Some Wall Street banks, worried that landlords of vacant and struggling office buildings won’t be able to pay off their mortgages, have begun offloading their portfolios of commercial real estate loans hoping to cut their losses.

It’s an early but telling sign of the broader distress brewing in the commercial real estate market, which is hurting from the twin punches of high interest rates, which make it harder to refinance loans, and low occupancy rates for office buildings — an outcome of the pandemic.

Israel’s Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled unanimously that the military must begin drafting ultra-Orthodox men for compulsory service, a landmark decision that could lead to the collapse of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s governing coalition as Israel continues to wage war in Gaza.

The historic ruling effectively puts an end to a decades-old system that granted ultra-Orthodox men broad exemptions from military service while maintaining mandatory enlistment for the country’s secular Jewish majority. The arrangement, deemed discriminatory by critics, has created a deep chasm in Israel’s Jewish majority over who should shoulder the burden of protecting the country.

The court struck down a law that codified exemptions in 2017, but repeated court extensions and government delaying tactics over a replacement dragged out a resolution for years. The court ruled that in the absence of a law, Israel’s compulsory military service applies to the ultra-Orthodox like any other citizen.

NASA has delayed the return of two astronauts from the International Space Station (ISS) for the third time, raising concerns the crew could be 'stranded.'

Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams were initially scheduled for a nine-day stay, which  was pushed back twice this month and now sits at an undetermined date.

The extended stay is to allow more time for review of technical issues encountered by the capsule as it traveled to the ISS, which included thruster failures and leaking valves, Boeing said in a statement.

DailyMail.com spoke with several experts who said that NASA could be forced to launch a rescue mission, and could tap Elon Musk's SpaceX to carry it out.

Webmaster addition: How did Boeing go from being a leader in aviation to making such junk?

China has once again made spaceflight history as its lunar lander returns to Earth with the first rock samples from the far side of the moon.

The Chinese lunar probe Chang'e-6 touched down in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region at 06:07 GMT (14:07 Beijing time) this morning.

Chang'e-6 brought its precious cargo back to Earth after a months-long journey to the largely unexplored far side of the moon.

It returned with it up to 4.4 lbs (2kg) of rocky lunar regolith collected by drill from the moon's South Pole-Aitken basin.

Tucker Carlson has over 3.7 million followers on Instagram. On X, he has nearly 13 million followers. While his following on X is likely far more significant because it is the ostensibly less censorious platform where Carlson routinely uploads episodes of his new show, there may be another reason to account for the delta.

Ashton DeGroot, Blaze Media's social media content coordinator, observed Monday that following Carlson is no easy feat on the Meta platform.

A perfunctory search for Carlson failed to turn up his verified account. Instead, impersonators and fan accounts flooded the results. After multiple tries, it appeared clear that Carlson's verified account would only appear if his exact handle, @TuckerCarlson, was entered into the search bar.

Upon finding Carlson's account, DeGroot found that Instagram put up one last barrier to engagement, imploring prospective followers to reconsider.

The pop-up reads, "Are you sure you want to follow tuckercarlson?"

Igor Istomin Explains How the West Has Caused the Kremlin to Expect Russia to be Attacked and how the resulting dynamic is likely to result in war. https://www.rt.com/russia/599654-nato-attack-russia-attitude/

It is extraordinary that Putin still does not understand that as long as he allows the conflict with Ukraine to fester, the more certain it is that Western involvement will result in the NATO bloc at war with Russia.

To repeat myself for the hundredth time, the limited military operation in Donbas was a strategic blunder that will end in World War III. What was required was a quick decisive Russian victory before the West could get involved.

A fait accompli was needed. Instead, Putin chose a lengthy, ever widening conflict. This did not save lives. It maximized the expenditure of lives and the count is far from over.

Since 2013, the Central African Republic has been plagued with one of the most serious insecurity crisis, experienced by any African country. According to the reports, since the country gained Independence in 1960, it has been no stranger to insecurity and violence, however, the recent conflict, which brings new reports every day of atrocities committed and suffered by the masses, started in 2013 when several armed groups from the North of the country formed a coalition known as the Séléka. This group then launched a rebellion which resulted in a coup that removed the then President François Bozizé from power and the Séléka leader Michel Djotodia proclaimed himself President. Michael didn't stay long as President, however, because other armed groups opposed the Seleka and fighting began anew and the country was divided into different factions controlled by the Seleka and those who opposed them. Now, even though somehow an election was conducted both in 2016 and 2020, which brought in the current President Faustin, Archange Touadere into power, the fighting and violence continued because the main rebel factions organized by the former President Bozize came together to form an alliance to oppose the election and the current administration.

A new May 4 report by independent researcher, Virginia Stoner, reveals US vaccine-death figures. The report is titled, “The Deadly Covid-19 Vaccine Coverup.”

Stoner uses the US government’s own numbers.

Here are key quotes from her report:

“There has been a massive increase in deaths reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) this year. That’s not a ‘conspiracy theory’, that’s an indisputable fact.”

