COMING UP SHORT THIS MONTH.
Thought for the day
"Those who recognize the stupidity and fickleness of the masses will not be remotely surprised by anything they do." -- Nicolas Poussin
"The church must be reminded that it is not the master or the servant of the state, but rather the conscience of the state. It must be the guide and the critic of the state, and never its tool. If the church does not recapture its prophetic zeal, it will become an irrelevant social club without moral or spiritual authority." -- Martin Luther King Jr. (A Knock at Midnight, June 11, 1967)
Fox Business reports that “this comes after a recent ocean surge connected to Tropical Storm Kay led to high tides and waves that shifted the coastal tracks, which serve as the only viable link from San Diego to Los Angeles and the rest of the country.”
“Safety concerns to the right-of-way in San Clemente have made it necessary to suspend train service through the area,” Amtrak said in a travel advisory. “Pacific Surfliner trains will not operate between Irvine and San Diego until further notice. We are working with our partners to set up train service between Oceanside and San Diego, as well as bus connections to/from Irvine and Oceanside. We will share updates as soon as details are available.”
New research published in the journal Science Translational Medicine reveals that Big Pharma is now using insects to deliver “vaccines” to humans without their knowledge or consent.
For their trial, researchers artificially furnished 200 mosquitoes with live, malaria-causing plasmodium parasites that had been genetically modified (GMO) to inject a malaria vaccine into the arms of human test subjects.
The stated goal of the project is to deliver vaccines via bugs as opposed to traditional syringes, in this case with GMO mosquitoes that will be released into the wild to randomly inject as many people as possible with the poisons. (Related: Starting in 2020, a two-year, Bill Gates-backed project began releasing more than 750 million GMO mosquitoes throughout the Florida Keys.)
Weddings booked by Britons at a stunning Victorian country mansion have been cancelled after the Home Office announced it needed the hotel for migrants.
At least three weddings have reportedly been cancelled at the Grade II-listed Stoke Rochford Hall in Lincolnshire:
The UN special envoy for Yemen said Sunday that the ceasefire between the Houthis and the US-backed Saudi-led coalition expired on Sunday without the two sides agreeing on an extension.
The truce was extended twice before, and while there was some fighting on the ground, no Saudi airstrikes in Yemen were reported, marking the longest period of calm in the war since the US-backed coalition intervened in 2015.
The UN envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, said he submitted a proposal to extend the ceasefire to the warring sides on Saturday, but a deal wasn’t reached. “The UN Special Envoy regrets that an agreement has not been reached today, as an extended and expanded truce would provide additional critical benefits to the population,” the UN said in a press release.
An emerging deal brokered by the U.S. to resolve a maritime border dispute between Israel and its neighboring state Lebanon has been panned as “dangerous” by critics, including former Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while current Israeli leader Yair Lapid has hailed the deal, as has Hezbollah terror chief Hassan Nasrallah.
Following an announcement on Saturday by Lebanese President Michel Aoun regarding U.S. proposals for the demarcation of a maritime border with Israel, Nasrallah said that Lebanon would be the ultimate decision-maker in the agreement.
A day later Lapid lauded the proposal for “safeguarding Israel’s security-diplomatic interests, as well as its economic interests.”
“Money will flow into the state’s coffers and our energy independence will be secured. This deal strengthens Israel’s security and Israel’s economy,” Lapid said.
A group of men from Mexico who tried to trek through rough Texas mountains with bundles of drugs are facing lengthy prison sentences after receiving a conviction on federal drug trafficking charges.
A federal court jury in Pecos, Texas, convicted 26-year-old Jose Manuel Ayala for drug smuggling. He is the last of a group of seven defendants caught by federal authorities trying to carry ten bundles of marijuana from Mexico into Texas, information from the U.S. Attorney’s Office revealed. The official charges are one count of importation of marijuana and one count of possession with intent to distribute. Court documents do not identify the drug cartel that the men were working for. However, the area is commonly used by the Sinaloa Cartel or the Juarez Cartel.
Ayala was the only member of a smuggling group that tried to fight the charges in court. He but ultimately lost. The group consisted of nine males and included two underage teens who were not federally charged. The other six defendants previously pleaded guilty to the charges and are expected to be sentenced in November. A date for Ayala’s sentencing hearing has not been set. He faces a prison sentence of up to 40 years for each of the two charges.
Russia attacked the Ukrainian president’s hometown with suicide drones on Sunday, and Ukraine pushed ahead with its counteroffensive after taking back control of a strategic eastern city.
Russia’s loss of Lyman, which it had been using as a transport and logistics hub, is a new blow to the Kremlin as it seeks to escalate the war by illegally annexing four regions of Ukraine.
“The Ukrainian flag is already in Lyman,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his nightly address. “Over the past week, there have been more Ukrainian flags in the Donbas. In a week there will be even more.”
