Thought for the day
"We do not at present educate people to think but, rather, to have opinions." -- Louis L'Amour
The NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) peacekeepers were spotted late on Saturday in the city of Kosovska Mitrovica, located in the north of Serbia’s breakaway region of Kosovo.
The force, apparently Italian carabinieri units, were spotted guarding a bridge across the Ibar river, footage from the scene circulated by local media shows. The bridge splits the city into the northern Serb-populated part, and the predominantly ethnic-Albanian south.
KFOR, the NATO-led peacekeeping mission, said in a statement on Sunday evening that it was “prepared to intervene if stability is jeopardized.”
Reportedly placed on high alert, a large KFOR convoy of some 30-40 vehicles was spotted heading towards the frontier between the breakaway region and the rest of Serbia. Kosovo special forces were also spotted moving equipment and personnel, RT reported.
Democrats this week have the chance to validate their monopoly on political power in Washington, create a legacy of true significance for President Joe Biden and even boost their hopes in daunting midterm elections in three months.
But first they must push a back-from-the-dead climate and health care initiative through the Senate using their tiny majority, notably by locking in the crucial vote of moderate Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, who has yet to sign off on a bill that may not save Democrats in November but may at least give them a big new win to run on.
Tensions are, meanwhile, soaring between the parties, especially over a Republican blockade of a bill that would fund health care for veterans sickened by exposure to burn pits during service in America’s foreign wars. The move opened up the GOP to accusations of cruelty – and, for once, Republican leader Mitch McConnell has looked outmaneuvered.
President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is using Federal Air Marshals to escort border crossers and illegal aliens before their release into American communities, sources close to Breitbart News reveal.
As the Biden administration continues overseeing record-breaking waves of illegal immigration, Air Marshals have been deployed to escort border crossers and illegal aliens from processing facilities at the United States-Mexico border to the custody of Border Patrol agents before they are released into the U.S. interior.
The catch and release process, detailed exclusively to Breitbart News, ensures border crossers and illegal aliens are apprehended, briefly detained, and then released into American communities via parole where they can secure work permits.
In one Arizona sector, more than 30 Air Marshals, a source said, have been deployed to help facilitate the mass release of border crossers and illegal aliens. The process is so widespread that a source said many arrive at the border expecting to secure parole.
“They’ll just straight up say ‘Where’s my parole?’ They’re aggressive,” the source said. “They know exactly what’s coming. The Air Marshals’ whole job is to walk them 50 yards.”
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán delivered one of the most powerful speeches of his life recently, and the Leftist Regime Media lost its collective mind. Speaking at a Romanian event, Orbán stressed the importance of race to his version of nationalism, and declared that Hungary must resist becoming a “mixed-race” country. This was no declaration that Hungary is just defined by “ideas” or “culture.” Orbán believes that Hungarians define Hungary, and vows to protect his people from the ravages of globalism. This situation puts his Respectable Right U.S. fans in an awkward position. They want Orbán to be a friendly civic nationalist who simply wants to boost Hungarian birthrates in a non-racist way. But his powerful speech reminds us that nationalism must address race.
Counter-Currents website performed a great service by translating and posting the 9,000-word speech in full, and it’s well worth the read [The West Has Moved to Central Europe, by Viktor Orbán, July 27, 2022].
Orbán warned his audience about the many dangers posed to Western Civilization: the shrinking number of Europeans, the rise in non-European births, and mass migration, which he called “population replacement.” He endorsed Jean Raspail’s Camp of the Saints for showing “the spiritual developments underlying the West’s inability to defend itself.” Immigration has split the West, Orban says:
One half is a world where European and non-European peoples live together. These countries are no longer nations; they are nothing more than a conglomeration of peoples. I could also say that it is no longer the Western world, but the post-Western world. And around 2050, the laws of mathematics will lead to the final demographic shift: cities in this part of the continent—or that part—will see the proportion of residents of non-European origin rising to over 50% of the total.
