Thought for the day

"Democracy has little meaning when big business rules the life of the country through its control of the means of production, exchange, transportation, and communication, reinforced by command of the press, press agents and other means of publicity and propaganda." -- US philosopher John Dewey

The White House walked back comments President Biden made about sending U.S. troops to defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion.

Biden made the remarks during a “60 Minutes” interview that aired Sunday.

Correspondent Scott Pelley asked the president if the US military would defend the democratic government of Taiwan should China take inspiration from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and attack the self-governed island.

“[W]ould US forces defend the island?” Pelley asked in the interview taped on Thursday.

“Yes, if in fact there was an unprecedented attack,” the president said.

New York City officials are going to fly out migrants to Florida after claiming many of them did not want to come to the Big Apple.

The Commissioner of Immigration Affairs for the city says that a lot of the migrants being bussed from Texas by Gov Greg Abbott are coming from Venezuela.

Manuel Castro claims that the majority of illegal immigrants that have arrived to New York want to go to Florida because of their large community of Venezuelans.

His comments come just days after Mayor Eric Adams was seen with celebrities during New York Fashion Week, shortly after telling reporters that the cities shelters were at ‘breaking point’.

Adams was snapped partying at the exclusive members-only club Aman New York in the Crown Building last night.

Castro told Fox News: ‘Many want to go to places like Florida where the largest community of Venezuelans live.

The War Room/DailyClout’s Pfizer Documents Research Volunteers — a group of medical and scientific experts who have selflessly stepped up to analyze the tens of thousands of formerly internal Pfizer documents released under court order subsequent to a lawsuit by Aaron Siri’s firm, Siri & Glimstad, and a FOIA by Public Health and Medical Professionals for Transparency — have now fully demonstrated that Pfizer’s mRNA vaccines target human reproduction in comprehensive, likely irreversible ways.

The California “super mom” who faked her own kidnapping and lied for years about being abducted and tortured by a pair of Hispanic women was sentenced Monday to 18 months in prison.

Sherri Papini, 40, was blasted as a “manipulator” by US District Judge William Shubb before he handed the stiff penalty.

The fraudster — who was dubbed a “super mom” when she vanished in 2016 — agreed to a plea deal in April that also requires her to pay more than $300,000 in restitution.

Prosecutors had requested she be locked up for eight months, according to a sentencing memo filed in her case. Her defense attorney asked she serve one month in prison and seven months of home detention.

A Delaware court ordered the University of Delaware Aug. 23 to provide clarity on its move to keep President Joe Biden’s Senate records hidden. It’s the latest development in the Daily Caller News Foundation and Judicial Watch’s lawsuit to make the records public.

The DCNF and Judicial Watch objected on July 27 to the university’s reasoning to not release the records. Now, the Delaware Superior Court is demanding the university provide further information justifying its move to keep the records out of the public eye. (RELATED: Judicial Watch, Daily Caller News Foundation Score Victory In Lawsuit Over Biden’s Senate Records)

Things are so bad for Vice President Kamala Harris that even Democrats and their allies are beginning to doubt her.

During an interview on Fox & Friends, former Democratic state Senator Gloria Romero argued that Harris is “using” President Joe Biden as a “meal ticket” to run for president in 2024.

“Let’s face it, Joe Biden is Kamala Harris’ meal ticket to potentially the presidency,” said Romero, the former California Senate majority leader from 2005 to 2008.

“She needs to go ahead and to keep putting out there for the public and especially potential other opponents that Joe Biden is running, because the longer that people can believe that myth, the greater the opportunity is that no other contender like [Gavin] Newsom or [Pete] Buttigieg or even Hillary Clinton might step into the fray,” Romero added.

If you haven’t noticed, America is on a steep decline that resembles a recession spiraling downward fast into a depression. As the Democrats in Washington DC choke out the supply lines on every front, while printing money wildly, US consumers find themselves spending $700 per month more on average, and that’s about to double or triple in the upcoming fall and winter season.

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, an ally of former President Donald Trump, announced over the weekend that he and his legal team are planning to sue the FBI and the United States government following last week’s reported phone seizure.

During an appearance on Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast on Friday, Lindell announced his intentions, stating it was about multiple alleged violations of the Constitution on the part of the FBI.

At a Save America Rally in Ohio on Saturday, the highly successful entrepreneur doubled down on the threat.

“On Tuesday, we’re suing the United States government and the FBI,” Lindell said to a round of applause.

Most Democrats believe that there are “tens of millions” of “dangerous MAGA Republicans,” a Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll released in September found.

