"The more shocking a news story is, the more likely it's bullshit!" -- Michael Rivero
Advocates recently promoted legislation to clear a controversial New York Police Department of Investigation (DOI) database that they argue keeps tabs on predominately Black and Brown residents in New York.
The G.A.N.G.S. coalition (Grassroots Advocates for Neighborhood Groups and Solutions coalition) gathered at a recent news conference to call for abolishing the database used to unfairly collect information on youth in New York City, and to prohibit any such information from being gathered in the future. Members of the coalition consisted of lawyers from the Legal Aid Society, Legal Defense Fund, Immigrant Defense Fund, Red Hook Initiative, and other counsel and activists.
Iesha Sekou, a Harlem resident, Street Corner Resources founder and activist, summarized that Black and Latino youth being targeted is a violation of their rights. “It is impacting not only for our kids to get jobs, starting careers, but also training, housing, and getting into colleges, because when they do a background check these names are displayed in the gang database, and that’s why it should be cleared. This gang database puts predominately Black and Latino men at a disadvantage to get work or to sustain themselves,” she said. Of the approximately 16,000 people registered in the database, 11,221 are Black and 4,729 are Latino.
Time and time and time again, insouciant Americans allow the presstitutes to brainwash, indoctrinate, and deceive them. Afterwards they, or some of them, eventually catch on. But despite lesson learned, another precedent that erodes truth and liberty has been established. And despite lesson learned they will sit in front of their TV screens for their next brainwashing and indoctrination by the presstitutes who serve the ruling oligarchy by deceiving Americans. My voice is that of one; theirs are many.
We don’t have to go far back in time, just the adult lifetime of the current older American generation to list deception after deception.
JPMorgan has laid off 1,000 First Republic Bank employees three weeks after buying out the collapsed firm.
Terminated bank employees were notified on Thursday during a four-minute scripted phone call that they were being laid off with a severance package that included additional pay and benefits for 60 days, a source told Reuters.
The other 85 percent of the remaining 7,000 of First Republic Bank employees were offered temporary full-time and transitional roles for up to 12 months.
First Republic Bank was the third to fail in March following the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank, as investors and depositors became worried the bank wouldn't survive as an independent entity.
The University of California system and leaders at UC Santa Cruz face a lawsuit over forcing people to submit a DEI statement with their application. From The College Fix:
The Pacific Legal Foundation filed the lawsuit on behalf of J.D. Haltigan, a former University of Toronto psychology professor, who argues the university’s DEI statement requirement runs afoul of the First Amendment because it requires Haltigan “to express ideas with which he disagrees in order to be eligible for employment.”
The lawsuit states UC Santa Cruz applicants “must express agreement with specific socio-political ideas, including the view that treating individuals differently based on their race or sex is desirable.”
But Haltigan’s support of colorblind inclusivity, viewpoint diversity and merit-based evaluations stands against UC Santa Cruz’s publicly stated progressive stances and policies, it alleges.
Do you want to get a Bachelor’s degree at UConn? You must pass the Anti-Black Racism class. From Campus Reform:
Provost Anne D’Alleva announced on May 17 that the requirement will go into effect during the 2024-2025 academic year with a course that will be similar to the one-credit ABR elective that has been offered since 2021.
“An education at our university must provide many opportunities to confront the history and current reality of injustice and human rights abuses, and we expect our students to be leaders in creating a more just and equitable world. ABR and the curricular changes that are in development are a powerful point of departure from the status quo,” D’Alleva stated.
The NAACP is on high alert — a Republican governor, with an unabashedly conservative agenda and some chance of winning, is running for president.
It has duly sprung into action with a travel advisory warning people what they’re getting into if they take the risk of visiting Florida’s sunny beaches or world-class attractions.
“Florida is openly hostile toward African Americans, people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals,” the statement says.
Russia will launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike if the West provides Ukraine with nukes, one of Vladimir Putin's closest aides has said in a sinister warning.
Russia's former president Dmitry Medvedev said the West is failing to grasp Putin's willingness to bring about a nuclear Armageddon.
A ranting Medvedev also warned that the Ukraine war could last for 'decades', with long periods of fighting interspersed by truces.