In southern Ukraine, Zelensky’s hometown Krivyi Rih came under Russian attack by a suicide drone that struck a school early Sunday and destroyed two stories of it, said Valentyn Reznichenko, the governor of Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region.
A fire sparked by the drone attack has been put out, he said.
MEP Nathalie Loiseau of France is lobbying for individual sanctions on all observers of the Russian-organized referendums in the Donbass region. She has singled out journalist Vanessa Beeley not only for her coverage of the vote, but for her reporting on the foreign-back war against Syria’s government.
A French Member of European Parliament (MEP), Natalie Loiseau, has delivered a letter to EU High Representative of Foreign Affairs, Joseph Borrell, demanding the European Union place personal sanctions on all international observers of the recent votes in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and certain Russian-controlled territories in eastern Ukraine.
Obtained by The Grayzone from an EU source, the letter is currently being circulated among European parliamentarians in hopes of securing a docket of supportive signatures.
Leftist American President Joe Biden, skipping the funeral of longtime Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo, signaled to Japan that “he’s more worried about the midterms than the threat of China and Russia,” Japanese conservative journalist and commentator Yoko Ishii told Breitbart News in an exchange on Friday.
Abe, one of the most influential conservative politicians in modern Japanese history and Japan’s longest-serving prime minister, was killed in a shocking public assassination during a campaign stop in July to support candidates belonging to his Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). He had stepped down from the prime ministership due to health issues in 2020, leaving a formidable leadership void that the LDP is still struggling to fill under current Prime Minister Kishida Fumio.
Much of Abe’s tenure at the helm of the government was spent building bridges with the government of America and bringing Japan closer into Washington’s sphere of influence — much to the chagrin of the Chinese communist regime, which allowed citizens to openly celebrate his murder. Abe spent his last days prominently urging the world to defend the nation of Taiwan in the face of increasingly violent threats from communist China, which falsely claims Taiwan as a “province” under the Communist Party. Abe equated China’s threats toward Taiwan to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine and proclaimed in one of his final columns, “the time has come for the U.S. to make clear that it will defend Taiwan against any attempted Chinese invasion.”
During a discussion with actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas at a DNC Women’s Leadership Forum, Vice President Kamala Harris emphatically told the audience that “assault weapons” were “designed to kill a lot of human beings quickly.”
Video of the discussion was published by Now This News.
About eleven and a half minutes into the discussion, Harris reiterated that she and President Joe Biden want to reinstitute an “assault weapons” ban. She then began talking about the importance of “design purpose.”
She said, “Just to break it down … why are we looking at a particular ‘assault weapons’ ban and carving that out? Let’s just always think about almost everything that can be used has a design purpose.”
Harris continued, “What is the design purpose of an ‘assault weapon’?”
She answered her own question by saying the “design purpose” is “to kill — a lot — of human beings — quickly.”

Israeli forces have shot dead two Palestinian men during a raid near the town of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank.
The two men were killed while in a car just outside the Jalazone refugee camp north of Ramallah.
The Palestinian official news agency, Wafa, identified them as 18-year-old Bassel Qassem Basbous and 21-year-old Khaled Fadi Anbar.
A third, Raafat Habash, 19, was also with them in the car and was was wounded in the shooting.
The bodies of the two men were taken by the Israeli army after they were killed, while Habash was arrested.
After several months of Russian “special operations” in Ukraine, it might be worth asking whether the U.S.-Russia proxy war is headed toward regime-change in Moscow, or at least efforts at regime change. For Washington, after Serbia, Iraq, Libya, Ukraine, and all the others, Russia must surely represent the ultimate, perhaps final, such operation. In fact, since the very first days of the Bolshevik Revolution precisely one century ago, American ruling elites have savored the idea of turning the great Russian expanse into a vassal state allowing exploitation of its unparalleled natural resources.
Joe Biden, or those running his White House, is no doubt poised to take matters to more dangerous levels, seemingly indifferent to any prospects of nuclear catastrophe. After sending tens of billions of dollars worth of high-tech weapons to the Kiev regime, Biden, during his visit to Poland, would say: “For God’s sake, this man [Vladimir Putin] cannot remain in power.”
There can be little ambiguity: for years the U.S. goal has been to weaken, isolate, and eventually destroy the Putin government. What Stalin and his successors desperately feared for decades – Western capitalist encirclement and strangulation – seems finally (and menacingly) to have arrived.
Every psychopath is well practiced at lying; anyone who tolerates that person’s lying is not only encouraging psychopathy but is, oneself, psychopathically unconcerned about the public’s welfare, because any such encouragement will, itself, facilitate the further spreading of lies and deception of the public.
