The Joe Biden administration has sent several warnings to Russia via backchannels regarding the possible use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine, the Washington Post reports. The White House’s messages to Russia have been intentionally nondescript to foster uncertainty in Moscow about what the US would do if Russia deployed its ultimate weapon.

The White House has sent the message several times since the war in Ukraine started, according to the US officials who spoke with the Post. The White House’s communications with the Kremlin have been intentionally vague.

The Biden administration believes these nonspecific threats will deter Russia through "strategic ambiguity." "Strategic ambiguity" is an intentionally unclear policy that causes the enemy not to act out of fear it could cross a red line without knowing it.

For nearly 50 years, the US maintained a policy of "strategic ambiguity" toward Taiwan. By refusing to commit to defending the island, Washington has deterred Taipei from declaring independence. At the same time, suggesting it could defend Taiwan has deterred China from acting more aggressively against the island.

However, Biden has taken steps towards abandoning "strategic ambiguity" towards Taiwan. Since taking office, Biden has said he would go to war for Taipei four times.

The French political philosopher Pierre Manet once observed that “human beings are thinking animals who need tolerably accurate ideas and evaluations to orient themselves in the world.” He went on to note that “this is truer the more intellectually active and able the person concerned.”

With regard to the war in Ukraine, we might reasonably ask whether there exist any “tolerably accurate” evaluations – not only of the current situation on the ground, but of how we got to this point.

It may be only a slight exaggeration to say that the reporting and analysis about the war on offer from the most widely seen and read news outlets in the United States are about as diverse as those on offer in, say, North Korea.

World War III has already begun. You simply aren't being told this because your government and dishonest media outlets are dedicated to keeping you in the dark. After all, they want to use the remaining time to stockpile food, ammunition, medical supplies and precious metals for themselves, and this can only be accomplished by withholding the truth about the situation for as long as possible. The Prime Minister of Serbia may be an exception to this, as he is now publicly warning that the world is about to experience a "great world conflict" that will likely begin in the next two months. "Aleksandar Vucic made the alarming comments during the first day of the UN General Assembly session in New York," reports Paul Joseph Watson at The full quote from Vucic is: I assume that we’re leaving the phase of the special military operation and approaching a major armed conflict, and now the question becomes where is the line, and whether after a certain time – maybe a month or two, even – we will enter a great world conflict not seen since the Second World War.

NATO is already at war with Russia, and Putin is gearing up for a continental battle

What's happening is that psychopathic western nations have -- the real aggressors in this war -- have unleashed not just "suicide sanctions" against Russia, but are also running Ukraine's military operations against Russia. This means NATO is already in the war, even if NATO won't admit it yet. Worse yet, NATO leaders are openly demanding the complete destruction of Russia and the occupation / exploitation of Russia's natural resources, which is of course the entire model of global exploitation and pillaging typically carried out by the west. (Disrupt, pillage, control. That's the CIA model that has been unleashed against other nations for decades...) Conditions are already long past the point of negotiation or de-escalation between Russia and the west. The psychopathic leaders of the west (Victoria Nuland comes to mind) are russo-phobic Russia haters who are determined to carry out genocide against the Russian people, even if it means destroying their own economies and agricultural supply chains in the process. These psychopaths, Putin has come to realize, can't be reasoned with or trusted to abide by any agreements whatsoever. Russia realizes it must fight or die. That's where we are right now. Unfortunately, the insanity of western nations has escalated this conflict to a condition where whoever launches nukes first has the advantage. This is a very dangerous dynamic, obviously, and it stems from the fact that the west has repeatedly signaled it will not allow the existence of Russia in its "New World Order" vision of planet Earth. With friends like Victoria Nuland calling the shots, who needs enemies?

We have covered Letitia James’ war on Trump and his family since before she took office as New York Attorney General, and throughout her almost three years in office. James promised to weaponize her massive office against Trump and his family

She has delivered, culminating in the recently announced civil charges that seek to bar Trump, two of his children, and many of his businesses from doing business in NY State. Even the NY Times recognizes the civil lawsuit may prove a tough sell in court: “Property valuations are often subjective, and … all his loans are either current or were paid off, some before they were due.”