Medvedev - now deputy head of Putin's security council - warned that the war has escalated further with Ukraine receiving warplanes, such as US F-16s, and 'maybe even nuclear weapons'.
'There are some irreversible rules of war,' he said on a trip to Vietnam. 'If it comes to [deliveries of] nuclear weapons [to Ukraine], a preemptive strike will have to be carried out.'
Jill Biden was left in the quiet and begging for a reaction after a tough crowd failed to respond as the First Lady hoped.
Biden, 71, spoke at the Reagan Institute Summit on Education Thursday when she suffered the gaffe while talking about uniting the right and left.
'I’ve visited red states and blue states and I’ve found that the common values that unite us are deeper than our divisions,' she said, which was followed by silence.
A flash of confusion crossed the First Lady's face before she took the awkward silence with stride and joked: 'And, um, I thought you might clap for that.'
The head of Russia's Wagner mercenary group today declared his troops had started transferring positions in Bakhmut over to the Russian army.
The battle for the eastern Ukrainian city has raged for nearly one year, levelling the industrial hub and wiping out waves of Wagner recruits who have led the assault.
'We are withdrawing units from Bakhmut today. We are handing over positions to the military, ammunition and everything,' Yevgeny Prigozhin said in a video online.
'We pull back, we rest, we prepare and then we will get new tasks,' Prigozhin told his troops on the front lines.
Prigozhin will withdraw having largely achieved his goals to wrest Bakhmut from Ukrainian control - but Kyiv has refused to acknowledge the city is completely lost.
Most California voters, including more than 50 percent of Democrats, want Sen. Dianne Feinstein to resign from office due to her growing health issues.
Additionally, the new UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies/Los Angeles Times poll shows that nearly two-thirds of Californians registered to vote think that the Democratic senator is not fit for office.
Feinstein, 89, has suffered a series of recent medical issues. She returned to the Capitol earlier this month after an extended absence due to a case of shingles. When returning, however, she was in a wheelchair.
The California Democrat said in a statement that her doctor told her to work a lighter schedule.
Progressives Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., and MSNBC host Rachel Maddow are outspoken critics of the bloated defense budget and the MAGA wing of the Republican Party. Next month, though, both Raskin and Maddow will headline an event sponsored by defense industry giant Lockheed Martin and Palantir, a $26 billion defense contractor founded and chaired by Peter Thiel, the polarizing billionaire and megadonor to Donald Trump.
The appearances by Raskin and Maddow will come as part of TruCon, the conference of the Democratic Party-aligned Truman Center, which runs from June 1 to 4 in Washington, D.C. TruCon’s website describes the conference as an opportunity to see “[t]hought leaders across government, policy, and national security fields speak on the most pressing issues facing America today.”
For Mark Thompson, a national security analyst at the Project on Government Oversight, the big question for Raskin and Maddow at the conference will be whether they hold their tough positions against defense contractors. If they don’t speak out, Thompson said, it would indicate that sponsors can buy the silence of their outspoken critics.
From Murmansk in the Arctic to Varna on the Black Sea, the armed camps of NATO and the Russian Federation menace each other across a new Iron Curtain. Unlike the long twilight struggle that characterized the Cold War, the current confrontation is running decidedly hot. As former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice and former secretary of defense Robert Gates acknowledge approvingly, the United States is fighting a proxy war with Russia. Thanks to Washington’s efforts to arm and train the Ukrainian military and to integrate it into NATO systems, we are now witnessing the most intense and sustained military entanglement in the near-eighty-year history of global competition between the United States and Russia. Washington’s rocket launchers, missile systems, and drones are destroying Russia’s forces in the field; indirectly and otherwise, Washington and NATO are probably responsible for the preponderance of Russian casualties in Ukraine. The United States has reportedly provided real-time battlefield intelligence to Kyiv, enabling Ukraine to sink a Russian cruiser, fire on soldiers in their barracks, and kill as many as a dozen of Moscow’s generals. The United States may have already committed covert acts of war against Russia, but even if the report that blames the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines on a U.S. naval operation authorized by the Biden Administration is mistaken, Washington is edging close to direct conflict with Moscow. Assuredly, the nuclear forces of the United States and Russia, ever at the ready, are at a heightened state of vigilance. Save for the Cuban Missile Crisis, the risks of a swift and catastrophic escalation in the nuclear face-off between these superpowers is greater than at any point in history.
