Thought for the day

"Organized Christianity has probably done more to retard the ideals that were its founder's than any other agency in the world." -- Richard Le Gallienne

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones immediately took to the airwaves after the verdict in his defamation trial on Friday - which will see him be forced to pay nearly $50million in damages to the family of slain six-year-old Jesse Lewis.

Lewis was among the 20 children who were shot dead by crazed gunman Adam Lanza at Sandy Hook elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, in December 2012. Another six people were killed in the massacre.

For years Jones claimed on his InfoWars platform that the shooting in Newton was a 'false flag' operation perpetrated by the US government to further gun control.

In his Friday broadcast, Jones claimed the trial against him was 'coordinated and run' by billionaire philanthropist George Soros and 'operatives.' He did not identify the other 'operatives' by name.

The host also accused Judge Maya Guerra Gamble of being a 'blue-haired SJW' and insinuated that she was corrupt by saying that she 'altered the record of the trial.' 'SJW' stands for Social Justice Warrior.

Rising healthcare costs caused by soaring inflation are forcing Americans to cut back on other areas of their lives - with 98 million people estimated to be either delaying or skipping treatment, reducing driving, cutting back on utilities and food, or borrowing money to pay medical bills.

A new Gallup survey of 3,000 people, commissioned by West Health - a group of non-profits which lobby to bring down healthcare costs - found that the high inflation was causing widespread belt-tightening.

The impact of 9.1 percent inflation - a 40-year high - was felt most acutely by those earning the least. But high earners were also reporting reassessing their budgets.

The Labor Department's consumer price index skyrocketed 9.1 percent in June from a year earlier, a pace not seen since 1981.

The price of gasoline has jumped 61 percent over the past year, airfares 34 percent, eggs 33 percent.

Inflation has been rising so fast that despite the pay raises many workers have received, most consumers are falling behind the rising cost-of-living.

Tonga's volcanic eruption in January blasted enough water to fill more than 58,000 Olympic-size swimming pools - and could weaken the ozone layer.

Scientists who examined the amount of water vapour ejected by the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai volcano described it as 'unprecedented'.

The powerful steam was formed when seawater in the South Pacific came into contact with the lava and was 'superheated'.

The eruption created sound waves heard as far as Alaska 6,200 miles away, in a sonic boom that circled the globe twice.

In a new study, experts from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory predict the volume of water could be enough to temporarily affect the global average temperature.

Sidney Wolf, a former senior policy adviser for Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY), was struck and killed by a car Sunday after a Lyft driver forced him to exit the vehicle, according to police.

The 43-year-old father of two was riding with a group of five friends on Coastal Highway in Delaware in the early hours of Sunday morning, Fox 5 reported. Wolf and his friends were told to get out of the Lyft vehicle in the middle of the highway before he was fatally struck by another car.

“This is an extremely difficult time for our family,” the Wolf family wrote in a statement to Fox 5. “The level of shock and pain we feel right now cannot be measured as we continue to grieve. We truly appreciate the outpouring of love and support we’ve received and kindly request that the family’s privacy is respected as we move through this process.”

According to police, a disagreement arose between the Lyft driver and the passengers. The driver then stopped in the left lane and forced the passengers to exit the vehicle, according to a police report. Wolf was hit when a Toyota Corolla switched lanes to avoid hitting the Lyft vehicle but did not see Wolf standing in the road. Wolf died on the scene, and the other passengers were unharmed.

The Establishment’s determination to close down narrative-challenger Alex Jones has put Sandy Hook back in the news.  As First Amendment protection is fading, I checked to see what I had written about Sandy Hook.  I was relieved to see that I had only reported on the skepticism and asked questions.

My search of the IPE archives brought up my articles on other controversial shootings–Las Vegas and Orlando–and the Oklahoma City Bombing.  The common thread in all of these incidents is that the narrative is established the minute the news is reported, and officials and media never vary from the narrative.  As soon as it happens, the government and the media already know what happened.  No investigation ever takes place.  It was the same for President Kennedy’s assassination, his brother’s assassination, 9/11, the Gulf of Tonkin, Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction, Assad’s use of chemical weapons, the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty, etc.

