Well, if there was any doubt former Twitter heads were lovers of all things woke…
New Twitter CEO Elon Musk shared a video on Tuesday showing a closet filled with #StayWoke t-shirts that he discovered at Twitter HQ —hundreds of shirts with the slogan available in multiple colors.
Musk seemingly finds the whole thing hilarious.
According to Not The Bee, “The phrase ‘Stay Woke’ was mainstreamed after the Ferguson riots in 2014, when the media ran with the lie that black teen Michael Brown said ‘Hands up, don’t shoot’ before he was brutally murdered by a white cop.”
“The truth, of course, is that Brown was attacking the officer and never said those words, but the word ‘woke’ was used as a badge of honor for the new cult that wanted to use Brown’s death as a flashpoint to give America a communist makeover.”
GOP groups have requested that Georgia’s Supreme Court prohibit early voting this Saturday in the state’s runoff Senate election, arguing that state law dictates that early voting can’t take place on that day because it follows the Thanksgiving holiday.
Dr. Anthony Fauci is all but finished “serving” the American people in the federal government, but before he departs to most likely make boatloads of money with books and movies, he had one final lecture for the United States.
Ukraine's energy operator Energoatom has announced Wednesday emergency power shutdowns in effect across all regions of the country amid a new large wave of Russian airstrikes. Sirens have been sounding throughout the day across the country.
President Volodymyr Zelensky in follow-up estimated that 10 million Ukrainians now lack access to electricity due to the attacks. "There are emergency shutdowns in addition to planned, stabilization ones," he explained. "The elimination of the consequences of another missile attack against Ukraine continues all day."
Casualties have been reported in the eastern cities of Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia, and at least one person has been reported killed in Kiev. Speaking of the renewed attacks on the capital, Mykhailo Podolyak, head of the Office of the Ukrainian President’s office said, "A new massive attack on infrastructure facilities is underway."
He described, citing recent anti-air defense systems acquired from Western countries, "While someone is waiting for World Cup results and the number of goals scored, Ukrainians are waiting for another score – number of intercepted Russian missiles. A new massive attack on infrastructure facilities is underway. In NASAMS, IRIS-T and Air Defense Forces we trust."
Kiev's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, issued an emergency message on social media warning that ongoing Russian strikes are "Hitting one of the capital’s infrastructure facilities. Stay in shelters! The air alert continues." Also alarming is that the mayor in a follow-up message said that water services have been suspended in Kiev after the major strikes.
In his March 21 press briefing, State Department spokesman Ned Price told the gathered reporters that “President Zelenskyy has also made it very clear that he is open to a diplomatic solution that does not compromise the core principles at the heart of the Kremlin’s war against Ukraine.” A reporter asked Price, “What are you saying about your support for a negotiated settlement à la Zelenskyy, but on whose principles?” In what still may be the most remarkable statement of the war, Price responded, “this is a war that is in many ways bigger than Russia, it’s bigger than Ukraine.”
A month later, in April, when a settlement seemed to be within reach at the Istanbul talks, the US and UK again pressured Ukraine not to pursue their own goals and sign an agreement that could have ended the war. They again pressured Ukraine to continue to fight in pursuit of the larger goals of the US and its allies. Then British prime minister Boris Johnson scolded Zelensky that Putin "should be pressured, not negotiated with." He added that, even if Ukraine was ready to sign some agreements with Russia, the West was not.”
From the onset of the Ukraine war, the corporate media, politicians, and all the controlled NGOs throughout America and Western Europe were lockstep in their claim that the Russian military action in eastern Ukraine was unprovoked and unjustified—an act of aggression that could not be allowed to stand.
There was one problem with this propaganda blitz: it was totally untrue. The Deep State—the government elites, intelligence community, and the military establishment—has spent decades threatening and provoking Russia by pushing NATO up against their border.
You do not have to like Russia to see this, and you can detest Vladimir Putin until the cows come home. The fundamental issue remains the same: the Russians view NATO on their border as an act of aggression and a threat to their national security, and we have known this for decades.
Eleven major metropolitan areas in the United States saw median rental rates decline last month, according to an analysis from real estate brokerage Redfin, as economic headwinds and inflationary pressures discourage renters from moving.
