Thought for the day

"The supreme trick of mass insanity is that it persuades you that the only abnormal person is the one who refuses to join in the madness of others, the one who tries vainly to resist. We will never understand totalitarianism if we do not understand that people rarely have the strength to be uncommon." -- Eugene Ionesco

On November 15, at about 3 pm local time, an air alert sounded throughout Ukraine. The explosions were reported in almost all regions and cities of the country. Immediately after the attacks, power outages and interruptions of public transport began.

Emergency power outages continue in all regions of the country. Zelensky claimed that Russia fired 90 missiles at the territory of Ukraine, as a result of which the country’s energy system was hit.  According to the deputy head of the office, Kirill Tymoshenko, more than 90 missiles were fired at Ukraine, while Ukrainian air defense allegedly shot down 70 of them. In total, 15 energy infrastructure facilities were damaged.

More than 7 million consumers were left without electricity, this is about 20 million people, said Deputy head of the presidential office Kirill Tymoshenko said.

Exercise Falcon Strike 2022 – an Italian Air Force training exercise which focuses on fifth and fourth-generation integration between NATO Allies operating the advanced F-35A Lightning II stealth fighter – kicked off today, continuing through Nov. 28, at Italy’s Amendola Air Base.

U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa has routinely supported the annual exercise, which, for the first time, will incorporate the 48th Fighter Wing’s F-35 aircraft from the 495th “Valkyries” Fighter Squadron, the first organically available fifth-generation assets within U.S. European Command’s area of responsibility. RAF Lakenheath continually supports training and operations across the theater since their F-35s initial arrival in December 2021.

Aviano Air Base’s 31st Fighter Wing will also support the exercise from the 555th “Triple Nickel” Fighter Squadron flying the F-16 Fighting Falcon, which will support fourth-generation fighter air warfare training.

The U.S. is now seeing a rapid growth in the number of preppers, with the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic contributing to that increase.

Prior to the pandemic, only to two or three percent of all Americans were preppers. Now, that number has soared to about 10 percent. While the fear brought about by the pandemic has passed, most people’s eyes were opened to the importance of preparedness when SHTF.

Prepper John Ramey, who runs a website for preppers called The Prepared, believes that around 15 million Americans are actively preparing for the worst. “Broadly speaking, more and more people [are] realizing that they are their own first responder,” he said. (Related: Thanks to covid, prepping has gone mainstream.)

Question: How can you tell who is a prepper?

Answer: They are the ones NOT eating out of trash dumpsters after a disaster!

Southeast Asia is right at the center of international relations for a whole week viz a viz three consecutive summits: Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit in Phnom Penh, the Group of Twenty (G20) summit in Bali, and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Bangkok.

Eighteen nations accounting for roughly half of the global economy represented at the first in-person ASEAN summit since the Covid-19 pandemic in Cambodia: the ASEAN 10, Japan, South Korea, China, India, US, Russia, Australia, and New Zealand.

With characteristic Asian politeness, the summit chair, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen (or “Colombian”, according to the so-called “leader of the free world”), said the plenary meeting was somewhat heated, but the atmosphere was not tense: “Leaders talked in a mature way, no one left.”

It was up to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to express what was really significant at the end of the summit.

While praising the “inclusive, open, equal structure of security and cooperation at ASEAN”, Lavrov stressed how Europe and NATO “want to militarize the region in order to contain Russia and China’s interests in the Indo-Pacific.”

Political commentators are crying fraud after vote tallies show more people voted for the Republican candidate in Arizona’s Treasurer race than voted for the GOP candidate in the state governor’s race.

The bizarre discrepancy can be observed in official vote tallies from the New York Times, which receives its election results from the Associated Press.

Evidently, according to vote totals, Republican incumbent Kimberly Yee received 1.37 million votes, securing her the state Treasurer’s seat against Democrat opponent Martin Quezada by over 278,000 votes.

Bizarrely, however, the same enthusiasm for the GOP was not seen in the state’s hotly contested governor’s race, where Arizona’s top election official Katie Hobbs managed to squeak out a Democrat victory against GOP rival Kari Lake. Hobbs won by 19,273 votes against Lake.

Whereas Yee received 1.37 million votes in her race, Lake curiously only managed to receive around 1.25 million, a discrepancy of close to 120,000 votes.

The discrepancy in vote totals set off alarm bells for pundits on social media, who rightfully questioned why more voters would vote Republican in a lower-profile election like the treasurer’s race than the closely-watched governor’s race.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged France to maintain its independence in foreign relations and “respect mutual core interests” in the first face-to-face meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019.

