"The very word 'secrecy' is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it." -- John F. Kennedy
While Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has enjoyed great success in cajoling Western countries to contribute a vast amount of military hardware to support Kiev’s fight against Russia, there is one precious commodity he must provide for himself: manpower.
The NATO-bloc countries can send Ukraine all of the military equipment at its disposal, but if there are no qualified personnel to operate the sophisticated machinery the massive contributions will be of no avail. And make no mistake: Ukraine is bleeding troops faster than they can replace them.
Last month, Russia President Vladimir Putin said Ukraine’s counteroffensive against Russian forces had so far failed and the Ukrainian army had suffered heavy losses of 71,000 men in the three-month-long attacks. Even the Western media does not dispute that figure. That’s an astonishing death toll that does little to encourage Ukrainian patriots to rush to their local recruitment office to enlist on behalf of their beleaguered country. In fact, with Kiev unable to conceal news of the disastrous battlefield results, the only way to get fresh recruits has been to grab men off the street in broad daylight.
While martial law prohibits men aged between 18 and 60 from leaving Ukraine, many have chosen to hide at home to avoid the dreaded military summons, or, when that fails, pay hefty bribes from $2,000 to $10,000 per person to avoid conscription. Meanwhile, an estimated 6 million Ukrainian refugees have escaped to the European Union since the opening of hostilities in February 2022. Zelensky has appealed to European countries to return the Ukrainian draft dodgers with limited success. Thus far only Poland has agreed to return their Ukrainian males seeking shelter.
Sweden’s prime minister summoned the head of the armed forces and the police commissioner in a bid to stem gang violence, he said on Thursday, following a wave of violence that has taken at least 11 lives in September alone.
Two people were killed in separate shootings in Stockholm on Wednesday, and a woman in her 20s, thought to be an innocent bystander, was killed when a bomb tore up a house in Uppsala in the early hours of Thursday.
“This is a difficult time for Sweden. A 25-year-old woman went to bed last night on a completely ordinary evening but never got to wake up,” Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said during a rare televised address to the nation.
“We will hunt the gangs, we will defeat the gangs,” he said.
Kristersson formed a centre-right minority government after last year’s election with support of the populist and anti-immigrant Sweden Democrats, ending eight years of Social Democrat-led governments in Sweden.
Anderson Cooper is the quintessential elitist propaganda pusher posing as a journalist, which is why he had nothing to say when confronted with the truth recently about a long-standing CIA program.
The video clip below tells you everything you need to know about Cooper and his colleagues in the mainstream corporate media. While they may support or not support various politicians, they can always be counted on to work as “partners” with the unelected powers who make up the administrative state.
So, yes, Operation Mockingbird is a real thing. It was revealed during hearings held by U.S. Senator Frank Church more than 45 years ago.
The Church Committee was a U.S. Senate select committee in 1975 that investigated abuses by the three-letter agencies, the CIA, NSA, FBI and IRS. These agencies, along with a lot of others that didn’t even exist in 1975, have since then only grown in their size, scope and power over our lives.
House Republicans have approved an amendment to slash U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s annual salary to no more than $1. The move comes as Congress remains in a gridlock over the budget, which could lead to a government shutdown.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Wednesday introduced the measure, which was approved in a voice vote as part of the 2024 fiscal year appropriations bill for the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). (pdf)
"I'm proud to let you know my amendment to FIRE Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin just passed on the House floor," Ms. Greene wrote on X following the amendment's passage.
“Under his failed leadership, our military is being destroyed, and he doesn’t deserve to serve any longer. This is the first time in the 118th Congress the Holman rule has been used to hold a Biden official accountable. It’s time for more," she continued.
The Holman Rule is a provision that allows members of Congress to reduce the salary, fire federal employees, or cut specific programs during the appropriations process. The provision was first adopted in 1876. It has been dropped and reinstated at various times since its inception. Earlier this year, the GOP-led House revived the measure for the 118th Congress. The order was not adopted for the 116th and 117th Congresses. (pdf)
"Secretary Austin has not fulfilled his job duties," Ms. Greene said on the House floor. "As a matter of fact, he's destroying our military. During Secretary Austin's tenure, military recruitment has reached crisis levels of low recruitment."
