President Biden has made many claims throughout his decades-long political career, including one about being "arrested" when he was 21 years old for sitting in the Senate presiding officer's chair illegally.

A 2007 interview Biden gave with comedian David Letterman is circulating on social media after being reposted in the wake of Fox News’ Tucker Carlson’s publication of Capitol footage from the Jan. 6 riots.

In the interview, Letterman asked the Delaware Democratic senator what it was like walking into the Senate chamber in his 20s.

U.S. nuclear reactor vendor Westinghouse Electric announced this week that it signed a contract with Energoatom, the state-owned nuclear utility of Ukraine, to build five 1150 MWe AP1000 reactors at four separate sites in Ukraine. Four of the units will be new and one will complete a partially built reactor at the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant.

According to a Fox News report, while speaking at a fundraising event in Rancho Santa Fe, California, President Joe Biden revealed that former President Jimmy Carter has asked him to deliver the eulogy at his funeral.

“He asked me to do his eulogy – excuse me, I shouldn’t say that,” Biden said.

“I spent time with Jimmy Carter, and it’s finally caught up with him. But they found a way to keep him going for a lot longer than they anticipated because they found a breakthrough,” Biden told the crowd.

Maricopa County filed a response to Kari Lake’s Petition for Review in the Arizona Supreme Court yesterday.

The Gateway Pundit has reported extensively on Kari Lake’s stolen election and lawsuit challenging the fraud. On March 1, 2023, after the Maricopa County Superior Court and the Arizona Appeals Court dismissed the case, Lake filed a ‘Petition for Review’ and a Motion to Expedite Review’ for her election contest in the Arizona Supreme Court.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, on March 2, the Arizona Supreme Court agreed to expedite Lake’s lawsuit and scheduled March 21 to consider whether or not they will accept Lake’s new Petition. “At the conference, the Court will decide whether to accept review and schedule an oral argument,” states the order.

Responses from Defendants were ordered to be submitted by yesterday, March 13.

Maricopa County submitted a bogus response, falsely claiming that Kari Lake “presents—for the first time—a misleading factual theory about chain-of-custody documents” and “does not present any argument illustrating a need for this Court to review the court of appeals’ Opinion.”

They don’t even want the Supreme Court to consider this case because they are terrified.

Posts on Twitter and other social-media platforms helped fuel concerns about the U.S. banking system in recent days, as a range of users from prominent investors to internet provocateurs speculated more chaos could ensue.

Some users were trying to offer financial advice aimed at helping readers. Others appeared to take a more extreme view of the situation. In total, fairly or not, the messages sowed anxiety at a time when confidence in the country’s banking system was shaken, lawmakers and social-media observers said. 

Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) failed on Friday and was shut down by regulators. It was the second-largest failure in US history and the first since the global financial crisis. Almost immediately, the calls for bailouts started to come in. (Since Friday, First Republic Bank has failed, and many other banks are facing collapse.)

In fact, on March 9, even before SVB failed, billionaire investor Bill Ackman took to Twitter to insist a federal “bailout should be considered” if the private sector could not save the bank. Hours after SVB officially failed, Ackman was still at it, and in a 646-word panicky screed, he demanded that the federal government “guarantee SVB deposits” and essentially backstop the entire banking industry to keep failing, inefficient, and poorly managed banks afloat.

Now, many readers might be saying to themselves, “I thought bank deposits were insured!” That, of course, is correct, but deposits are only legislatively insured up to $250,000 by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Given that most normal people keep less than this in their bank accounts, that means the majority of bank users are not going to lose any of their money should their banks fail. Moreover, it is extremely easy to acquire deposit insurance on much more than $250,000 by simply keeping money at more than one bank. That $250,000 limit applies to the deposits at each bank where a depositor keeps funds. For customers with high liquidity needs, the financial sector offers tools for dealing with the risk of exceeding FDIC limits.

In an illustration of the laziness and arrogance that so characterizes our modern financial class, however, many of the wealthiest depositors at Silicon Valley Bank couldn’t be bothered with managing their deposits, and they essentially ignored the deposit-insurance rules that even a ten-year-old understands when opening his first bank account.

As a result, many venture capitalists and other wealthy SVB customers stand to a lot of money. At least, they stood to lose a lot of money before Sunday evening, when the Federal Reserve announced its new “Bank Term Funding Program” (BTFP), which promises to flood the banking system with new money and shore up the personal finances of wealthy depositors. 

The Republican Senator from Louisiana, John Kennedy, stated on Sunday that President Joe Biden’s budget, which is around $7 trillion, took his “breath away” and should be in a “shredder” instead of burdening the American Taxpayers. 

Kennedy stated: 

“The president’s budget took my breath away.”

He added: 

“His numbers are extraordinary. We’re going to run out of digits here. It’s a $6.9 trillion budget, $4.7 trillion in new taxes that will affect everyone over 10 years, $18 trillion in new debt, a cut to defense.”