“We’re talking about a huge and unprecedented increase—so massive that in the last 4 months alone, VAERS has received over 40% of all death reports it has ever received in its entire 30+year history.”

“The increase in VAERS death reports is not due to more vaccination.”

“Most recently, the death count went from 2794 on April 5, to 3005 on April 12, to 3848 on April 26…. 1054 deaths in 21 days.”

“One hypothesis… is that the elderly and infirm, many in long-term care facilities, were the first to be targeted by the COVID-19 vaccine campaign, and they are much more likely to die coincidentally. These coincidental deaths then lead to an increase in suspected vaccine-induced deaths reported to VAERS.”

In response to a deadly strike on the Crimean Peninsula that killed four and wounded over 100, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Washington had effectively become a party to the war, and Moscow would “certainly” retaliate. The Kremlin says American missiles were used in the attack.

On Monday, the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the US ambassador to express outrage over Sunday’s attack on Crimea. The Kremlin claims that American ATACMS missiles were used, that Washington provided intelligence to Kiev to coordinate the attack, and that a US drone was operating near Sevastopol when the assault on civilian targets took place.

According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, the US “has effectively become a party” to the war on Ukraine’s side, adding, “Retaliatory measures will certainly follow.”

Ukraine’s government has urged its Western sponsors to allow local troops to strike deeper inside Russia with foreign-supplied weapons. The United States once barred such operations, but has since authorized attacks along Russia’s border.

Writing on his official Telegram channel on Sunday, President Volodymyr Zelensky boasted that Ukrainian forces had downed a pair of Russian Kalibr missiles along with two-dozen other projectiles over the last 24 hours, but warned “Russian terror is not slowing down.”

“Therefore we must increase our pressure – by all methods and together with our partners,” he added. “We have enough determination to destroy terrorists on their territory – it is fair. And we need the same determination from our partners. We can stop Russia.”

European Union foreign ministers have approved, for the first time, the transfer of approximately €1.4 billion ($1.5 billion) in military and financial aid to Kiev, using interest profits drawn from frozen Russian central bank assets. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell made the announcement on Monday, as reports say Washington is preparing to send Ukraine another arms package worth $150 million. The EU also imposed a raft of sanctions on Russia along with entities in China, Turkey, and India.

Given Kiev’s long-range missile strikes into Crimea over the weekend, the EU’s plan comes amid dangerous developments in NATO’s Ukraine proxy war. Russia accuses Ukrainian forces of using US-supplied Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS), with a range of nearly 200 miles, and satellite imagery for the attack, which killed at least four people and wounded more than 100. Russia’s Foreign Ministry declared Washington “has effectively become a party” to the war now and threatened “retaliatory measures.”

For almost a year, Budapest has vetoed further funding of Kiev’s war effort using an off-budget fund known as the European Peace Facility (EPF) worth €6 billion. Another fund holding €5 billion is blocked as well. Borrell referred to this “structural difficulty” during a presser following the foreign ministers meeting in Luxembourg. Using interest profits off seized Russian assets was seen as a workable alternative. Such international theft marks an unprecedented escalation in the economic war targeting Russia. Earlier this month, G7 leaders agreed to provide Ukraine with $50 billion by the end of the year using stolen Russian funds.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he will only agree to a partial deal with Hamas that allows him to restart the assault after a pause to exchange hostages. The remarks show that Netanyahu is unwilling to sign on to an agreement proposed by President Joe Biden.

On Sunday night, speaking with Channel 14, Netanyahu said he was “prepared to make a partial deal — this is no secret — that will return to us some of the people.” He continued, “But we are committed to continuing the war after a pause, in order to complete the goal of eliminating Hamas. I’m not willing to give up on that.”

An official who spoke with Channel 12, conveyed the partial deal is the best offer Hamas will get from Tel Aviv. “The mediators are unable to convey the idea to Hamas that there will be no better deal than the one proposed by Israel,” the source explained. “We have reached a situation where there is no movement. Israel has gone as far as it can go. President Biden has adopted the proposal.”

Top Israeli officials have laid out plans to reduce military operations in Gaza to gear up for a war with Hezbollah in Lebanon. US military officials have warned that Tel Aviv’s missile defense could be overwhelmed, and Iran may enter the war. Countries around the globe are instructing their citizens to avoid Lebanon.

On Sunday, Netanyahu explained to Israeli Channel 14 that, “After the intense phase is finished [in Gaza], we will have the possibility to move part of the forces north. And we will do this, first and foremost, for defensive purposes. And secondly, to bring our (evacuated) residents’ home.” He went on to tell the outlet “If we can, we will do this diplomatically. If not, we will do it another way. But we will bring (the residents) home.”

Netanyahu did not provide a timeline, only stating the intense operations in Gaza will soon come to a close. At the same time, the Israeli leader has ruled out ending the war in the Strip, stating he will not halt the onslaught until Hamas is eliminated and “Iran’s intentions to destroy us” have been naturalized.

Save the Children issued a startling new report suggesting that 21,000 Gazan children are missing as the Israeli onslaught drags on. Aside from those unaccounted for, at least 14,000 children have been confirmed killed.

