Contra Zelensky’s grand claims, Ukraine is fighting for itself, not the West. In security terms, Ukraine never much mattered to America or Europe. The continent suffers economically from the war, but the U.S. has barely been affected. Although the conflict is a humanitarian disaster, it has caused fewer civilian casualties than Washington’s illegal invasion of Iraq and murderous support for Saudi Arabia’s attack on Yemen

These days there is much bloviation about the supposed danger of a victorious Putin turning into Hitler reborn. Unsurprisingly, perhaps, Zelensky promotes the most radical vision: “At the moment, it’s us, then Kazakhstan, then Baltic states, then Poland, then Germany. At least half of Germany.” Yet what would Moscow gain from such an attempt? A quarter century into his reign is a little late for Putin to try to amass an empire. He never said he wanted to reconstitute the Soviet Union, instead explicitly rebuffing such claims. Anyway, such a campaign is improbable if not impossible, given the cost of Russia’s war with Ukraine.

A fire at a battery storage facility in Otay Mesa is out — but the stubborn nature of the blaze has sparked opposition from some residents about the relative safety of at least three other battery projects that developers want to build in other parts of San Diego County.

Renewable energy supporters say battery facilities are essential to meet California’s goals to develop a carbon-free electric grid. State policymakers and battery companies say the risk of future fires will decrease over time, counting on technological improvements in battery chemistries and better designs at the facilities housing the batteries.

“My hope is that these projects continue to move forward, concerns are addressed and people really understand that we need these types of projects here in our region,” said Jason Anderson, CEO of CleanTech San Diego, a business association that promotes renewable energy growth.

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said on this week’s broadcast of FNC’s “Fox News Sunday” that President Joe Biden could be criminally prosecuted for the murder of nursing student Laken Riley if the Supreme Court does not rule there is presidential immunity.

Graham said, “The border is beyond broken. You have wars in Ukraine. You have the Mideast on fire. When it comes to enforcing the law, Joe Biden has been beyond reckless. He’s taken a parole statute that’s limited in nature and has given a million people parole when, on average, the Trump and [Obama] administrations gave 5,600 people parole. Laken Riley’s murderer was paroled because they had lack of capacity in El Paso.”

A New York Post article in June reported that welfare offices and other government agencies in 49 states were providing voter registration forms to migrants without requiring proof of citizenship.

Of course, this is complete lawlessness, and it is being facilitated by government officials. Illegal aliens have no rights at all to vote in US elections.

Elon Musk weighed in on this corrupt practice earlier today.

Russia has deployed a new anti-drone robot named after Disney’s rubbish-collecting Wall-E.

The unmanned vehicle is designed to produce an invisible dome that jams aerial drone attacks and protects troops on the ground.

The machine uses electronic warfare blockers, Russian state TV said, in the latest advancement to keep away kamikaze drones that have been pivotal to the war for Ukraine.

The ground robot is fitted with a so-called “fumigator” electronic warfare system, which can disrupt the signal between a drone and its operator, often rendering unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) useless.

Russian officials have issued a statement confirming that multiple drone strikes overnight in eastern Syria, near the Iraqi border. The strikes killed multiple, and included an attack on a cargo truck traveling through the region, killing a member of Iraq’s Sayyed al-Shuhada Brigades.

The reports are that MQ-1C multi-purpose drones were used. The United States has not commented on its apparent involvement in the attacks. The US-led Global Anti-Terrorism Coalition denied that any drone operations took place, despite multiple reports of the attacks.

One of the strikes hit a group which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights labeled “pro-Iran fighters,” though two of the slain were identified as Iraqis, and the third has not yet been identified.

The attacks took place in and around al-Bukamal, a key city at the border crossing between Syria and Iraq. That main strike was at a military base, causing an explosion that was heard throughout the area.

The White House has grown anxious about Benjamin Netanyahu’s upcoming address to a joint session of Congress, believing the Israeli prime minister could use the forum to criticize President Joe Biden for not supporting the retaliation against Hamas in Gaza enough.

The speech next month could create a diplomatically complicated and politically dicey spectacle for a president running for reelection. Fears among West Wing aides have grown in recent days as Netanyahu has made a series of public statements — including one in a video address delivered in English — accusing the administration of withholding more military aid than has been publicly disclosed.

“[Netanyahu’s] video this week was not helpful at all,” said one senior official, who was granted anonymity to speak candidly about internal deliberations. “And he could make it far worse up there in front of Congress.”