Legitimate questions about the narratives are ignored by officials and media who seem to be involved in a conspiracy to bury the truth.  Skeptics, no matter how prominent or fact-based are demonized as “conspiracy theorists” unworthy of attention.

Clearly, America no longer has a media watchdog.  America has a propaganda ministry for official narratives.

Louisville officers Kyle Meany and Joshua Jaynes deliberately used incorrect intelligence to get the search warrant that allowed them into Taylor’s apartment despite lacking “probable cause” for the search, according to their charges published on Wednesday. The two have been charged with one count of deprivation of rights under color of law, one count of conspiracy, one count of falsification of records in a federal investigation, and one count of making a false statement to federal investigators.

“The Justice Department has charged four current and former Louisville Metro Police Department officers with federal crimes related to Breonna Taylor’s death,” said Attorney General Merrick Garland. “Among other things, the federal charges announced today allege that members of LMPD’s Place-Based Investigations Unit falsified the affidavit used to obtain the search warrant of Ms. Taylor’s home, that this act violated federal civil rights laws, and that those violations resulted in Ms. Taylor’s death. Breonna Taylor should be alive today. The Justice Department is committed to defending and protecting the civil rights of every person in this country. That was this Department’s founding purpose, and it remains our urgent mission.”

Google denied permission to use its Google Surveys platform to publish a brief survey about people’s experiences with COVID-19 and myocarditis, according to Steve Kirsch, executive director of Vaccine Safety Research Foundation.

Google denied permission to use its Google Surveys platform to publish a brief survey about people’s experiences with COVID-19 and myocarditis, according to Steve Kirsch, executive director of Vaccine Safety Research Foundation.

Kirsch on Wednesday reported the rejection, telling readers of his Substack post:

“Clearly, they don’t want anyone to know the truth. The only truth they want you to know is what the government tells you.”

Kirsch said his team put together a two-question survey, and Google rejected both questions. Here’s what Kirsch and his team tried to ask:

1. Has anyone in your household (including yourself):

a. Had COVID

b. Is now unable to work because of a COVID infection

c. Died from COVID

2. Has anyone in your household (including yourself):

a. Had the COVID vaccine

b. Had a diagnosis of myocarditis after getting the COVID vaccine

c. Died from the COVID vaccine

“Apparently, Google won’t let you ask any questions related to … COVID or the vaccines. Wow. Just wow,” Kirsch said.

In a shocking new report from Rupa Subramanya, newly-unsealed court documents reveal that Justin Trudeau’s government had no scientific basis for a ban on domestic travel by unvaccinated Canadians on trains and planes. In the days leading up to it, officials in the secretive Covid Recovery unit of Transport Canada frantically looked for a scientific rationale for the travel ban, but came up short.

Jennifer Little, head of the Covid Recovery unit, suggested that a senior official in Trudeau’s Cabinet—or possibly Trudeau himself—had ordered them to impose the ban. No one in the Covid Recovery unit, including Little, had any formal education in epidemiology, medicine, or public health.

This comes just one year after Trudeau gave his classic fuhrer-style rant denouncing the unvaccinated and referring to his own policies as “tyranny”:

As San Francisco health officials consider the use of a different vaccine to vaccinate people at risk of monkeypox, the California Department of Public Health confirmed to KRON4 that it has ordered 200 doses of the older jab — but declined to say why.

The news comes amid shortages of the Jynneos vaccine currently being used to fight the outbreak, which can only be produced by the Danish company Bavarian Nordic. It also comes after a scathing report in the New York Times alleged that there will be Jynneos shortages for the next few months because of a “hands-off” approach to the crisis from federal officials.

No jurisdiction in the country has used any other vaccine in this outbreak thus far, CDPH stated.

KRON4 had reached out to the state health department, the San Francisco Department of Public Health, and the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for a Tuesday story on ACAM2000, 100 million doses of which are in the Strategic National Stockpile. ACAM2000 is the only other federally-approved treatment for smallpox (the smallpox and monkeypox viruses are so similar that smallpox vaccines, like ACAM2000 and Jynneos, are effective for both, health officials say).

As Bloomberg reportsinstitutional investors accounted for about three-quarters of the $309 billion in trading volume on Coinbase in the first quarter, the company disclosed in May. Coinbase clients include hedge funds, corporate treasuries and asset managers.