The European Union’s thought and speech police have issued a stern warning to Elon Musk that his social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, must comply with the EU’s Digital Services Act. The law will force social media companies to remove so-called hate speech and disinformation from their platforms.
The plan is to take the EU law global and force companies in America and other nations to shut down voices that the thought and free speech Nazi police deem to be offensive.
The EU is using Russian news as the poster child for the drive to restrict free speech. EU thought police claim that Russian propaganda is confusing the public about the Ukraine Russia war.
Google, Microsoft, Tik Tok, Facebook, and LinkedIn have already signed in to enforce the new EU anti-free speech law. Elon Musk is the only major hold out who has not caved in and promised to deplatform people the EU Nazis don’t like.
As a budget showdown looms in Congress, MAGA Republicans are alone in challenging the vast quantities of American weapons and cash being funneled to Kiev, with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene warning The Grayzone that increasing escalation could turn the proxy war into a “potential nuclear conflict.” When approached for comment, progressive members of the ‘Squad’ dodged our questions.
When the US House of Representatives passed a stopgap funding measure Tuesday evening, the lone Republican no-vote against it was cast by Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.
The rules package brought four appropriations bills to the floor, two of which would provide additional funding for the Ukrainian government.
Green and fellow Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz succeeded in convincing House GOP Speaker Kevin McCarthy to separate Ukraine funding from the Department of Defense Appropriations bill. The Ukraine funding bill passed by a healthy majority, with 117 GOP representatives and zero Democrats voting against the bill.
The group of African men had waited all night in suspense for the gate for the Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Bogota to be announced.
Ten of the thousands who each month embark on the trek were camped out on the floor using their tiny rucksacks as makeshift pillows while the airport’s bright blue departure screens flickered with fresh updates.
‘Where is it going from?’ asked Latif Abubaker, a 26-year-old Ghanaian national, just after 6 a.m. Wednesday. Flight TK800 will not take off for another four hours.
‘D13, I told you.’ his friend and compatriot Morgan Obu, 29, replied, his voice shaking with excitement: ‘We need to get there early.’
The pair, who declined to have their pictures taken, had traveled via Marrakesh, Morocco, from their home in Accra to get to Turkey’s largest city.
Some of the West’s modern heavy weapons are not suitable for the Ukraine conflict because their design has been shaped by decades of fighting involving much weaker opponents, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.
“A lot of Western armor doesn’t work here because it had been created not for an all-out war but for conflicts of low or medium intensity,” a Ukrainian promoter of drone warfare named Taras Chmut told the outlet. “If you throw it into a mass offensive, it just doesn’t perform.”
His opinion was one of several cited by the WSJ, as it argued that the prevalence of cheap drones in Ukraine has affected the fighting so much that NATO-promoted approaches simply cannot work there.
The US and its allies have trained tens of thousands of Ukrainian troops over the years. This summer, they expected the Ukrainians to put their skills and Western weapons to use and breach Russian defensive lines in the south of the front line, according to media reports.
After the breakout of the First World War, the Second International and the numerous socialist organizations affiliated with it across Western Europe threw their weight behind their governments’ new military adventurism and became completely oblivious to the suffering of their fellow man at the hands of their countries’ economic and political elites.
More than a century later, many of their modern-day counterparts have joined the chorus of Western governments, and their respective military-industrial complexes, in their proxy war hymn against Russia. And some of them have gone as far as giving a standing ovation to a literal member of the Waffen-SS, Yaroslav Hunka, when he was presented as a “veteran who fought for Ukrainian independence against Russia during WWII” in the Canadian parliament. It seems that even praising Nazis has become an acceptable part of the Western progressives’ discourse against all things Russian.
Robert F Kennedy Jr, who launched his campaign for the Democrat presidential nomination in April, reportedly has plans to announce a run as an independent candidate.