The Israeli defense minister Gallant is traveling to the US to discuss the next stage of the wars in Gaza and Lebanon. Washington is pushing for Tel Aviv to bring the conflicts to an end, while the Israeli prime minister Netanyahu is demanding more weapons from the US.

A prosecutor at the International Criminal Court is seeking an arrest warrant for Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant

Before leaving for his visit to the US, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant indicated that Tel Aviv may want to reduce operations in Gaza in preparation for a larger war with Hezbollah in Lebanon. Since Israel began its onslaught in Gaza, Israeli forces have traded tit-for-tat attacks with the militant group.

The fighting between Hezbollah and Israel has displaced hundreds of thousands, killed nearly 500 in Lebanon, and caused over two dozen deaths in Israel.

Claire's Observations; were I a betting person, I would almost be willing to bet that there will be more US troops on the ground in Israel right after the November election, no matter which candidate becomes President.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has indicated that he is open to a “partial” deal that would facilitate the return of some captives still held in Gaza, even if not all.

He reiterated, however, that he would not agree to any deal that stipulated an end to Israel’s war on Gaza, despite previous claims by the United States that an Israeli proposal would be a pathway to ending the offensive.

The Biden campaign is set to launch a $50 million ad campaign in June, targeting swing states with a focus on Donald Trump’s criminal conviction. This decision follows two major fundraisers, one in New York City raising $26 million and another in Los Angeles raising $28 million. Despite these substantial amounts, they fall short compared to Trump’s fundraising achievements, including $53 million raised within 24 hours after a New York City verdict and over $420 million in total since then.

The Biden campaign, which once enjoyed a financial edge, is now struggling to compete with Trump’s fundraising prowess. The planned ad buy will aim at Black, Hispanic, and Asian American voters, groups Biden has had difficulty securing. However, the strategy has drawn criticism for potentially wasting funds on a theme that may not resonate with the electorate.

Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) has come under fire for his remarks on recent Supreme Court rulings related to gun control, particularly those concerning bump stocks and the Second Amendment. During an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union”, Murphy expressed alarm that the court’s decisions could hinder Congress from implementing basic gun control measures, such as mandatory background checks and removing AR-15s from public streets.

Murphy’s comments regarding the Republican administration’s initial bump stock ban and the Supreme Court’s subsequent ruling to overturn it have sparked controversy. Critics argue that Murphy misinterprets the issue, noting that the Supreme Court’s decision was based on the overreach of a federal agency, not a direct attack on the Second Amendment.

In his effort to prevent future tragedies like Sandy Hook, Murphy has advocated for stricter gun laws. However, opponents argue that his proposed laws would not enhance safety and might even reduce it. They highlight that personal firearms are used to prevent crimes between 500,000 and 2.8 million times a year, suggesting that more restrictive laws could leave citizens vulnerable.

Boeing faces a critical challenge as engineers race to resolve multiple issues with the company’s Starliner spacecraft, which has delayed the return of two NASA astronauts from the International Space Station (ISS). The astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, were initially scheduled to return on June 13 but remain stranded due to ongoing technical problems.

The Starliner, docked to the ISS’s Harmony module, is experiencing significant issues, including five helium leaks and thruster malfunctions. These problems have led to a third delay in the astronauts’ return trip, with a reported 45-day window to safely bring them back to Earth.

The most pressing concern is the limited fuel available in the Harmony module, which narrows the safe return window. The thruster failures and helium leaks discovered during the 25-hour flight to the ISS have compounded the challenges faced by Boeing engineers. Mark Nappi, Boeing’s Starliner program manager, acknowledged the issues, stating, “We’ve learned that our helium system is not performing as designed.”

I think we are on the cusp of a major escalation in the war in Ukraine, with U.S. assets likely to be targeted in the coming days. It is one thing for Ukraine to hit military targets inside Russia, but Ukraine’s attack with U.S. supplied missiles today on tourists sunbathing on the beaches of Sevastopol breached a Russian-redline that is likely to provoke a significant Russian response, which will include targeting U.S. reconnaissance aircraft operating in the Black Sea and the Baltic Ocean. And that is for starters.

Here is the Russian Ministry of Defense announcement about the attack:

The Ukrainian military launched several US-made ATACMS long-range missiles armed with highly controversial cluster munitions on Russia’s Crimea on Sunday, resulting in numerous civilian casualties, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said.

The strike was first reported by Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev. He said that the attack killed at least three people, including two children. The death toll later rose to four. According to Russia’s Health Ministry, 124 people were injured, including 27 children.

