"Corporations, like religions, make noble the basest instincts of man." -- Michael Rivero
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said Tuesday that a consensus among NATO countries persists that it is impossible for Ukraine to join the alliance now, but it may be possible in the future if conditions are met and the allies agree.
"There is agreement at least that Ukraine's accession to NATO is impossible for now," Szijjarto told journalists after the end of the first day of NATO foreign ministers' meeting in Brussels.
"A consensus formula has been formed that it [the accession] would be possible if the conditions are met and the allies agree. These are the two conditions now, there are no changes here. There was no breakdown of the agreement that Ukraine's accession to NATO is unimaginable in current conditions."
The volume of drugs smuggled from Ukraine to Russia over the past several years is enough to poison the population of an entire city.
"Drone" (mephedrone) and "flakka"(alpha-Pyrrolidinopentiophenone, a.k.a. alpha-PVP) started pouring into Russia eight years ago following the Maidan coup in Ukraine. Synthetic drugs became as prolific as heroin was in the 1990s.
One of the groups which started trafficking drugs from Ukraine in 2014 and mostly consisted of Ukrainians was the KhimProm Group. It would smuggle up to half a tonne of synthetic drugs per week, thus starting a war to destroy Russia from within, with the actors’ origins tracing back to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
Siloxanes are man-made chemicals that are used in creams, oils and sprays to shine and smooth hair by preventing moisture from getting in or out.
Scientists from Purdue University in Indiana found that when used with high-heat from curling and straightening tools, the siloxane-laden hair products evaporate and release toxins into the air.
Siloxanes, derived from silicone, have been linked to fertility issues, hormonal imbalance, and liver damage.
Yesterday it was reported that Britain might soon be expelled from the UN's 'Human Rights Council' because our own Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has previously recommended that single-sex spaces should be protected according to a person's physical sex rather than their more nebulous 'gender identity'.
In plain terms, that means that a male-bodied individual who wishes to use a female-only changing room could do so simply because they 'identified' as a woman. Anything else could be a breach of their human rights.
More and more disclosures indicate that many Israelis who died on October 7 were killed by the Israeli military. Interview with Israeli tank operators revealed orders to open indiscriminate fire in Israeli kibbutz which came under attack by Palestinian militants on October 7.
The 20-year-old captain, identified only as ‘Karni’, member of the all-female Israeli tank company, told that she was ordered by a “panicked” soldier to open fire on homes in the Holit kibbutz whether they contained civilians or not.
“The soldier points and tells me, “shoot there — the terrorists are there,”” the captain told, noting that when she asked “are there civilians there?,” her compatriot simply replied, “I don’t know,” and ordered her to “just shoot” a tank round into the buildings anyway. “I fired with my machine gun at a house.”
Adrenochrome (3-Hydroxy-1-methyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-indole-5,6-dione) is relatively easy to to synthesize. It is not manufactured because it has no applications, that is, nobody wants to buy it because it is useless. Its chemical derivative carbazochrome has some limited utility as a haemostatic (= toxivenol) and can be bought from a number of manufacturers.
More than four out of five cars advertised through Facebook's online trading platform Marketplace are scam listings, High Street bank Santander estimates.
A bombshell report by the bank has for the first time revealed the extent to which social media giant Meta is allowing its platform to be overwhelmed by criminals selling fake vehicles.
Investigators estimate there could be more than 100,000 fake UK car adverts on Facebook at any one point, Money Mail can today reveal.
If you search for any car type on Facebook Marketplace, it is likely fraud ads will be among the top results, Santander warns.
This is the moment police clashed with pro-Albania supporters during a night of chaos in London which saw thousands of Albanians descend upon the capital to mark the country's independence day.
The streets around Westminster were blocked by raucous crowds waving Albanian flags and setting off fireworks last night, with Audis, Mercedes and convertible sports cars seen driving on the pavement and honking their horns.
Deutsche Bank might have just blown up Letitia James’s civil fraud case against President Trump.
Radical Marxist New York Attorney General Letitia James is seeking $250 million in ‘damages’ when there is no victim in this fraud case and she is also seeking to ban Trump and his sons from operating any businesses in New York. She accused Trump of inflating his assets and defrauding lenders and insurance companies.
A Deutsche Bank executive who worked to approve at least one of Trump’s loans testified on Tuesday that it is “atypical, but not entirely unusual” to reduce a client’s asset values and still approve a loan.
This type of lending is typical in high net-worth, high-profile clients like Donald Trump. Anyone with basic knowledge of banking, lending, portfolio and credit risk management knows this.
Attorneys for the Justice Department have revealed documents connected to their search warrant for Donald Trump’s Twitter account, indicating that prosecutors collected a massive collection of data about the former President’s social media activity—including information on every account that liked, followed, or retweeted him.
The extensively redacted search warrant was revealed as a result of a judge’s ruling on November 17, which came after a consortium of media organizations filed an application in August for the warrant and other data to be made public.