Documents uncovered by the Media Research Center (MRC) revealed the Biden Administration used a $40 million grant program of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), ostensibly earmarked for anti-terrorism purposes, to target conservative organizations and media, including Breitbart News.
The Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant Program (TVTP) was established by the DHS in 2011 to combat Al Qaeda, but was vastly expanded in its scope by the Biden adminstration.
Its grants now encompass several “media literacy and online critical thinking initiatives,” the most radical of which accuse conservative organizations including Breitbart News, Turning Point USA, and the Heritage Foundation of turning Americans into violent neo-Nazis.
Under Biden, the program awarded eighty grants, totaling $39,611,999. Fifty-two percent of the grants were awarded to public institutions, and 48 percent went to private organizations.
One institution that was awarded a grant, the University of Dayton, used its DHS money to create a training program explaining how content from Breitbart News, Fox News, the Heritage Foundation, the National Rifle Association, PragerU, and the Republican National Committee among others led to far-right radicalization.
If you’ve been following our reporting on the issue, you’ll already know that the new World Health Organization (WHO) pandemic prevention initiative, the Preparedness and Resilience for Emerging Threats (PRET), recommends using “social listening surveillance systems” to identify “misinformation.” But as more people are learning about how unelected bodies are being used to suppress speech and potentially override sovereignty, it’s starting to get more pushback.
According to documents from the UN agency, PRET aims to “guide countries in pandemic planning” and work to “incorporate the latest tools and approaches for shared learning and collective action established during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The PRET document describes misinformation as a “health threat,” and refers to it as an “infodemic.”
“Infodemic is the overabundance of information – accurate or not – which makes it difficult for individuals to adopt behaviors that will protect their health and the health of their families and communities. The infodemic can directly impact health, hamper the implementation of public health countermeasures and undermine trust and social cohesiveness,” the document states.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is holding fast in negotiations with the White House and Senate Democrats, pushing for deep spending cuts and other key concessions from the left in exchange for lifting the debt ceiling.
The White House attempted to float a freeze on spending at current levels per sources involved in the negotiations, but McCarthy rebuffed the administration’s proposal and is holding out seeking actual cuts to spending levels.
While sources involved say they are unsure at this time exactly how much spending will be cut, some say it could be into the tens of or hundreds of billions of dollars of spending cuts, combined with caps on future years of discretionary non-military spending.
“This is going to be a historic deal,” one key staffer involved in negotiations told Breitbart News.
Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) said Wednesday that he “wouldn’t care” if Ukraine used American-made F-16s to strike Russian territory despite the risk of such an attack escalating into a direct clash between the US and Russia.
When asked by Epoch Times reporter Liam Cosgrove if he was concerned about the potential of Ukraine using F-16s to hit targets inside Russia, Nadler said, “No, I’m not concerned. I wouldn’t care if they did.”
Nadler said it was unlikely Ukraine would use F-16s to attack Russian territory, but Cosgrove pointed out that US-made armored vehicles were used in a cross-border raid in Russia’s Belgorod region that was launched on Monday.
“That may be, but they’re not gonna use major weapons. Things like F-16s, they need for air defense over Ukraine so that they can provide air cover for their counterattack and things like that. They’re not gonna waste it in Russia,” Nadler said.
Since the start of the year, President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has released more than 2,300 illegal alien convicted criminals into the United States from detention, data reviewed by Breitbart News shows.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data reveals that from January through the second week of May, Biden’s DHS released 2,310 illegal alien convicts into American communities, along with more than 2,850 illegal aliens with pending criminal charges.
Of those illegal alien convicts released from ICE custody since January, nearly 830 bonded out, 612 were released on an order of recognizance, nearly 700 were released on an order of supervision, and over 170 were allowed to parole out.
“With ICE releasing convicted criminals and those with pending criminal charges into American communities, Americans and immigrants will needlessly suffer,” the Heritage Foundation’s Lora Ries told Breitbart News.
United States regulators have given approval for Elon Musk’s start-up Neuralink to test its brain implants on people.