While Washington says it’s only halted one arms shipment, it has also altered procedures for military aid to Israel in recent months by Will Porter

The Joe Biden administration recently ended a policy which expedited arms transfers to Tel Aviv, a US official told the Times of Israel. The comments come after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the United States of withholding lethal aid amid the months-long onslaught in Gaza.

The unnamed American official revealed the policy shift to TOI on Sunday, explaining that while US weapons are currently being sent at a “normal pace,” Biden had scaled back the fast-tracked shipments that were more common earlier in the Gaza war

Claire's Observations:  Forgive me, but what is "normal pace weapons delivery" to a country committing genocide of its minority residents?!?

There is a shipment of 3,000 munitions for "Israel" personally halted by US President Joe Biden, and Israeli Security Minister Yoav Gallant is in Washington in an attempt to resolve this issue, Israeli media reported on Sunday.

Earlier this week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the US in a video statement of "withholding weapons and ammunitions to Israel." In response, US officials said they were not aware of what the Israeli premier was referring to, and White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby said Netanyahu's remarks were "perplexing to say the least, certainly disappointing."

Nir Dvori, the military affairs correspondent for the Israeli Channel 12, highlighted that more than 400 weapon shipments have arrived in "Israel" by air and sea since the start of the war, as per the Israeli security and military establishment's figures.

According to Dvori, in the initial months of the war, the US shipments arrived at a very high pace, corresponding with the use of munitions in Gaza and other areas. He noted that later, there had been a slowdown, not a stoppage in the delivery of such shipments.

Britain is experimenting with new drone technology that Israel’s military uses in Gaza. The British army conducted exercises on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire to test a drone made by Israeli tech firm Xtend in December.

Hundreds of Xtend’s small drones are being used by Israeli forces in Gaza. They enable soldiers to launch grenades and scan tunnels and buildings without having to risk their own lives.

Xtend’s drones are being used for the first time in the war and the company is reported to be collaborating with an Israeli military unit, the Yiftah, to develop “special weapons”.

A “warhead has been developed that is mounted on these drones thus transforming them into a weapon (suicide drone)”, one report notes.

After the second world war British planners were confronted by the outbreak of a Jewish uprising in Palestine, which the UK had run since securing a ‘mandate’ from the then League of Nations in 1922.

This uprising led to a series of momentous events that shape the present-day Middle East: the British decision in February 1947 to withdraw from Palestine, the UN’s decree in November 1947 to partition the territory, the Jewish declaration of the state of Israel in May 1948 and the first Arab–Israeli war, in which Israeli forces annexed much of Palestine by December of that year.

British nationals are serving in some of Israel’s “craziest” combat units in Gaza where they view Palestinian fighters as “rats” and “animals”.

The soldiers have pledged to “kill these sons of whores” and “start pummelling them again.”

Declassified has gathered names and photographs of 15 Britons who have recently fought for Israel, and has partially identified another 10.

They are among at least 80 U.K. nationals who the Foreign Office knows to have enlisted in the IDF but is doing nothing to stop.

One of the soldiers, master sergeant Sam Sank, filmed himself fighting in Gaza between December 2023 and January 2024.

Declassified showed the footage to open source intelligence analyst Alysia Alexandra who located the neighbourhood where it was taken.

A senior US envoy has traveled to Vietnam for diplomatic talks just days after Russian President Vladimir Putin made a state visit to the Southeast Asian country.

Daniel Kritenbrink, the assistant US secretary of state for East Asia and Pacific affairs, insisted on Saturday that his trip was not related to the Russian delegation’s visit on Thursday. In fact, he told reporters in Hanoi that trust between the US and Vietnam is at an “all-time high.”

Kritenbrink’s comments came less than one week after the US Embassy in Hanoi rebuked the Vietnamese government for daring to host talks with Putin at a time when the Russia-Ukraine conflict is raging. “No country should give Putin a platform to promote his war of aggression and otherwise allow him to normalize his atrocities,” an embassy spokesperson told Reuters on Monday.

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council has put an equal mark between the US authorities, the bandera regime and "insane fanatics."

"What happened is not military actions but a sneaky and vile terrorist attack against our people; moreover, it occurred on an Orthodox holiday, just like the massacre that extremists had carried out in Dagestan. Which is why now we do not differentiate between any of them, whether it is the American authorities, bandera regime or insane fanatics," he wrote on his Telegram channel, commenting on Ukraine’s missile strike on Sevastopol and militants’ attack on Derbent.

