Some college administrators are increasingly punishing student activists with suspensions, expulsions and arrests…

The actions of the students and the college administrators resemble campus climates during the Civil Rights Movement, Vietnam War and the apartheid era in South Africa… What has changed is the pressure politicians and donors now exert on college leaders to support a particular viewpoint

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) has closed its east al-Quds headquarters after Israeli settlers set fire to the compound's perimeter in the presence of the regime’s forces.

"This evening, Israeli residents set fire twice to the perimeter of the UNRWA headquarters in occupied east Jerusalem [al-Quds]," the UNRWA’s chief, Philippe Lazzarini, said on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday.

He described how "a crowd accompanied by armed men were witnessed outside the compound chanting 'Burn down the United Nations'."

Media reports said Israeli forces were present when settlers burned trees and grass on the building's property, but didn't prevent them.

"While there were no casualties among our staff, the fire caused extensive damage to the outdoor areas," Lazzarini said.

According to UNRWA, the agency’s staff members were present at the headquarters and worked to put out the fire.

“Our director with the help of other staff had to put out the fire themselves as it took the Israeli fire extinguishers and police a while before they turned up,” said Lazzarini.

Developments on university campuses and in Congress this week showed that the U.S. government’s top priority is not protecting students or civilian lives in Gaza, but to protect Israel’s ability to continue its unimpeded slaughter.

Anti-genocide student protestors at Columbia University, demanding Columbia divest from Israel, occupied the campus’s Hamilton Hall on Tuesday and renamed it Hind’s Hall after Hind Rajab, a 6-year-old Palestinian girl killed by Israeli soldiers in Gaza earlier this year. The Columbia protest has inspired more than 40 other anti-genocide university encampments across the country and in other nations.

On the morning the students occupied Hamilton Hall, MSNBC’s Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski compared the student protests to Jan. 6, calling for authorities to “just start arresting people.” Jonathan Greenblatt, the CEO of the Anti Defamation League, echoed the comparison in the same MSNBC segment. Other supporters of Israel also made the same Jan. 6 anaolgy on social media early Tuesday morning.

Former CNN anchor Don Lemon wrote on X that the Columbia protest “feels January 6th ish to me” because the protesters had occupied a building. Not a federal government building, but a university hall. Has Lemon not heard of a sit-in?

In the two weeks since the passage of the Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan aid packages, the contours of an emerging split within the Republican Party have become too obvious to ignore.

On one side are the usual suspects like Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas, who have never met a war they were not eager to fund, enflame, and send young Americans to fight in. In a ludicrous (even by his standards) floor speech prior to the April 23rd aid package vote, Graham, flanked by an oversized photo of the Twin Towers engulfed in flames, attempted to portray a vote for billions to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan as the surest way to prevent, yes, another 9/11.

The Graham-Cotton wing of the GOP can fairly be said to have the wind at its back, racking up recent legislative victories with enthusiastic bipartisan support. And the wing’s newest convert to the cause of perpetual war for perpetual defense contracts is no less a personage than House Speaker Mike Johnson. As a backbencher, Johnson could have reasonably been described as America First–friendly—but no more. Johnson now finds himself only the most recent elected official to be seduced by the siren song of politicized intelligence, remarking after the House vote,

I really do believe the intel and the briefings that we got…. I think Vladimir Putin would continue to march through Europe if he were allowed.

The UK government is to give £500,000 ($624,725) to a Jewish university chaplaincy service that requires its chaplains to be proactive advocates for Israel as part of new measures announced on Thursday to tackle antisemitism on campuses.

The announcement by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's office followed a meeting between Sunak and university leaders after students at a growing number of British universities set up encampments to oppose the war in Gaza and support Palestinian rights.

"Universities should be places of rigorous debate but also bastions of tolerance and respect for every member of their community," Sunak said in a statement.

