Thought for the day

"But certainly for the present age, which prefers the sign to the thing signified, the copy to the original, representation to reality, the appearance to the essence . . . only illusion is sacred, truth has become profane. Nay, sacredness is held to be enhanced in proportion as truth decreases and illusion increases, so that the highest degree of illusion comes to be the highest degree of sacredness." -- Ludwig Feuerbach, (1804-1872), Preface to the second edition of The Essence of Christianity"Those who are too smart to engage in politics are punished by being governed by those who are dumber." -- Plato

The U.S. Administration will not rush into buying crude to refill the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), and purchase plans don’t contain any oil price below which the Administration will start buying the crude, the U.S. Department of Energy says.

Image removed.

In March, the Biden Administration authorized the release of 1 million barrels per day (bpd) from the SPR over a period of six months in a bid to lower oil prices and potentially boost domestic production through contracts with companies to purchase future oil at fixed prices. The SPR releases are a response to the disruption of global oil markets caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and subsequent Western sanctions that have led to soaring oil and gas prices. The final plan called for a total release of 180 million barrels of crude from the SPR to counter the inexorable increase in oil prices amid a tight market.

Earlier this week, Bloomberg News reported that the Administration could start filling the SPR when oil prices drop below $80 per barrel. The timing is being considered as the Biden Administration looks to have U.S. oil production continue growing and prevent a plunge in oil prices, sources with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg.

[ZH: Having thus announced the 'floor' in crude prices for the coming months, and having been ridiculed by many on the market for doing so, a response was necessary... no matter how risible it appeared.]

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell was picking up food at a fast food chain drive-through when three cars driven by federal agents blocked him.

Mike Lindell's autobiography came out in 2019 highlights his road to recovery. (Courtesy of Mike Lindell)

It was Sept. 13 afternoon in Mankato, Minnesota. Lindell and a friend were halfway back from a duck hunting trip in Iowa.

As one car pulled up perpendicularly in front of his car, a second pulled up alongside; and a third then appeared from behind, sandwiching Lindell’s car in the middle.

Lindell stuck his head out of the car window. “Who are you guys?” he asked.

The agents identified themselves as the FBI. “We just wanted to talk to you,” they said, Lindell recounted in an interview with The Epoch Times.

The FBI, he said, targeted him over the voter fraud allegations he has voiced, and later seized his cell phone despite his vocal protests.

In what might have lasted between half an hour and 45 minutes, Lindell’s food ran cold and his ice cream malt melted as the FBI agents questioned his proof to back up the election fraud allegations. Among other lines of questioning were Lindell’s ties to Colorado Mesa County clerk Tina Peters, the local election overseer he met at a cyber symposium he hosted last August. Peters has faced charges related to a breach of security protocols for her county’s voting systems, to which she pleaded not guilty last week.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry has responded to widespread reports this week indicating that the United States is mulling the transfer of longer range missile systems to Ukraine's military. For example, a Monday Wall Street Journal report detailed that Kiev is now requesting the Army's Tactical Missile System, or ATACMS, a surface-to-surface missile system with the capability of reaching about 190 miles. This would be far and beyond the range of missiles transferred to Ukraine thus far in the conflict.

There is also the option of removing current limits the US has been placing on the type of missiles shipped for the HIMARS systems already provided to Ukraine. In a Thursday press briefing, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned that if longer range munitions are supplied, the US would become "a party to the conflict" in crossing this "red line"

There’s allegedly another new COVID variant floating around. The BA 4.6 variant is said to “evade immune protection.”

As we predicted, new variants will come after the Food and Drug Administration decided to approve an experimental vaccine booster with no human trials specifically for Omicron.

COVID Variant Booster Authorization Is Coming This Week, Brace For The Next Variant

The newest booster injection full of mRNA technology (an experimental gene therapy shot) is set to be authorized this week before human trials can be completed. So, when is the next variant that will evade this vaccine too?

It’s a fair question, considering this is supposed to be an “Omicron specific” booster shot. But it’s more than clear that the original COVID shots aren’t stopping COVID, so why would this one work? My speculation is that it won’t and instead, we’ll be told there’s a new and deadly terrible vaccine-resistant variant that even five shots won’t stop. –SHTFPlan

On September 13, 2022, the New Zealand government announced that they will be rolling back covid-19 restrictions and vaccine mandates. “The Science” is suddenly collapsing in New Zealand, as the population exits its state of mass psychosis and learns to reject new vaccine booster programs, forced masks, and social distancing.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said, “It’s time to safely turn the page on our COVID-19 management and live without the extraordinary measures we have previously used.” She said the rollback on restrictions and mandates is a “milestone” and now the population can “move forward with certainty.”

New Zealanders no longer tolerating medical tyranny, as “the science” narrative collapses

Just a year ago, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern rolled out a “traffic-light system” of population control that held the people hostage to “The Science” of lockdowns, family separation, forced masks, isolation, PCR tests, and mandatory mRNA vaccines.