"The US bastards are supplying banderovtsy with cluster munitions and help them to take aim at targets. The Kiev bastards are choosing a beach filled with civilians as their target and press the button. Both will burn in hell; hopefully, not just in the sacral flames, but even before that, in the earthly fire," he wrote.

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has joined fighters from Ukraine’s notorious neo-Nazi Azov unit to pose for a photo while holding a banner bearing a symbol associated with the Third Reich’s SS.

The controversy erupted on Wednesday when several members of the Azov brigade, widely known for its neo-Nazi ideology and outlawed in Russia, were greeted by British MPs as part of a roundtable discussion on the return of the unit’s prisoners of war in the UK Parliament.

Founded as a neo-Nazi militia in 2014, Azov was a key participant in the fighting in Donbass prior to the outbreak of full-blown hostilities in 2022. During this time it was accused by the UN and several human rights organizations of engaging in torture, rape, and looting. It was eventually integrated into Ukraine’s National Guard, and in 2023 was expanded to a brigade.

Russians of Jewish and Orthodox Christian faith are united in mourning for the people killed on Sunday in the southern republic of Dagestan, Patriarch Kirill, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, has said. The militants who targeted the places of worship obviously meant to incite sectarian hatred and had “diabolic” intent, he added.

“Everything possible must be done to prevent even the possibility of radicalization of religious life, to exclude any forms of extremism and ethnic enmity,” the Patriarch said.

The spree of violence took place in the regional capital, Makhachkala, and the city of Derbent, 120km to the south on the Caspian Sea. In each city, a synagogue and an Orthodox church were targeted, presumably in coordinated strikes. In another assault, a police station came under gunfire.

Below is a typical example of how on Sunday June 23rd, the Rothschild owned Associated Press generates war propaganda by twisting everything upside-down:

The Russian leader [Vladimir Putin] is willing to challenge Western interests like never before. The pact that he signed with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un envisions mutual military assistance between Moscow and Pyongyang if either is attacked. Putin also announced for the first time that Russia could provide weapons to the isolated country, a move that could destabilize the Korean Peninsula and reverberate far beyond.

After the Western puppets are stupid enough to deliberately provoke World War III for years now as a direct existential threat to the Russian homeland, trespassing one Moscow red line after another, now when Putin is at the limit putting up with the West’s nonstop policy of provocation for decades, he has finally realized he must retaliate directly against the West. While Western MSM liars accuse him of “challenging Western interests like never before,” all Putin is doing is implementing the same things that US/West has been forever doing. For years, the Russian leader has shown remarkable restraint while over the last quarter century the West has not only falsely demonized him, but taken gross advantage of his cooler head prevailing by misjudging it as weakness.

Israeli tanks at edge of Rafah's al-Mawasi refuge zone, residents say

On Saturday, Palestinian health officials said at least 40 Palestinians had been killed in separate Israeli strikes in some northern Gaza districts.

Residents reported seeing Israeli tanks near al-Mawasi, where thousands are sheltering on Gaza's coastline [GETTY]

Israeli tanks advanced to the edge of al-Mawasi displaced persons' camp in the northwest of the southern Gaza city of Rafah on Sunday in fierce fighting with Hamas-led fighters, residents said.

Images of two Israeli tanks stationed on a hilltop overlooking the coastal area went viral on social media, but Reuters could not independently verify them.

"The fighting with the resistance has been intense. The occupation forces are overlooking the Mawasi area now, which forced families there to head for Khan Younis," said one resident, who asked not to be named, on a chat app.

More than eight months into Israel's war in the Hamas-administered Palestinian enclave, its advance is focused on the two areas its forces have yet to seize: Rafah on Gaza's southern tip and the area surrounding Deir al-Balah in the centre.

Tel Aviv carried out several attacks across the Gaza Strip this weekend. On Saturday, Gaza’s Health Ministry said more than 100 Palestinians were killed, along with 169 others wounded, in 24 hours amid various strikes. This was the deadliest day in the Strip since the June 8 massacre on the Nuseirat refugee camp, which slaughtered at least 274 Palestinians and wounded hundreds more. A UN facility was hit on Sunday, killing at least four people.

On Friday, the IDF bombarded areas in southern Gaza near the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) base at the al-Mawasi camp, a location Tel Aviv claimed was a safe zone for displaced Palestinians following its invasion of Rafah. Palestinian officials say two Israeli strikes killed a minimum of 25 people and wounded 50 others, the Associated Press reported. The victims were among hundreds of Palestinians sheltering in tents outside the ICRC office.