The report stated that in the chaos of war, it is hard to locate missing children, but some are thought to be separated from their parents while others are buried under the rubble or in mass graves.

“At least 17,000 children are believed to be unaccompanied and separated and approximately 4,000 children are likely missing under the rubble, with an unknown number also in mass graves,” the agency’s press release explained. “Others have been forcibly disappeared, including an unknown number detained and forcibly transferred out of Gaza.”

“No parent should have to dig through rubble or mass graves to try and find their child’s body. No child should be alone, unprotected in a war zone. No child should be detained or held hostage,” said Save the Children’s regional director for the Middle East, Jeremy Stoner. “Gaza has become a graveyard for children, with thousands of others missing, their fates unknown. There must be an independent investigation and those responsible must be held accountable.”

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Monday that Ukraine has hit more than 30 Russian oil processing and storage facilities.

The Ukrainian military has stepped up attacks on Russian oil infrastructure this year, seeking to disrupt oil supplies to the Russian army and curb Moscow's revenues to finance its war against Ukraine.

"More than 30 oil refineries, terminals, and oil depots of the terrorist state have been hit," Zelenskiy told officers of Special Operations Centre "A" of the State Security Service (SBU) involved in attacks.

He did not provide any additional details or give a time period. A video of his address was shared on his account on X.

Ukraine has been using its long-range drones, developed both by military intelligence and the SBU, for the strikes.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Monday he had replaced the commander of the Joint Forces of Ukraine's Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Yuri Sodol, after reports surfaced that he had performed badly in the 28-month-old war against Russia.

Zelenskiy, speaking in his nightly video address, gave no reason for the dismissal. He said Sodol had been replaced by Brigadier-General Andriy Hnatov in the post, which involves strategic planning of operations.

Sodol's removal, one of a series of personnel changes, followed publication of a letter by the head of Ukraine's revered Azov regiment, Bohdan Krotevych, in which he alleged that Sodol's actions had led to serious military setbacks.

In a post on the Telegram messaging app, Krotevych did not identify Sodol by name, but said an unnamed general "has killed more Ukrainian soldiers than any Russian general."

Polish President Andrzej Duda said on Monday during a visit to Beijing that he hoped China would help find a solution for peace in Ukraine that respects international law.

China did not attend a Ukraine peace summit organised in Switzerland this month, saying it did not meet its expectations that included both Russia and Ukraine taking part. Russia, which launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, was not invited and denounced the gathering as a sham.

Diplomats told Reuters this month that China had been lobbying governments with an alternative peace plan for Ukraine.

"I presented our point of view on the security situation in Europe and the world, above all in our part of Europe," Duda told reporters after a meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.

"I hope that China will... support efforts to strive for a peaceful end to the war waged by Russia in Ukraine," he said, adding that any such peace must respect international law and Ukraine's internationally recognised borders.

Webmaster addition: That is not going to happen and I don't see China reacting positively to being treated like a messenger.

A state commission of inquiry investigating the so-called submarine affair on Monday sent warning notices to five individuals it believes may be negatively impacted by the probe, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Navy chief Ram Rothberg, in order to allow them to submit additional testimony and view evidence relating to their conduct.

Netanyahu, the commission charged, took decisions that endangered national security and harmed Israel’s foreign relations.

The commission, formed under former premier Naftali Bennett in 2022, has spent more than two years probing submarine and naval vessel purchases that occurred under a previous Netanyahu government.

Israel purchased the vessels from German shipbuilder Thyssenkrupp in a series of murky deals worth some $2 billion that have been under scrutiny for possible corruption and bribery.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken appeared to caution Israel against launching a major offensive against Hezbollah during his meeting on Tuesday with visiting Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

Blinken “underscored the importance of avoiding further escalation of the conflict and reaching a diplomatic resolution that allows both Israeli and Lebanese families to return to their homes,” the State Department said in its readout on the secretary’s meeting with Gallant.

The top US diplomat’s warning was the latest from a top Biden official, as the administration seeks to prevent a full-fledged war between Israel and Hezbollah, which began launching near-daily attacks on the north following Hamas’s October 7 onslaught.

"We, the People" have more power than we know - The Idaho farmers are going to be able to water their crops this year after all thanks to the outcry of the citizens of Idaho. BUT - get ready because those who are buying up the land are trying to starve farmers out of business- Additionally those in the so-called "Green" industry could not care less about whether Americans have enough food for the table - so next year - they will try to create a monopoly again. Green energy is not capable of energizing this country, and certainly not worth starving the American people for.

Nigel Farage has hit back at Boris Johnson after the former prime minister accused the Reform UK leader of a “morally repugnant” repetition of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s justification for the invasion of Ukraine.

The Reform UK leader addressed crowds in Maidstone, Kent, while on the campaign trail, saying that he would “never, ever defend” Mr Putin and that he had been “more far-sighted” in predicting a war in Ukraine.

Mr Farage, who has been criticised for saying the West “provoked” the war in Ukraine, told the crowd: “I was alone, I was the only person in 2014 who said there will be a war in Ukraine. I can’t take those words away and nor would I want to.”
