Russian President Vladimir Putin’s interview with conservative American journalist Tucker Carlson this week provided a great opportunity to make people in the West think, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.
Speaking to TASS on Saturday, Peskov said the two-hour interview, which largely revolved around relations between Moscow and Kiev, made it possible for Putin to be heard in the West.
Asked about the interest the interview has sparked, garnering over 100 million views in just one day on Carlson’s X account (formerly Twitter) alone, the spokesman replied that the numbers do not necessarily equate to universal support from viewers.
UK government must figure out how to share spending data across departments after up to £59 billion ($74.4 billion) in expenditure was lost to fraud and error early in the pandemic.
This is according to a report from the National Audit Office (NAO), which found levels of fraud in UK public spending grew sharply during the pandemic. The fraud reported in accounts the watchdog audits rose from £5.5 billion in the two years before the pandemic to £21.0 billion in the two years after.
Estimates from the Public Sector Fraud Authority (PSFA), the NAO pointed out, suggest fraud in UK public spending could have reached £58.8 billion during the 2020-2021 financial year, covering the height of the COVID-19 outbreak.
The NAO said lack of access to data was part of the reason authorities struggled to keep up with the explosion in fraud.
Prolonged use of acid reflux medications called proton pump inhibitors could increase the risk of dementia, a new study shows.
Previous studies gave conflicting advice on whether the medicines were linked to dementia. This latest research, published Wednesday in the journal Neurology, found that simply taking a proton pump inhibitor did not necessarily result in a higher risk. The key was the amount of time that a person took one of the medicines.
The risk showed up after people used the drugs for more than 4 years. People who used proton pump inhibitors for that duration or longer had a 33% greater risk of developing dementia. (The term dementia refers to a group of conditions marked by abnormal and progressive brain changes, the most common of which is Alzheimer’s disease.)
With the 2024 election season in full swing, and a Trump-Biden rematch appearing likely, Americans deserve to know that mail-in voting fraud likely changed the outcome of the 2020 election. In recent years, mail-in voting has become more commonplace. However, in 2020, mail-in voting reached an all-time record due to pandemic policies encouraging mail-in voting.
These abrupt and capricious changes to voting procedures in the months before the 2020 election occurred despite the fact that ample evidence showed that mass mail-in voting, unsecure ballot drop boxes, ballot harvesting, and lack of signature verification would result in a flood of fraudulent ballots that would undermine the accuracy of the election results.
A groundbreaking poll conducted by The Heartland Institute and Rasmussen Reports in November/December 2023 attempted to assess the degree of fraudulent voting that may have taken place. The results were stunning. Some of the most important findings from the poll include:
21% of mail-in voters admitted that in 2020 they voted in a state where they are “no longer a permanent resident.”
21% of mail-in voters admitted that they filled out a ballot for a friend or family member
17% of mail-in voters said they signed a ballot for a friend or family member “with or without his or her permission.”
19% of mail-in voters said that a friend or family member filled out their ballot, in part or in full, on their behalf.
The U.S. fleet of F-35 fighters continued to be vexed by reliability, maintainability, and availability (RMA) problems last fiscal year, available for operations only 51 percent of the time—compared to a goal of 65 percent—according to the Director of Operational Test and Evaluation’s annual report.
Aircraft availability among all U.S. F-35s hit its high water mark in January 2021 but has declined since, the report authors noted.
“In [fiscal year 2023], aircraft availability was slightly below that in FY’22, after declining for most of FY’21,” the report assessed. “Available” means an F-35 can do at least one of its many assigned missions.
If surgeons are permitted to cut off healthy breasts, why not healthy arms? If physicians are allowed to mutilate, manipulate, or surgically eliminate genitalia to “treat” a patient’s gender dysphoria, then why not healthy legs to treat another dysphoria? Since “gender affirming” surgeries are permitted for adults, with some states granting such life altering procedures for children, it’s a short progression to permitting surgeons to cut off healthy limbs, or deliberately causing paralysis, blindness, or deafness in an effort to treat a patient’s body integrity dysphoria.
Liberalism plugs into progressivism as its primary energy source. The need for something new or different is like an addictive drug for those among us who are afflicted with liberalism / progressivism. Change for the sake of change. Breaking cultural boundaries even when they’re societal loadbearing walls. The thing about progressivism is it must continue “progressing” or it’s dead. It gains strength on the fringe of society relentlessly pushing for new boundaries. What is acceptable in society, the status quo, and especially the way things used to be, the way we were if you will, triggers the irritant of progressivism into action. Most liberals today are progressives. When it comes to cultural norms, good enough can never be left alone. Fight for change, no matter the change so long as it goes just a little bit further away from conservative values is what drives these people.
Tolerance is no longer enough. Devout Jews, Christians, and Muslims tolerating the LGBTQ community is no longer acceptable to liberals. Either you celebrate “pride” or you remain silent and out of sight. You’re either on that curb clapping when they come promiscuously dancing by, or you’re in the closet. Opposing transgenderism is blasphemy against the liberal LGBTQ religion. When it comes to transgenderism and the attempt to normalize this mental illness within American culture, if people with a lot to lose speak out against it, if they dare question children “transitioning”, the Alphabet Mafia will release its fury to take everything they can away from their antagonists.
In an unexpected turn of events, President Joe Biden delivered impromptu remarks on Thursday evening.
The President, known for his occasional tardiness, was late to his own briefing. His comments were made in response to a report released by his Department of Justice, scrutinizing Biden's handling of classified documents.
Biden commenced his remarks by commending his administration for not pressing charges against him. He then expressed his disagreement with the assertions made in the 380-page report by Special Counsel Hur. Biden attributed his difficulty in responding to certain questions to the international events occurring at the time, specifically the new conflict in Israel, which was initiated by a Hamas-led massacre on October 7.
