"If sanity and insanity exist, how shall we know them?" -- David Rosenham
Democrat socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has long claimed to be a champion of ethics and transparency. She has frequently complained about “dark money” in politics and has even pushed for term limits for members of Congress. But despite these stances, the New Yorker has been accused of a variety of ethics violations herself.
AOC has been challenged by the House Ethics Committee over questionable uses of campaign money. In the past, she has faced scrutiny over receiving gifts from the Met, after her infamous “Tax the Rich” red carpet appearance. But it looks like she is facing even more ethics violations. This time, it could involve prosecution.
From Breitbart:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) — known as AOC — is under scrutiny for describing her fiancé, Riley Roberts, as her “spouse” in forms filed with the House Ethics Committee in 2023, despite not being married to him…
The snafu is drawing attention, since Ocasio-Cortez has positioned herself as a champion of ethics in Congress, and willful misrepresentations on disclosure forms could subject her to criminal prosecution, the WFB noted.
It appears AOC is facing problems due to disclosure forms she filled out for the House Ethics Committee. In February she traveled to Japan and South Korea, on a trip funded by the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation. In August, she traveled to South America on a trip paid for by George Soros’s Foundation to Promote Open Society and the Center for Economic and Policy Research.
The Democrat-run state of California has frequently run afoul of federal courts in recent years. The heavily left-leaning legislature has pushed many progressive laws and rules, prompting backlash from conservative residents and other groups. One particularly controversial move has been the possibility of race reparations, which could spark a long-term legal battle.
Recently, the state passed a law that could potentially impact businesses and private citizens. Critics of the law have questioned its constitutionality, which has led to a lawsuit. The case was taken to the federal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, a notoriously liberal court that historically sided with Democrats. But, thanks to former President Trump’s diligent work reforming the courts, California experienced a rude wake-up call.
From The Post Millennial:
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Wednesday that California’s minor firearm advertising law likely violates the US Constitution, saying “The First Amendment demands more than good intentions and wishful thinking to warrant the government’s muzzling of speech.” […]
Judge Lee, who was appointed by former President Donald Trump, concluded that the state of California “cannot ban truthful ads about lawful firearm use among adults and minors unless it can show that such an intrusion into the First Amendment will significantly further the state’s interest in curtailing unlawful and violent use of firearms by minors.”

World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Secretary-General Petteri Taalas said on Thursday that the horrifying casualties from the catastrophic flooding in Libya could have been mitigated with a decent early warning system — something beyond the capabilities of a country shattered by former U.S. President Barack Obama’s 2011 invasion.
“If they would have been a normally operating meteorological service, they could have issued warnings. The emergency management authorities would have been able to carry out evacuation of the people. And we could have avoided most of the human casualties,” Taalas said at a press conference in Geneva.
Taalas said the WMO had been attempting to assist Libyan authorities in repairing their weather forecasting system for quite some time, but the effort was stymied by the abysmal “security situation” in the warlord- and terrorist-infested country.
Elon Musk, one of several tech tycoons who met lawmakers in Washington D.C. this week to discuss the burgeoning technology of AI, warned that intelligent machines have the potential to threaten all of human civilization.
The SpaceX and Tesla CEO joined Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella, Sam Altman and other leaders of the tech industry for a first-of-its-kind, private summit with Senators in D.C this week. The topic at hand: AI, and what to do about it.
“The consequences of AI going wrong are severe so we have to be proactive rather than reactive,” Musk told a press gaggle after attending what he called a “historic” meeting.
“The question is really one of civilizational risk. It’s not like … one group of humans versus another. It’s like, hey, this is something that’s potentially risky for all humans everywhere,” said Musk.
“There is some chance that is above zero that AI will kill us all. I think it’s low. But if there’s some chance, I think we should also consider the fragility of human civilization.”
A New York Times opinion writer is calling out liberals, whom he says ignore one specific factor contributing to child poverty.
“American liberals have led the campaign to reduce child poverty since Franklin Roosevelt, and it’s a proud legacy. But we have long had a blind spot,” Nicholas Kristof wrote in his article, published on Wednesday.