A Deutsche Bank executive may have just wrecked New York Attorney General Letitia James’ lawsuit against former President Donald Trump.
James’ lawsuit has turned on framing the German bank lender as Trump’s ‘victim’ in an alleged scheme to inflate his assets in order to get better terms from banks and insurers.
It turns out that she has a problem with her alleged ‘victim.’ The bank seems to have approved of Trump’s asset valuation.
David Williams, who worked directly on at least one of Trump’s loans over several decades, testified on Tuesday in Manhattan that it’s “atypical, but not entirely unusual” for a bank to internally slash a client’s stated asset values by 50% and still approve a loan, as they did with Trump, according to Bloomberg.
You know, if you wanted to remove CO2, you could just plant trees.
All living things on earth are “carbon-based lifeforms,” and trees use the carbon in the air to grow.
This is the first time this winter that the Demand Flexibility Service (DFS) will be used to manage the nation’s energy use.
The DFS works by paying households to cut use by turning off washing machines, dishwashers, ovens, TVs and even lights during the evening peak.
National Grid ESO insisted that while the gap between electricity demand and supply will be ‘tight’, there is no risk of blackouts.
The Cybertruck’s anticipated success isn’t about being a flawless Tesla or a top-notch EV; it’s about its inherent difference.
Cybersecurity researchers have detailed a "severe design flaw" in Google Workspace's domain-wide delegation (DWD) feature that could be exploited by threat actors to facilitate privilege escalation and obtain unauthorized access to Workspace APIs without super admin privileges.
"Such exploitation could result in theft of emails from Gmail, data exfiltration from Google Drive, or other unauthorized actions within Google Workspace APIs on all of the identities in the target domain," cybersecurity firm Hunters said in a technical report shared with The Hacker News.
The design weakness – which remains active to this date – has been codenamed DeleFriend for its ability to manipulate existing delegations in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Workspace without possessing super admin privileges.
The recently disclosed critical security flaw impacting Apache ActiveMQ is being actively exploited by threat actors to distribute a new Go-based botnet called GoTitan as well as a .NET program known as PrCtrl Rat that's capable of remotely commandeering the infected hosts.
DJVU, in itself a variant of the STOP ransomware, typically arrives on the scene masquerading as legitimate services or applications. It's also delivered as a payload of SmokeLoader.
A significant aspect of DJVU attacks is the deployment of additional malware, such as information stealers (e.g., RedLine Stealer and Vidar), making them more damaging in nature.
In the latest attack chain documented by Cybereason, Xaro is propagated as an archive file from a dubious source that masquerades as a site offering legitimate freeware.
Opening the archive file leads to the execution of a supposed installer binary for a PDF writing software called CutePDF that, in reality, is a pay-per-install malware downloader service known as PrivateLoader.
I will say: this is the first time I’ve been impressed by global warmers.
For decades we were warned that someday our politicians would push things too far.
The campaign first came to light in late July 2023 when Sophos detailed a cluster of 40 credential-harvesting apps targeting customers of Bank Mellat, Bank Saderat, Resalat Bank, and Central Bank of Iran.
The primary goal of the bogus apps is to trick victims into granting them extensive permissions as well as harvest banking login credentials and credit card details by abusing Android's accessibility services.
"The corresponding legitimate versions of the malicious apps are available at Cafe Bazaar, an Iranian Android marketplace, and have millions of downloads," Sophos researcher Pankaj Kohli said at the time.
Google has fixed the sixth Chrome zero-day vulnerability this year in an emergency security update released today to counter ongoing exploitation in attacks.
The company acknowledged the existence of an exploit for the security flaw (tracked as CVE-2023-6345) in a new security advisory published today.
"Google is aware that an exploit for CVE-2023-6345 exists in the wild," the company said.
The vulnerability has been addressed in the Stable Desktop channel, with patched versions rolling out globally to Windows users (119.0.6045.199/.200) and Mac and Linux users (119.0.6045.199).
Tommy did end up going to that pro-Jewish event he was banned from.
And it looks like it went well for him.
He apparently makes money from creating scenes like this.
So a few months back, this was causing bond yields to rise high enough that the market started a downtrend again from the summer until October. Too many bonds being sold. Then the Treasury did Yellen’s Yolo, selling more bills instead of bonds, driving yields down. This contributed greatly to the November rally along with future expectations of lower Fed fund rates.
In a significant move, the European Parliament has voted in favor of the Migration Pact, a decision that diminishes the sovereignty of individual countries.
It sounds too crazy to be true, but can a tiny elementary particle really be God? Surely you've heard of the "God particle" that scientists in Switzerland have been able to locate. These scientists now announced a puzzling discovery at the Lage Hadron Collider in Geneva. The particles suddenly exhibited unexpected behavior that calls everything into question and shows in a shocking way that we can never know everything.
A groom in Thailand shot and killed his wife on Saturday before shooting three others and then himself just hours after they were married, according to the BBC.