From November 15 to 16, the G20 Summit took place in Indonesia, and contrary to Western attempts, Russia was an active and welcomed participant. On the eve of the Summit, the US called for Russia to be isolated, however, what transpired in Bali instead did not live up to Washington’s expectations – the Russian delegation, led by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, was not abandoned despite all efforts and attempts.
Rather, the experienced Russian Foreign Minister was received at the Indonesian holiday island with red carpets and an Honour Guard on the runway. Even a traditional dance was performed for him. In this way, even Lavrov’s reception made it clear that the Russian delegation was a welcomed party to the G20. It is noted that not even US President Joe Biden was welcomed in the same way as Lavrov.
None-the-less, there were still attempts to tarnish Lavrov’s mission in Bali, with the AP news agency falsely claiming that Russia’s top diplomat was hospitalised. This news was then disseminated all over Western media, proving that Western media only wants to take advantage of any situation to spread false information against Russia.
The National Hockey League took some heat over a Tuesday tweet promoting a transgender and non-binary hockey tournament — and a follow-up comment asserting, “Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Nonbinary identity is real.”
“Turkey does continue to suffer a legitimate terrorist threat, particularly to their south. They certainly have every right to defend themselves and their citizens,” National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters.
Turkey launched the strikes in response to a bombing in Istanbul that killed six people, which it blamed on the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) and its Syrian affiliates, including the US-backed SDF. The operations killed members of the SDF, and they reportedly responded by firing rockets into a Turkish district near the Syrian border.
Ukrainian authorities have begun evacuating civilians from recently liberated sections of the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, fearing that a lack of heat, power and water due to Russian shelling will make conditions too unlivable this winter.
Authorities urged residents of the two southern regions, which Russian forces have been shelling for months, to move to safer areas in the central and western parts of the country.
The Supreme Court paved the way on Tuesday for House Democrats to obtain former President Donald Trump’s taxes, denying a request from Trump’s legal team that he be permitted to withhold them from a congressional committee.
Top defense officials in Europe say arms shortages among Ukraine’s Western allies are forcing difficult conversations about how to balance support for Ukraine with concerns Russia may target them next.
NATO members that have sent billions of dollars worth of weapons and equipment are discussing what stockpile levels they need to meet their obligations under the mutual defense treaty. Decisions facing them now could have consequences for their their own security and for Ukraine, in its fight to repel Russia’s nine-month-old invasion.
“When you are continuing to give away ammunition to Ukraine and you have to evaluate and assess the risk you take for your own readiness, you will have to take into account the threat,” the chairman of NATO’s military committee, Adm. Rob Bauer, said at the Halifax International Security Forum this weekend.
The strain on stockpiles is “across the board,” and particularly sharp for ammunition, he said. In the years before some countries donated to Ukraine, they maintained stockpiles at half capacity or less because they saw little risk or couldn’t afford more, and took a “just-in-time, just-enough,” approach to the defense industry.
In a Thursday report, Republican lawmakers described several evidence and whistleblower testimony suggesting President Biden had knowledge of his family’s foreign business activities. The report also said “Committee Republicans are aware of the existence of additional evidence implicating the Biden family business ventures in suspicious activities but have been obstructed in our attempts to obtain that information.”
Earlier this month, America’s top General Mark Milley stated:
You want to negotiate from a position of strength. Russia right now is on its back. The probability of Russia achieving its strategic objectives of conquering Ukraine…is close to zero… Ukraine has had great success, but Kherson and Kharkiv are relatively small. So in terms of probability, the probability of a Ukrainian military victory, defined as kicking the Russians out of all of Ukraine, to include what they claim is Crimea…is not high, militarily… President Biden and President Zelenskyy himself has said that at the end of the day it will be a political solution. If there’s a slowdown in the actual tactical fighting, if that happens, then that may become a window possibly, it may not, for a political solution, or at least the beginnings of talks to initiate a political solution.