He continued:
We are often reluctant to acknowledge one of the significant drivers of child poverty — the widespread breakdown of family — for fear that to do so would be patronizing or racist. It’s an issue largely for working-class whites, Blacks and Hispanics, albeit most prevalent among African Americans. But just as you can’t have a serious conversation about poverty without discussing race, you also can’t engage unless you consider single-parent households.
Kristof gave one example, stating families led by single mothers are five times as likely to find themselves in a life of poverty when compared to families headed by a married couple.
In June 2022, the Republican Study Committee (RSC) shared a framework for what it hoped would be a red wave in the U.S. House of Representatives in November of that year, Breitbart News reported at the time.
The plan centered around strategies to “restore the American family.”
Members of Generation Z — those between the ages of 12 and 26 — in the United States “generally lack trust in political and societal institutions,” a new study from Gallup and the Walton Family Foundation found.
Among the institutions in the survey, Gen Z expressed the lowest level of trust in Congress, the news, the presidency, and large technology companies. Only one in six or fewer reported having “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of trust in each.
Likewise, fewer than one in four in this age group trust the U.S. Supreme Court, the criminal justice system, and the information they find on the internet. “Science” received the highest trust rating at 71 percent.
Opinions differ greatly among older Gen Z members, ages 18 to 26, depending on political affiliation. Republicans (71 percent) are much more likely than Democrats (12 percent) to have a great deal or quite a lot of trust in the police. Republicans are also much more likely to have greater trust in the military than Democrats are (62 percent to 14 percent).
In contrast, Democrats are more likely to trust science (92 percent) than Republicans are (50 percent).
Even so, young Republicans and Democrats are “more politically aligned” in their distrust of Congress, the information they find online, and large tech companies, according to the poll.
Household budgets were hit by rising grocery prices for the second consecutive month in August, data from the Department of Labor showed Wednesday.
The consumer price index for “food at home” rose 0.2 percent in August after climbing 0.3 percent in July. In June, grocery prices were more or less flat with the prior month.
Food prices have been on an almost relentless rise since Biden took office, with food inflation becoming a constant feature of the American economy after nearly a decade of m mostly stable prices. Prices for groceries have been up on a monthly basis in all but three months of Biden’s presidency.
The cumulative effect has been devastating for the budgets of many households. Since February 2021, food-at-home prices are up 19.6 percent.
Do you remember all the Democrats shrieking about kids in cages during the 2020 election? It was repeated by Biden, his supporters and people in media over and over again. A constant drum beat.
Here’s the harsh truth. They don’t care. They didn’t care then and they don’t care now.
It was nothing more than a line of attack against Trump. How do we know this? Simple. There are people being held in cages at the border right now under Biden and none of the Democrats are saying anything about it.
Now that so many businesses are fleeing crime-ridden Chicago, including grocery stores, the city’s new Mayor Brandon Johnson wants to open grocery stores that would be owned by the city.
What could possibly go wrong?
Does Johnson think that city owned stores won’t get robbed like privately owned supermarkets?
A bombshell report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has revealed that a staggering 120,000 American children “died suddenly” following the rollout of the mRNA Covid jabs.
The disturbing news has been greeted with silence by the mainstream media, who apparently do not consider the deaths of more than one hundred thousand American children to be of any consequence.
All through 2021, Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration and then-chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci continued to insist that the Covid jabs were “safe and effective” for all ages, and necessary for protecting kids from the virus, despite children only showing mild symptoms if any at all.
On December 11, 2020, the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine was granted emergency use authorization (EUA) for administration in individuals 16 years of age and older by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
On May 10, 2021, the FDA expanded the EUA for the use of the shots to include adolescents 12 through 15 years of age.
On June 17, 2022, the FDA authorized emergency use of the mRNA Covid vaccines from Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech to include use in children down to 6 months of age.
Just over a year on, the report – which was quietly released by CDC and subsequently suppressed by the mainstream media – revealed that nearly half a million children and young adults have now died since the injections were approved for use on most children.
In one his few public appearances since resigning in disgrace, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday night bashed the federal and state government’s response to New York City’s migrant crisis — and warned the issue is “going to hurt” Democrats politically.
