The far-right party experienced a significant loss in the French election over the weekend, and officials in both the Israeli and French diplomatic corps are criticizing the conduct of Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli during the French election campaign. Ever since French President Macron called a Snap Election, minister Chikli was publicly and vocally in support of Marie Le Pen and her far-right National Rally Party, saying that Le Pen as president would be “excellent for Israel” and adding that Netanyahu was of the same opinion.

However, when it became clear on Sunday that an alliance of left-wing parties had been victorious, Chikli posted on X that the leader of the New Popular Front, Jean-Luc Melenchon, was “the French version of Jeremy Corby, an Israel Hater in heart and soul who refused to condemn the events of October 7 and to call Hamas a terrorist organization.”

As one can imagine, this conduct has damaged Franco/Israeli relations, with one Israeli official characterizing the Diaspora Affairs Minister’s behavior as a “diplomatic bomb.” They took this misstep seriously enough to prompt a response from Foreign Minister Israel Katz that “Israel does not intervene in elections in France and respects French democracy – just as we expect other countries to respect Israeli democracy.”

President Biden is setting up the next hurdle as he proves he is up for campaigning amid calls by lawmakers for him to step back – submitting to what the White House is now calling a 'big boy' press conference.

The commitment came on a day Biden phone into MSNBC and wrote restive congressional lawmakers seeking to provide assurances that he can beat Donald Trump after his shaky debate performance.

'I guess a big boy press conference, we're calling it, and take some questions from you all,' White House national security spokesman John Kirby called it while discussing Biden's schedule.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also used the term – which came from a reporter who last week wanted to know the nature of the event. Biden will 'hold a press conference - a big boy press conference,' Jean-Pierre said at the White House while battling questions about Biden's health and cognition.

Republicans are threatening to shut down a taxpayer-funded program they claim is censoring conservative Americans' freedom of speech.

The State Department's Global Engagement Center (GEC) directs and coordinates efforts to 'counter foreign propaganda and disinformation.'

But it has been exposed for giving out taxpayer-funded grant money to organizations currently being sued for First Amendment-related violations, posing freedom of speech and censorship risks according to GOP members of Congress.

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Michael McCaul, R-Texas, is now asking why the taxpayer-funded program should continue.

Riots erupted across northern Syria and throughout Turkey on Monday, fuelled by Turkish anti-Syrian sentiment. While social media fuelled hysteria and led to the outburst of violence, the underlying issues on both sides that underpinned the chaos may be indicative of an imminent deal to secure a normalization of ties between Ankara and Damascus.

Dozens of Syrians and Turkish soldiers were killed and injured in north-west Syria on Monday after Syrians responded with violent protests against the targeting of refugee communities living in Turkey. Fuelled through social-media-driven allegations regarding the reported sexual abuse of a Turkish child by a Syrian refugee, anti-Syrian mobs took to the streets to attack businesses and assault random people identified as being from Syria. “Armed demonstrators and Turkish forces engaged in armed clashes… in the city of Afrin,” it was later reported in al-Monitor, while exchanges of fire also took place in Jarablos.

A congressionally mandated review of the Air Force’s Minuteman III nuclear ICBM replacement found that its pricetag has exploded by 81 percent, resulting in an updated estimate of roughly $141 billion, the Pentagon announced today.

Despite that cost growth, the Pentagon’s top weapons buyer, Bill LaPlante, has certified the LGM-35A Sentinel program to continue, in part because “no alternatives” were equally viable and less costly. But in the meantime, LaPlante has rescinded the program’s Milestone B decision and tasked the Air Force to restructure the troubled acquisition, which he said will likely see a delay of “several years” under a new timetable.

“It is important to note that this certification does not indicate business as usual,” LaPlante said today in a briefing with reporters ahead of the Pentagon’s announcement. “The program will be restructured to address the root causes of the breach and ensure an appropriate management structure is in place to control costs.”

-Seoul is reviewing a request from Poland to buy its drones, particularly aerial attack vehicles used effectively in Ukraine, as it could help seal more contracts with a major arms buyer, a news report said on Monday.

Poland made a sales pitch for a range of its drones to a South Korean delegation led by Defense Minister Shin Won-sik that visited last month, South Korea's Dong-a Ilbo newspaper reported, citing unnamed government sources.

The Polish government highlighted the drones' effectiveness as proven in combat and their relatively low prices, Dong-a Ilbo reported.

