"Americans have the will to resist because they have weapons. If you don't have a gun, freedom of speech has no power." -- Yoshimi Ishikawa, Japanese author, in the LA Times 15 Oct 1992

The average credit card debt hovering around $6,000 underscores the mounting financial pressure on households, raising alarms about the sustainability of current economic conditions. Recent job cuts in prominent companies such as Wayfair, Hasbro, Spotify, and Twitch add fuel to the concerns, with significant percentages of their workforces affected.

President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit East Palestine, Ohio, this month, the site of a train derailment a year ago. Biden was criticized at the time for not traveling to see the effects of the accident.

There’s good news for Biden, then, according to a resident and a local environmental expert who has tested water and soil near the derailment site: Biden can still see the effects of the accident, because they haven’t been fully cleaned up despite official claims to the contrary.

NewsNation spoke to local resident Rick Tsai, who has become so frustrated by the government response to the incident that he’s running for Congress.

“They’re either inept, or there’s something nefarious going on,” Tsai told NewsNation’s Rich McHugh.

“I can teach a 7-year-old to do this with a stick, and the EPA can’t find them with millions of dollars,” he added, referring to the fact that by merely shifting dirt in the riverbed, chemical contamination in local streams became obvious.

Yesterday, a reporter standing outside the Senate chamber told me that after four months of secrecy, The Firm™️ plans to release the text of the $106 billion supplemental aid/border-security package — possibly as soon as today.

Wasting no time, she then asked, “If you get the bill by tomorrow, will you be ready to vote on it by Tuesday?”

The words “hell no” escaped my mouth before I could stop them. Those are strong words where I come from. (Sorry, Mom.)

The reporter immediately understood that my frustration was not directed at her. Rather, it was directed at the Law Firm of Schumer & McConnell (The Firm™️), which is perpetually trying to normalize a corrupt approach to legislating, in which The Firm™️:

  1. Spends months drafting legislation in complete secrecy
  2. Aggressively markets that legislation based not on its details and practical implications (good and bad), but only on its broadest, least-controversial objectives
  3. Lets members see bill text for the first time only a few days (sometimes a few hours) before an arbitrary deadline imposed by The Firm™️ itself, always with a contrived sense of urgency
  4. Forces a vote on the legislation on or before that deadline, denying senators any real opportunity to read, digest, and debate the measure on its merits, much less introduce, consider, and vote on amendments to fix any perceived problems with the bill or otherwise improve it.

The rate of global greening caused by recent increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide has accelerated during the last two decades, according to important new findings recently published by a group of Chinese scientists. About 55% of global land mass revealed an “accelerated rate” of vegetation growth, compared with only 7.3% showing increased decline or ‘browning’. Global greening due to higher levels of CO2 is an inconvenient fact that is often ignored in mainstream climate science. In fact there have even been attempts to suggest greening has slowed or reversed. Studies showing higher levels of global browning use sources that “should be used with caution”, advise the authors of the new study.

It is known that the planet has been greening since at least 1980, with some estimates suggesting increased levels as high as 14%. In a detailed paper published in 2016 by 32 authors from eight countries, it was noted that there was a “persistent and widespread increase” in growing-season greening over 25-50% of the global vegetated area. Now the Chinese scientists, including Eco-Climatologist Professor Tiexi Chen, state that “global greening is an indisputable fact”.

The California Legislative Black Caucus announced a package of 14 slavery reparations, including an exemption to the state constitution’s ban on racial preferences and discrimination. Notably, the package does not include direct cash payments to descendants of slaves. California joined the United States as a free state that expressly outlawed slavery.

Webmaster addition: I told you the Democrats could not keep the promise of payments!

In 2019, a strange woman named E. Jean Carroll accused Donald Trump of raping her in a changing room of the Bergdorf Goodman department store in Midtown Manhattan. Trump called her crazy, and a jury found him liable for both sexually abusing her and defaming her with the “crazy” talk. Last week, a New York jury decided Carroll deserves $83 million for defamation.

Here are 25 reasons why that’s nuts.

Webmaster addition: The jury did not conclude that rape occurred. The judge simply declared it to be so after the jury decision. On that point alone, Trump will win an appeal.