Chinese government propagandist Hu Xijin announced on Saturday he deleted a tweet cautioning of military retaliation if US military jets escort House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on her visit to Taiwan.
Although, he nixed the tweet just after Twitter blocked his account.
Pelosi, third in the line of presidential succession, after President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, began a trip to Asia on Saturday morning, with official stops planned in Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea and Japan.
In both her Substack video interview with Ann Coulter, and her book HATE: Why We Should Resist It With Free Speech, Not Censorship, former ACLU head Nadine Strossen says that blacks are frequently the victims of hate speech laws, which are always intended (by white liberals) to suppress white speech.
Making both my point and hers, Strossen says that wherever hate speech laws have been tried, it’s the “marginalized”—not the “oppressors”—who get nailed.
Duh. People who think it’s cool to publish books with titles like Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race don’t exactly exude sweetness and light when talking to actual white people.
Thanks to the University of Michigan being forced to release documents in response to an ACLU lawsuit challenging its “hate speech” code in the late 1980s, Strossen reveals that, during the brief time it was in effect, more than 20 cases were brought against black people for racist speech.
With inflation at 40-year highs, the Biden Democrats want to push through another behemoth spending bill. This one is supposedly related to climate change.
Between Oct. 1 and March 31, Hanover's municipal buildings will not be allowed to be heated to a temperature over 68F. The city has banned the use of mobile air conditioning units and fan heaters.
The Hill was thrown into near chaos this week when Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) unveiled the Inflation Reduction Act. Republicans charged that Manchin misled them into supporting a $280 billion chips and science bill — a bill they would have otherwise opposed. Others criticized the name of the bill, which contains a significant number of climate change items long sought by the Democrats. Now, the respected Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania has found that the Inflation Reduction Act would actually have no impact on inflation.
Manchin premised his change on the fact that the bill would reduce inflation despite raising taxes and expenditures. The Act would combat climate change, extend enhanced Obamacare subsidies, and reduce the budget deficit by roughly $300 billion. Figures like Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) admitted that much of the Build Back Better bill is now in the Act.
Jon Huntley and John Ricco found that the bill “would reduce non-interest cumulative deficits by $248 billion over the budget window with no impact on GDP in 2031. The impact on inflation is statistically indistinguishable from zero.”
That is $52 billion less in deficit reduction than claimed by the Democrats and the review found the bill would actually “very slightly increase inflation until 2024 and decrease inflation thereafter.”
The nationwide baby formula shortage is far from over, with nearly one-third of all formula in the U.S. still not stocked, according to a report.
Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi has revealed the schedule for her trip to Asia, amid threats of a strong Chinese reaction should she attempt to visit Taiwan.
In a tweet posted on Sunday, Pelosi said she will stop in Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan, where she will “hold high-level meetings.”
The news comes after reports that Pelosi could make an unannounced visit to Taipei as part of her trip.
China considers Taiwan, which has been ruled by a separate government since the late 1940s, part of its territory. Beijing strongly opposes any form of diplomatic recognition of Taiwan, including visits by foreign officials.
University of Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh put his money where his mouth is in the debate over abortion. Harbaugh recently delivered an impassioned defense of the unborn, and offered to adopt any child that was unwanted by his players and staff members.

President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID again.
The president made the announcement on Saturday in a message on Twitter.
“Folks, today I tested positive for COVID again. This happens with a small minority of folks. I’ve got no symptoms but I am going to isolate for the safety of everyone around me. I’m still at work, and will be back on the road soon,” he said.
Webmaster addition: Clearly the tests are not accurate!
Investigative journalist Lara Logan spoke Saturday in Arizona on a voter integrity panel.
During her speech, Logan told the audience the Biden regime is handing out social security numbers to illegal aliens at the southern border.
Over 3 million illegals will have crossed into the United States via the open southern border in Joe Biden’s first two years in office.