Poland has signed major arms contracts with South Korea, including a $22 billion deal in 2022 for mechanised howitzers, tanks and fighter jets, the largest weapons sales ever for South Korea.

Extensive delays to the mid-life refueling and complex overhauls of two nuclear-powered aircraft carriers were due to damage to the steam turbines that power the ship, USNI News has learned.
According to Naval Sea Systems Command, “significant damage” to the generators aboard both USS George Washington (CVN-73) and USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) added unplanned work that was discovered after both carriers arrived at HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding for maintenance.

Every mid-life refueling and overhaul, “work package has planned inspections and routine refurbishment of the eight [turbine generators]; however, inspections for both George Washington and John C. Stennis revealed one generator on each ship with significant damage that resulted in unplanned growth work, which contributed to schedule extensions on both ships,” reads the statement from NAVSEA.

The Nimitz-class carriers mid-life overhauls are scheduled for four years, but Washington took almost six years while Stennis is set to take five and a half, USNI News reported last month.

It’s been nearly five years since Gina Cancelino lost her husband—U.S. Marine Gunnery Sgt. Joseph Cancelino—to his battle with cancer.

(Illustration by The Epoch Times, courtesy of Gina Cancelino, Courtesy photo by Rosie Lopez Torres, courtesy of Paul McMillin) She, like many other military spouses and family members, struggled to understand what caused her husband’s illness when it first manifested. Eventually, they began to realize it likely had to do with the open-air burn pits the U.S. military used for years to dispose of plastics, electronics, refuse, and medical waste during deployments throughout the Middle East and parts of Africa.

Gina Cancelino began her search for answers even before her husband’s death and filed multiple claims for benefits as a surviving spouse after his death. She saw one claim denied in the spring of 2021, and another in July 2022 before the Department of Veterans Affairs approved her third request in January 2023.

What changed between her second and third claims was that Congress had passed and President Joe Biden had signed the Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act in August 2022.

A Journey of Advocacy

The PACT Act’s passage followed years of advocacy by some of the very same veterans and family members directly affected by illnesses from exposure to burn pits and other sources of toxins. One group at the forefront of this advocacy effort has been Burn Pits 360

In a civilized society, authorities are able to maintain at least a basic level of law and order in the streets most of the time.  Unfortunately, at this point it is up for debate whether the United States is still a “civilized society” or not.  The chaos in our streets never seems to end, and those that are in charge of running things don’t seem to be able to regain control.  The theft, violence and mayhem that we are witnessing in our major cities is being fueled by the worst homelessness crisis in our entire history, the worst drug crisis in our entire history, and the worst migration crisis in our entire history.  If authorities cannot control our streets now, what is going to happen once our societal collapse reaches a much more advanced stage?

The Editor at Large for the Wall Street Journal, Gerry Baker, says: ‘We’ve been “gaslit’ and deceived” – for years – “all in the name of ‘democracy’”. That deceit “collapsed” with the Presidential debate, Thursday’.

“Until the world saw the truth … [against] the ‘misinformation’ … the fiction of Mr. Biden’s competence … suggests they [the Democrats] evidently thought they could get away with promoting it. [Yet] by perpetuating that fiction they were also revealing their contempt for the voters and for democracy itself”.

Baker continues:

Biden succeeded because he made toeing the party line his life’s work. Like all politicians whose egos dwarf their talents, he ascended the greasy pole by slavishly following his party wherever it led … Finally—in the ultimate act of partisan servility, he became Barack Obama’s vice president, the summit of achievement for those incapable, yet loyal: the apex position for the consummate ‘yes man’”.

“But then, just as he was ready to drift into a comfortable and well-deserved obscurity, his party needed a front man … They sought a loyal and reliable figurehead, a flag of convenience, under which they could sail the progressive vessel into the deepest reaches of American life — on a mission to advance statism, climate extremism and self-lacerating wokery. There was no more loyal and convenient vehicle than Joe”.

If so, then who actually has been ‘pulling America’s strings’ these past years?

Now in 2024, it's Joe Biden's 'turn' again. No one in his party was under the impression that he was the best candidate, the best campaigner or the best president, but damn it, it was his 'turn'.

And now the Democrats are panicking because the candidate taking his 'turn' is imploding.

Biden's debate meltdown has frightened Democrats, but they still have no answer for how to stop the car accident that everyone else could see coming from miles away. And no good strategy beyond getting the party leaders to confront their candidate and ask him to step down. But how do you take away Biden's 'turn' when turns are the most sacred thing in politics.

