The Supreme Court has been taking up numerous important cases over its recent session. Not every decision it made has pleased Americans. But the consequences of the court’s rulings will affect the country for years to come.

The court has decided to take up a case that could upend a plot being pushed by Democrats for years.

The case will require the court to interpret a law being used to prosecute hundreds of Americans. If the court rules the way the defendant wants, it could spoil plans the left is using to take down many conservatives, including Donald Trump.

From Daily Caller:
The Supreme Court will hear a case Tuesday that could have major implications for hundreds of Jan. 6 defendants…

The case, Fischer v. United States, asks the Supreme Court to weigh the scope of an obstruction statute, Section 1512(c)(2), which penalizes anyone who corruptly “obstructs, influences, or impedes any official proceeding” with up to 20 years in prison. Joseph Fischer, who entered the Capitol on Jan. 6, argues that his prosecution under the law for obstructing Congress’ certification of the 2020 election was an “unprecedented expansion” of the statute.

Even though the UN met for an emergency meeting, the group did not formally condemn or move against Iran. Israel’s representative, along with other members, condemned Iran. However, the Security Council did not issue an official statement. Nor did it take any actions to penalize Iran for its unprecedented attack.

Webmaster addition: Why is this surprising? Israel has thumbed its nose at the UN for decades, bombed UN facilities in Palestine, and killed UN staff! You reap what  you sow!

Around the time the Supreme Court was ruling on abortion rights, radical activists were terrorizing the country. People claiming to be part of a group called “Jane’s Revenge” infamously firebombed pro-life centers.

These far-left extremists attacked pregnancy centers, clinics, and even churches. While the DOJ was quick to prosecute J6 defendants, it seemed slow to find the people who were literally endangering Americans.

Eventually, one person was arrested in connection to these firebomb attacks. After a lengthy court process, he is finally facing justice. And it looks like the court is serving him with a strong sentence.

From The Post Millennial:
A far-left extremist that firebombed a pro-life office in Wisconsin in 2022 has been sentenced to 7.5 years in federal prison, along with three years of supervised release and a $32,000 fine.

The neighborhood of Buckhead has long chafed at the increasingly liberal-slide of the city of Atlanta. The once-proud city has succumbed to the same kind of Democrat policies that are destroying New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

Buckhead has tried to secede from the city and establish its own municipality. But it has failed, as it appears it needs support from Atlanta’s liberal leadership.

It appears Trump saw this as a big opportunity. He attended a fundraiser right in the heart of Buckhead. These folks, who are sick and tired of the liberal government of Atlanta, eagerly attended. And they sent this message to the Democratic Party.

From Fox News:
Former President Donald Trump pulled in millions at a fundraiser in a swanky neighborhood of Atlanta that has for years railed against the Democrat-led city’s spiraling crime rate and lack of support for the police – even working to secede from the city altogether over the policies…

Trump pulled in more than $15 million on Wednesday, from both the Buckhead event and another fundraiser in Orlando, a campaign official said. Guests in Buckhead spent at least $6,600 per couple, and as much as $250,000 if they wished to be part of the event’s welcoming committee, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

The FISA bill being rammed through Congress is "the biggest expansion of domestic surveillance since the Patriot Act" and could compel "an enormous range" of businesses to start acting as NSA spies.

Elizabeth Goitein, who has been at the forefront of reporting on the FISA bill, issued a stark warning Monday in a viral thread on Twitter.

"Through a seemingly innocuous change to the definition of 'electronic communications surveillance provider,' an amendment offered by House intel committee (HPSCI) leaders and passed by the House vastly expands the universe of entities that can be compelled to assist the NSA," Goitein reported.

"If the bill becomes law, any company or individual that provides ANY service whatsoever may be forced to assist in NSA surveillance, as long as they have access to equipment on which communications are transmitted or stored—such as routers, servers, cell towers, etc," she continued.

"That sweeps in an enormous range of U.S. businesses that provide wifi to their customers and therefore have access to equipment on which communications transit. Barber shops, laundromats, fitness centers, hardware stores, dentist’s offices... the list goes on and on," Goitein added. "It also includes commercial landlords that rent out the office space where tens of millions of Americans go to work every day—offices of journalists, lawyers, nonprofits, financial advisors, health care providers, and more."

