The United States will hold the seventh meeting in the Ramstein format next week with the participation of more than 50 countries, Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Sing said.
“Also, looking a little further ahead, next week, the Secretary will host the seventh meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group. This meeting will be held virtually here at the Pentagon and will allow Austin and defense secretaries from nearly 50 countries to discuss efforts to provide Ukraine with the means…,” Singh said at a briefing on Thursday.
Foreign nurses living in two York hotels and studying for UK qualifications have been told to move out by the Home Office in its latest bid to house asylum seekers amid Downing Street’s efforts to tackle the migrant crisis.
Polly McMeekin, director of workforce at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said on Monday that at first the Home Office had given the trust four weeks to vacate the hotel because the government wanted to use the facilities for “the next couple of years” to accommodate migrants.
After the trust objected, it was given until December to vacate the hotels’ rooms, according to McMeekin.
“York has a dearth of accommodation. [This] leaves us with no other accommodation – we’ve explored the military, we’ve explored universities,” she said, adding that the Home Office’s decision would leave the hospital in a “very vulnerable” position.
The trust’s director of workforce pointed out that “this is a vulnerability in our [the UK’s] international recruitment pipeline.”
A critical shortage of British nurses has prodded the trust to recruit from abroad, as the hospital pays for foreign nurses’ accommodation while they take the exams. A UK media outlet reported that right now, there are 82 foreign nurses in one York hotel and 17 more are due to arrive next month.
NBC News pulled their bombshell report in early November by Miguel Almaguer on the attack on Paul Pelosi that included details that contradicted the narrative in the federal charging papers against accused attacker David DePape.
Democrats pushed a candidate this year who could not complete a full sentence, who hid in his basement and when he did hold a public “rally” could only get a few dozen supporters to show up in a parking lot to honk horns.
The Washington Postreported Sunday that Congress drafted a plan with input from the White House to authorize $1 billion in military aid for Taiwan annually under the presidential drawdown authority, which allows the US to ship weapons directly from Pentagon stockpiles.
The US has employed this authority to arm Ukraine, and the bulk of the over $19 billion in weapons pledged to Kyiv since Russia’s invasion have come from US military stockpiles. The authority allows the US to get weapons into the hands of Ukraine much more quickly than other forms of military aid that require purchasing arms.
The report said that the $1 billion has been attached to the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which is still being finalized. The Senate has also attached $10 billion in another form of military aid, known as Foreign Military Financing (FMF), for Taiwan that will be disbursed over the next five years.
A study examining murders in 2021 based on death certificate data projects that one out of 179 Americans will eventually be murdered over the course of their lifetimes if the country’s murder rate remains at 2021 levels.
“That means if you’re in the United States, you live here, you’re born and you spend your life here, your odds of your life ending by murder are one in 179 over your life. Not over a year or any other timeframe.”
“It’s just somebody’s gonna murder you before you die of natural causes, an accident, suicide, whatever it may be,” Jim Agresti, president and co-founder of Just Facts, a nonprofit research institute, told Fox News Digital. Agresti also authored the study.
Just Facts undertook a massive project to examine how many people were murdered in 2021 after weeks of news outlets and experts reporting there is no definitive figure for 2021 murders due to newly released FBI data for that year being incomplete and based on estimates.

During Monday’s last stop of Kellie-Jay Keen’s Let Women Speak tour in New York City, multiple arrests were made as protestors turned violent and attempted to breach the barricade set up to protect speakers at the event. Keen herself was prevented from attending by police, who said they wouldn't risk their men to get her to the front of the crowd.
Antifa members were seen in attendance at the protest dressed in black bloc, pushing barricades that were set up around city hall. The Post Millennial's Libby Emmons was on hand to document the protest. Trans rights activists screamed that the women were fascists and Nazis for their belief that biological sex is real.
One woman recording from city hall before the event said, "They have been pushing back the barricade. They have shoved, attacked, pushed, pulled, I’ve been assaulted several times already this morning. There was an arrest earlier, someone tried to broach the barrier."
