It's not often that stargazers get the opportunity to spot a comet with the naked eye.

But at the end of this month – or possibly the start of February – a newly-discovered space rock will whizz by our planet and light up the night sky.

C/2022 E3 (ZTF) was discovered in March last year while inside Jupiter's orbit, and will make its closest approach to the sun on January 12 and Earth on February 2.

Conservatives are learning the wrong lesson from the Twitter Files. They look at their record of government collusion and censorship—always helping the left and hurting the right—and conclude that the problem with the country’s tech giants, including Twitter before Elon Musk’s purchase, is that they exclusively employ ideologues committed to weaponizing the tools at their disposal for political gain.

Distrust in the justice system over its refusal to stop voter disenfranchisement is spiraling after Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson dismissedKari Lake’s lawsuit challenging the results of Arizona’s botched midterm election, where Democrat Katie Hobbs was declared the winner. Hobbs was losing in almost every MSM poll and didn’t bother to debate Lake, prompting one of the most prominent progressive journalists in the state to denounce her hiding in her basement as “political malpractice.” Hobbs was such an unremarkable candidate that she has only 177k Twitter followers to Lake’s 834k followers, over 400% fewer.

The Republican Party has a 4% voter registration over Democrats in both Maricopa County and statewide. Despite this, 14% of voters supposedly flipped to oppose Arizona’s top Trump candidates. Just like how no one believed Donald Trump lost the state in 2020 when he led Joe Biden three or four points going into the election, no one believes Hobbs won. This is why instead of being happy and gloating at their win, the left is reacting with a bizarre level of intense anger towards the right.

Lake’s team discovered that over 298,942 ballots delivered to third-party signature verification service Runbeck Election Services on Election Day had no chain of custody, and provided this evidence to Thompson. A Runbeck employee stated there were at least 9,530 duplicate ballots printed and issued with no chain of custody. And two days after the election, 25,000 more ballots were found which lacked a chain of custody, totaling over 333,472 ballots. Under Arizona law here and here, every one of those constitutes a class 2 misdemeanor.

This doesn’t even include all the “Door 3” ballots that were commingled with counted ballots at the vote centers plagued with printing problems; it is unknown how many of them have botched chains of custody.

A key federal agency worked with gun control advocates to bury a study that showed law-abiding firearms owners use them to protect themselves millions of times per year, according to a report.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) deleted a reference to the study, which it had commissioned, after gun-control advocates said it made passing new gun laws more difficult. The pro-Second Amendment site The Reload reported that the White House and powerful Illinois Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin helped arrange a series of meetings at which the gun control advocates convinced the agency to hide the study.

“[T]hat 2.5 Million number needs to be killed, buried, dug up, killed again and buried again,” Mark Bryant, head of the Gun Violence Archivewrote to CDC officials after a meeting. “It is highly misleading, is used out of context and I honestly believe it has zero value – even as an outlier point in honest DGU discussions.”

A powerful storm that battered California with widespread flooding and heavy snowfall is now heading east into the Central United States.

The storm pummeled northern California over the weekend, stalling traffic and prompting water rescues and evacuation orders - and 15 million people are now under winter weather alerts.

At least three people have died from the treacherous conditions, including one person found dead inside a completely submerged car Saturday in Sacramento County and a 72-year-old man who died after being struck by a fallen tree at a Santa Cruz park.

The word “Russophobia” has been used very widely in the past couple of years by Russians and by “friends of Russia” abroad to describe the campaign of vilification of President Putin in particular and of the Russian people more generally that the U.S. led West has practiced with rising volume and shrillness ever since the start of an Information War launched in 2007.

In the course of the “Special Military Operation,” the Kiev regime has taken the lead in disseminating vicious calumny about the Russian military. We have heard about “massacres of civilians” in Bucha by retreating Russians. We have heard about Putin dispensing Viagra to his soldiers so that they might carry out sexual violence against Ukrainian women in occupied areas under their control. These and similar allegations have been repeated endlessly in Western media as if they were proven facts. They were not and are not anything more than bare-faced lies. The image of savage Buryat and Chechen units within the Russian armed forces has been so widespread that even Pope Francis spoke publicly against these peoples from the Vatican. The apologies later extended by his Secretariat were made privately to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so the damage of this calumny will not be undone.

