Some counties within Illinois are interested in branching off and becoming a state of their own.
A growing number of southern Illinois counties have voted to leave the state itself and form their state. The resolutions passed by these counties are non-binding, and they don't have the force of law. However, they do show a growing displeasure with the total influence that Cook County (the home county of Chicago) has over the entire state.
There is a lot of frustration throughout southern Illinois to look at possible alternatives to their forced marriage with Chicago. Twenty-seven counties in total have voted to leave the state. In many counties, the percentage of people voting in favor of leaving the state exceeds 75%.
The Anti-Defamation League, the leading pro-Israel lobbying group in America, ordered a global advertiser boycott of Elon Musk's Twitter on Friday for not doing enough to censor Kanye "Ye" West and other critics of their power.
In two volatile spots in the occupied West Bank, Israel has installed robotic weapons that can fire tear gas, stun grenades and sponge-tipped bullets at Palestinian protesters.
The weapons, perched over a crowded Palestinian refugee camp and in a flashpoint West Bank city, use artificial intelligence to track targets. Israel says the technology saves lives — both Israeli and Palestinian. But critics see another step toward a dystopian reality in which Israel fine-tunes its open-ended occupation of the Palestinians while keeping its soldiers out of harm’s way.
The new weapon comes at a time of heightened tensions in the occupied West Bank, where unrest has risen sharply during what has been the deadliest year since 2006. The victory by former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s hard-line alliance, which includes an extreme right-wing party with close ties to the settler movement, has raised concerns of more violence.
The GOP Establishment has fingered a culprit for the disappointing midterm results: Donald Trump. GOP leaders and Conservatism Inc. pundits claim the American people want something different. They insist Trump’s candidates were sure losers and the party should no longer support such politicians. Many think this argument is just about Trump the man, but it’s not. The GOP Ruling Class wants to rid the party of Trumpism and resurrect its Business First program. Instead of Trumpism without Trump, the elites want a GOP without Trumpism.
The Wall Street Journal made this clear in an editorial the day after the election. The newspaper didn’t just blame Trump—it blamed the candidates he backed. “What will Democrats do when Donald Trump isn’t around to lose elections?” the editorial board asked:
We have to wonder because on Tuesday Democrats succeeded again in making the former President a central campaign issue, and Mr. Trump helped them do it.
Trumpy Republican candidates failed at the ballot box in states that were clearly winnable. This can’t be what Mr. Trump was envisioning ahead of his “very big announcement” next week. Yet maybe the defeats are what the party needs to hear before 2024.
Vladimir Putin’s new strategy in the war he launched on Ukraine in February is to conscript the coming winter of 2022-23 as an ally of his failing army.
For weeks, there have been reports of Russian air, missile and drone strikes on power plants in every major Ukrainian city.
The false report that a Russian-fired rocket had landed in Poland, killing two civilians, came on a day when 100 Russian bombs, rockets, missiles and drones hit ”infrastructure” targets across Ukraine.
It was the heaviest Russian barrage to date in the nine-month war.
Putin’s goal: As the Ukrainian army battles the Russian army in the Donbas and Kherson, the power grid upon which the Ukrainian nation and people depend is to be systematically attacked, shut down, destroyed.
At least two counties in Arizona have confirmed that their certification of the 2022 election will be delayed as the state’s attorney general’s office wrote a letter claiming there’s evidence of “statutory violations” that occurred in Maricopa County on Election Day.
U.S. Army veteran Richard Fierro told reporters that “combat mode” kicked in when a gunman opened fire Saturday at Club Q in Colorado Springs, Colorado, while he was there with his wife and daughter to celebrate a friend’s birthday.
The resolution calls on the European Commission to “to launch initiatives to promote European video games that showcase European values, history and diversity.”
While that sounds wholesome and fine, according to the resolution, esports and video games, as they currently stand, pose challenges for European society in the digital sphere — including “cheating, adverse impacts on environmental sustainability, online features that can be misused for online violence or harassment, especially towards female players, and disinformation.”
An exclusive analysis by Revolver News can prove that the FBI is in possession of, but has refused to release, security camera footage of the January 6 pipe bomber planting the pipe bomb at the DNC building at 7:52 p.m. on January 5th.
This extraordinary revelation should be the immediate subject of Congressional inquiry as to why the FBI has stonewalled release of the footage.
An executive summary of the missing footage has been condensed in this video below:
At Revolver, we have been focused on the two clips of video footage from DNC building security cameras that the FBI released on March 2021 and September 2021, respectively.
In August 2022, we definitively proved the DNC camera footage from the FBI’s September 2021 release should have captured the “money shot” of the pipe bomber taking the bomb out of the bag and planting it near a park bench in front of the DNC building. But for some reason, the FBI censored the tape so that the public could not see the alleged criminal walk back into the camera frame to commit the actual criminal act.