The collapse of the FTX exchange highlighted a significant bit of corruption within the political world this week.
The dust is still settling on this one, but it already turns out that the people at the top of FTX donated at least $40 million to Democrat candidates up and down the ballot.
The CEO of the company has a large number of connections with influential people and corporations. He has funneled money from his FTX exchange to preferred clients and others. He is also a significant donor to Democrat candidates. Some speculate that this helped him keep the FTX exchange running much longer than it otherwise would have.
The CEO is Sam Bankman-Fried, who was in charge of FTX until its recent implosion and bankruptcy. Now, he is seen as a fraudster and certainly not someone any politician would want to be associated with. However, that was sometimes only the case for him. He used to be highly sought after for all the campaign donations he kept flowing to high-powered politicians and those who could pull the levers of power when necessary.
One month after leaving the Democratic Party, former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii is joining Fox News as a paid contributor.
A representative for the conservative-leaning cable channel confirmed Gabbard signed a deal Monday and will start appearing on its programs next week.
Gabbard, 41, pursued the 2020 Democratic nomination for president. But she has been distancing herself from the party ever since and has appeared as a frequent guest on Fox News, including its most-watched shows, "The Five" and "Tucker Carlson Tonight."
When Gabbard ran for president, Hillary Clinton, the party's 2016 nominee and former secretary of state, called Gabbard "a favorite of the Russians" and suggested she would run as a third-party candidate in order to get Donald Trump reelected.
Kari Lake, one of the most high-profile Republican candidates to embrace Donald Trump's false claims of voter fraud in 2020, claimed on Monday night she had been robbed of the chance to be the next governor of Arizona and suggested her own defeat was suspect.
Soon after the race was called for Democrat Katie Hobbs, rather than conceding gracefully, Lake took to Twitter to say: 'Arizonans know BS when they see it.'
It suggests that Lake, who had been working with former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, is not ready to accept defeat.

Amazon has launched an online chat service to provide customers with advice on common health woes.
The retail giant's new 'virtual care service' gives users access to 'affordable' medical help 'when and how they need it', whether that's at home, at the shops or on the go.
Amazon Clinic, described as a 'virtual health storefront', will connect people with doctors to get advice and prescriptions for more than 20 common health conditions, such as allergies, acne and hair loss.
It will initially be rolled out in 32 states with plans to launch in more locations within months.
Miguel Almaguer, a correspondent with NBC's Today show has been suspended while an internal investigation is conducted at the network after the broadcaster was forced to retract its reporting that only served to fan conspiracy theories about the attack on Paul Pelosi.
Almaguer, 45, who has worked for NBC since 2009, compiled a report that suggested Nancy Pelosi's husband was not in any danger when police arrived at the couple's San Francisco home.
It stated, using information from an anonymous source, that Pelosi had told San Francisco police there was no indication he was in any danger and did not declare and emergency when he answered the door.

Kids toys are getting smaller during the 2022 holiday season as consumers and retailers adapt to inflation.
Toy companies like WowWee and MGA Entertainment have begun producing miniature versions of their popular toys and selling them at slashed prices to try to appeal to cash-strapped American shoppers.
MGA Entertainment - which makes the popular Bratz dolls, among other products, will introduce more than 200 toys priced under $10 in the coming weeks. Last year the company introduced only between 10 and 15 toys at that price point.
One of the new products is a two-inch take on the original 11-inch Bratz doll.
Shots were fired on U.S. embassy vehicles in Haiti on Monday in an attack that also affected the Haitian police and commercial vehicles, an embassy spokesperson said.
"No embassy personnel were injured," Information Officer Kathryn Edwards said in a statement. "One Haitian commercial driver accompanying the convoy was injured. However, the injuries are not life threatening."