Over the summer, the University of Florida (UF) College of Education offered a history course titled “History of Education in the U.S.” that required students to create a positionality statement on their “personal and educational experiences.”

The statement was worth 10% of students’ grades, The New Guard reported.

The course “explores how issues of race, class, gender, exceptionality, sexual identity, language, geography, and religion have historically impacted U.S. education,” the class syllabus explains.

Carolyn Silva, a Ph.D. candidate and teacher of the course, focused primarily on “the development of schooling and educational practices in the land that became the United States and the interaction between educational practices and the larger cultural, social, economic, and political context.”

Nowadays, if one is looking for joke fodder from a state full of political lunacy, social dysfunction and crumbling infrastructure one must now look elsewhere.

One must look to California.

I find it hard to believe that I’m writing that sentence. As a kid, I idolized California, which seemed, on my many visits there, to represent a sort of sunny, fun, innovative, middle-class paradise. But, somehow, the powers-that-be really have managed to screw it up.

Raging wildfires and resulting electricity outages have dogged California, the result of bad forest management.

Homeless encampments filled with drug addicts and human waste have become a common sight in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco under Newsom’s tenure.

Its once-beautiful cities are now full of homeless camps — and, in San Francisco, of excrement. Decades of mismanagement has led to water shortagespower outages and wildfires. Thanks to faddish policing, crime has gone through the roof. Everywhere, the cost of living is becoming unbearable.

And the culture? Once upon a time, California was a relaxed, happy place: “Take It Easy,” sang the Eagles, Los Angeles’ most famous band. Now, almost every high-strung fad in America — our current obsession with pronouns, our preoccupation with “safety,” no-questions-asked sex-change operations for children — seems to have originated in the state. It’s a mess.

Home invasion robbers tie up woman, hold her at gunpoint at 249 Street and 147 Avenue in Queens

Under Democratic rule, homicides in California rose again in 2021, along with other violent crimes.

Newsom’s in-laws Ken and Judy Siebel (far left and fourth from left) decamped to Florida during the pandemic. They even gave money to The Friends of Ron DeSantis — a SuperPAC dedicated to re-electing the governor who Newsom has made his nemesis.

Or, more accurately, it’s a joke. Currently, the governor of California, Gavin Newsom, is trying to start a fight with the state of Florida. This week, he even challenged Florida’s Gov. Ron DeSantis to a televised debate. But Newsom can’t even convince his own family that California has the superior model. It was recently revealed that, during the pandemic, Newsom’s parents-in-law not only moved from California to Floridathey gave money to The Friends of Ron DeSantis — a SuperPAC dedicated to re-electing the governor their son-in-law has made his nemesis. That one had to hurt.

If you thought things couldn’t possibly get any crazier, forget it: a “nutritionist” has proclaimed that “nutrition standards are rooted in whiteness,” and so like Robert E. Lee and Bull Connor, they’ve got to go. Nor is the nutritionist in question, Kéra Nyemb-Diop, some nut raving on the streetcorner; she works for Mondelez International, which is so concerned about nutrition that it produces Oreos and Chips Ahoy!. She is so well respected that the Los Angeles Unified School District’s (LAUSD) Office of Human Relations Diversity and Equity (HRDE) just shared her eating-right-is-racism video on its Instagram account. {snip}

{snip} The video that the L.A. school district wanted those who are foolish enough to follow it on Instagram to see begins with one woman offering another a plate of doughnuts, and being absolutely baffled when they’re refused. {snip} The woman who refused a doughnut is speechless, whereupon the fatty snack pusher scolds her: “Hmm. You’re judging my food choices based on a false standard of ‘health,’ again, aren’t you?”

The refusenik says happily, “Guilty!,” but she doesn’t get off that easily. The video then cuts to Kéra Nyemb-Diop herself, identified only as “@Black.Nutritionist,” who declares: “Diet culture, fatphobia and systems of oppression have created false hierarchies of food; it shows up everywhere.”

The attacks on free and open discussion are becoming more and more widespread. Now, as Toby Young explains in an article this morning, the payment service PayPal has closed the accounts of the Daily Sceptic, which often publishes criticism of the government policy in various matters.