According to Mediaite, Kennedy plans to make the announcement on October 9 in Philadelphia, with a text message viewed by the outlet stating that his campaign is planning "attack ads" against the Democrat National Committee to "pave the way" for his announcement.
"Bobby feels that the DNC is changing the rules to exclude his candidacy so an independent run is the only way to go," a Kennedy campaign insider told the outlet.
On Saturday, the New York Times published a piece stating that Kennedy met with Libertarian Party chair Angela McArdle in July, at a Memphis conference.
"He emphasized that he was committed to running as a Democrat but said that he considered himself very libertarian," McArdle said, adding that "We’re aligned on a lot of issues," including the threat of the "deep state."
A new technique based on advanced camera technology demonstrates a rapid and efficient way to reconstruct the full quantum state of entangled particles.
Researchers from the University of Ottawa, working together with Danilo Zia and Fabio Sciarrino from the Sapienza University of Rome, have recently demonstrated a novel technique that enables the visualization of the wave function of two entangled photons, the elementary particles that constitute light, in real-time.
Using the analogy of a pair of shoes, the concept of entanglement can be likened to selecting a shoe at random. The moment you identify one shoe, the nature of the other (whether it is the left or right shoe) is instantly discerned, regardless of its location in the universe. However, the intriguing factor is the inherent uncertainty associated with the identification process until the exact moment of observation.
The wave function, a central tenet in quantum mechanics, provides a comprehensive understanding of a particle’s quantum state. For instance, in the shoe example, the “wave function” of the shoe could carry information such as left or right, the size, the color, and so on. More precisely, the wave function enables quantum scientists to predict the probable outcomes of various measurements on a quantum entity, e.g. position, velocity, etc.
The killing last weekend of a Kosovo police officer by a group of 30 or more heavily armed Serbian nationalist militants marks the most significant security incident in that country, and the western Balkans region, in more than a decade. The US ambassador to Pristina, Jeffrey M Hovenier, described the attack subsequently: “We know it was coordinated and sophisticated … The quantity of weapons suggests this was serious, with a plan to destabilise security in the region.”
Kosovo’s authorities concur and are even more explicit in who they blame. Namely, Serbia’s government, and its strongman president, Aleksandar Vučić.
In the hours after the day-long skirmishes between the militants and police, in which three attackers were reported to have been killed, the office of Kosovo’s prime minister, Albin Kurti, posted photographs of the large cache of seized weapons and munitions. “The perpetrators acted not alone,” he wrote, “but [with] state backing. Serbia must be held fully accountable for sponsoring terrorist violence on [Kosovo’s] territory.”
Serbia, of course, denies these accusations, and responded with allegations directed at Kurti and his government for their purported persecution of Kosovo’s Serbs. Yet the Vučić government also promptly declared a day of national mourning, and regime media have glorified the dead attackers as martyrs for the Serb nationalist cause.
The United States called on Belgrade to pull its forces back from the border with Kosovo on Friday, September 29, after detecting what it called an unprecedented Serbian military build-up. Serbia had deployed sophisticated tanks and artillery on the frontier after deadly clashes erupted at a monastery in northern Kosovo last week, the White House warned. The violence in which a Kosovo policeman and three Serb gunmen were killed marked one of the gravest escalations for years in Kosovo, a former Serbian breakaway province.
"We are monitoring a large Serbian military deployment along the border with Kosovo," White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters. "That includes an unprecedented staging of advanced Serbian artillery, tanks, mechanized infantry units. We believe that this is a very destabilizing development." He added: "We are calling on Serbia to withdraw those forces from the border."
The coordinator for strategic communications at the US National Security Council, John Kirby, expressed Washington's concern about, as he said, the "large deployment" of Serbian troops along the border with Kosovo.
"We will monitor the large Serbian deployment along the border with Kosovo. We call on Serbia to withdraw its forces from the border and continue to reduce tensions," Kirby said during a conversation with reporters on September 29.
Kirby was asked if this buildup of military troops near the border is a signal that Serbia is preparing for a military invasion.