I suggest that we consider the Russophobia as just a new manifestation of an old trick of those preparing the public for war and managing popular emotions in a jingoist direction. It is all about dehumanizing one’s opponents to make killing more acceptable than Scripture and the basic disposition of civil society would allow.

News about the impending removal of foreign forces from Syria that you will not get…from Western mainstream

Happy New Year 2023 to one and all. With some luck we may all make it through the next 12 months intact.

My purpose in violating the sanctity of New Year’s Day is to bring to your attention news from the Middle East that has been posted by an authoritative newspaper from the region, Al-Watan, of Doha, Qatar, but seems not to have been picked up by mainstream Western media. My knowledge of it came from the so-called Free Press (Свободная Пресса) portal in Russia. I’d have learned about it sooner from the much better known RIA Novosti news agency, which also carried a lead story on the subject, but, sadly, RIA Novosti is banned in the European Union. Brussels obviously prefers for ours to be the Dark Continent where public opinion is manipulated from the offices of the Commission.

The news in question is about the announced results of negotiations held in Moscow two days ago between representatives of Russia, Syria and Turkey. That such a three-way meeting was possible was due to the recent decision of Turkish President Erdogan to finally recognize the legitimacy of the Bashar Assad government in Damascus. In this connection, it has also been reported in Russian media that a face to face meeting of Erdogan and Assad is expected to take place in the second half of 2023.

The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, sitting en banc (all judges on the court) has upheld Florida’s St. John’a County school policy of separating bathrooms based on biological sex, rejecting a challenge by a “transgender male” who was denied the opportunity to use the boy’s bathroom. The district provided sex-based (boys and girls) bathrooms as well as single-user gender neutral bathrooms.

While the headlines about the decision refer to a “transgender bathroom policy,” in fact it’s much simpler than that, what the court referred to as the “nearly universal practice of separating school bathrooms based on biological sex.”

Various states weighed in for and against the policy:

Imperial College London comes under fire as its diversity and inclusion team urges students to ‘take action’ and ‘have hard conversations with friends and family who deny white privilege’

A leading university was under fire last night for telling students to have ‘hard conversations’ with friends and family who deny white privilege.

Guidance from Imperial College London tells students to ‘understand that you have white privilege’ and to ‘educate others in your community’.

It adds: ‘If you have friends or family who take a different stance on these issues, now is the time to have a hard conversation with them and ask them to rethink their views.’

The university’s equality, diversity and inclusion page on its website also encourages students to ‘take action’ and become a ‘white ally’ by donating to the controversial Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement – a mission dedicated to ‘eradicating white supremacy’. BLM has faced a backlash over its far-Left demands, which include defunding the police.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake is open to a hand recount after her election loss to Arizona Democrat Gov.-elect Katie Hobbs by around 17,000 votes.

In response to a Twitter user calling for a “full hand recount of all AZ ballots,” Lake replied with three simple words: “Yes. We. Do.”

Newsweek reported: “Lake was responding to a post from Cory McGarr, a conservative member-elect of the Arizona House of Representatives. In his tweet, McGarr pushed for the hand recount and said: ‘If there’s nothing to hide there’s nothing to fear.’ McGarr also tagged Abraham Hamadeh, a Lake ally and former GOP candidate for Arizona attorney general who challenged the results of his own recent election after he lost. A recent recount in that race confirmed that Hamadeh had, in fact, lost to his Democratic opponent Kris Mayes—although by a slimmer margin than the initial tally.”

Last week, Lake filed an appeal after a judge rejected her claims in a lawsuit that sought to overturn her election loss to Hobbs.

In an interview on “The Larry Elder Show” on Epoch TV, Lake said those disputing her election lawsuits have “picked the wrong woman to mess with” and vowed to take her lawsuit “all the way to the Supreme Court” if necessary.

Ahmad Dawabsheh does not like to look back.

He has good reason. The 12-year-old survived one of the worst settler attacks in recent years when his family’s home in the village of Duma in the occupied West Bank district of Nablus was firebombed by Israeli settlers in 2015.

Ahmad’s 18-month-old brother Ali was burned to death.

His father Saad died a week later from his injuries. Riham, Ahmad’s mother, died a month after that.

Ahmad was 4 at the time. He sustained severe burns all over his body.

And the attack still casts a dark shadow over life in the village.

According to Nasser Dawabsheh, 48, the uncle who is now raising Ahmad, relations between the villagers in Duma and the settlers surrounding them have only gotten worse – and since 2015 the village has been attacked at least a dozen more times.