"A vocal minority on our campuses are disrupting the lives and studies of their fellow students and, in some cases, propagating outright harassment and antisemitic abuse. That has to stop."

A bill introduced in the Senate by two Republicans seeks to place campus protesters on a no-fly list. Across the country, pro-Palestinian students are gathering on campuses and demanding their universities cut ties with the Israeli government over Tel Aviv’s ruthless onslaught in Gaza. Across the political spectrum, US politicians attempt to smear the protesters’ pro-Palestinian viewpoint as antisemitic.

Dale claimed that Soros is a “frequent target of antisemitic conspiracy theories” while ignoring the facts surrounding elite left-wing donors.

A Ukrainian drone struck a major oil processing plant in Russia's Bashkiria region on Thursday from some 1,500 km (932 miles) away, a Kyiv intelligence source said, its longest-range such attack since the start of the war.

Ukraine also hit two oil depots in southern Russia, as Kyiv tries to undermine Russian forces pressing along front lines on its territory by attacking energy facilities that are crucial to funding the economy and the war.

Russia's emergency service said a drone attack damaged a pumping station building at Gazprom's Neftekhim Salavat oil processing, petrochemical and fertiliser complex in Bashkiria, Russia's largest such plant, state RIA news agency reported.

The United States has suspended a shipment of weapons to Israel, including heavy, bunker-busting bombs Israeli forces have used in their war against Hamas militants in Gaza that has killed nearly 35,000 Palestinians in seven months.

U.S. President Joe Biden acted in the face of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision to pursue a military assault on the Gazan city of Rafah over Washington's objections, given large numbers of vulnerable displaced people there.

The U.S. is by far the largest arms supplier to its closest Middle East ally, followed by Germany - whose strong support for Israel reflects in part atonement for the Nazi Holocaust - and Italy.

Two countries, Canada and the Netherlands, have halted arms supplies to Israel over concerns they could be used in ways violating international humanitarian law - causing civilian casualties and destruction of residential areas - in Gaza.

Ireland, Spain and a number of other EU member states are considering 21 May as the date on which they will jointly recognise the State of Palestine, RTÉ News understands.

Two sources have said that 21 May is being looked at.

A third source said contacts between Dublin and Madrid, as well as between Slovenia and Malta, have been intensifying with a view to the countries jointly recognising Palestinian statehood.

In a statement jointly signed on 22 March, former taoiseach Leo Varadkar and his Spanish, Maltese and Slovenian counterparts said they had discussed their "readiness to recognise Palestine and said that we would do so when it can make a positive contribution and the circumstances are right".

The Slovenian government on Thursday initiated the procedure for the recognition of a Palestinian state as a form of leverage to end the conflict in Gaza, a move it announced in March, Prime Minister Robert Golob said.

"The horrors we see every day in Gaza are inadmissible and must stop," Golob was quoted as saying on the government X platform. "I call on Israel to put an immediate end to its attacks on Gaza and to use the negotiating table."

Golob said he would like his country´s recognition to be "an incentive for these negotiations to proceed more quickly" and speed up the dialogue in the United Nations on an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages and the security and existence of Israel through a two-state solution.

It's not just colleges: Across the U.S., high school students have been protesting the war in Gaza — and Congress is paying attention.

Why it matters: Young people under the age of 18 have been organizing demonstrations, sit-ins and walkouts at their schools, where the academic year typically extends into June.

  • "Their generation is really defined by a lot of these global protest movements," said Versha Sharma, the editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue.

What's happening: High school students across the country have made efforts to demonstrate since the arrests at Columbia University — although some have been thwarted by city or academic authorities.

State of play: For the first time, leaders of K-12 public school districts in a few liberal cities testified Wednesday before the same GOP-led House committee that's grilled the presidents of Harvard and Columbia.

On Thursday, Ukraine’s parliament voted to crack down on draft evaders, the latest step in a slew of legislation aimed at increasing mobilization as Ukraine is facing significant manpower shortages.