PayPal has also closed the account of the Free Speech Union, which provides support to people whose freedom of opinion is under attack, for example those fired from their jobs because of their opinions. PayPal has even gone as far as to close the rarely used personal account of Toby Young, who is in charge of both the Daily Sceptic and the Free Speech Union, and is also associate editor of The Spectator, one of the world’s most respected newspapers.

As Toby reports in his article, the company has offered no explanation for this move.

When payment services or banks begin to act in this way, it should dawn upon us what a serious threat to free and open exchange of opinions we are facing. Not only can you be fired from your job, your very possibility to make a living will be taken away also.

Now, there is little doubt that many people think that as long as their own opinions are allowed, everything is fine, even if other opinions are forbidden. But that position, apart from being morally wrong, is based on an utter lack of understanding of the threat we face; the question is not if, but when it will be your own opinions that are censored, your own livelihood taken away.

Okay to ban right-wing bullshit” a thoughtless leftist might think. “Okay to ban communist propaganda” the thoughtless right-winger might think. But as Toby points out in his article, it is in fact also left-wing media outlets that PayPal is now attacking, not just right-leaning ones like the Daily Sceptic.

In the name of promoting “diversity,” ruling Greens in the German the city of Hanover plan to ban a third of native citizens from applying for government jobs so they can be given to migrants.

Yes, really.

“A green mayor makes the difference!” wrote Turkish-born Filiz Polat, managing director of the Greens parliamentary group.

Polat was referring to Hanover Mayor Belit Onay, who came to power in November 2019, and is also of Turkish heritage.

“By the end of 2026, a third of all newly advertised positions in the city should be filled by applicants with a migration background,” wrote Polat.

In an effort to vastly increase the number of foreign-origin migrants in positions of local authority, a draft resolution brought by the city’s integration committee will ensure that the “target figure for all new hires is 30 percent.”

On September 23, a referendum began in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, in territories that are under Russian control.

In the DPR and LPR, whose independence Russia recognized in February, the people vote for or against the Republics to join the Russian Federation. In the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, the people answer the question of the regions’ secession from Ukraine, the creation of independent states within their administrative borders, that is, including territories controlled by Ukrainian forces, and their subsequent entry into Russia.

The voting will take five days. In order to ensure the safety of citizens, the first four days they would vote at home. On the last day, residents could vote at the polling stations. Citizens who have left the regions can vote at special polling stations created outside the regions.

In turn, Kiev’s position and military tasks did not change. Ukrainian forces will continue to try to recapture the lost territories. At the same time, following the best ‘democratic traditions’ the Ukrainian authorities threaten the citizens in the lost territories for the expression of their free will. Participation in a referendum may be punishable by imprisonment and confiscation of property.

Kiev attempts to disrupt these referenda not only by political means. In recent days, strikes on residential areas of the cities of the DPR and LPR have been particularly brutal.

The US must change its attitude towards China so the two powers can get along on the world stage, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during a meeting with his US counterpart, Antony Blinken, in New York on Friday.

“China-US relations are at a critical juncture, and it is urgent for both sides to establish a correct way for the two major countries to get along with each other in a responsible attitude towards the world,” Wang told Blinken, according to a statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Wang added that by pledging to defend Taiwan, Washington is undermining China’s sovereignty and “sending a very wrong and dangerous signal.”

China considers the self-governing island its territory and opposes any form of foreign diplomatic and military aid to Taipei. “The issue of Taiwan is China’s internal affair, and the US has no right to interfere,” Wang said.

We hope that the US will correct its perception of China … and stop trying to deal with the Chinese from a position of strength.

According to US State Department spokesman Ned Price, Blinken spoke about the need to maintain open lines of communication with Beijing and stressed that Washington is “committed to maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait, consistent with our longstanding ‘one-China’ policy.”

At first I wondered why the New York Times homepage editor would put a piece about Putin and his alleged involvement in war strategy under 'U.S. Politics'.

Miller’s execution was cleared to move forward by a last-minute decision from the US Supreme Court.