"We are looking at it, we are observing it. But the purpose [of the gathering of Serbian military troops], I cannot say now," he said.
However, Kirby said the "enormity" of the massed bodies is destabilizing.
A member of a major Kosovo Serb political party has admitted to leading a group of gunmen that clashed with Kosovo police earlier this week, his lawyer said Friday.
The killing of a Kosovo police officer and the ensuing gun battle at a monastery in a village close to the Serbian border marked one of the gravest escalations in the former breakaway province in years.
Three Serb gunmen were killed in an hours-long firefight with Kosovo police, after they ambushed a patrol near the village of Banjska and later barricaded themselves at an Orthodox monastery.
Milan Radoicic -- the long serving vice president of the Srpska Lista party -- said he led the group of heavily armed gunmen into the area in northern Kosovo in response to alleged repression against Serbs by the Pristina government.
More than half of voters consider it likely that next year’s election could be decided by illegal immigrants voting.
Fifty-one percent (51%) of Likely U.S. voters believe it is likely that the outcome of the 2024 presidential election will be influenced by illegal immigrants voting, including 28% who think it’s Very Likely. Forty-two percent (42%) don’t think the 2024 election will be influenced by the votes of illegal immigrants, including 22% who say it’s Not At All Likely.
Pennsylvania is among several states that have implemented automatic voters registration through its Department of Motor Vehicles, prompting concerns expressed by former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli: “If you want to increase the likelihood of fraud, multiple or duplicate registrations, and participation of ineligible voters – such as non-citizens and illegal aliens, temporary residents, and convicted felons – look no further than the process of dumping government data onto the voter rolls.”
Eighty percent (80%) of voters believe illegal immigrants should not be allowed to vote in U.S. elections, while 13% think they should.
In a progressively perilous global landscape, a prevailing consensus among the majority of Americans is the imperative of a robust military apparatus.
Regrettably, during the Biden administration, the military’s attention has shifted away from prioritizing strategic victories and has been consumed with promoting progressive narratives and initiatives, including those related to the LGBT ideology.
In recent years, conservatives have expressed a strong desire to restore and enhance the military’s capabilities in order to effectively safeguard the nation from potential threats.
Republican Representative Chip Roy of Texas has put forth an amendment to the House spending bill with the intention of discontinuing federal cash allocated towards drag shows and “pride” activities hosted by the Department of Defense.
Roy has been actively opposing the notion of “woke” within the military for an extended period of time. In the month of March, the individual in question, together with a group of nine fellow members of Congress, submitted a formal request to eliminate financial support allocated for activities pertaining to the LGBT community from the Department of Defense Appropriations Act.
Elon Musk's SpaceX has received its first official contract for the Starshield network from the US Space Force. This network will provide satellite communications for the military via the company's Starlink satellite internet system and comes just weeks after Democrats, corporate media, and a former comedian turned Ukraine president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, attempted to cancel Musk after the Washington Post published excerpts from his new biography on the billionaire, alleging he rejected help from Ukraine to assist in the attack against Crimean port of Sevastopol last year.
Space Force spokesperson Ann Stefanek told CNBC that the contract's term for Starshield is one year with a maximum value of $70 million. She explained:
"The SpaceX contract provides for Starshield end-to-end service (via the Starlink constellation), user terminals, ancillary equipment, network management and other related services."
SpaceX's growing portfolio of Pentagon business comes as the space company was recently contracted to launch a Falcon 9 with 13 satellites for the Pentagon's Space Development Agency. In June, the Pentagon bought an undefined number of Starlink terminals for the battlefield in Ukraine.
Outspoken conservative media personality Bill O'Reilly joined Tucker Carlson (the man who replaced him in his primetime Fox News slot) for a wide-ranging discussion of the dismal state of the world, and why progressive politicians are to blame.
"America has entered the age of disorder, and it's because of the progressive movement," O'Reilly lamented.
The former Fox News anchor lays out how this has occurred:
"President Biden, in my opinion, is diminished mentally, doesn’t know what he’s really doing from day-to-day. You can see that in his public statements," O'Reilly remarked, adding that "the progressives like that, because the people who control him inside the White House can tell him anything, and he’ll do it."