General Milley knows Ukraine and the West are running out of time. The impending bloodbath in Ukraine is coming any day as soon as Kiev’s “devil’s playground hell” freezes over – literally. According to an October 16 Washington Post headline, Zelensky in total desperation, is “grabbing [boys and old] men off the street,” frantic conscription by force to put cannon foddered bodies on frontline battlefields soon to be slaughtered by Moscow’s far superior Russian military, now deployed, freshly armed, fully trained, mobilized 300,000 troops. With well over 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers already dead, and an 8 or 9 dead Ukrainians for every one Russian killed, Putin’s winter offensives about to be kicked off in a few days will make mincemeat out of the hapless, untrained Ukrainian conscripts.
Morton Lyon Sahl (May 11, 1927 – October 26, 2021) was a Canadian-born American comedian, actor, and social satirist, considered the first modern comedian. Sahl pioneered a style of social satire that pokes fun at political and current event topics using improvised monologues and only a newspaper as a prop.
Sahl spent his early years in Los Angeles and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where he made his professional stage debut at the hungry i nightclub in 1953. His popularity grew quickly, and after a year at the club he traveled the country doing shows at established nightclubs, theaters, and college campuses. In 1960 he became the first comedian to have a cover story written about him by Time magazine. He appeared on various television shows, played a number of film roles, and performed a one-man show on Broadway.
Television host Steve Allen said that Sahl was "the only real political philosopher we have in modern comedy". His social satire performances broke new ground in live entertainment, as a stand-up comic talking about the real world of politics at that time was considered "revolutionary". It inspired many later comics to become stage comedians, including Lenny Bruce, Jonathan Winters, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Lewis Black and Woody Allen. Allen credits Sahl's new style of humor with "opening up vistas for people like me".
Numerous politicians became his fans, with John F. Kennedy asking him to write his jokes for campaign speeches, though Sahl later turned his barbs at the president. After Kennedy's assassination in 1963, Sahl focused on what he said were the Warren Report's inaccuracies and conclusions, and spoke about it often during his shows. This alienated much of his audience and led to a decline in his popularity for the remainder of the 1960s. By the 1970s, his shows and popularity staged a partial comeback that continued over the ensuing decades. A biography of Sahl, Last Man Standing, by James Curtis, was released in 2017.
DeSantis receives massive Republican support as he gets one standing ovation after another.
During his speech, the Florida governor boasted of his many accomplishments and let Republicans know he was just getting started. We also saw another Republican tease that they might be planning a run for the White House.
Fox News reports, “‘We’ve accomplished more over four years than anybody thought possible,’ DeSantis touted as he delivered the keynote address on Saturday night in Las Vegas at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual leadership meeting. This is the first major Republican cattle call in the 2024 White House race.”
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said Tuesday that the incoming GOP House majority will investigate and potentially impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over his handling of the U.S. southern border.
A top London cardiologist who was one of the first to take the COVID-19 vaccine and promote it on British television is warning his colleagues and the public he has evidence tying the incidences around the world of “unexpected” cardiac events in otherwise healthy people to the COVID-19 vaccines.
Dr. Aseem Malhotra made the statement in a video posted Wednesday on Twitter.
“It is my duty and responsibility as a consultant cardiologist and public health campaigner to urgently inform doctors, patients and members of the public that the COVID mRNA vaccine has likely played a significant role of being a primary cause in all unexpected cardiac arrests, heart attacks, strokes, cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure since 2021, until proven otherwise,” he said.
An internationally renowned expert in the prevention, diagnosis and management of heart disease, Malhotra is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and president of the Scientific Advisory Committee of The Public Health Collaboration. He also is an honorary council member to the Metabolic Psychiatry Clinic at Stanford University School of Medicine.
President Joseph Biden on Sunday night declared that an emergency exists in the state of New York and ordered federal assistance to supplement state and local response efforts following the severe snowstorm that began late last week and continued over the weekend.
The approval was in response to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul’s request for a federal emergency declaration for the 11 counties of Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Jefferson, Lewis, Niagara, Oneida, Oswego, St. Lawrence, and Wyoming.
The federal emergency declaration gives the state access to federal funding to support ongoing response and rescue operations. Emergency protective measures including direct federal assistance will be provided at 75% federal funding.