Do you remember the panic that swept through Wall Street in September 2008?  Well, a lot of people believe that it is starting to happen again.  And once selling starts to spiral out of control, it is going to be incredibly difficult to stop.  On Monday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1,276 points.

That was the seventh biggest single-day decline in history, and on a point basis, it was actually larger than anything that we witnessed back in 2008.  Investors were bitterly disappointed by the monthly inflation report because it showed that everything that the Fed has done so far has not worked.  It appears to be inevitable that the Fed will continue to raise interest rates in a desperate attempt to get inflation under control, and that has put Wall Street in a very sour mood.

The widespread selling that we saw on Tuesday was more than just a little bit frightening.  The Dow just kept plunging throughout the day, and the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq actually performed even worse than the Dow did…

California’s Central Valley, and specifically the portion dubbed the rice capital of California has become an “agricultural wasteland.” The latest satellite imagery of the area shows a “mini dust bowl,” according to experts.

A report via the US Department of Agriculture shows about 300,000 out of the 550,000 acres committed to rice growing in California will go without harvest. This could potentially drive up sushi prices nationwide because most of the rice produced in the state is for just that, according to a report by ZeroHedge.

Kurt Richter, a third-generation rice farmer from Colusa, the heart of California’s rice capital, told the San Francisco Chronicle that many formerly abundant fields are now a massive “wasteland” of dry ground and nothing, in part due to drought.

This is all by design. California’s intentional coincidental mismanagement and tyrannical overreach have destroyed agriculture in the state, which will make the food supply even tighter.

Since the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was first approved under the FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization on Dec. 11, 2020, the world has been told that the mRNA technology used in the vaccine would not integrate into or alter the DNA of those who took it.

There have been multiple “fact-checks” of this claim in multiple mainstream outlets like Reuters,, and others. Many of them set out to debunk a Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) pre-print study which made the claim that the novel coronavirus could modify human DNA but was misconstrued online by folks who claimed the vaccines altered DNA.

The issue became highly controversial as this study was not peer-reviewed and did not say anything about the actual vaccine. It was an easy case to be made by the fact-checkers as the authors never set out to study the vaccines in the first place.

Scientists have reverse-engineered a version of the Spanish flu so they can make a “vaccine” for it. As they continue to awkwardly and dangerously try to manipulate viruses, they lament that the virus is not quite deadly enough though.

Unsurprisingly, the National Institutes of Health (“NIH”) and Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (“NIAID”) are involved in the creation of viruses. The real question that mainstream media won’t even ask, is if these sociopaths can recreate a virus, did they originally create the first viruses? Scientists cannot agree on whether viruses are alive or dead, so what if they are both, like artificial intelligence? It’s just a question, and not one anyone has been asking. After all, big pharma vaccine makers actually admit they use “technology” to make mRNA injections.

The argument that we need to create dangerous viruses “just in case” Nature comes up with something similar, so we can create vaccines for said viruses in advance, simply doesn’t hold water. This is science gone mad, and it must be stopped. -Daily Exposé

Three members of the US Congress have penned a letter to President Joe Biden asking him to clarify what his administration is doing when it communicates and meets with representatives of Facebook and Twitter to “coordinate” their “fight against misinformation.”

The letter, sent by Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Robert Latta, and Gus Bilirakis, states that its signatories are concerned with what they say is the White House’s attempt to put pressure on Big Tech’s social media to censor or silent opponents.

We obtained a copy of the letter for you here.

For the sake of shedding light on the highly controversial practice, the three Republicans want Biden to turn over records concerning those meetings and communications. They also make a point of the fact Twitter and Facebook are private companies.

China on Thursday issued a strong warning over a bill that was advanced by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that would give Taiwan $6.5 billion in military aid and take other steps to fundamentally change US policy toward Taipei.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said that China is “firmly” opposed to the bill and lodged a complaint to the US over the legislation. She said the bill “seriously breaches” the US commitment to the one-China policy.

When the US normalized relations with Beijing in the 1970s, Washington agreed that there is one China and that Taiwan is a part of that country. The US recognized Beijing as the government of China and severed diplomatic relations with Taipei in 1979 to formalize the policy.

Washington and Brussels will pressure Ankara to step up the economic war on Moscow, the Financial Times reported Thursday. Western officials say the Russian economy has been able to weather the Washington-led sanctions blitz partly because the Turkish economy is offering backdoors to Moscow. According to the diplomats, Turkish banks will now be forced to abandon the Russian Mir payment system.

While a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Turkey has maintained a somewhat neutral position on the war in Ukraine. Ankara’s hesitation to adopt the hawkish position held by the rest of the West allowed Turkey to mediate the talks which produced the grain export agreement. Under the deal, over 720,000 tonnes of food products have left Ukrainian ports.