Over the past two months, we took a closer look at the DNC surveillance footage the FBI provided to the public. What we found was even more bizarre, and more damning than our initial discovery that the FBI is withholding critical footage of the pipe bomber actually planting the bomb.
There have been two official investigations. One concluded Oswald acted alone, the other that there was a conspiracy. After forty years, many of the key documents which could tell the whole story remain classified. Why, if it is an open and shut case? Why the secrecy, if Oswald was just a "crazed lone gunman"?
On this day in history, Nov. 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy — the 35th president of the United States — was assassinated while riding in an open-car motorcade in downtown Dallas, Texas.
The shocking event of 59 years ago happened near the end of JFK's third year as president.
Riding in the same car as Kennedy and first lady Jacqueline Kennedy was Texas Gov. John B. Connally, as well as Connally's wife, Nellie Connally.
That same day, the suspect in the shooting, Lee Harvey Oswald, was arrested. Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in as president that day as well as the stunned nation absorbed the blow of so suddenly and violently losing its elected president.
‘Gunfire suddenly reverberated’
Crowds of excited people lined the streets of Dallas and waved to the Kennedys that day, as the JFK Library's website notes of the president's campaign event — one of several — that day in Texas.
President John F. Kennedy speaks to the nation in his inaugural address on Jan. 20, 1961, sharing what some consider his most famous statement: "And so my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world, ask not what America will do for you, but what we can do for the freedom of man." (AP 1961)
A glimpse at what the Lake campaign might use as fodder for its lawsuits was shared with The Western Journal in the form of a report from Mark Sonnenklar about what the roving attorneys saw on Election Day. The Western Journal has not independently verified the claims in this report.
Sonnenklar said 10 roving attorneys out of 16 responded to a survey he sent them, and that his report covers 115 voting places out of the 223 places in Maricopa County.
Overall, he wrote, “72 of the 115 vote centers (62.61%) we visited had material problems with the tabulators not being able to tabulate ballots, causing voters to either deposit their ballots into box 3, spoil their ballots and re-vote, or get frustrated and leave the vote center without voting.”
“In many vote centers, the tabulators rejected the initial insertion of a ballot almost 100 percent of the time, although the tabulators might still accept that ballot on the second, third, fourth, fifth, or sixth attempt to insert the ballot,” he wrote.
“However, many ballots were not able to be tabulated by the tabulators at all, no matter how many times the voter inserted the ballot. The percentage of ballots that were not able to beread at all by the tabulators ranged from 5% to 85% at any given time on election day, with the average being somewhere between 25 percent and 40 percent failure rates,” he wrote.
Sonnenklar noted that at many polling places, “the printer/tabulator issues persisted from the beginning of election day until the end of election day.”
Kyle Rittenhouse is teasing a potential future run for Congress.
Currently, he is only 19 years old and is thus not eligible to become a member of Congress. However, Rittenhouse posted a picture of the Capitol on his social media accounts and cheekily asked, "T-minus 5 years until this is my office?".
Essentially, the young Rittenhouse was suggesting that he might run for Congress and even win a seat in Congress in the future.
Rittenhouse was acquitted of five criminal charges related to the fatal shootings of Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber at a Black Lives Matter protest on August 25, 2020.
The EU can’t have its own puppets swashbuckling the high life and doing their own thing, can they?
Is it possible that the President of the European commission, Ursula von der Leyen is not quite as squeaky clean as some might assume? Do such lightweights, who define themselves by how much they fail to achieve, who come from the bowels of political obscurity in Germany rise to such prominence without a little help from powerful elites, masonic links and corrupt corporations?
The answer is of course. In fact, within the scope of the European Union and its institutions in Brussels and Luxembourg, this is largely the tradition: to either install puppets who serve powerful governments and their corrupt interests, or giant industry itself. Corruption rules.
And so it should come as little surprise that Ursula has been implicated in playing a murky role in a 35bn euro vaccine deal which stinks so much that it has the very dark powers in Brussels are working over time on a damage limitation plan to save the collective neck of the EU as it heads towards the abyss: its own elections in 2024, which are expected to have all time low voter turn out with far-right groups making a killing in the European parliament.
How the world appears all depends on whether your gaze is firmly focussed on the hub of the wheel, Alastair Crooke writes.
How the world appears all depends on whether your gaze is firmly focussed on the hub of the wheel, or alternatively, were you to watch the wheel’s rotation around the hub – and the bearing it follows – you would see the world differently.
Looked at from a DC-centric perspective, all is still: Nothing (as it were), is moving geo-politically. Was there an election in the U.S.? Well, certainly there is no longer an ‘Election Day’ event as the new mechanics of ballots vs in-person voting, commencing up to 50 days earlier, and ploughing on, weeks after, has become far removed from the old notion of having ‘an election’, and an aggregate macro outcome.
From this ‘centric’ viewpoint, the Midterms change nothing – stasis.