The bill will significantly increase fines for Ukrainians looking to avoid being forced to fight Russian forces. The new legislation comes a day after the parliament approved a plan to allow prisoners to join the military, including murderers, as long as they haven’t killed two or more people.

Iryna Gerashchenko, a Ukrainian MP and member of the European Solidarity party, said the new bill will raise minimum fines for people trying to avoid the draft from $13 to $218. The maximum fine for people who have repeatedly violated mobilization laws will increase to $5,200. According to Reuters, the average monthly wage in Ukraine is about $560.

Attorneys general from 22 states sent a letter Wednesday to Joe Biden opposing his plan to sign the United States onto the World Health Organization’s (WHO) International Health Regulations (IHR) amendments and the new Pandemic Treaty, which would grant “unprecedented and unconstitutional powers” to the United Nations (UN) health agency.

The letter comes as member nations prepare to meet in Geneva this month to vote on whether to grant vast new powers to the WHO.

Led by Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen, the coalition wrote to Biden that, despite changes made to the initial draft of the Pandemic Treaty, the latest version is “still highly problematic,” with proceedings they describe as “fluid and opaque” in nature.

The Biden administration is planning to roll out a taxpayer-funded program giving government-issued identification cards to thousands of illegal migrants crossing the southern border.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Secure Docket Card program had been in the works since at least 2022.

FOX News reported late Thursday afternoon that “the pilot program is expected to commence this summer with the distribution of approximately 10,000 cards.”

“While [ICE] stressed that plans are ‘pre-decisional’ and still subject to change, it is expected the cards will be issued in three or four locations in the U.S.,” FOX added. “A source familiar with the program told Fox Houston and Atlanta were two potential locations.”

Per FOX, ICE claims that one purpose of the program is to “modernize documentation provided to some noncitizens.”

Attacks on the cattle ranching industry have been ramping up for the last couple of years. The powers-that-be want to reduce and eventually eliminate beef from cows that were born in a pen and raised in a pasture, replacing them with “meat” that was made in a petri dish.

Recently, they’ve been attacking beef from a new front: political ideology. Apparently, anyone who is opposed to lab-grown beef must be part of the vast right-wing conspiracy against progress.

An article in Bloomberg declared as much with opinion columnist Tyler Cowen offering his new theory:

“The anti-lab-grown-meat movement is about conservative cultural insecurity — the fear that, without the force of law, some conservative cultural norms will fade away.”

We are witnessing an explosion of cancer in the United States that is absolutely unprecedented.  As you will see below, it is being projected that the number of new cases of cancer in the U.S. will hit a brand new record high this year, and cancer rates are rising particularly rapidly among our young people.  There have been so many prominent individuals in the news that have been diagnosed with cancer recently, and so many people that I personally know have also been diagnosed with cancer recently.  I am sure that most of you also personally know people that have been affected by this disease.  Of course cancer has been one of the leading causes of death for a very long time, but we have never witnessed anything quite like this.

According to the American Cancer Society, this year the number of newly diagnosed cases of cancer will surpass  the 2 million mark for the first time ever

Cancer incidence, however, is on the rise for many common cancers. In the coming year, we’re expecting to hit a bleak milestone—the first time new cases of cancer in the US are expected to cross the 2-million mark. That’s almost 5,500 cancer diagnoses a day.

This trend is largely affected by the aging and growth of the population and by a rise in diagnoses of 6 of the 10 most common cancers—breast, prostate, endometrial, pancreatic, kidney, and melanoma. (The other 4 top 10 cancers are lung, colon and rectum, bladder, and non-Hodgkin lymphoma.)

This is such a great tragedy.

Millions of Americans are dying way too early.

Once upon a time, cancer was considered to be a disease that would strike in old age, but now cancer rates among our young people are absolutely exploding

GWebmaster addition: Gee, I wonder what that is happening!!!!!!!