The survey followed President Biden’s angry speech in which he demonized millions of Americans, deeming “MAGA Republicans” a great threat to the very “foundations of our republic.”  The poll asked voters, “Do you think there are tens of millions of dangerous MAGA Republicans backing violence and trying to overthrow the constitution or is that a gross exaggeration and distortion?”

While a majority across the board, 54 percent, said that characterization is a “gross exaggeration,” 46 percent believe that there are, in fact, “tens of millions of dangerous MAGA Republicans.”

But what is more, nearly three-quarters of Democrats, 73 percent, tend to believe Biden’s divisive rhetoric, concluding that there are literally “tens of millions of dangerous MAGA Republicans” who are overtly “backing violence and trying to overthrow the constitution.” Forty-two percent of independents agree with the majority of Democrats, as do 20 percent of Republicans.

Mazars USA, the longtime accounting firm for former President Donald Trump that cut ties with him and his family business this year, has begun turning over documents related to his financial dealings to Congress.

After a yearslong legal fight, the House Oversight Committee has received a first trove of documents from the firm, which recently entered into a legal settlement agreeing to produce a range of financial documents from several years before Trump took office and during his early presidency.

Mazars said in February it could no longer stand behind a decade of annual financial statements it had prepared for the Trump Organization.

More tranches of documents are expected to follow.

"They have sent us a number of documents," Rep. Carolyn Maloney, DN.Y., chair of the committee, said Saturday. "We're reviewing them."

A majority of "self-described Disney World enthusiasts" say the Florida theme park has "lost its magic" due to skyrocketing costs, according to a recent study.

A study from gambling website Time2play surveyed 1,927 "Disney World enthusiasts," and of those, 68.3% reported that the price hikes make them feel like the theme park has "lost its magic." A whopping 92.6% reported that they believe the high costs for the park has made a vacation for the average family "out of reach."

A ticket for Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in 1971 was a total of $3.50, according to the study. When adjusting for inflation, that would mean tickets would be about $25.60 today. Instead, tickets for one Disney World park range from $109 to $159 per day, according to the study.

Nearly 50% of respondents reported postponing a trip due to the price hikes.

On Saturday, at a rally for Republican Senate candidate JD Vance in Youngstown, Ohio, former President Donald Trump issued a dire warning to his political adversaries.

Trump blasted the “thugs and tyrants” attacking the Make America Great Again movement, declaring that they “have no idea of the sleeping giant they have awoken.”

“The radical Democrats view 75 million Americans as enemies to be canceled and suppressed. Ain’t going to happen,” he said. “They want to censor you from the internet, banish you from the public square, get you fired from your jobs, target you for destruction with 87,000 new IRS agents — we’ve been fighting that, we’ve been fighting them — use the FBI to spy on patriotic parents and criminalize political dissent as if we were a Third World country, a Third World dictatorship.”

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin rose to power in 2021 after shocking the pollsters and defeating Clinton bagman Terry McAuliffe, who was running for a second, non-consecutive term. The Republican’s victory was largely predicated on cultural issues, specifically dealing with what is being taught and done in public schools. On that subject, Loudoun County became ground zero after numerous reports revealed the school board had covered up a sexual assault in a girl’s restroom by a cross-dressing boy.

After taking office, Youngkin signed a series of orders to deal with the situation while the newly minted attorney general, Jason Miyares, began investigations. Now, the fight continues. Youngkin has reversed a policy that required schools to use someone’s “preferred pronouns” and that allowed different sexes to use the bathroom and locker rooms of their “choice.”

As Germany copes with a massive energy crisis, the police in the state of Berlin are preparing for large-scale looting and rioting in the wake of possible blackouts.

The Berlin Police have “secretly” drafted an “anti-chaos paper” outlining the measures needs to contain widespread public unrest and riots this winter, German newspaper Die Berliner Zeitung reported Friday.

The Berlin “police want to be prepared for the state of emergency,” the newspaper wrote citing a leaked internal document. According to the daily, the authorities were gearing up for “looting, unrest, and attacks on the critical infrastructure” if the electricity supply collapses.

According to prosecutors, Ryan Sawyer Mays was a young, arrogant sailor angry about being assigned to deck duty after failing to become a Navy SEAL — and he made the Navy pay in a big way.

However, the prosecution has presented no physical evidence proving that Mays, 21, set the USS Bonhomme Richard on fire, a fact defense lawyers plan to highlight at the sailor’s court-martial, which is scheduled to start Monday at Naval Base San Diego.

The July 2020 blaze burned for nearly five days and sent an acrid smoke over San Diego, damaging the amphibious assault ship so badly, it had to be scuttled. It marked one of the worst noncombat warship disasters in recent memory.