Last month, Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo warned his Turkish counterpart that Russians were attempting to use Ankara’s economy as a loophole to escape Western sanctions. The Turkish official responded by stressing that Ankara had a profound economic relationship with Kiev and Moscow.

On Thursday, the Biden administration announced a new weapons package for Ukraine worth $600 million, bringing the total US military aid pledged to Kyiv since Russia invaded on February 24 to $15.1 billion.

The new package is being sent to Ukraine through the presidential drawdown authority, which allows President Biden to send arms directly from US military stockpiles. The White House said it was the 21st time that it pulled from US stockpiles to arm Ukraine.

A cease-fire between Armenia and Azerbaijan held Thursday following two days of fighting that killed 176 soldiers from both sides.

Armen Grigoryan, the secretary of Armenia’s Security Council, said the truce brokered thanks to international mediation took effect at 8 p.m. Wednesday. A previous cease-fire that Russia brokered Tuesday had quickly failed.

Armenia's Defense Ministry said late Thursday that the situation on the border with Azerbaijan has been quiet since the cease-fire started and no violations were reported. There was no immediate comment from Azerbaijan.

Webmaster addition: I wonder if Pelosi went to Armenia to try to screw this up and allow a second front to open to split Russia's forces.

The family of Julian Assange has accepted the keys to Mexico City on behalf of the imprisoned WikiLeaks founder, as they continue to campaign for his freedom.

Mr Assange remains in London's Belmarsh Prison pending an appeal against his extradition to the United States.

He has been indicted on 17 espionage charges in the US and one charge of computer misuse, relating to WikiLeaks' publication of thousands of classified documents more than a decade ago.

Mr Assange's father and brother, John and Gabriel Shipton, have travelled to Mexico – where the country's president has been a long-time supporter of the Australian.

"The Mexican President López Obrador has written multiple times to Joe Biden, calling for the prosecution against Julian to be dropped," Gabriel Shipton told the ABC.

The Army plans to dramatically accelerate the production of 155mm artillery shells and precision-guided rockets to make up for all the munitions that the United States has provided to Ukraine, said Doug Bush, assistant secretary of the Army for acquisition, logistics and technology. The US military needs a lot more artillery shells, rockets, and missiles for the next war

“We are seeking over a couple of years to nearly triple our production of 155 [mm shells],” Bush said on Wednesday. Congress has been supportive; we have funding; we are executing and making that happen. We are also, through support from Congress, working to dramatically increase our production rate for GLMRS missiles – Guided MLRS [Multiple Launch Rocket System], HIMARS [High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems] launchers – in most cases doubling or more than doubling current production rates.”

Since Russia launched its full-scale attack on Ukraine in late February, the U.S. military has provided the Ukrainians with roughly 807,000 shells for 155mm howitzers and another 144,000 artillery shells for 105mm guns, according to the Pentagon. Defense officials have not said publicly how many precision-guided rockets that the U.S. military has provided the Ukrainians for the 16 HIMARS that the United States has also given to Ukraine since February 25.

The British government targeted the American civil rights leader Stokely Carmichael and sought to weaken the Black Power movement with covert disinformation campaigns, recently declassified documents have revealed.

The effort was the work of a secret unit known as the Information Research Department, based in London and part of the Foreign Office, which created and distributed literature from fake sources as part of a broader effort to destabilise cold war enemies.

Though focused primarily on the Soviet Union and China, leftwing liberation groups and leaders the UK saw as threats to its interests, the discoveries reveal the IRD from the late 1960s sought to counter more diverse targets too.

VIENNA (Reuters) - The U.N. nuclear watchdog's 35-nation Board of Governors on Thursday passed a resolution demanding that Russia end its occupation of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine.

The resolution is the second on Russia's invasion of Ukraine passed by the International Atomic Energy Agency's board, and their content is very similar, though the first in March preceded Russian forces taking control of Zaporizhzhia, Europe's biggest nuclear power plant.

Both resolutions were proposed by Canada and Poland on behalf of Ukraine, which is not on the board, the IAEA's top policy-making body that meets more than once a year.

Around 82 ships with 418 seafarers remain stuck around Ukrainian ports despite the opening of a U.N.-backed sea corridor to ship grains with efforts to get the mariners sailing still stuck, shipping industry officials said on Thursday.

The agreement reached in July, creating a protected sea transit corridor, was designed to alleviate global food shortages, with Ukraine's customers including some of the world's poorest countries.

However, the initiative only involved dry bulk ships around three Ukrainian ports with dozens of other vessels including oil tankers not able to access the corridor and awaiting approval to leave while waterways remain controlled by Russia and other ports are blocked by Ukraine.

According to analysis by the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) six ships, which had been stuck since Moscow's Feb. 24 invasion of Ukraine, had been able to leave Ukraine before the corridor was announced in July.