“The Coinbase partnership between BlackRock and Aladdin is an exciting milestone for our firm,” Brett Tejpaul, head of Coinbase Institutional, and Greg Tusar, vice president of institutional product, said in a separate statement.

As drug overdoses continue rising in the United States, one drug has emerged as the most notorious killer of our day: fentanyl. Unfortunately, those clamoring loudest about fentanyl’s death toll support policies that actually bolster its position in the illicit drug trade.

First approved for U.S. medical use in 1968, fentanyl is a synthetic opioid used to counter severe pain after surgery, and chronic severe pain. Though similar to morphine or heroin, it’s 50 to 100 times more potent.

Most of the fentanyl circulating on the streets doesn’t come from pharmaceutical companies. According to the DEA, black market fentanyl is “primarily manufactured in foreign clandestine labs and smuggled into the United States through Mexico.” China is a major source of its chemical ingredients and some finished product too.

As with other black-market knock-offs, the inconsistency of illicit fentanyl makes it more dangerous. Worse, it’s often laced into other drugs, including cocaine, heroin, marijuana and counterfeit pills disguised as pharmaceutical-grade Oxycontin, Xanax, and Adderall.

Though its effect varies by a user’s size and tolerance, ingesting just 2 milligrams can be fatal. That fact lends itself to jolting descriptions of fentanyl’s lethality by public officials, pundits and click-chasing media. A recent Fox News headline is just one of countless examples of fentanyl sensationalism: “Colorado State Patrol seizes enough fentanyl to kill 25 million people.”

In a survey commissioned by Winchester, 75% of centerfire rifle shooters used an MSR or "Modern Sporting Rifle." MSR is a term commonly used to refer to the AR-15 family of rifles.

Winchester found that 60% of those who hunt use a centerfire rifle, specifically an MSR. 40% of all hunters surveyed used MSRs such as the AR-15 for hunting.

This data would seem to contradict current legislative proposals on Capitol Hill, such as H.R. 1808, also known as the Assault Weapons Ban of 2022. Which just passed the House of Representatives in a 217-213 vote and currently sits awaiting a vote in the Senate.

MSRs are commonly used for hunting even in more restrictive states like Maryland, which ban cartridges like the .223 & 5.56 for hunting purposes. Because of this, many hunters choose to use straight wall cartridges like 350 Legend in MSRs like the Ruger AR-556MPR.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) has threatened to strike Tel Aviv after Israeli forces hit targets in the besieged Gaza Strip which led to the death of one of their military commanders and a child.

Israeli forces hit targets in Gaza, the military said on Friday, after days of tension following the arrest of a Palestinian militant leader in the occupied West Bank.

Local officials reported casualties and television pictures showed smoke pouring from a building.

"The Zionist enemy started this aggression and it must expect us to fight non-stop... There will be no truce after this bombing," Ziad al-Nakhala told Lebanon's Al-Mayadeen television channel from Tehran, where he has been visiting in recent days.

"There are no red lines in this battle... Tel Aviv will also be one of the targets of the resistance's missiles... as will all Zionist cities," he said.

August 6, 2022, will mark the 77th anniversary of the US dropping an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. United Nations (UN) chief Antonio Guterres will visit Japan on Saturday, "at a time of nuclear danger not seen since the height of the Cold War," as reported by Associated Press.

On August 6, 1945, the US dropped a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima in Japan, killing 140,000 people. Three days later, on August 9, 1945, it dropped another bomb on Nagasaki, killing nearly 74,000 people. On August 15, the same year, Japan surrendered to the allies, ending World War 2.

Four years later, in 1949, the Soviet Union tested its first nuclear bomb. The UK followed it in 1952, France in 1960 and China in 1964.

Since the end of World War, the world has come close to seeing another nuclear attack several times. The most serious among these was the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962, when the US and the Soviet Union confronted each other in a 13-day intense political and military standoff.

According to the Ukrainian news agency UNIAN, this measure comes after some of the beneficiaries of diplomatic passports have used official business trips to leave the country.

According to the aforementioned agency, citing sources from the Telegram channel 'Off the record', President Zelenski would have shown his anger for the trips of these parliamentarians, who would hide behind work matters to carry out leisure activities.