“At present, the world has entered a new period of turmoil and change. As … important forces in the multipolar world, China, France and Europe should adhere to the spirit of independence, openness and cooperation,” Xi said, as the two leaders met on the sidelines of the Group of 20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, on Tuesday morning.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has called on what he referred to as "the G19 countries to join the grain initiative."

"Thanks to the strong participation of the UN, Turkey and other partners, we have demonstrated how the cooperation of a few can restore food security for the many. I believe our export grain initiative deserves an indefinite extension," Ukrainian media quoted Zelensky as saying in his speech at the Group of Twenty summit by video link on Tuesday.

"Since July, Ukraine has exported over ten million tonnes of food by sea. We can increase exports by several million tonnes per month. To this end, I propose expanding the grain export initiative to our other ports - in particular to the ports of Nikolayev and Olivia in the Nikolayev region," he said.

Zelensky also called on "all countries - and in particular your countries, dear G19 leaders - to join our initiative to help the poorest with food."

"We have already launched this initiative - Grain from Ukraine. And the first vessel - the Nord Vind - is leaving for Ethiopia with 27,000 tonnes of wheat on board. This is the amount that can feed almost 100,000 people a year," he said.

Nearly 15,000 Ukrainian military personnel to undergo training in EU countries

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the EU member states made a decision about the start of the training mission for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Such a statement made the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

“We are united in our support of Ukraine. The best proof of that is that today, we launched the EU Military Assistance Mission with the purpose of training at least 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers. It has been decided, it has been agreed, it has been implemented in record time. I hope that it will start working by the end of this month,” said Josep Borrell.

First here, are a group of lies that all are false, all for the very same reason — that they all blatantly contradict the actual (as is to be documented here) history (just click onto each given lying phrase below, to see instances in which the given false phrase has been reported as being instead true — and, then, I shall here document them all to be not just false but the reverse of truth, the exact opposite of the reality):

Any alleged report that employs any such phrase is propaganda — lying ‘news’ or ‘history’ — that bases itself upon the false unstated assumption that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022 started the war in Ukraine, instead of responded to a war in Ukraine that U.S. President Barack Obama’s Administration (including Joe Biden) — the American Government — had actually started there, in 2014, against Ukraine’s adjoining nation of Russia. America is planning ultimately to invade Russia from the only nation that is only 300 miles away from Moscow (Russia’s central command — far closer than Cuba was to Washington DC during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis).

Here, as proven in the links, are the historical facts, documenting the U.S. Government’s increasing aggression against Russia — using Ukraine as its primary springboard in its plan to conquer Russia:

Australian health officials said they will not make any changes to their existing recommendations for COVID-19 boosters — meaning they won’t recommend a third booster (fifth dose) for any age group, despite rising case and hospitalization numbers.

In a press conference today, Health Minister Mark Butler said the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (ATAGI) largely based its decision on evidence from a recent COVID-19 wave in Singapore, where severe disease and death were rare among people who received at least two vaccine doses.

Butler noted that cases in Australia have risen 47% in the last week, but remain 85% below the previous peak in July. He added that “any reduction in transmission by adding a fifth dose to the system would, in their [ATAGI’s] words, likely be minimal.”

The schedules of emergency power outages drawn up earlier will not be valid for the Odessa region, emergency shutdowns are being introduced in the region. This was reported on Wednesday in DTEK Odessa electric networks.

"We are forced to carry out emergency blackouts. This is a necessary step to balance the power system and avoid equipment accidents. The schedules of stabilization outages are not in effect yet," the company said in a statement on its Facebook page (banned in Russia, owned by Meta Corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).

The press service of the national energy company Ukrenergo earlier reported that rolling blackouts according to schedules, as well as emergency ones, will be introduced on Wednesday throughout Ukraine. The company warned that the periods of outages will become longer and urged the population to save electricity.

In what we're sure is simply totally a coincidence and nothing more, the grades of attractive female students examined by a new study fell after classes were moved online during the Covid lockdowns.

A brand new research paper called "Student beauty and grades under in-person and remote teaching" found that "when education is in-person, attractive students receive higher grades".

The same study found that "grades of attractive females declined when teaching was conducted remotely" and that "the effect is only present in courses with significant teacher–student interaction."

