"Any five-year old boy knows that if you put ten marbles into a tin can, you can only take ten marbles back out. Global bankers operate on the belief that they can put ten marbles (dollars) into a tin can (the world) and magically get 11 marbles back out. Thus, the bankers are dumber than five-year old boys! But unlike five-year old boys, the bankers will take your home, your business, and your nation when they don't get that eleventh marble! And after all that mayhem brought down on the occupants of the tin can there still will be no eleventh marble. It does not exist. It never did, and it never will. That is the ultimate doom of debt-based currency systems. In ages to come economists will look back at this failed experiment in debt-based currency and dump it into the same catagory of human stupidity as Tulipmania and the Great South Seas Company." -- Michael Rivero

I think that it was the great Miranda Devine, she of the “laptop from hell” fame, who first called the world’s attention to the latest wrinkle in the long-running “Get Trump” extravaganza in New York.  Anyway, I first heard about it from her post on X Friday. “If this is legit,” she wrote, commenting on a letter purportedly from Acting Justice Juan Merchan to Donald Trump’s Counsel and the Manhattan DA’s office,  “it should wipe out Trump’s conviction.”

Eh, what?

At issue was someone who (again, purportedly) posted on the Court’s public Facebook page a message from one “Michael Anderson,”  a self-described “professional shitposter,” who claimed to have inside information that Trump was about to be convicted. “My cousin is a juror and says Trump is getting convicted. Thank you folks for all your hard work!” The comment, Merchan wrote, was posted on May 29, a day before Trump’s guilty verdict rolled off the tongues of Merchan’s jury.

For a brief moment, the internet was ablaze with speculative comment, elated or anguished depending on the ideological coloration of the poster.  If it turned out that a juror had disobeyed his orders and spilled the beans about the verdict to someone who then posted the bulletin on Facebook, would that constitute grounds for a mistrial?  After all, “prejudice to the defendant” is one of the stipulated grounds for a mistrial. CPL § 280.10 of the statute says, in part, that “the court must declare a mistrial”   “upon motion of the defendant, when there occurs during the trial an error or legal defect in the proceedings, or conduct inside or outside the courtroom, which is prejudicial to the defendant and deprives him of a fair trial.”

Is that what we have here?  It’s hard to say.  The original Facebook post was removed.  As far as I know, the juror in question has not been identified—and that’s assuming that a juror did inform “Michael Anderson” of the verdict. Did the post result in “substantial and irreparable prejudice to the defendant’s case?”

For many of you, watching the Dr. Fauci House Subcommittee testimony last Monday was must-see TV. For others, it was just another example of partisan bickering over a topic that is now in our collective rearview mirror. It’s safe to say that partisans on both sides—especially Marjorie Taylor Greene for Republicans and Jamie Raskin for Democrats—didn’t cover themselves with glory. And while there were some pointed questions asked by Republicans, most failed to land a decisive knock-out punch.

During the same hearing last Monday, we watched one Democrat after another heap lavish praise on the diminutive tyrant who once claimed “I am science” before walking back that title. Especially egregious were several congressional Democrats like Jamie Raskin who wasted most of their allotted five minutes to question Fauci. They did not ask questions, rather they filibustered the process by puffing up his inflated ego, the worst of which was California Rep. Robert Garcia.

At the heart of last Monday’s s**t show in the House was Fauci’s involvement through the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of back-channel funding of gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The movement of funds from the National Institute of Health (NIH) through the EcoHealth Alliance and on to the Wuhan Institute of Virology was meticulously documented by Wolves and Finance commentator Zach De Gregorio in this post last Sunday, the day before Fauci testified before the House Subcommittee.

Taking his cue from Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó’s recent visit to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, U.S. Ambassador to Hungary David Pressman used the occasion to launch yet another attack on Hungary’s conservative government.

“Hungary’s foreign minister makes his 8th trip to Russia since Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Hungary’s government says it is the ‘party of peace’ while continuing to stand with Putin’s party of war. Hungary’s addiction to Russian energy is dangerous and unnecessary,” Pressman wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday.