As for Ahmad, he is trying to put it behind him.

An earthquake rattled parts of Northern California on Sunday for the second time in two weeks. The 5.4-magnitude quake was centered about 30 miles south of Eureka. On Dec. 20, a 6.4-magnitude earthquake also struck near Eureka.

Now one quake prediction research firm warned that the next big one could be imminent.

On Monday morning, Quake Predictions published a warning that read for the next two days -- there is a "dangerous situation" of the likelihood of a 7.0-magnitude "in the San Francisco Bay to NW of Los Angeles area."

The warning comes after two sizeable quakes hit Northern California in less than two weeks.

Sunday morning's earthquake was described as "more violent this time," Rio Dell Mayor Debra Garnes told CNN in an interview.

"It was shorter but more violent. My refrigerator moved two feet. Things came out of the refrigerator. There's a crack in my wall from the violence of it," Garnes said.

The House Select Committee on Jan. 6 released the transcript of the probe’s interview with conservative activist Virginia “Ginni” Thomas Friday, revealing why she wasn’t mentioned once in the panel’s more than 800-page final report. Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, had nothing of consequence to offer her inquisitors — whether it be about the Capitol riot, efforts to overturn the 2020 election, or her husband’s work on the high bench — despite attempts by the panel and its corporate media allies to malign and bully her and her family.

In September, Thomas appeared before lawmakers to justify her choice as a private citizen with political opinions to petition her own government in the aftermath of the last presidential contest. Text messages published by the committee between Thomas and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows in March revealed the longtime activist pressing the administration to “stand firm” in its challenges against the final result.

“You are the leader, with him, who is standing for America’s constitutional governance at the precipice,” Thomas wrote as news organizations began to call the race for President Joe Biden. “The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History.”

Publicizing her private messages had its intended effect: tar the Thomas name and even provoke left-wing calls to impeach the sitting justice. Several Democrats on Capitol Hill demanded Justice Thomas recuse himself from relevant cases to the 2020 election, resign altogether, or face impeachment because his wife is politically active. But out of the 29 messages between Meadows and Ginni — among more than 2,300 text messages recovered from Meadows’ trove of data handed to the committee — not one, according to The Washington Post, included a direct reference to Justice Thomas. And Ginni made that clear to the panel.

Attacks on parents are getting closer to home. From a woke education establishment to increasingly activist child protection agencies, parents are losing the right to decide how to raise their children. My new legislation, the Parental Right to Protect Act, will ensure parents aren’t expelled from their child’s life because they disagree with the left’s radical ideas on sex.

More medical facilities are offering life-altering, non-reversible medical interventions for adolescents who believe they were born the wrong sex. Many parents are against these experimental surgeries and hormonal interventions because they know these treatments will cause irreparable physical and emotional harm to their children.

Take Chloe Cole, for example, who at age 13 began taking puberty blockers. At age 15, she had a double mastectomy. And at age 16, she made the decision to stop these interventions and instead affirm her sex. Earlier this year, Chloe launched an organization alongside others who regret having received so-called “gender-affirming care.” This organization now works to warn others about the harms caused by such medical interventions.

It’s no wonder countries such as the United Kingdom and Sweden have recently suspended their use of this experimental approach on children, recognizing its inherent risks. Too bad the Biden administration isn’t following suit.

The Biden Admin is taking heat for some blatant hypocrisy.

According to a report from The Daily Wire, the Biden Administration has reinstated COVID-19 testing requreiemtns for travelers entering the United States from China —a policy Biden called “xenophobic” under President Trump.

Stephen L. Miller of The Spectator was quick to point out the blatant hypocrisy by sharing the story along with tweets from Biden and former President Trump.

“I always treated the Chinese Virus very seriously, and have done a very good job from the beginning, including my very early decision to close the ‘borders’ from China – against the wishes of almost all,” Trump tweeted on March 18, 2020. “Many lives were saved. The Fake News new narrative is disgraceful & false!”

Biden responded at the time: “Stop the xenophobic fear-mongering. Be honest. Take responsibility. Do your job.”

