Thought for the day

"If there is one basic element in our Constitution, it is civilian control of the military." -- Harry S. Truman

On September 1st, in front of Independence Hall, where brave, brilliant men signed the Declaration of Independence, standing up to the bully King George III and denouncing England’s oppressive government rule over the colonies, The Great Dictator, Joe Biden, spoke to his comrades.  For the other 75 million Americans, we were unmistakably told that we are a threat to democracy, “an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.”

Trying to get in front of their numerous, devastating losses and failures, the regime chose to employ the tactics of socialist darling, Saul Alinsky, by projecting everything they are doing onto their political enemies, the MAGA Republicans.  The President of the United States, flanked by two uniformed Marines, bathing in blood red light, referred to these Americans as “MAGA extremists” and conveyed persistently that they are a threat to democracy.  By “democracy” Biden of course means their oppressive, unforgiving control over the republic; their “oligarchy.”

The Great Dictator seems to approve of unthreatening, establishment Republicans, which comes as no surprise but has declared war on the nearly 75 million Americans who voted for the bad, mean tweeting orange man who stands between us and them.  Boy did Trump trip a nerve with these folks.  Ever wonder what that’s really about?

The democrats are showing their cards.  They are so desperate to hold on to power that they are willing to throw away law and order, public safety, the economy, the constitution, election integrity, free speech, your way of life, and grossly abuse political power against political enemies, all to stop Trump.  It is time to ask yourself why they are so frantic and so willing to destroy the greatest constitutional federal republic on earth.  To what end and why?

The EU has “tools” to respond if the political situation in Italy goes in a “difficult direction,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Thursday. She hinted that the country could face punishments such as those recently leveled against Hungary and Poland if the upcoming election results in the predicted right-wing sweep.

“My approach is that whatever democratic government is willing to work with us, we’re working together,” she said in response to a question over whether she had “concerns” about Sunday’s Italian parliamentary vote, in which the conservative Fratelli d’Italia (Brothers of Italy) are projected to take first place.

“If things go in a difficult direction, I’ve spoken about Hungary and Poland, we have tools,” von der Leyen explained.

The U.S Postal Service spied on ‘MAGA’ protesters, gun rights activists and other right-wing groups between late 2020 and early 2021, according to records obtained by The Washington Times. ‘MAGA’ is former President Donald Trump’s slogan meaning “Make America Great Again.”

Patrick Eddington, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute, obtained heavily redacted files detailing the USPS’ surveillance activities from September 2020 to April 2021, which included a secret effort to surveil social media known as the Internet Covert Operations Program (iCOP).

The USPS monitored the activities of gun rights activists, protesters planning to demonstrate against police in Louisville, Kentucky after the shooting of Breonna Taylor, and right-wing groups traveling to Washington, D.C. after the 2020 election.

Eddington said the documents demonstrate the USPS’ surveillance capabilities.

Hurricane Fiona continues to pummel Bermuda with 125 mph winds and 30-foot tidal swells as the Category 3 storm capsizes yachts along the island's harbors and leaves 70 percent of the island without power.

The tidal swells have caused chaos in Hamilton Harbor, where ABC News' Rob Marciano reports that boats are either being tossed onto land or sinking.

'A number of these boats are not just coming onboard, they're actually sinking,' Marciano said. 'It is just crazy here.'

A leading Johns Hopkins University medical professor is raising the alarm about a spike in serious heart damage being recorded in children.

Dr. Marty Makary is a surgeon and public policy researcher at Johns Hopkins and is regarded as one of America’s leading medical experts.

He’s warning that there has been a sharp rise in “significant heart damage,” or myocarditis, in children.

Makary has blasted the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for ignoring the issue.

Rather than investigating the cases, Makary says the CDC has “downplayed” the issue.

Makary appeared on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show where he expressed major concerns about the soaring childhood myocarditis cases.

“And in some people who received it [the vaccine], there appears to be serious heart damage,” Carlson said.

“Far more than the experts thought would occur.

If you have a carbon monoxide detector, make sure it isn’t included in this consumer alert.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is warning people about the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning while using the HECOPRO digital display carbon monoxide detector. The device was sold on Amazon under ASIN B07T66J7KJ for between $9 and $13.

The detectors are made of white plastic, with approximate dimensions of 4.1 x 1.8 x 4.1 inches, featuring a digital display. The devices are generally advertised to detect dangerous levels of carbon monoxide and alert with a flashing red LED and a loud alarm pattern.

The alert comes as the CPSC learned that the device can fail to alert people to the presence of carbon monoxide. Sensitivity tests performed on the detectors found they failed to alert when exposed to the pre-determined concentrations of carbon monoxide in violation of safety standards.

Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn and 32 other Senate Republicans are demanding special counsel powers for the prosecutor investigating Hunter Biden.

The lawmakers say they fear Attorney General Merrick Garland or others at the Justice Department may attempt to meddle in the probe to protect President Joe Biden and his son.

“It is clear that Hunter Biden thrived off of a ‘pay to play’ culture of access to his father, then Vice President Joe Biden in exchange for financial compensation,” Cornyn and his colleagues wrote in the letter.

“Given that the investigation involves the President’s son,” the letter from Cornyn says, “we believe it is important to provide U.S. Attorney Weiss with special counsel authorities and protections to allow him to investigate an appropriate scope of potentially criminal conduct, avoid the appearance of impropriety, and provide additional assurances to the American people that the Hunter Biden investigation is free from political influence.”

Farmers across the world are in open revolt against their governments. In India, thousands of farmers have stormed New Delhi, alleging collusion between the Prime Minister and major agricultural corporations. In the Netherlands, new restrictions on nitrogen emissions from fertilizer that threaten to destroy farmers’ livelihoods have driven battalions of tractors into the streets—and conflicts with the police. In Sri Lanka, the President’s sudden decision to ban chemical fertilizers and impose universal organic farming recently led to massive protests and the collapse of their government. Similar environmentalist policies are about to be imposed in Ireland and Canada, where just last year truckers shut down the city of Ottawa over COVID vaccination mandates.

Writing for National Review, Andrew Stuttaford predicts an impending farmer’s uprising in Canada in response to what he calls Canada’s “war on beef.” The phrase echoes a common belief on the American right that leftists seek to hyper-regulate or outright ban animal protein in the same way they do guns or fossil fuels. The Foundation for Economic Education began talking about a “war on meat” as early as 2019. Senator Joni Ernst referenced “the left’s war on meat” to advocate her TASTEE Act last year. John Daniel Davidson of The Federalist recently warned that “America is Next” for a farmer uprising, due to the climate policies that Democrats are imposing here. Ultimately, many Americans have come to agree that this war on meat is a conspiracy of globalist elites, attributing even everyday agricultural misfortunes such as fertilizer scarcity, diesel fuel price hikes, widespread food processing and crop fires, and supply chain disruptions to a purposeful agenda.

The average American has lost $4,200 in annual income since President Biden took office — entirely wiping out gains made under the Trump administration, an analysis from the Heritage Foundation shows.

The losses come down to surging inflation and higher interest rates, experts at the conservative think tank said in a Thursday report.

Their analysis found that the average American has lost about $3,000 in annual purchasing power because consumer prices, which have risen 12.7% since January 2021, have spiked significantly faster the wages.

Wages have risen just 8% over the same period, which has effectively resulted in a pay cut for Americans struggling to pay for daily necessities including food, gas and rent.

Her latest word salad was a public speech that quickly turned around social media. She has a habit of getting stuck on one word, and we see that again. It’s pretty painful.

Herald Online stated, “Harris noted the Biden administration’s $12 billion investment into community banks.”