O’Reilly said that Ron Klain and Susan Rice were the original string-pullers, but since their departure from The White House, their assistants took their place "basically telling Joe what to do and say."
He argued that Biden has harkened in an “age of disorder” which has resulted in the emergence of Black Lives Matter, higher taxes, lax crime laws, and progressive indoctrination of children at young ages.
“The more money you take from people, the less power they have, and the progressives want to run everything, including telling your children what to think when they’re five years old,” O’Reilly said.
"And most Americans don’t get it, because the press is working with the progressive movement and suppresses all this.”
The political left is obsessed with wordplay and the manipulation of definitions, this much is clear. From their point of view, words are power because words have influence; that is to say, they think if they can control words they can also control perception, control the law and ultimately control the public. This tactic may be somewhat delusional in that it assumes the public has no ability to discern nuance, but they have had some success with it in decades past so they stick with what they know.
In terms of illegal immigration, leftists have long sought to change the American vocabulary. Specifically, they have for years tried to remove the word "illegal" from discourse. You can call them refugees, you can call them undocumented, you can call them asylum seekers, but you can't call them illegal. For a short time (between 2016-2020) using the term "illegal immigrant" was considered cause to demonitize YouTube commentators or get user accounts locked on social media.
The tide has turned back on open borders advocates in the past few years with woke ideology widely exposed as a political cult (according to recent polls the majority of Americans view illegal immigration as an invasion). This has compelled leftists to try a different angle, in which they use narrow legal categories as a means to muddy the waters on immigrants.
This method involves the use of asylum status as a modifier - In other words, if an illegal immigrant declares they require asylum, regardless of evidence that they actually qualify, they are automatically "legal." Therefore, the millions of people that sneak across the US border every year while breaking numerous federal and state laws are absolved through the magical baptism of asylum status.
Secretive migrant towns filled with undocumented persons are springing up in the US. The largest known town is located in Colony Ridge, Texas, and spans 60 square miles. No one knows exactly how many people are living there, but the general estimate is 75,000. Who has the money to buy properties and support these towns? First, the US government is providing aid to all illegals since they need them here. Secondly, the drug cartels who came into our country to escape prosecution on their own.
The media has buried the stories, but numerous murders, rapes, and drug overdoses have occurred as there is no law and order. One Mexican national is on the run after murdering a family of five from Honduras, including an 8-year-old girl. Last June, a local dog brought home a human hand. The body was too decomposed to identify. Last September, a 16-year-old girl from Honduras was found dead in a ditch wearing her waitress uniform. Police listed “gang overtones” as the motive. Two middle schoolers were found dead with bullet wounds this April. The list of crimes goes on and on. Basically, there are cartel gangs from all over South America fighting one another within this outlaw community.
The Russian Defense Ministry has released footage showing a Tor-M2 short-range anti-aircraft system intercepting a US-made Switchblade kamikaze drone deployed by Ukrainian forces.
The ‘M2’ variant is the latest in the Tor family, which has the ability to engage targets on the move rather than after stationary deployment. This makes it efficient in protecting military columns.
The new footage showcases the highly automated weapon system’s features and includes an example of its successful use against a US-made AeroVironment Switchblade.
The loitering munition is first shown on an onboard display, with its characteristic two pairs of wings clearly seen. Then the Tor-M2 launcher is shown firing a missile, with the crew monitoring its progress and the hit from inside.
Nato has announced it is beefing up its presence in Kosovo with UK troops after four people were killed in a weekend shootout and as the US expressed concern about a build-up of Serbian forces along the border of its former territory.
'These people want to turn back time,' Prime Minister Albin Kurti said.
'They are in search of a time machine. They want to turn the clock back by 30 years. But that is not going to happen.'
Earlier on Friday, Kosovo police raided several locations in a Serb-dominated area of the country's north, where the weekend violence centred on a monastery left one Kosovo police officer and three Serb insurgents dead, raising tensions to boiling point.