Neuralink said on Thursday that it received clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the first human clinical study of implants which are intended to let the brain interface directly with computers.
“We are excited to share that we have received the FDA’s approval to launch our first-in-human clinical study,” Neuralink said in a post on Twitter – which is owned by Musk.
General Dynamics Electric Boat has received a $1.076 billion contract modification for the construction of two US Navy Virginia-class nuclear-powered fast-attack submarines.
The agreement supports US defense’s ongoing program to produce additional vessels for its Virginia-class cruise missile submarine fleet.
Advanced procurement funds under the contract will be utilized to purchase materials and major equipment for the hulls of future SSN 812 and 813 submarines.
Work for the contract will be conducted at multiple US sites and is expected to be completed by September 2033.
“This contract modification sends a crucial demand signal to the submarine industrial base, enabling our suppliers to invest in the capacity and materials needed to increase production volume,” General Dynamics Electric Boat President Kevin Graney stated.
The Sudanese Doctors Syndicate confirmed on Thursday that the death toll from the latest fighting in Sudan has risen to 865, amid ongoing clashes between rival military factions in the conflict-hit country.
The death toll increase came despite a US and Saudi-brokered ceasefire which had already witnessed several violations including airstrikes, heavy artillery and gunfire in the streets of the capital Khartoum and neighbouring Omdurman.
The medical union put the blame for the rising number of casualties on the ongoing fighting between the Sudanese army, headed by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), headed by his rival General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, also known as 'Hemedti'.
A group of parents are saying they'll boycott a Los Angeles elementary school's gay pride day set for next Friday and will keep their children "home and innocent" instead.
What are the details?
An Instagram page — Saticoy Elementary Parents — went up about a week ago in opposition to planned gay pride activities at Saticoy Elementary in North Hollywood, which includes kindergarteners through fifth-graders, the Los Angeles Times reported.
“Keep your kids home and innocent,” a flier created by the parents group reads, the Times said. “Videos will be shown to the students including one where it says, ‘some kids have 2 mommies, some have 2 daddies.' This has caused outrage among parents.”
Most Americans are unaware that a new rule from President Biden's ATF is less than one week away from turning millions of fellow citizens into felons overnight.
The new rule targets firearms that utilize a brace, a device originally designed to aid disabled veterans in shooting guns without assistance. These braces were approved for sale and use by ATF themselves.
An estimated 40 million of these firearms are owned by law-abiding citizens. Those citizens, unless aware of the ATF's rule change, will become felons on June 1st – unless the House votes on H. J. Res. 44 to overturn the ban using the Congressional Review Act.
It’s hardly breaking news that the relationship between the Kiev regime and its armed forces has been anything but harmonious. However, in recent months, growing fault lines and factionalism have continued to escalate and are reaching dangerous levels, almost to the point that serious military opposition to Zelensky and his henchmen is currently being formed. Nowadays, the former Ukrainian military is a largely dysfunctional conglomerate of the old Soviet cadres, the more recent “NATO-ized” officer corps and special services, as well as the various openly Neo-Nazi units that have certain NATO training, although their combat experience mostly comes from fighting the Donbass republics.
As of last year, we could also add tens of thousands of mercenaries and volunteers to this volatile mix, as well as NATO special forces that have been operating, training and directing the regular Kiev regime troops. It truly is a laborious task to coordinate and command so many divergent groups within the junta’s armed forces, particularly when taking into account that the political West is imposing effectively impossible tasks on these people, ones that are designed for an infowar rather than actual military operations that accomplish attainable goals. The recent abortive attack on several villages in the Belgorod oblast (region) serves as a gory testament to that.
For the Kiev regime frontman Volodymyr Zelensky, it’s rather easy to order such operations, because he’s not the one being sent to certain death just so the political West can use those strategically (and even tactically) meaningless “offensives” to denigrate the Russian military. This is precisely why many of the aforementioned groups within the armed forces are deeply dissatisfied with Zelensky and his administration. Although this is not to say there’s a “Ukrainian Claus von Stauffenberg” or a “conspiracy of generals” going after him, the outlines of a strong military opposition are already certainly visible. This could be extremely dangerous for Zelensky, particularly if these groups were to set aside their differences.