An uncommonly powerful solar storm may occur in outer space Friday, officials have warned – the first in nearly 20 years if it comes to fruition.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in the US issued the Severe (G4) Geomagnetic Storm Watch late Thursday – the first such alert aired since 2005 when Earth was hit with the highest dose of radiation in a half-century.

This time around, the 'unusual event' could disrupt electronic devices like GPS and parts of power grids, the American agency said – while citing how it may also drape a huge portion of the country in a spectacular circle of light (an 'aurora').

It follows a series of solar flares that began Wednesday during which several large expulsions of plasma from the sun were spotted – paving the way for Thursday's alert.

In it, officials explained how the expulsions of matter and magnetic field from the celestial body's atmosphere could cause problems for millions of earthlings as soon as noon ET Friday.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that President Joe Biden is making a mistake delaying a shipment of bombs to his country to help fight their war against Hamas.

The president, last week, delayed the delivery of 3,500 bombs to the U.S.'s Middle East ally. It was the first time he used his executive power to influence Israel's approach to its war.

Speaking to Dr. Phil on his primetime talk show Thursday, Netanyahu is clearly not happy with the president's actions.

'I've known Joe Biden for many years, 40 years and more. We often had our agreements, but we've had our disagreements. We've been able to overcome them. I hope we can overcome them now,' Netanyahu said.

Biden on Wednesday said U.S. bombs have been used to kill civilians in Rafah and that he would pause more arms shipments to Israel if Netanyahu launches a full-scale invasion.

A Tennessee woman marched her daughter to the police station after seeing security video of the aftermath where a man was shot and killed over $60 in Memphis.

The Memphis Police Department said the body of the deceased man was found near Filmore Avenue in Cherokee Park on Monday just before 8 a.m. Security video showed a woman running way from the park about the time that they believe the man was killed.

That evening, Shante Jones was watching the news and was shocked to find that the woman caught on video looked just like her daughter.

“I don’t condone violence. I don’t. If you do something, you will pay for it,” said Jones to WHBQ-TV.

The next day, she brought her daughter to the office of the homicide detectives.

Court records say that 26-year-old Kenyetta Hayes told police that the man had offered to pay her $60 for oral sex when she saw him at the Marathon gas station on Lamar Avenue. She said she intended to rob him and not participate in oral sex.

Police said that when Hayes and the man got to the park, she shot and killed him in order to take his $60. She reportedly told police she was "thirsty for money" and used the money to buy two hot wing combo meals for herself and her boyfriend.

Two weeks before the 2016 election, I unwittingly played a bit part in Stormy Daniels’ shakedown of Donald Trump. I ran FoxNews.com as Stormy and her cohorts pushed us to write a story about her affair with him.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes story that few people know.

Stormy's actions were textbook extortion, which, unlike records violations, is an honest-to-goodness felony in New York.

Team Stormy wasn’t after a Pulitzer. They were after a payday, and they were using the media as leverage to force Trump’s hand in the final stretch before Election Day.

Michael Cohen, Trump’s fixer, had already promised to pay Stormy $130,000 to keep her mouth shut about the alleged fling from a decade earlier. But he was stalling on cutting the check as negotiations dragged on. She was smart enough to know that Trump often stalled payments forever, and that if, as most expected, he lost the 2016 race, she’d never see a penny.

So, Stormy’s crew started shopping the story to outlets like us at Fox, Slate, and others. They knew we would contact the campaign for a response, which we did, and that it would ramp up the pressure on Cohen to finally pay up.

The Biden administration hopes to dispense thousands of ID cards to migrants in the coming weeks as part of an effort to update the documentation that US government agencies provide illegal border-crossers.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement is planning on a “limited rollout” of its Secure Docket Card program this summer that would see roughly 10,000 ID cards distributed to migrants in as many as four US cities, according to Fox News.

Two potential locations are Houston and Atlanta, a source told the outlet.