Israel is reportedly going to reward Jordan for shooting down Iranian drones fired at Israel by extending a water agreement for another year.

From YNetNews, "Israel to extend water agreement with Jordan":

Jordan actively helped thwart the Iranian threat against Israel and now it appears Israel is prepared to thank the Hashemite Kingdom by granting a year's extension, despite previous reluctance.

Following Jordan's involvement in the western coalition's efforts to intercept all missiles and drones fired from Iran toward Israel, it appears Israel has decided to reciprocate; Energy Minister Eli Cohen is widely expected to extend the Jordanian-Israeliwater agreement for an additional year.

In what can be considered the most crucial podcast of 2024 so far, Professor Michael Hudson – the author of seminal works such as Super-Imperialism and the recent The Collapse of Antiquity , among others – clinically lays down the essential background to understand the unthinkable: a 21st century genocide broadcast live 24/7 to the whole planet.

In an email exchange, Prof. Hudson detailed he’s now essentially “spilling the beans” about how, “50 years ago when I worked at the Hudson Institute with Herman Kahn [the model for Stanley Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove], Israeli Mossad members were being trained, including Uzi Arad. I made two international trips with him, and he outlined to me pretty much what has happened today. He became head of Mossad and is now Netanhayu’s advisor.”

Prof. Hudson shows how “the basic Gaza plan is how Kahn designed the Vietnam War’s division into sectors, with canals cutting off each village, as the Israelis are doing to Palestinians. Also already at time, Kahn pinpointed Balochistan as the area to foment disruption in Iran and the rest of the region.”

A controversy has arisen over my analyses of the personal responsibility of former Chancellor Angela Merkel and former President François Hollande in the current war in Ukraine. My colleagues claim that I made it all up and that these two personalities are innocent. I’d just be peddling Russian disinformation.

This controversy is not insignificant: my opponents are trying to whitewash our political leaders, and in so doing they are serving the Western narrative of the war in Ukraine and justifying it.

So here are the facts and documents on which I rely. You be the judge.

On Sunday, April 14, the morning light saw thousands of families leaving southern Gaza and flooding the central Gaza Strip, moving through the areas of Deir al-Balah and the Nuseirat refugee camp with the intention of making their way further north. They were going home.

On their backs they carried what remained of their belongings, moving in several waves along Gaza’s coastal road. In the middle of the street standing among the crowd is a young man, Muhammad Sakher, 21. He screams on camera, shouting about how he has been suffocated by displacement and war, and how all that he wants is to go back to his home in northern Gaza.

“Is there anyone who can feel us? Can anyone have mercy on us and help us?” he tells Mondoweiss with indignation. “We just want to go back to our homes. We are civilians, we have nothing to do with the fighting.”

More than a dozen federal agencies asked to fund the creation of a "novel chimeric SARS-CoV spike protein" with a highly infectious furin cleavage site, two years before COVID-19 emerged, seem likely to follow the "I don't recall" playbook of the federal government's record-setting pensioner under congressional scrutiny.

The onetime lab-leak "conspiracy" has come full circle with the revelation that 15 federal agencies, from the National Institutes of Health to three Cabinet-level departments and multiple components, could have warned the public as early as 2018 of the research planned by China's Wuhan Institute of Virology and EcoHealth Alliance, its nonprofit conduit for federal funding.

The Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML), part of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases led by Anthony Fauci for four decades, was even listed as a "partner" for the WIV project known as DEFUSE, for which EcoHealth President Peter Daszak sought funding at an interagency pitch day for the Preventing Emerging Pathogenic Threats program.

Amal Clooney, the internationally acclaimed lawyer, is a liberal icon. She and her organization, the Clooney Foundation for Justice (CFJ), never shrink from pronouncing their global verdicts on human rights matters. And yet, despite being Lebanese and of Palestinian descent herself, Time magazine’s 2022 Woman of the Year has maintained complete silence on Israel’s continued bombardment of those very countries – a crime other human rights experts have labeled a genocide.

It has now been six months since the October 7 attack, Israel’s wholesale destruction of Gaza and its attacks on Lebanon, yet Clooney has made no public statement on the matter, either in public or on social media, despite mounting calls for her to do so.