Whichever way one games it out, there’s close to no chance that Kiev’s counteroffensive will meet the Western public’s expectations absent some black swan event, which means that Biden will be running for re-election with two losses under his belt in Afghanistan and Ukraine. It’s difficult to imagine that Americans will give him and his team another four years in office after they humiliated the US so badly, but tens of thousands more might still die before these warmongers are removed from power.
Senior Ukrainian presidential advisor Mikhail Podolyak told Italian media that his country’s much-hyped counteroffensive already began a few days ago, which is curious since that timeframe coincides with its proxy invasion of Russia’s Belgorod Region that was just copium for deflecting from Artyomovsk’s loss. That media-driven stunt tremendously failed to achieve any tangible gains, however, thus raising even more questions than ever before about whether the counteroffensive will succeed at all.
The Washington Post raised awareness in March about how poorly Kiev’s troops were faring in the NATO-Russian proxy war, which was followed by Politico citing unnamed Biden Administration officials a month later who worried about the consequences of it failing to meet the public’s expectations. Former Russian chess champion Garry Kasparov then concocted a conspiracy theory wildly speculating that Kremlin agents infiltrated the White House and sabotaged the counteroffensive before it even began.
The School of Visual Arts is reviewing Manhattan professor Shellyne Rodriguez’s employment after she threatened a Post reporter with a machete and went viral for cursing out anti-abortion students at another college.
The unhinged arts professor is under investigation by the NYPD after she was filmed holding the blade to the veteran reporter’s neck while threatening to “chop” him up outside her Bronx apartment Tuesday.
“SVA is aware of the incidents involving one of our faculty members, Shellyne Rodriguez, who is not currently teaching any courses at the College,” a spokesperson for the private school told The Post on Wednesday.
“We are assessing to determine any potential next steps.”
Among the groups identified by the University of Dayton involved in “far-right radicalization” are the Heritage Foundation, Fox News, and the Republican Party. Quillette and Dennis Prager’s “Prager U” are even more extreme, just shy of the Nazi Party according to their classification of an “extremism” pyramid. Breitbart, Turning Point USA, and of course, MAGA are similarly identified.
The FBI is continuing to stonewall congressional oversight of the agency’s investigation into a pair of pipe bombs found at the Democrat National Committee and Republican National Committee headquarters on Jan. 6, 2021.
On Wednesday, House Republicans on the Judiciary Committee re-upped demands for a comprehensive briefing on the two-year-old case over which the FBI has refused transparency.
“Your failure to comply with our request is particularly concerning given recent media reports regarding the pipe bomb investigation,” lawmakers wrote.
Earlier this month, an FBI whistleblower told the Washington Times the FBI identified the vehicle the suspect entered shortly after planting the bombs but has not pursued the individual.
“The FBI had surveillance video that showed the person entering a car with a visible license plate after exiting a Metro stop in Northern Virginia,” the Times reported.
The Japanese government has opted to build up a huge domestic fusion industry to secure a leading role in the future commercial utilization of fusion power.
This policy is clearly set forth in a document published on April 14 by the Japanese Cabinet, entitled “Fusion Energy Innovation Strategy.” The new policy goes far beyond merely stepping up the participation of Japanese industry and scientific institutes in international projects.
The explicit intention is to create the industrial and manpower base for Japan to build – and no doubt export – its own commercial fusion plants, if possible in advance of other industrial nations.
One cannot help but recall the way the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) famously built up Japan’s industry, systematically, sector by sector, starting in 1949. The new “Fusion Innovation Strategy” is solidly rooted in Japan’s industrial policy tradition.
Hard-line conservatives are fuming over the debt deal compromise being negotiated between Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and the White House — and they’re warning about collapsing GOP support.
Rep. Bob Good (R-Va.) said he was “concerned about rumors” he was hearing about a deal that would raise the debt ceiling higher than what House Republicans proposed without getting more concessions in return.
He offered a stark prediction of the consequences.
“If that were true, that would absolutely collapse the Republican majority for this debt ceiling increase,” Good said, adding the rumors he has heard mean the deal would be “less than desirable, I believe, to the majority of Republicans.”
