Thought for the day

"Everything went strictly ‘by the book,’ using means that were permitted by the constitution. At first there were ‘emergency decrees’ by the president of the Reich, and later a bill was passed by a two-thirds majority of the Reichstag giving the government unlimited legislative powers, perfectly in accordance with the rules for changing the constitution." -- Sebastian Haffner, Defying Hitler (paperback, Kindle, audiobook)

Last week the world stood on the very edge of a nuclear war, as Ukraine’s US-funded president, Vladimir Zelensky, urged NATO military action over a missile that landed on Polish soil. “This is a Russian missile attack on collective security! This is a really significant escalation. Action is needed,” said Zelensky immediately after the missile landed.

But there was a problem. The missile was fired from Ukraine – likely an accident in the fog of war. Was it actually a Russian missile, of course, that might mean World War III. But Zelensky didn’t seem to be bothered by the prospect of the world blown up, judging from his reckless rhetoric.

While Zelensky has been treated as a saint by the US media, the Biden Administration, and both parties in Congress, something unprecedented happened this time: the Biden Administration pushed back. According to press reports, several Zelensky calls to Biden or senior Biden Staff went unanswered.

Almost every minute of every day I see overwhelming evidence of America’s collapse as a free country. Elon Musk conducted a poll on whether Twitter should allow President Trump to use the social media platform. Fifteen million people responded. 51.8% of the respondents said “yes,” but almost an equal number 48.2% said “no.” In other words, almost half of the 15 million social media users who responded to the poll oppose free speech for a former president of the United States.

No doubt, being as indoctrinated as they are, they see Trump as a “pussy-grabber,” a Russian agent, and an insurrectionist and regard cancelling his First Amendment right as punishment. Many of the same crowd want pedophiles to be relabeled “minor-attracted persons,” a step toward removing limitations on sexual relations between adults and children. They are content with the free speech right of pedophiles to advocate, but not for President Trump to express political views on Twitter.

In the case of Julian Assange, Wikileaks’ founder who published the leaked information documenting US war crimes and lies to allies, my headline doesn’t go far enough. A large majority of Americans, both Democrats and Republicans in practically equal percentages, desire Assange to be prosecuted for doing what journalists are supposed to do. President Trump and his Secretary of State Pompeo denounced Assange with the same intensity as Nancy Pelosi.

Energy trade between Russia and China has been steadily growing and is up 64% in monetary terms so far this year, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Novak told the Rossiya 24 TV channel on Friday.

His comments followed a meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Chinese commission on energy cooperation.

“China is our strategic partner in the Asia-Pacific region and generally in trade,” he said, noting that in physical terms the increase was about 10% in supplies of oil, gas, coal, and electricity.

The deputy PM explained that the two countries aim to further develop trade relations, and in particular are working on expanding the share of national currencies in energy transactions.

Russian missile strikes have crippled almost half of Ukraine's energy system, the government said on Friday, and authorities in the capital Kyiv warned that the city could face a "complete shutdown" of the power grid as winter sets in.

With temperatures falling and Kyiv seeing its first snow, officials were working to restore power nationwide after some of the heaviest bombardment of Ukrainian civilian infrastructure in nine months of war.

The United Nations says Ukraine's electricity and water shortages threaten a humanitarian disaster this winter.

"Unfortunately Russia continues to carry out missile strikes on Ukraine's civilian and critical infrastructure. Almost half of our energy system is disabled," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.

Permanent Witch Hunt: Merrick Garland And Biden DOJ Are Going FULL FORCE On Trump

Democrats have been waging lawfare against former President Donald Trump even before Joe Biden assumed the presidency.

When Biden became President and thus gained control of the Justice Department, the campaign to find crimes with which to indict the former President when full force. The Daily Caller reports that the campaign has entered a new phase, using a tried and true strategy for bringing a President, or in this case, a former President, down.

According to the RedState, watching Joe Biden and his ongoing battles with reading scripts provided to him aloud is much the same as not looking away from a crash site. We don’t want to look but can’t help ourselves and have to look.

This situation occurred on Friday when President Biden spoke to business and labor leaders about his disastrous economy. Biden said, “This week, we saw the growth in prices and business pay for goods and services come down, as well. Gas prices are down, but it’s gonna take time to get inflation back to normal levels if we keep our job market strong so we can see setbacks along the way; I don’t doubt that, but thus far, we’re in good shape. But, we’re laser-focused on that.”

The RedState notes several Republican National Committee examples of Biden’s disconnect when speaking.