It's not an exclusively Democrat problem. The GOP put up Bob Dole against Bill Clinton and John McCain against Barack Obama because it was their 'turns'. They let Mitt Romney go up against Obama a second time because it was his 'turn'. And after Republicans lost two straight presidential elections because they ran establishment candidates taking their 'turn', voters were so sick of it that they did what they would have never done before and picked Trump.

Because it wasn't his 'turn'.

The House Judiciary Committee and Congressman Troy Nehls (R-TX) have released a damning video, presenting a detailed account of how Joe Biden and his liberal allies have weaponized the justice system against former President Donald Trump.

“Joe Biden has weaponized the DOJ against President Trump. And anyone who tells you otherwise, folks, they’re lying,” Rep. Nehls said.

Nehls begins by pointing out Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland’s appointment of Jack Smith as the “non-partisan” Special Counsel.

Nehls points out that Smith is the same individual who pursued Republican governor Robert McDonald, losing 8 to 0 at the Supreme Court.

He also highlights Smith’s history of targeting conservative groups and his wife’s role in producing Michelle Obama’s documentary.

He then turns to the case in Georgia, noting that Willis’ office met with White House lawyers in 2022.

Mayor Eric Adams’s administration has reportedly injected another $2.6 million of the city’s budget into a controversial program that distributes pre-paid debit cards to illegal immigrants.

According to the Office of the NY State Comptroller (OSC), by May 31, 2024, the city reported spending $1.47 billion in Fiscal Year 2023 and $2.72 billion in Fiscal Year 2024 on expenses related to “asylum seekers.”

This latest cash infusion brings the total expenditure on this initiative to an eye-watering $2 billion, according to the New York Post.

Webmaster addition: The Democrats have been bringing in tens of millions of illegal immigrants and using YOUR money to buy the immigrants' votes. That multiple Federal laws have been broken seems of little concern to the Democrats. But something that should concern us all is what happens After the election? Even if the Democrats win, they won't need the illegals' votes and the free stuff to the illegal immigrants will stop! What will happen then? What will these millions of illegal immigrants, many who came from prisons or mental hospitals in their home country, do when the free stuff stops? Why has nobody considered this long term effect of Biden's open borders?

Authored by David Stockman via Contra Corner blog,

This is not the first time that an invalid has occupied the Oval Office. After apparently exhausting himself in behalf of the “War to Make the World Safe for Democracy” and orchestrating the “peace conference” at Versailles that guaranteed the carnage of WWII, Woodrow Wilson succumbed to a nearly fatal stroke in October 1919 while barnstorming the nation in behalf of the League of Nations Treaty.

As it happened, America was than blessed with a perfectly serviceable Vice-President, Thomas R. Marshall, who had been a famous Midwestern lawyer, governor of Indiana, outspoken “progressive” and contender for the Democrat nomination in 1912. Wilson won the nomination on the 46th ballot but only after his advisers secretly promised Marshall the vice presidency in a very smoked-filled room in the wee hours of the Dem convention.

Perhaps that is why Marshall’s most famous quote is known to almost everyone more than 100 years later. Thus, observed America’s #2 leader—

“What this country needs is a really good five-cent cigar.”

Notwithstanding Marshall’s status as a second term almost-president, Edith Wilson was having none of a succession plan. And that’s despite the fact she did not have a degree in “education” nor did she answer to the “Dr. Edith” title.

But she had proven herself around Washington as no mean hostess when she slipped into the First Lady role during and/or after (it’s disputed!) the illness and death of Wilson’s first wife in 1915. Either way, Edith Wilson was not about to disembark from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue solely because her husband was virtually paralyzed on the entire left side of his body.

Indeed, the extent of her intrigues and deceptions designed to hang on to power are now legendary.

Claire's Observations:  Dr. Jill Biden understands full well, the implications of Biden's losing the Presidency, however that may come down;  all the power, and protection of that office, will be stripped from the family, and the cavalcade of "very interesting" business deals in which the Biden family has participated,   will be trotted out in plain sight, for the American people to see, to their collective,  and utter astonishment.

She's trying to push that day as far back as she is able, but there will be will be a moment of reckoning even she will be unable to prevent.

As speculation swirls around the 2024 presidential race, all eyes are on former President Donald Trump as he contemplates his next running mate. With a base that remains fiercely loyal, Trump’s choice for vice president could significantly impact his campaign and the Republican Party’s future.