“Minister Szijjártó is right: energy diversification is not a matter of ideology but one of physics. The laws of physics in Hungary are no different than the laws of physics in every single one of Hungary’s EU partners, all of whom have chosen to reduce dependence on Putin,” Pressman concluded his post.

At least 210 Palestinians were killed and hundreds of others were injured on Saturday in the central Gaza Strip, in what Israel is celebrating as a “heroic” military operation to rescue four Israeli captives that were being held in Gaza.

Palestinian media reported intense bombardment in the early afternoon local time in various areas in the Nuseirat and Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip. Video footage from the main market in the Nuseirat refugee camp showed crowds of Palestinian civilians fleeing under the sound of heavy artillery fire.

Al Jazeera reporter Anas al-Sharif reported that Israeli forces “infiltrated” the Nuseirat refugee camp in trucks disguised as humanitarian aid trucks.

The House Rules Committee will be considering a resolution to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress next week, potentially setting the stage for a full House vote on the matter.

A contempt vote has been looming since last month, when two committees forwarded a resolution to censure Garland.

As part of the impeachment investigation into President Biden, House Republicans are demanding the audio recording of Biden’s interview with special counsel Robert Hur, who probes Biden’s mishandling of classified documents. Despite admitting that he mishandled classified documents, Hur opted not to charge Biden, stating that he would be perceived as old and forgetful by a jury.

Last week, the Louisiana House of Representatives passed a bill introduced by State Senator Valarie Hodges, allowing police to arrest illegal aliens. The bill was approved by a 74-23 vote.

As reported by NOLA, “SB 388 needs one procedural approval from the Senate, which passed the proposal before the House amended it.”

“If SB 388 takes effect, violating the statute would be punishable by up to one year in prison and a $4,000 fine for a first offense, with harsher penalties for a second offense.”

The Governor is expected to sign the bill into law.

Distracted and confused—that’s exactly how the regime wants the American people. When everyone’s attention is scattered in a hundred different directions, it’s much easier for them to roll out their sweeping plots. Imagine standing in a room filled with TVs, each blasting a different message, and you’re trying to make sense of it all. Meanwhile, the powers that be are quietly making epic chess moves that will alter our lives and change the country—and the world—forever. We’ve said it a thousand times: the regime will stop at nothing to hold onto power. Nothing. That could mean unleashing a so-called “pandemic”—courtesy of Chef Fauci and his Chinese lab buddies—or even sparking World War III with a nuclear power over a corrupt country that’s probably a money-laundering paradise for US politicians and their families. And that last part—the most terrifying outcome of all—is actually unfolding right before our eyes. What’s even scarier is that the American people are sleepwalking right into the biggest and bloodiest election interference plot yet. By the time everyone wakes up, it might just be too late.

In an absolutely unthinkable and reckless display of warmongering, Joe Biden has just given Ukraine the all-clear to use American weapons inside Russia. We’ve gone beyond just “poking the bear”—now we’re openly mocking and slapping it silly. This is a dangerous game of Russian roulette that’s destined for disaster. And for the record, it’s the US and NATO, not Russia, pushing the world toward nuclear war.

Israel’s genocidal war on Palestinians since last October has extended beyond the daily mass death, displacement, and starvation of the civilian population in the Gaza Strip. Behind the bars of Israeli prisons, Israel has been waging war against Palestinian prisoners, creating conditions that make the continuation of human life impossible. The effects of this brutal campaign have reverberated among prisoners’ families outside of jail, who are watching their loved ones being systematically starved, beaten, tortured, and degraded.

Shortly after October 7, Israel imposed a new set of rules in its cell blocks. In some detention centers like Ofer near Ramallah, the Israeli army was reportedly handed over control of the prison, while the Israel Prison Services guards were given a free hand in dealing with Palestinian inmates inside the jail sections. This shift was accompanied by a dramatic increase in the number of Palestinian detainees who were arrested after October 7, doubling the prisoner population as early on as mid-October. This included prisoners from Gaza, for whom the hardest part of the treatment was reserved.