This is how psychopathy, which is a merely personal disease, becomes spread and pandemic, thereby producing a dysfunctional society, widespread deception. It happens not only due to the presence of psychopaths, but also due to their passive assisters, who fail to call-out the lie and the liar and to expose them publicly so as to assist in penalizing them, instead of to assist the lies and liars, for those to spread and thrive.
Being a member of a society is to have both rights and obligations within it. Silence in the face of lies that one knows are false is a failure of such an obligation: an obligation to avoid willingly spreading a social disease — the disease of spreading those lies and that falsehood, to a rampantly and ever-increasingly contaminated public.
If Europe is laboring under the mistaken belief that they can trust Joe Biden and his clown car of advisors to act in their best interest, think again. The sabotage of the Nordstream natural gas pipeline will directly benefit the United States, more so than any other country, and leave Europe literally in the cold.
Secretary of State Blinken tried to put lipstick on this pig:
With winter approaching, Blinken said that the US wants the bloc to use less fuel.
Washington has for years been trying to convince EU leaders to swap Russian gas for its LNG. . . .
Speaking to reporters in Washington, Blinken boasted that the US is now “the leading supplier of [liquefied natural gas] to Europe.” In addition to shipping its own fuel to Europe, Blinken said that the US is working with European leaders to find ways to “decrease demand” and “speed up the transition to renewables.”
A newly released documentary that has been praised as “brilliant” and “outstanding,” chronicles the shocking story of how COVID shots were pushed in the United Kingdom using government propaganda and misleading data from Big Pharma.
While the film, aptly titled, “Safe and Effective: A Second Opinion,” is primarily focused on the U.K., one of its most powerful sub-narratives is relevant worldwide: How pharmaceutical manufacturers sidestepped safety hurdles and misled the public regarding the effectiveness and potential harms of the COVID jabs.
German media reported on 29 September that Berlin has approved a number of new weapons export deals with Saudi Arabia, in defiance of a 2018 ban over Riyadh’s brutal war in Yemen. In a letter to the Bundestag, the country’s Economy Minister, Robert Habeck, said that the deals were approved by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz just before his recent visit to Saudi Arabia.
The German export licenses fall under a joint export program with Spain, Italy, and the UK, Habeck’s letter specifies, and will allow Riyadh to buy equipment and ammunition for Eurofighter and Tornado warplanes amounting to around $35 million.
Since Fed Chair Powell unleashed his short-and-sweet uber-hawkish comments in late August at Jackson Hole, market expectations for The Fed's terminal rate (cycle high before pause or cuts resume) has surged hawkishly (adding 100bps of hikes).
However, as the chart below shows, the last week - as UK chaos erupted and spread to US equity and bond markets - there has been s dovish shift in market expectations for just how hawkish The Fed will be able to get before everything goes pear-shaped...
One week ago, when the BOJ stunned the world in becoming the first central bank to step in and prevent currency collapse (just days before the BOE become the second one) through a massive open-market intervention - the first of its kind in 24 years - we asked "How many tens of billions $ did the BOJ just sell"
On Friday we learned the answer: according to Reuters, Japan's government spent up to 2.8 trillion yen ($19.7 billion) intervening in the foreign exchange market last week to prop up the yen, Ministry of Finance data showed on Friday, draining nearly 15% of funds it has readily available for intervention.
The figure was just slightly less than the 3.6 trillion yen estimated by a small number of Tokyo money market brokers for Japan's first dollar-selling, yen-buying intervention in 24 years to halt the currency's historic collapse (which we predicted would happen back in March in "Yen At Risk Of "Explosive" Downward Spiral With Kuroda Trapped... And Why China May Soon Devalue").
By this point, it should be getting fairly clear that Covid-19 more likely than not came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. For those yet to be red pilled, here’s one Harvard PhD’s take on the evidence.
“This evidence is not dispositive, but were the lab leak hypothesis incorrect, it would represent a staggering set of coincidences,” Justin B. Kinney, an Associate Professor at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and Princeton PhD wrote about the evidence.
And we all know Peter Daszak at this point. He is the head of the taxpayer funded EcoHealth Alliance, which “funnelled hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Wuhan Institute of Virology”. Daszak has worked closely with “bat woman” Shi Zhengli in modifying and researching coronaviruses.
Then, after the Covid pandemic reached its “oh shit”-style escape velocity, forcing the relatively worthless World Health Organization to declare it a pandemic, he took to the pages of The Guardian to remind us that anybody questioning the origins of the virus just because there happened to be a Virology Lab miles away working on bat coronaviruses - that he was tied to - was a conspiracy theorist.
On March 16, 2020, following a long weekend of negotiations and deals about the coronavirus, Donald Trump, Deborah Birx, and Anthony Fauci spoke at a White House press conference for the first time about nationwide lockdowns.