One of the most notorious cases is that of Nikolai Tischenko, a member of the ruling Servant of the People party, who traveled to the Czech Republic to attend a charity gala. The news quickly spread and the parliamentarian was severely criticized.

Amid ongoing issues with investigations into the attack on the U.S. Capitol, a Senate Democrat wants to shore up records access for watchdogs and information sharing with lawmakers.

The Homeland Security inspector general has been under fire for his handling of investigations into missing text messages from Secret Service agents and top Trump Homeland Security officials in the lead up to the Capitol insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021. Now, Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee's panel on Homeland Security, has introduced legislation aimed at fixing issues raised going forward with all IGs.

“While I share the concerns of my colleagues about the actions of the current inspector general, it is also clear the Secret Service tried to impede the inspector general’s investigation into the events of Jan. 6 by withholding records and ultimately erasing text messages,” said Murphy in a statement on Wednesday. “This legislation would prevent the Secret Service from undermining the work of the agency watchdog and stop them from keeping the American people in the dark about things they deserve to know.”

The number of cases of monkeypox has climbed in the U.S. military to 40, 10 times the number it was less than four weeks ago.

Defense Department spokesman Maj. Charlie Dietz said Friday the figure included 26 active-duty personnel. On July 8, the DoD had just four patients diagnosed with the virus.

The Biden administration declared monkeypox a public health emergency on Thursday, a move that allows federal agencies to dedicate more money to fight the virus and accelerate vaccination efforts and treatment.

Most of the fact-checking organizations Facebook has partnered with to monitor and regulate information about Ukraine are directly funded by the U.S. government, either through the U.S. Embassy or via the notorious National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

In light of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, an information war as bitter as the ground fighting has erupted, and Meta (Facebook’s official name) announced it had partnered with nine organizations to help it sort fact from fiction for Ukrainian, Russian and other Eastern European users. These nine organizations are: StopFake, VoxCheck, Fact Check Georgia, Demagog, Myth Detector, Lead Stories, Patikrinta 15min, Re:Baltica and Delfi.

“To reduce the spread of misinformation and provide more reliable information to users, we partner with independent third-party fact-checkers globally,” the Silicon Valley giant wrote, adding, “Facebook’s independent third-party fact-checkers are all certified by the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN). The IFCN, a subsidiary of the journalism research organization Poynter Institute, is dedicated to bringing together fact-checkers worldwide.”

The most powerful weapon to ever be used against other humans was detonated by the United States in Japan 75 years ago.

On August 6, 1945, a B-29 bomber famously known as the Enola Gay dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, marking the first of two times the bomb has ever been used in warfare.

The death toll itself was mind-boggling. As many as 140,000 people ultimately died from the blast, but not all perished immediately. The residual health issues caused by intense radioactive fallout claimed thousands of lives in the months and years afterwards as well.

The city was leveled – less than 10 percent of the buildings in Hiroshima were left undamaged by the bomb, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.

Days later, on August 9, 1945, the U.S. dropped another atomic bomb on Nagasaki, putting Japan on the brink of surrender.

A mold infestation is forcing roughly 1,200 Fort Bragg soldiers to move out of their 1970s-built barracks, which will be demolished after the evacuation, the Army announced Thursday.

The order applies to as many as 12 barracks in the Smoke Bomb Hill area that failed an inspection last week and were deemed uninhabitable. U.S. Special Operations Command is one of the units affected by the sudden evacuation.

Commanders at the sprawling North Carolina base will do an audit of all available space in search of new quarters for the displaced soldiers, who may end up being housed far from their co-workers and units, Military Times reported Friday.

White House national security spokesperson John Kirby told reporters at a briefing that it would like to see tensions with China come down immediately but that Beijing's move to suspend some communication channels was irresponsible.

The B61-12s, classified as “non-strategic nuclear weapons,” are deployed in Europe — in Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Britain and probably other countries — at distances far enough to strike Russia. They thus have offensive capabilities similar to those of strategic weapons.

Another nuclear weapon system, which the United States is preparing to install in Europe against Russia, is ground-based intermediate-range missiles. They can also be launched from “anti-missile shield” installations, deployed by the U.S. at bases in Deveselu in Romania and Redzikowo in Poland, and aboard five warships cruising in the Mediterranean, Black Sea and Baltic Sea close to Russia.