In mid-May, CNN released an exposé based on the testimonies of Israeli whistleblowers about the horrific treatment of Palestinians from Gaza at the Israeli military base of Sde Teiman, now containing a detention center. The whistleblower testimonies detail a number of medieval practices to which Palestinian prisoners have been subjected, including being strapped down to beds while blindfolded and made to wear diapers, having unqualified medical trainees conduct procedures on them without anesthesia, having dogs set on them by prison guards, being regularly beaten or put into stress positions for offenses as minor as peeking beneath their blindfolds, having zip-tie wounds fester to the point of requiring amputation, and a host of other horrific measures.

We've received a strange signal from across the galaxy, and astronomers are struggling to understand what it means.

They know what's emitting the signals. It's a neutron star named ASKAP J193505.1+214841.0 (ASKAP J1935+2148 for short), located in the plane of the Milky Way, some 15,820 light-years from Earth.

But the signals themselves are like none we've ever seen before. The star goes through periods of strong pulses, periods of weak pulses, and periods of no pulses at all.

What we don't know, according to a team led by astrophysicist Manisha Caleb of the University of Sydney in Australia, is why. The strange object poses a fascinating challenge to our models of neutron star evolution – which, let's be honest, are currently pretty far from complete.

A neutron star is what's left after a star within a certain mass range dies, between about 8 and 30 times the mass of the Sun. The star's outer material is blasted off into space, culminating in a supernova explosion.

The leftover core of the star collapses under gravity, forming an ultra dense object up to 2.3 times the mass of the Sun, in a sphere just 20 kilometers (12 miles) across.

The neutron star that results can then present in a variety of ways. There's the base neutron star, which just hangs out not doing a great deal. There's the pulsar, which sweeps beams of radio emission from its poles as it rotates, flashing like a cosmic lighthouse.

And there's the magnetar, a neutron star with an extremely powerful magnetic field, which jerks and erupts as the outward pull of that magnetic field wars with the gravity keeping the star together.

There can also be some rare crossover between the neutron star types, suggesting that they may be different stages of neutron star evolution. Generally, however, pulsars, magnetars, and neutron stars tend to behave in relatively predictable ways.

Some troubling findings are associated with this study. The RECOVERY investigators report no real difference between molnupiravir and standard of care. For example, 74 (17%) of the patients in the molnupiravir, and 79 (17%) patients allocated to usual care died within 28 days (hazard ratio [HR] 0.93; 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.68-1.28; p=0.66).

But what about Pfizer’s Paxlovid (nirmatrelvir-ritonavir)? Looking at what the RECOVERY team referred to as the nirmatrelvir-ritonavir comparison, 13 (19%) of the patients as well as 13 (19%) patients allocated usual care died within 28 days (HR 1.02; 95% CI 0.47-2.23; p=0.96). Statistical power challenge aside, the lack of impact of these antivirals when it comes to mortality raises real concerns. TrialSite already covered a study sponsored by Pfizer showing Paxlovid had no impact on healthy individuals with COVID-19 versus placebo.

Horby and colleagues note in their paper, “In neither comparison was there evidence of a significant difference in the duration of hospitalization or the proportion of patients progressing to invasive ventilation or death.”

It’s no secret that the majority of American citizens are not happy with President Joe Biden’s economy, as prices have increased by nearly 20% since 2021. The Pew Research Center also revealed that only 23% of Americans view Biden’s economy as “excellent or good.”

However, corporate media companies and Democrats seem perplexed as to why Americans are not happy.

The Washington Post wrote the May 28th headline: “Nearly everything Americans believe about the economy is wrong.” The message that this headline conveys is essentially to blame U.S. citizens for their dissatisfaction, not the politicians whose policies have caused voters to feel this way.