Assuming that it costs $50K per year per soldier, the cost to protect a 2000 mile border with 2 twelve hour shifts of one soldier per quarter mile of border would be $80 Billion dollars. Now add up the costs from the map, and you come up with over $85 Billion! So, it’s costing at least $5 Billion a year to subsidize illegal immigration. These numbers on both sides are conservative and the former does not necessarily take into account the social costs of illegal immigration. One soldier per quarter mile is likely more than we need, and there are probably some stretches of border that need much less coverage because of its remoteness and harsh conditions. Therefore the $5 Billion SAVINGS figure could easily balloon to $10 Billion or more, and that would conservatively save the average family over $135 a year not to mention the peace of mind of a lower crime rate, the preservation of America’s culture, economy and a stronger educational system.

Now, add to that the federal cost of illegal immigration, and it’s another $30 Billion dollars for a total of $115 Billion!

If drones and satellite coverage were employed, that might reduce the need for a lot of feet on the ground, It might save another $20 – $30 Billion dollars so the average family is unburdened to the tune of close to $300 a year. If our government is so corrupt – don’t think for a moment this isn’t engineered; then think how much more waste there is in the military, welfare, education, medical care, retirement (Social Security) etc. etc. If honest Constitutional government were restored, it would reduce the average family’s tax burden by ten thousand dollars or more. Many taxes are not seen directly. Gas tax, excise tax, inflation etc.

“Be the magic you want to see in the world,” Walt Disney World in Florida tells those attending the Magic Kingdom, in the hope they won’t get into fights that go viral on YouTube and TikTok.

Was a behavior warning necessary when the United States was 90 percent white in 1960, and Jim Crow laws were the norm throughout South, helping maintain standards of civility completely gone in integrated 2023 America, where viral videos of fights almost exclusively between black patrons of amusement parks (or restaurants) offer real-time proof why are ancestors were so adamant the goals of the America Colonization Society were completed?

The statue of Victor Hugo has loomed outside the city hall of his birthplace, situated on the Esplanade for Human Rights, since 2003, his white beard knotty, his black suit rumpled, his face cast down at his pocket watch.

Over the years, the colored bronze began to fade, turning to brown and green, until the mayor’s office recently hired an expert to do a restoration.

And that is when the seemingly unremarkable refurbishment of a statue turned into another controversy in France about race, identity and the importation of American “woke” ideas about racial injustice — what the French call “le wokisme.”

The city hall’s Facebook site announced the statue had been restored to reflect the original work by the celebrated Senegalese sculptor Ousmane Sow, who, it said, liked color and was not keen on “simple bronzes.” The comments rolled in, some positive, others critical with one focus — the color of Hugo’s skin.

“We’ve gone from Victor Hugo to Morgan Freeman,” wrote one commentator.

2022 planted the seeds for tyranny and death. My analysis today will focus on only four of the many terrible events of 2022.

One is the FBI raid on President Trump’s home.

One is the second stolen national election.

One is the war against Russia that is leading to Armageddon.

One is the deception about the effectiveness and safety of the Covid mRNA “vaccine.”

The unprecedented raid on President Trump’s home revealed the Gestapo State that has replaced American Democracy. Few comprehend the threat that the raid reveals. First there is the disrespect shown a recent President of the United States who clearly has far more public support than any president since Ronald Reagan. If a President of the United States can be treated in such a high-handed way, what prospect do the rest of us have?

Many people view cruising alone down the open road as the ultimate form of freedom. We regret to inform you that liberty will completely evaporate soon unless Congress acts.

The website Motorious reported on Friday that former Georgia Congressman Bob Barr has been sounding the alarm on a terrifying item buried within the Biden-McConnell “infrastructure” legislation, which passed in August 2021. According to Barr, the government will now have the power to shut off your vehicle if they determine you are partaking in any “illegal” activity.

Does anyone really believe the Biden Regime will not abuse this newly obtained power? Of course, they will! Particularly if such power can effectively target those opposed to the Regime’s agenda.

Better not be driving a gas-guzzling vehicle.  The Regime might think you are a conservative and leave you stranded in the middle of a highway.

Webmaster addition: All this will do is create another opportunity for criminals to build and sell devices to other criminals to jam or bypass the shutdown signal.

If we heard it once, we heard it a thousand times.

“The science says…”

“The data show…”

“The experts agree…”

Now we know that the government took secret action to muscle social media companies into censoring and banning highly credentialed and respected medical and scientific experts, as well as anyone who cited or shared their views.

That’s the latest revelation from the Twitter Files, internal company communications that owner Elon Musk has opened to a group of independent journalists.