This needs to be Joe Biden’s first impeachment trial — the purposeful destruction of the United States of America.
The Anti-Defamation League's data claiming right-wing extremists are responsible for the vast majority of "extremist-related killings" is a total fraud.
These numbers are manipulable based on who you define as an extremist. ADL reaches these numbers by defining all homicides committed by members ofwhite gangs (mostly prison gangs) as right-wing extremists, while not defining black or Latino gangs as politically motivated. https://t.co/Aol9ayY1Kk— Daniel Friedman (@DanFriedman81) May 20, 2022
Here’s a list of offenses included in the data. Any homicide involving any member of a white prison gang, whether the homicide itself is politically motivated or not, is counted as a right-wing extremist homicide: pic.twitter.com/lhqLYaPzae— Daniel Friedman (@DanFriedman81) May 20, 2022
If every criminal or prison gang that only admits black members was considered a left-wing “black nationalist” extremist movement, and every homicide committed by gang members were counted as an extremist killing, then right-wing killings would be eclipsed by left-wing killings.— Daniel Friedman (@DanFriedman81) May 20, 2022
Even the Washington Post last week had to come out and admit their data is junk.
As news of the COVID pandemic winds down around the world, we’re suddenly seeing warnings of another pandemic brewing — bird flu, aka avian influenza (H5N1).
In a March 30 CenterPoint interview, former Director for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Robert Redfield, stated:
“I believe the great pandemic still in the future, and that’s going to be a bird flu pandemic for man. It’s going to have significant mortality in the 10 to 50% range. It’s going to be trouble.”
Anyone who knows a little about bird flu is likely to wonder where Redfield and other “experts” are getting their predictions from, as natural bird flu is notoriously harmless to humans.
Historically, however, the bird flu has never posed a threat to mankind — that is until scientists started tinkering with it, creating a hybrid with human pandemic potential.
Beijing has for the first time unveiled a video featuring the launch of what appears to be a DF-17 hypersonic missile, which Chinese experts quoted by state media have described as an “aircraft carrier killer”.
The video, titled ‘The capabilities of the Chinese troops shown in 81 seconds’ was broadcast on China Central Television (CCTV) on Sunday, amid the ongoing tensions with the US over the possible visit to Taiwan of House of Representatives’ Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
The video was published a day before the 95th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
A military expert quoted by Global Times said that potential enemies would have a “hard time” locating the new missile, which can be launched any time and anywhere.
Military observers have also said it is “almost impossible” to “intercept” the missile since it uses an “unpredictable trajectory”.
Further, experts have reckoned that the South China Sea, the Taiwan Strait and the north-east Asian region are located within “striking range” of the missile, which can also hit slow-moving targets such as aircraft carriers.
The video surfaced a day after the PLA held “live-fire drills” near the Pingtan Islands in the Taiwan Strait. The Maritime Safety Administration warned ships to avoid the area from 8am to 9pm on Saturday. Beijing also conducted naval drills in the South China Sea on 29 and 30 July.
The US Navy this week confirmed that an aircraft carrier, the USS Ronald Reagan, and a strike group is at present operating in the South China Sea amid tensions over Pelosi’s trip to the region.
Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-Calif.) has changed her story as to why she flashed an obscene gesture at Republicans at the Congressional Baseball Game. However, the liberal lawmaker still maintained that she was the victim of the situation and somehow managed to blame Republican women.
Ivana Hrynkiw Shatara – the managing producer of news video and social media for AL.com – attempted to cover the state execution of Joe Nathan James Jr. at the William C. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) gave censorship 'suggestions' to social media companies and Google in order to censor users who expressed skepticism or criticism of COVID-19 vaccines, according to the Washington Free Beacon, which obtained a trove of internal communications obtained by America First Legal.
The emails, between the CDC, Google, Twitter and Meta staffers - some of whom (as Just the News notes) were former Hill and White House aides - were obtained through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, and show extensive cooperation which included thinly veiled threats for failing to more aggressively remove content.