If you want to understand why Americans are unhappy with Biden’s economy, look no further than the May jobs report. On the surface, the U.S. economy added 272,000 jobs, exceeding the industry expectations. But there’s much more to this than meets the eye.

The jobs report further revealed that 663,000 native born Americans lost their jobs, while 414,000 foreign born individuals have entered the workforce. In addition, 263,000 foreign workers joined the labor force while 171,000 American labor force workers lost their jobs.

Americans have also seen large quantities of full time jobs lost. In the last year, approximately 1.2 million full time jobs have been lost while being replaced by 1.5 million part time jobs.

A bunch of women basketball players who most people don’t even know will be representing the US Olympic team in Paris in 2024. Caitlin Clark will not be one of them.

CBS Sports reported (per The Gateway Pundit):

Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark is expected to be left off the Team USA women’s basketball roster for the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris, David Eickholt of 247Sports confirms.

USA Today’s Christine Brennan first reported shortly after midnight Saturday.

Clark became the college basketball all-time leading scorer earlier this year, and she is currently putting up some impressive numbers in the WNBA.

In her first 14 games, she has averaged 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game. She has also already put up two 30-point games — one of them being during the Fever’s 85-83 win over the Washington Mystics in which she reached a career-high seven 3-pointers. With that performance, Clark became the fastest rookie in WNBA history to record 200+ points and 50+ assists.

The Mexican government has funded a lawsuit for illegal migrants in Florida who are facing human smuggling charges and prison time under Gov. Ron DeSantis’s law curbing illegal migration.

DeSantis signed Senate Bill 1718 (SB 1718), into law in May 2023, which requires employers to use an E-verify system to check potential candidates’ employment eligibility, prevents undocumented migrants from receiving a driver’s license, and increases penalties for human smuggling.

After the law went into effect last July, several migrants, including Raquel Lopez Aguilar, 41, were arrested by Florida law enforcement and highway patrol officials. Aguilar has been imprisoned since his arrest for transporting illegal aliens working as roofers and faces up to 20 years in prison, but the Mexican government has been paying for his legal bills, according to the Guardian.

In a 6-1 decision on Thursday, the Florida Supreme Court sided with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) over his controversial removal of State Attorney Monique Worrel from her position in August 2023. DeSantis had accused Worrel of “dereliction of duty” due to her lenient approach to crime, a move that sparked a legal battle when Worrel sued the DeSantis Administration, demanding reinstatement and claiming her firing was an “arbitrary, unsubstantiated exercise of the suspension power.”

The majority opinion of the court firmly rejected Worrel’s arguments, stating, “We cannot agree with Worrel that the allegations in the Executive Order are impermissibly vague, nor that they address conduct that falls within the lawful exercise of prosecutorial discretion.” The court further clarified that a suspension order does not infringe on a state attorney’s lawful exercise of prosecutorial discretion when it alleges that such discretion is not being exercised in individual cases and that generalized policies have resulted in categorical enforcement practices.

As former President Donald Trump continued to fight back against what he called the “rigged” trial and his conviction in New York City, he gained allies to support him. Trump has called out everyone from the prosecutor to the judge in the case and even alleged Democrat connections all the way to the White House.

Donations to Democrats’ election coffers and liberal candidate claims to “get Trump” have been tied to key players who worked overtime to convict the former president. These ties haven’t gone unnoticed by groups that want the truth about the people who convicted a president for the first time in history.

Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) faces a legal challenge to its denial of public records related to the case. If the challenge is successful, the DOJ could be exposed for protecting a Biden loyalist who went after Trump.

From Fox News:
A conservative nonprofit is suing the Department of Justice after it failed to release records requested under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) pertaining to Matthew Colangelo, a key figure in the New York criminal trial of former President Trump.

America First Legal (AFL) alleged in the lawsuit filed Monday that New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg – the lead official in Trump’s prosecution – hired Matthew Colangelo in December 2022 to reportedly “jump-start” his office’s investigation of Trump, reportedly due to Mr. Colangelo’s “history of taking on Donald J. Trump and his family business.”