“Krieg der Drohnen”: USA wollen 100 unbemannte Schiffe im Persischen Golf stationieren

The chief of US Armed Forces Central Command called the development of “enemy drones” the greatest technological threat to regional security. That is why US drones with “artificial intelligence” are said to be patrolling the area.

A US task force will deploy more than 100 unmanned vessels by 2023 to ensure maritime security in the Gulf’s strategic waters. This was announced by the head of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), Michael Erik Kurilla, in Bahrain on November 19, according to the Mehr news agency reported“By this time next year, Task Force 59 will comprise a fleet of more than 100 surface and underwater unmanned vessels that will operate together, communicate with one another and enhance maritime intelligence.”Kurilla announced during the annual dialogue conference in Manama.

The announcement came after Israel and the United States blamed Iran for a drone strike off the coast of Oman this week that hit an Israeli-owned tanker. “This attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle on a civilian ship in this critical strait shows once again how destabilizing Iran’s malign activities in the region are,” said General Michael Erik Kurilla to the Wall Street Journal. The comments came during a visit to Tel Aviv, where he announced the US and Israel were “at an accelerated pace developing joint military capabilities” against Iran and other threats in West Asia.

Democrats won far too many races in this year’s midterms — far more than they were supposed to win, or historically would have won, thanks to mass mail-in voting — because too many Americans literally voted against their own interests for some reason.

Republicans were on pace to win historic numbers of House and Senate races after two years of anti-fossil fuel policies emanating from the White House and the congressional Democratic majority, policies that led to high gasoline and diesel prices and now, anticipated shortages just as winter descends on the country.

In fact, experts are warning that shortages of diesel fuel and heating oils could be so significant that a quarter of all Americans are facing looming blackouts as temperatures drop.

A new report from the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), a regulatory body that manages grid stability, says that “grids from the Great Lakes to Louisiana, New England, Carolinas, and all of Texas are the most at risk for power supply shortfalls during high-demand periods,” Zero Hedge reported Friday.

The Brazilian Tutelary Council has begun removing the children of Brazilian election protesters from their parents’ custody. This comes after the National Council of Justice in Brazil issued an order to verify the condition of children involved in protests that have dominated the country following the election of far-left politician Lula da Silva.

The order outlines a plan to identify protest points and inspect them for children. The Public Ministry, Guardianship Council, and auxiliary bodies have been assigned to “protect the children,” removing them from the protests and their parents’ custody when they deem necessary.

President Biden said there was no evidence of election fraud — or “fowl play” — as he took part in the annual Thanksgiving turkey pardon ceremony at the White House.

“The votes are in. They’ve been counted and verified. There’s no ballot stuffing,” Biden cracked — in an apparent dig at former President Trump’s false claims of fraud in the 2020 presidential election — as he prepared to pardon the turkeys in the gobble-filled tradition on the South Lawn on Monday.

Arizona Assistant Attorney General Jennifer Wright — with the Elections Integrity Unit — wrote a letter to the Maricopa County officials Saturday demanding an accounting for the widespread ballot tabulation and ballot printer problems seen during the general election on Nov. 8.

Among the most troubling issues raised in the letter directed to Thomas Liddy with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office was the apparent co-mingling of ballots in black duffle bags in at least one polling location, which were successfully run through the on-site tabulators with those put in “Door 3” to be sent to the Election Department’s downtown Phoenix tabulation center because they could not be read.

“The Elections Integrity Unit (“Unit”) of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office (“AGO”) has received hundreds of complaints since Election Day pertaining to issues related to the administration of the 2022 General Election in Maricopa County,” Wright opened her letter.

Republican Congresswoman-elect Victoria Spartz, of Indiana, warned that the American left is now “building socialism” like she saw in the Soviet Union.

Spartz wanted to sound the alarm about what will happen if far-left, socialist policies were pursued in America.

Future Congresswoman Spartz appeared on Fox and Friends and shared her experiences growing up in communist Ukraine, which at the time was part of the Soviet Union.

“I grew up in a socialistic country, the Socialist Republic of Ukraine. I saw what happens when it runs out of money and it is not pretty,” she said.

Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett recently poked a little fun at pro-abortion protesters who have been picketing outside her home.

The moment took place as she spoke during a Federalist Society dinner in Washington, D.C. earlier this month.

Former President Donald Trump’s final nomination to the court was greeted by the group – which has no partisan affiliation but is closely aligned with Republican priorities – with a rousing ovation.

“Thank you, it’s really nice to have a lot of noise made that’s not by protesters outside my house,” she told the audience.