Former President Donald Trump announced his third campaign for the White House here Tuesday night at his luxurious seaside resort Mar-a-Lago in front of thousands of fans and hundreds of media outlets.

In the 69-minute address, Trump unveiled what he called a “National Greatness Agenda.”

“This is what we call a National Greatness Agenda, because our country can be greater than it’s ever been,” Trump said. “Our country is not great anymore. It’s a mess. But our country can be greater than it ever was before. There will be more, much more in the months ahead—and there are so many things we need to do. The road ahead of us will not be easy.”

As a U.S. Senator, Joe Biden was known as a political moderate. When he ran for president in 2020, he portrayed himself as the Democrats' middle-of-the-road candidate -- a man who could work with both sides of the aisle and unite Americans of all political persuasions. However, when being a moderate wasn't helping his chances of winning the nomination, candidate Biden quickly switched horses in midstream, adopting the far-left platform of socialist Bernie Sanders.

This move won him the Democrats' nomination and made him beholden to the radical left-wing of the Democrat Party. It also called into question Biden's judgment, a subject tackled quite capably by award-winning journalist Caroline Glick in her column "Joe Biden's catastrophic judgment." For example, concerning his judgment in handling the U.S. exit from Afghanistan, Glick observed Biden's judgment "was never reasoned or fact-based" and he "was catastrophically wrong." She also makes the equally valid point that once the president adopts a position, he "is unwilling to listen to counterargument" and "he will not rethink his choices or positions, even after they failed."

A recently published study suggests that the overwhelming majority of students in the United States have been exposed to at least one core principle of critical race theory (CRT) despite claims from many on the left that the curriculum is not taught in schools.

Researchers at the Manhattan Institute surveyed responses from more than 1,500 Americans recently out of high school ages 18 to 20, and 90% of respondents said they have heard at least one CRT concept from a teacher or adult at school, and 93% had been taught a core tenet of critical social justice (CSJ), a combination of CRT and radical gender ideology.

The study, which explains that its method is to "interview a random sample of those who have recently graduated from school and can recollect their recent school experiences in order to estimate the extent to which CSJ has become part of American education," found that 62% of students said they were taught or heard from an adult that "America is a systemically racist country."

On Saturday, at an event in Washington, DC, former Vice President Mike Pence spoke out about Biden’s plan to re-enter the nuclear deal.

In his talk with anti-regime activists, Pence warned that if plans go forward, it won’t result in a positive outcome, according to a report by Fox News.

The event was by the Organization of Iranian-American Communities, which supports an Iranian republic that is democratic, non-nuclear, and secular. The group supported Trump and his administration for the policy that exacted maximum pressure on the regime.

There’s already confusion over next year’s Oscar eligibility rules. It doesn’t even have to do with the theatrical/streaming debate, but rather, if the film is inclusive enough.

Starting this year, when filling out an online form to submit your film for Oscar consideration, a producer will have to adhere to new Academy rules. The site asks about cast and crewmembers’ race, gender and sexual orientations, and whether they had autism, or dealt with chronic pain or mental illness.

A submarine with two dead bodies and nearly three tons of cocaine aboard was seized in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Colombia, the country's navy announced Sunday. Two survivors "in poor health" were also found on the vessel and given first aid.

"These people's poor health state is presumably due to the inhalation of toxic fumes caused by fuel problems inside the boat," Captain Cristian Andres Guzman Echeverry said in a video released by the navy.

The roughly 50-foot-long submarine was carrying almost 5,800 pounds of cocaine, worth more than $87 million, officials said. The navy said the vessel had been bound for countries in Central America, and that the seizure had kept more than 6 million doses of cocaine off the illegal market.

America’s top medical schools — including Columbia, Harvard, the University of Chicago, Stanford, Mount Sinai, and the University of Pennsylvania — are all lowering their academic standards for admission in order to boost minority acceptance and graduation rates. The loosening of standards is being conducted in the name of “equity” “diversity” and “inclusion.” Lowering medical school standards will have profound consequences in the years to come, especially in a medical environment that is already overrun by corruption and malpractice.

The importance of academic achievement in medical education

Students who have excelled academically are better equipped to handle the rigorous coursework and demanding workload that comes with medical school. They are also better prepared to provide high-quality care to patients once they enter the workforce.

The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is a standardized test that is used by medical schools to evaluate the academic readiness of prospective students. The test is designed to assess critical thinking, problem-solving, and knowledge of scientific concepts.

Lowering academic standards for admission will have a detrimental effect on the quality of education that medical students receive. Students who are not adequately prepared may struggle to keep up with the coursework, leading to a lower quality of education and potentially compromising patient care.

A Russian fighter jet forced down a US Air Force drone over the Black Sea on Tuesday after damaging the propeller of the American MQ-9 Reaper drone, according to the US Air Force.

The Reaper drone and two SU-27 Flanker jets were operating over international waters over the Black Sea when one of the Russian jets intentionally flew in front of and dumped fuel in front of the unmanned drone, according to the official. One of the jets then damaged the propeller of the Reaper, which is mounted on the rear of the drone, the official said. The damage to the propeller forced the US to bring down the Reaper in international waters in the Black Sea.