They handed out a sheet of paper – it mostly consisted of conventional health advice – that said in tiny print: “bars, restaurants, food courts, gyms, and other indoor and outdoor venues where groups of people congregate should be closed.”
Shut it all down. Everything. Everyone. As if the whole economy were a nightclub closing early.
This amounted to a full repudiation of not only the Constitution but also freedom itself. At the very least, it was a fundamental attack on the First Amendment guarantees of the freedom of religion because it attacked the rights of Christians, Jews, Muslims, and everyone.
All evidence suggests that Trump did not know that the tiny text was in there.
The reading of the text was left to the question and answer session.
Even when it was read by Fauci from the podium, Trump seemed distracted by something else, almost as if he did not hear or did not want to hear it. Later he bragged that the whole thing was his doing, but looking back at the history of that day, it is not so clear.
Let’s take this apart frame by frame to understand what happened in these 70 seconds as part of the Q&A session. A reporter starts by asking whether the federal government is telling people to “avoid restaurants and bars” or if the government is saying that “bars and restaurants should shut down over the next 15 days.”
Both Fauci and Birx knew for sure that the guidelines were calling for them to shut down.
A New York hospital pulled a 30-second ad about myocarditis in children after Children’s Health Defense (CHD) and numerous doctors accused the hospital of normalizing and trivializing the condition.
New York-Presbyterian Hospital in early September published the 30-second ad, which promoted the medical center’s pediatric services for treating the condition.
The hospital pulled the ad amid public outcry following three CHD.TV episodes featuring discussions about how the ad appeared to normalize and trivialize myocarditis in children. CHD.TV is produced by Children’s Health Defense.
The ad, “Pediatric Patient Story,” featured a young girl named Suri and transitioned between live-action footage and animation.
“I’ve been into fashion since I can remember,” Suri said in the ad. “But one day, I had a stomachache so bad I didn’t want to do anything.”
Now that the Nord Stream pipeline might have been sabotaged by Washington, as promised by US President Joe Biden on January 7, and is possibly gone forever (according to German authorities), it is time to consider the possible impacts.
The energy crisis in the EU has always been pushed by American interests. Moreover, the US has been engaging in economic warfare and even weaponizing the dollar for too long, but it has been clear for months now that its current economic and financial war against Russia has backfired – and once again, mostly upon Europe. Such economic wars in fact may dangerously spiral out of control, and are considered to be one of the causes of the 1929 crisis in the post-Versailles world.
Philip Pilkington, an Irish economist who works in investment finance, famous for his contributions on the empirical estimate of general equilibrium and other fields, has made quite interesting observations about the possible deindustrialization of Europe as a consequence of economic warfare. He remarks on how in the post-pandemic world debts in the West have been accumulating and, on top of that, the current conflict in Ukraine has brought extra energy costs.
After the conflict ends – or becomes a “frozen conflict” – or after good diplomacy is reestablished, Russia could start to once again supply gas to Europe as usual – this is how many analysts reasoned. However, now that the pipelines are gone, the price of energy in the continent is to remain tremendously high for years to come. With permanent high energy prices making manufacturing not economically viable anymore (thus decreasing European purchasing power), one should expect to see the bloc shutting out exports to revive an uncompetitive industry while increasing energy investments. These are Pilkington’s main points and it might be worth delving into them.
The Belgorod has disappeared from its home base in the Arctic Circle and may be on its way to the Kara Sea to test the Poseidon nuke, a NATO warning note leaked to Italian media over the weekend has suggested.
Poseidon is a drone that is said to be capable of travelling huge distances underwater before detonating with enough force to trigger a 1,600ft nuclear tsunami designed to drown and irradiate coastal cities.
It has lain within a burial chamber, undisturbed, for thousands of years. Now a remarkable Egyptian sarcophagus has emerged from deep beneath the sands near Cairo, to the excitement of archaeologists, who describe it as a hugely significant “dream discovery”.
The giant granite sarcophagus is covered in inscriptions dedicated to Ptah-em-wia, who headed the treasury of King Ramses II, Egypt’s mightiest pharaoh.
Ola El Aguizy, emeritus professor of the faculty of archaeology at Cairo University, discovered it in Saqqara, an ancient necropolis about 20 miles south of Cairo. Last year, El Aguizy, who heads the archaeological mission at the site, uncovered Ptah-em-wia’s surface-level tomb. Now she has found his underground burial chamber with the sarcophagus, which could reveal more about those who ruled Egypt after Tutankhamun.
Bros writer and actor Billy Eichner took to Twitter on Sunday to reflect on the disappointing performance of his gay romcom at the box office following its opening weekend.
The 44-year-old actor-comedian issued a series of tweets about the film, which is the first LGBTQ romantic comedy given a large release by a major studio.
Despite a $22million production budget and rave reviews, the film took in just $4.8million and landed fourth place at the US box office.