The statement did not identify the attackers. Gang violence has been rife in the Caribbean nation, and one local media report attributed the attack to the 400 Mawozo gang, which kidnapped a group of U.S. and Canadian missionaries in 2021.
Prime Minister Ariel Henry has dismissed Haiti’s justice minister, interior minister and its government commissioner in a fresh round of political upheaval.
Former Justice Minister Berto Dorcé first fired Government Commissioner Jacques Lafontant on Henry’s orders before being ousted himself days later along with Interior Minister Liszt Quitel, according to documents that The Associated Press obtained on Monday.
Quitel had previously served as justice minister.
Henry did not say why the officials were removed, and his spokesman could not be immediately reached for comment.
Henry has become Haiti’s interior minister while still serving as prime minister, and Emmelie Prophète Milcé was named justice minister, the fifth one in the past two years as the country struggles to bring to justice all those involved in the July 2021 assassination of President Jovenel Moïse.
Despite an underwhelming performance in the midterm elections, Republicans appear poised to take back the House for the first time since 2016. The shift has the potential to impact a wide range of policies and will undoubtedly lead to a series of hearings on everything from the Afghanistan withdrawal to Hunter Biden’s business dealings.
But when it comes to defense spending, there’s little reason to think that GOP leaders will rock the boat.
To understand why, one just has to take a quick look at two of the most influential defense policy roles in the House: the heads of the committees that oversee spending and the armed services. The Republicans who are expected to take on these roles next year both have strong incentives to keep Pentagon spending high.
There will be no golden escalator this time, but neither will there be mocking guffaws or can-you-believe-this eye-rolling. As Donald Trump is expected to kick off another presidential campaign tonight, the world has changed rather drastically since his first. Whatever else is thought of his attempted comeback, it will not be dismissed as an implausible joke.
Secret minutes obtained by The Electronic Intifada show just how strongly the UK’s main opposition party has been captured by the pro-Israel lobby.
Shadow minister Steve Reed gave a series of extraordinary pledges during a 2 December 2020 meeting with prominent Israel lobby donor Trevor Chinn.
Chinn and five other Israel lobby representatives took part in the secret meeting, along with Reed and two of his staff. The minutes conclude that the lobbyists had established “a regular channel of communication” with Reed and his office.
With Russian energy supplies drying out and nation’s gas reserves running low, most Germans seem to have to resigned to their fate, and are looking for ways to cope with the impending blackouts and power shortages ahead of Christmas, news reports suggest.
Many Germans are taking public courses on how to survive a dark and cold winter caused by the foolish climate and energy policies of their elected leaders. The French TV channel Euronews reported Saturday that “a growing number of Germans are turning to citizens’ courses to learn how to act if they find themselves plunged into darkness.”
Top House Republicans are calling President Joe Biden out on Monday after a White House readout of his meeting with Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping suggested Biden did not broach the topic of COVID-19 and its origins.
In a pair of statements made to DailyMail.com, Michigan Rep. Lisa McClain and Florida Rep. Michael Waltz sounded off about the 'sham' meeting.
Biden and Xi spent over three hours discussing North Korea, global food security, climate change and Taiwan, according to the White House.
The president came out of the meeting stating that there was no imminent threat to Taiwan from China.
But Admiral Mike Gilday, chief of naval operations, told the Atlantic Council last month that Beijing's forces could conceivably hit the island in 'potentially a 2023 window.'
Webmaster addition: I can understand why Biden didn't touch on the Covid issue. There is an old Chinese proverb that says one should never ask a question one does not want answered, and Xi would no doubt bring up the US funding for the Wuhan research,
Jennifer Siebel Newsom — wife of California Gov. Gavin Newsom — sobbed as she described Harvey Weinstein’s “distorted” and “fish-like” genitals during her bombshell testimony at the disgraced movie producer’s sexual assault trial Monday.
Identified in court as Jane Doe 4, Siebel Newsom broke down in tears recounting how Weinstein allegedly raped her in 2005 at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills.