The incident marks the first time Russian and US military aircraft have come into direct contact since Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine just over a year ago and is likely to increase tensions between the two nations, with the US Air Force calling Russia’s actions “reckless, environmentally unsound and unprofessional.”

China says a tripartite deal among the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia on the production of nuclear-powered Aukus submarines totally disregards international concerns while Russia slams the pact for raising questions about nuclear proliferation.

American President Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese unveiled at the US naval base in San Diego on Monday details of a plan to supply Australia with nuclear-powered attack submarines from the early 2030s with the declared aim of countering what they call China's ambitions in the Indo-Pacific.

The three leaders termed the three-phase multibillion-dollar agreement under the 2021 Australia, United Kingdom, and US (AUKUS) partnership a "game changer," which ultimately ends with London and Canberra creating advanced versions of nuclear-powered submarines for their navies.

Black Lives Matter couple Monica Cannon-Grant and her husband Clark Grant became very involved in the organization and are now facing more than two dozen federal charges in connection to their involvement.

A year ago this week, the married couple was charged with 18 federal counts in connection to their organization, Violence in Boston. They founded VIB in 2017 with the stated goal of reducing violence, raising social awareness, and aiding in community causes in Boston. VIB partnered with BLM, especially in 2020. In June 2020, VIB and BLM organized a Boston rally for George Flyod, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. There were thousands of people in attendance.

Though VIB was a nonprofit that had raised over $1 million, Cannon-Grant and Grant allegedly used a significant portion of those funds for personal use. The 2022 federal indictment claimed that the couple had spent that money on gas, restaurants, personal travel and hotel reservations, nail salon appointments, auto repairs, and ride-share services.

There are also allegations that the two lied on a mortgage application and that Cannon-Grant had received more than $10,000 in grant money from a department store but had spent at least a third of that money on her rent. The board of directors voted to shut VIB down last July, according to a statement on the group’s Facebook page.

Gov. Ron DeSantis’ administration is revoking the Hyatt Regency Miami’s alcohol license for hosting a “sexually explicit show with children present,” according to governor’s office Tuesday.

“A Drag Queen Christmas” performed Dec. 27 at the James L. Knight Center, which is reportedly connected to the Hyatt Regency Miami. 

The administrative complaint said minors younger than 16 years of age were at the show where “performers appeared on stage wearing sexually suggestive clothing and prosthetic female genitalia.”

The show allowed minors if they were accompanied by an adult.

But they are facing a series of investigations into their collective role in its collapse. 

The collapse of American banks has triggered drastic movement in bank shares as investors fear contagion in financial institutions despite assurances from US President Joe Biden.

US bank stocks plummeted into a chaotic situation stemming from the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank on Friday, after customers demanded their deposits and the company’s stock fell amid worries over the bank’s financial health. The tech-focused bank was shut down by regulators shortly after California-based, crypto-focused Silvergate bank announced its liquidation earlier last week. Later, New York-based Signature Bank was shut down over the weekend due to concerns for the lender’s liquidity.

Shockwaves from the collapse of the banks, which were focused on tech startups and cryptocurrency, triggered big moves in bank shares on Tuesday as investors fretted over the chances of the financial failure of more of the US banks.

Joe Biden on Monday blamed Donald Trump for the recent bank failures and broadening contagion.

Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank collapsed over the weekend.

Silicon Valley Bank is the largest bank to fail since the 2008 liquidity crisis.

The FBI and U.S. Department of State have not yet provided documents in response to a congressional request for information on the origin of the COVID-19 virus, which is due March 13, but the agencies are expected to comply, according to the House panel seeking the information.

The information was requested on Feb. 27 by Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, and by Rep. Brad R. Wenstrup (R-Ohio), chairman of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.

“We have not received documents at this time, but we are in communication with the agencies about the chairman’s request, and we expect compliance,” a spokesperson for the subcommittee told The Epoch Times on March 13.

A spokesperson for the State Department told The Epoch Times, “President Biden has directed every element of our intelligence community to put the effort and resources behind getting to the bottom of the origins of COVID-19. We will continue to use every tool to figure out what happened here. And if we gain further insight, the President has directed the Administration to share that with Congress and the American people.”

The FBI declined to comment.

In a harsh blow to an already-reeling sector, Moody’s Investors Service cut its view on the entire banking system to negative from stable.

The firm, part of the big three rating services, said Monday it was making the move in light of key bank failures that prompted regulators to step in Sunday with a dramatic rescue plan for depositors and other institutions impacted by the crisis.

“We have changed to negative from stable our outlook on the US banking system to reflect the rapid deterioration in the operating environment following deposit runs at Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), Silvergate Bank, and Signature Bank (SNY) and the failures of SVB and SNY,” Moody’s said in a report.

The move followed action late Monday, when Moody’s warned it either was downgrading or placing on review for downgrade seven individual institutions.