That such installations have offensive capabilities is confirmed by Lockheed Martin itself. Outlining the characteristics of the Mk 41 vertical launch system, used in both land and naval installations, it specifies that it is capable of launching “missiles for all missions, both defense and long-range attack, including Tomahawk cruise missiles.” These can be armed with nuclear warheads.

Europe is thus being turned by the U.S. into the front line of a nuclear confrontation with Russia, even more dangerous than that of the Cold War.

The bank of England warned on Thursday that the British economy was headed for a recession in the fourth quarter of the year, while think-tank the Resolution Foundation predicted inflation could hit 15 percent by the start of 2023.

Dockworkers at the UK’s biggest consumer goods port are set to strike later this month over pay — as inflation soars amid sanctions on Russia.
More than 1,900 members of Unite, Britain’s largest trade union, will walk out at Felixtowe port on the North Sea in Suffolk for eight days from Sunday August 21 to Monday August 29.

That was after employer Felixstowe Dock and Railway Company, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison, refused to increase its pay offer of seven per cent. Dockworkers accepted a rise of 1.4 percent in 2021.

“Strike action will cause huge disruption and will generate massive shockwaves throughout the UK’s supply chain,” said Unite national officer for docks Bobby Morton, but insisted that “this dispute is entirely of the company’s own making.”

“It has had every opportunity make our members a fair offer but has chosen not to do so,” Morton said. “Felixstowe needs to stop prevaricating and make a pay offer which meets our members’ expectations.”

Further talks between the union and management are scheduled for Monday.

The nation’s first class action settlement involving a COVID shot mandate should be a wake-up call to every employer that did not accommodate or exempt employees who opposed the COVID shots for religious reasons. NorthShore University HealthSystem will pay more than $10.3 million for unlawfully discriminating against more than 500 current and former health care workers and for denying religious exemptions from the COVID shot mandate.

There is no pause button on the federal employment law under Title VII. Employees do not lose their right to reasonable accommodation for their religious beliefs simply because an employer or even the federal government pushes a vaccine mandate under the guise of a pandemic. It is past time for employment law attorneys to stop sitting on the sidelines. They need to help people obtain justice.

Liberty Counsel has been working with thousands of employees who face these abusive and unlawful mandates.

Liberty Counsel settled the nation’s first classwide lawsuit for health care workers over a COVID shot mandate and NorthShore will pay $10,337,500 to compensate these employees who were victims of religious discrimination, and who were punished for their religious beliefs against taking an injection associated with aborted fetal cells.

Twitter last week censored Shmuel Shapira, M.D., MPH, for suggesting a connection between the monkeypox outbreak and mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, according to a Kanekoa’s Newsletter Substack post published Wednesday.

Shapira, who said he was injured after receiving his third dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, said Twitter demanded he remove a tweet that said:

“Monkey pox cases were rare for years. During the last years a single case was documented in Israel. It is well established the mRNA vaccines affect the natural immune system. A monkey pox outbreak following massive covid vaccination: *Is not a coincidence.”

Shapira is a full professor of medical administration at Hebrew University and served as director of Israel’s Institute for Biological Research from 2013-2021.

According to the author of the Kanekoa Newsletter, Shapira might be “the most senior ranking medical-scientist in the world to openly criticize the COVID vaccines.”

Come next January, Alabama will be the 25th state to allow the carrying of concealed weapons without a permit. Alabama will soon join Indiana which in March of this year passed a new statute allowing permitless concealed carry in that state—sometimes called "constitutional carry." In 2021 alone, at least six states passed their own provisions legalizing permitless concealed carry: Arkansas, Iowa, Montana, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah. Essentially, any law-abiding citizen over a certain age (usually 18 or 21 years of age) can now carry a concealed firearm in these states. 20 years ago, only Vermont allowed unrestricted concealed carry. Beginning ten years ago, however, more than twenty states adopted new laws deregulating the carrying of firearms.

Why is this happening now? On its most simple level, these laws are passed because lawmakers and constituents at the state level have advocated for their passage. Moreover, whatever opposition has existed among interest groups and the public has been insufficient to block their passage.