The paper had a jury of 74 people rate the looks of 307 engineering students on a scale of 1 to 10. From there, it looked at the data behind the students' grades prior to, and during, pandemic lockdowns, at the Industrial Engineering Program at Lund University.

"This paper has shown that students’ facial attractiveness impact academic outcomes when classes are held in-person," the study concluded.

Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum find themselves waiting around for the next global crisis event after the covid pandemic turned out to be much less threatening to the public than they had originally hoped.  In the meantime, Schwab continues to pontificate on the virtues of the "Great Reset" and the usefulness of crisis as a means to accomplish a "restructuring" of the current world order.

The restructuring that the WEF obsesses over is a global socialist system based on Schwab's concepts of the 4th Industrial Revolution, the Shared Economy and Stakeholder Capitalism (corporate governance).  He does not say much in terms of planning in his speech to the G20, but he does imply that while fragmentation is necessary, too much fragmentation could be troublesome.  In other words, controlled chaos is valuable to the globalist agenda, but uncontrolled chaos would be disastrous for them.

The White House on Tuesday asked Congress to approve $37.7 billion in new aid for Ukraine, which would bring total US spending on the war to about $105 billion.

According to The Hill, the request includes $21.7 billion in military aid for Ukraine and to replenish US military stockpiles that have been sent to the country.

A total of $14.5 billion in budgetary aid to directly fund the Ukrainian government is included, as Kyiv is expecting the US and its allies to pay its budget deficit for 2023.

The request also includes $626 million for the US Strategic Oil Reserve and for nuclear safety for Ukraine and $900 million for healthcare and other services for Ukrainians.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday addressed the summit of G20 leaders in Indonesia via video link and told the group not to ask Ukraine to compromise to reach a peace deal with Russia.

Zelensky referred to the group as the “G19” in a snub aimed at Russia, as Moscow is a member of the G20. “Ukraine should not be offered to conclude compromises with its conscience, sovereignty, territory and independence. We respect the rules and we are people of our word,” the Ukrainian leader said, according to POLITICO.

Zelensky said that there would be no “Minsk 3,” referring to Minsk 1 and Minsk 2, agreements that failed to end the civil war in Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region. The war in the Donbas was sparked by the US-backed 2014 coup that ousted former President Viktor Yanukovych. In response to the change in power, separatists in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of the Donbas declared independence from Kyiv.

The US Department of Justice is investigating the death of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, according to the Israeli defense minister. Senator Ted Cruz blasted the investigation for marking Tel Aviv as President Joe Biden’s “political enemy.”

Abu Akleh was killed in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin in May during an Israeli policing operation. Initially, Tel Aviv claimed the veteran journalist was shot by Palestinian militants, however Israeli officials now say it is highly likely Abu Akleh was unintentionally killed by a soldier in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

On May 11, Abu Akleh and several colleagues arrived in Jenin to cover an IDF raid on a Palestinian refugee camp. As the journalist walked through the area, Israeli forces opened fire, hitting her in the head, while a colleague was shot and injured. After Abu Akleh collapsed to the ground, IDF troops continued to fire at reporters and civilians who attempted to render aid.

Several western media outlets have conducted independent investigations into the raid and concluded Israeli forces murdered the Palestinian-American journalist.

For months, the US refused to hold any diplomatic talks with Russia. Then, suddenly, on November 6, it was revealed that National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan "has been in contact with Yuri Ushakov, a foreign-policy adviser to Mr. Putin" and with Russia’s Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev.

Sullivan then went to Kiev for talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. At those talks, Sullivan "raised the need for a diplomatic resolution to the war" and privately pushed Zelensky to “signal an openness to negotiate with Russia and drop their public refusal to engage in peace talks unless President Vladimir Putin is removed from power.”

On November 8, in a sudden reversal of his decree banning negotiating with Putin, Zelensky announced that he is open to peace talks with Putin. Zelensky urged the international community to “force Russia into real peace talks.” Zelensky insisted that his preconditions for talks are “restoration of (Ukraine’s) territorial integrity … compensation for all war damage, punishment for every war criminal and guarantees that it will not happen again.”

Those preconditions are near impossible. But in another sudden change of tone, Washington has begun signaling that "they believe that Zelensky would probably endorse negotiations and eventually accept concessions, as he suggested he would early in the war. They believe that Kyiv is attempting to lock in as many military gains as it can before winter sets in, when there might be a window for diplomacy.”

Webmaster addition: This will only work if the US Government promises not to meddle in Ukraine's internal affairs, and even if the US made such a promise, who would risk believing them?