Cuomo — who left office in August 2021 amid sexual misconduct accusations that he denies — received a warm welcome from a packed house at the Thomas Jefferson Democratic Club in Brooklyn, where he gave a nearly one-hour speech that centered on the government’s handling of immigration.
“This was a federal responsibility, period. First and foremost. Not the state, not the city. Immigration law is a federal responsibility,” Cuomo said.
The ex-governor said if he was in office, he’d march down to Washington and demand President Biden “take hold of this.”
Democratic Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis indicted President Donald Trump and 18 of his associates with frivolous charges in order to prevent the popular conservative and leading presidential candidate from running for reelection in 2024.
Willis and the Biden DOJ hope these charges stall President Trump from running and helps damage his name.
This is straight up election interference. Consider the irony, This D.A. is seeking to interfere with the 2024 elections by prosecuting those who sought to protect the 2020 elections.
Georgia Governor Kemp and the Georgia Legislature each have the power to act and they must do so now! We cannot have rogue Marxist prosecutors using frivolous lawsuits to alter our elections. A special session must be called and the Georgia Legislature must investigate this abuse of the criminal justice system.
So far, Republican leaders in Georgia have shied away from a special session of Congress to investigate these political prosecutions by Fani Willis.
Now, a group of conservative leaders is calling on Governor Kemp and the Georgia legislature to act.
Over 100 Catholic schools in Cleveland will no longer tolerate LGBTQ+ affiliation or behaviors.
Federal prosecutors have indicted Hunter Biden on gun charges, according to court documents.
Authorities sentenced a Washington man to 40 months in prison on Wednesday for his role in a plot to burn down the Seattle Police Officers Guild building during the Black Lives Matter riots in September 2020.
Parents in one Virginia school district continued to fight their school board in court this week to remove what they say is “racially divisive” curriculum content.
A study conducted by the US Centers for Disease Control and Food and Drug Administration has shown that the risk of myocarditis following mRNA COVID vaccination is around 133x greater than the background risk in the population.
This means Covid vaccination increases the risk of suffering myocarditis, an autoimmune disease causing inflammation of the heart, by 13,200%.
Fifty U.S. lawmakers have reintroduced the CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act to prohibit the Federal Reserve from issuing a retail Central Bank Digital Currency while protecting innovation and any future development of true digital cash. This is in direct opposition to the Globalists and the WEF agenda that seeks to enslave and remove all personal freedoms and privacy with CCP-style credit scores and surveillance.
U.S. Congressman Tom Emmer (R-MN) who has been a longtime advocate that any Fed-issued digital dollar (central bank digital currency) remain open, permissionless, and private announced on Tuesday that he and 49 other lawmakers have reintroduced the CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act “to halt the efforts of unelected bureaucrats in Washington D.C. from issuing a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) that dismantles Americans’ right to financial privacy.”
Even on the ONS's own data it's clear that there was never a 'pandemic of the unvaccinated' as the vast majority of deaths since the rollout have always been in the vaccinated, writes Nick Rendell.
China’s economy has been hit fresh turmoil after investors ditched £10billion ($12billion) in stocks, new data has shown.
Statistics shared by JPMorgan showed billions of dollars in Chinese stocks were sold in the month of August amid experts pointing to China’s dwindling economy.
Although strategists noted that Chinese stocks could improve in the fourth quarter should there be improvements in monetary policy, they said the third quarter had been marked by no strong moves.
More than 123,800 irregular migrants and asylum seekers have arrived in Italy this year, including more than 8,000 this week. European arrivals are up 13% year on year.
President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, has been indicted by special counsel David Weiss in connection with a gun he purchased in 2018.
The charges include making false statements on a federal firearms form and possession of a firearm as a prohibited person.
It’s an extraordinary turn of events after his original plea deal collapsed and potentially sets up a dramatic trial in the middle of his father’s 2024 reelection bid.
The White House thought the Hunter Biden legal drama would end this summer, but a plea deal reached with Weiss to resolve the matter without charges collapsed over the summer amid scrutiny from a federal judge. House Republicans have also announced an impeachment inquiry into the president in relation to Hunter Biden’s business ventures.