Trump’s potential running mate must meet several criteria: unwavering loyalty, a solid conservative track record, and the ability to energize voters. Trump could pick someone outside the GOP, to pull in must-have moderate votes.

Many names have floated around. Those include Florida Gov. DeSantis, Sen. Tim Scott, Sen. J D Vance, and other rising stars within the party. Notably missing from the speculation have been Trump’s former vice president Mike Pence and his formerly bitter rival, Nikki Haley. Now, his campaign has made a big announcement.

From The Washington Examiner:
Former President Donald Trump is expected to announce his running mate in the next week or so ahead of the Republican National Convention.

Biden asserted in the exchange with ABC News that former President Donald Trump was a “pathological liar” and he would challenge him in a way he has never been challenged.

ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos then responded, “You’ve had months to challenge him.”

Biden retorted he had not yet because he was busy “doin’ a hell of a lot of other things, like wars around the world.”

“You’ve had months to challenge him”

BIDEN: “Well sure but I was doing a hell of a lot of other things, like wars around the world.”

— Nick Cleveland-Stout (@nick_clevelands) July 6, 2024

That didn’t go well! Stephanopoulos pushed Biden over his claim that he’ll “challenge” Donald Trump. He asked why hasn’t Biden challenged him yet, since he’s had months since Trump won the GOP nomination. Biden’s brilliant reply was that he’s been busying doing a “hell of a lot” like “wars around the world.”

Um… what!? First of all, Biden’s been doing nothing. He’s been napping while his incompetent staff have been making terrible decisions that only hurt America. But it’s nice to know Biden is taking credit for “wars around the world.” We are not sure which wars he is taking about. Chances are, he is referring to Ukraine and Gaza.

After years of the mainstream media shamelessly covering for President Joe Biden at every turn, the tide finally seems to be turning.

A Philadelphia radio host has found herself out of the job after she admitted that the White House provided her with a list of pre-determined questions before she interviewed Biden last week.

Andrea Lawful-Sanders admitted to CNN on Saturday that the White House sent her eight questions to ask before she interviewed Biden last Wednesday. Lawful-Sanders then picked four of these questions to ask Biden during his first interview since his terrible debate performance last month.

Unfortunately for Lawful-Sanders, however, it didn’t take long for this to blow up in her face

From Fox News:
On Sunday, WURD’s president and CEO, Sara M. Lomax, announced that Lawful-Sanders and WURD have “mutually agreed to part ways,” emphasizing that “WURD Radio is not a mouthpiece for the Biden or any other admin.”

In early June, Al Jazeera aired a series of disturbing videos revealing what it described as “summary executions”: Israeli soldiers shooting dead several Palestinians walking near the coastal road in the Gaza Strip, on three separate occasions. In each case, the Palestinians appeared unarmed and did not pose any imminent threat to the soldiers.

Such footage is rare, due to the severe constraints faced by journalists in the besieged enclave and the constant danger to their lives. But these executions, which did not appear to have any security rationale, are consistent with the testimonies of six Israeli soldiers who spoke to +972 Magazine and Local Call following their release from active duty in Gaza in recent months. Corroborating the testimonies of Palestinian eyewitnesses and doctors throughout the war, the soldiers described being authorized to open fire on Palestinians virtually at will, including civilians.

The British medical journal The Lancet published an article on July 5 that estimates the actual death toll of Israel’s US-backed military campaign in Gaza could be over 186,000 even if there were a ceasefire today.

The article, written by a group of experts, takes into account indirect deaths that have already taken place and will continue to happen to form its estimate.

“Armed conflicts have indirect health implications beyond the direct harm from violence. Even if the conflict ends immediately, there will continue to be many indirect deaths in the coming months and years from causes such as reproductive, communicable, and non-communicable diseases,” the article reads.

The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, the Catholic authority in the Middle East, has strongly condemned the Israeli bombing of a Catholic school in Gaza City, which killed at least four Palestinians.

“The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem is monitoring, with grave concern, the news of the raids, apparently launched by the Israeli army against the Holy Family School in Gaza this morning. Footage and media reports from the place include scenes of civilian casualties and of destruction in the compound,” the Latin Patriarchate said in a statement on Sunday.

The statement says that the school, which is the property of the Latin Patriarchate, has been “a place of refuge for hundreds of civilians” and that “no religious personnel” currently reside there.