Since Democrats have coined the ‘election denier’ catchphrase, applying it exclusively to Republicans who cast doubts on election integrity in 2020 and 2022, we’d like to refresh their memory on those in their own party who have denied election results over the years.

They’d like you to forget most of these instances, but fortunately, today’s information technology makes it easy to point out what absolute hypocrites these people are.

Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of The View, erstwhile actress, stand up comic and present-day radical leftist threatened to leave Twitter upon the social media giant’s acquisition by pro-free-speech entrepreneur billionaire Elon Musk. And it appears she’s done it.

Unlike her previous statements that she would consider leaving the United States if Donald Trump won the Presidency, (hint: she didn’t leave) Goldberg seems to have made good on this one. According to Breitbart, Goldberg deleted her Twitter account after saying “the place is a mess.”

We have pretty much burned our bridges at this point. Unless you’re prepared to mindfuck yourself, and gaslight yourself, and confess, and convert, there’s no going back to “normal” society (which we couldn’t go back to anyway, on account of how it doesn’t exist anymore) — CJ Hopkins

Thirty-seven billion more dollars for Ukraine? (That’s thirty-seven thousand millions of dollars, by the way.) Bringing the total this year to a click-or-two over ninety billion (ninety-thousand millions), on top of whatever Sam Bankman-Fried’s FTX company funneled through that sad-sack international money laundromat — soon to be the darkest backwater of a European failed state since Field Marshal Melchior von Hatzfeldt of Westphalia left Bohemia a corpse-strewn wasteland after the Battle of Jankau (1645).

It really doesn’t matter how much more money we pound down that rat-hole, you understand, because by the time various parties — the weapons-makers, Volodymyr Zelensky, sundry members of the US House of Representatives, the Biden family, the World Economic Forum — are finished creaming off their fair shares, poor Ukraine won’t have enough cash-on-hand to replace six fuse-boxes in Zaporizhzhia.

One of two men accused of plotting to attack New York City synagogues is Jewish and the grandson of a Holocaust survivor, his attorney claimed in court Saturday.

Matthew Mahrer, 22, was ordered held on $150,000 bail at his arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court on charges of criminal possession of a weapon though his lawyer asked that he be released on his own recognizance.

“There are a lot of questions here,” defense attorney Brandon Freycint said of Mahrer, who has allegedly been diagnosed with autism, bipolar disorder, anxiety and ADHD.

“My client is of Jewish heritage. He resides with his parents and his grandfather is actually a 93-year-old Holocaust survivor — and my client is his part-time caretaker,” Freycinet said.

The Arizona Assistant Attorney General Jennifer Wright has said she will not certify the election between Republican Kari Lake and Democrat Katie Hobbs until she gets answers to the questions she said surround the voting in Maricopa County.

“These complaints go beyond pure speculation, but include first-hand witness accounts that raise concerns regarding Maricopa’s lawful compliance with Arizona election law,” the assistant attorney general said in a letter to a top elections official, The Daily Mail reported.

“Arizonans deserve a full report and accounting of the myriad problems that occurred in relation to Maricopa County’s administration of the 2022 General Election,” she said in the letter to Thomas Liddy, civil division chief at the Maricopa County’s Attorney’s Office.

“As the canvass is looming, and these issues relate to Maricopa County’s ability to lawfully certify election results – the Unit requests a response to the aforementioned issues on or before Maricopa County submits its official canvass to the Secretary of State, which must occur on or before November 28, 2022,” she said.

During a hearing brought by three doctors over the Food and Drug Administration’s interference in their professional discretion to prescribe the drug Ivermectin as treatment for Covid-19, a government lawyer claimed that the FDA’s position was merely a “recommendation.”

“The cited statements were not directives. They were not mandatory. They were recommendations,” the government’s attorney Isaac Belfer argued. “They said what parties should do. They said, for example, why you should not take ivermectin to treat COVID-19. They did not say you may not do it, you must not do it. They did not say it’s prohibited or it’s unlawful. They also did not say that doctors may not prescribe ivermectin.”

“They use informal language, that is true,” attorney Isaac Belfer told a Texas federal court in November, adding that, “it’s conversational but not mandatory.”

The FDA had directed physicians to “stop” prescribing the drug Ivermectin for Covid. On its webpage, “Why You Should Not Use Ivermectin to Treat or Prevent COVID-19,” it stated: “You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it.”

The FDA said in a second post: “Hold your horses, y’all. Ivermectin may be trending, but it still isn’t authorized or approved to treat COVID-19.”