Over the course of at least six months, starting in December 2020, CDC officials regularly communicated with personnel at Twitter, Facebook, and Google over "vaccine misinformation." At various times, CDC officials would flag specific posts by users on social media platforms such as Twitter as "example posts."
In one email to a CDC staffer, a Twitter employee said he is "looking forward to setting up regular chats" with the agency. Other emails show the scheduling of meetings with the CDC over how to best police alleged misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines. -Free Beacon
In one April 2021 email between a CDC staffer and Facebook, concern was raised after "algorithms that Facebook and other social media networks are apparently using to screen out posting by sources of vaccine misinformation are also apparently screening out valid public health messaging, including [Wyoming] Health communications."
Another email from March 2021 from a senior CDC staffer states: "we are working on [sic] project with Census to leverage their infrastructure to identify and monitor social media for vaccine misinformation."
What's more, one email chain reveals that a CDC official showed up at Google's 2020 "Trusted Media Summit" conference, which was held for "journalists, fact-checkers, educators, researchers and others who work in the area of fact-checking, verification, media literacy, and otherwise fighting misinformation."
Irving Kristol famously said a neo-conservative was “a liberal mugged by reality.” That reality somehow made neocons feverish war hawks. Regardless, the quote describes many prominent critics of wokeness—one of whom is Douglas Murray, a British “classical liberal.” Murray decries mass immigration, wokeness, and Black Lives Matter, but in a way that tries to appeal to liberals and centrists. He tries to be respectable and liberal while critiquing the usual right-wing targets.
Murray goes out of his way to attack those he feels are too far-right. He waged a jihad against Chronicles editor Pedro Gonzalez earlier this year over a harmless joke about “Rothschild physiognomy.” Murray falsely asserted the joke was anti-Semitic and tried to cancel Gonzalez. Fortunately, he failed.
However, Murray does notice the defining feature of the modern Left: anti-white racism. “You can’t have a war on the West unless you wage war on the majority,” he told Charlie Kirk in an April interview. “And the majority of people in America, as in Britain, are white. And so, of course, if you’re going to war on the West, you have got a war on white people.”
That’s a bold statement many conservatives would shy away from. Daring to mention anti-white racism makes you the subject of media vitriol and calls for censorship. Just ask Tucker Carlson. Murray’s latest book, “The War on the West”, isn’t afraid to call out this hatred.
But to some right-wing “post-liberals,” the focus on anti-white racism is a distraction from the real issues. The real radical idea is to support the multiracial working class against woke capital. “White identity politics” is only a liberal ruse to divide that class.
The number of sailors who deserted the Navy more than doubled from 2019 to 2021, while desertions in other military branches dropped or stayed flat, pointing to a potential Navy-wide mental health crisis amid a spate of recent suicides, according to experts and federal statistics obtained by NBC News.
Among a fleet of more than 342,000 active sailors, there were 157 new Navy deserters in 2021, compared with 63 in 2019 and 98 in 2020, Navy data shows. The total number of deserters who were still at large in 2021 grew to 166 from 119 in 2019. Most of them were 25 and younger.
“That’s staggering,” said Benjamin Gold, a defense attorney for U.S. service members.
A Sunday morning statement from the office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi included no mention of visiting Taiwan.
Video-conferencing outfit Zoom reportedly may develop an artificial intelligence tool that detects users' emotions by scanning facial expressions and examining vocal tones — but human rights groups are saying such technology would be invasion of privacy, the Thomson Reuters Foundation reported.
The outlet said tech publication Protocol reported on the subject last month.
What are the details?
But more than 25 groups — including Access Now, the American Civil Liberties Union, and the Muslim Justice League — on Wednesday sent a joint letter to Zoom chief executive Eric Yuan against the idea, the Thomson Reuters Foundation said.
