Through its lawsuit against federal public health agency Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, the America First Legal Foundation obtained a batch of internal documents, revealing that the CDC had access to a secret Google portal designed to centralize the flagging of Covid-19 information conflicting with the official narrative [1].

The America First Legal Foundation is chaired by former President Donald Trump’s speechwriter. Its board of directors includes senior officials from President Trump’s White House and it runs an annual budget of over $6 million. According to the Washington Post [2], this foundation would form part part of Donald Trump’s stand-by cabinet should he win the next presidential election.

Google’s secret portal is located in Indonesia and operated by the Islamist Fact Checking Association, Mafindo [3]. The latter serves as the focal point for censorship on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp and Hello. It receives its funding from the Indonesian State.

The Federal Reserve giveth, and the Federal Reserve taketh away.  In a desperate attempt to help the U.S. economy recover from the horrific economic crisis of 2008 and 2009, the Federal Reserve pushed interest rates all the way to the floor and kept them at or near the floor until 2022.  During that same time period, the Fed also created trillions of dollars out of thin air and pumped it into the financial system.  All of this new money had to go somewhere, and it created colossal financial bubbles that were unlike anything we had ever seen before.  There were a few voices that were warning that all of this foolishness would end very badly, but those voices were mostly drowned out by those that were super happy that asset values were absolutely exploding.  The Fed had essentially created the ultimate “get rich quick scheme”, and countless Americans were more than happy to take advantage of it.

But in 2022 inflation started to become exceedingly painful, and the Federal Reserve went into panic mode.  The flow of free money stopped, and the Federal Reserve began to aggressively hike interest rates.

The brain will be the battlefield of the 21st century, NATO believes and has made a major strategic shift. Until now, the transatlantic organization defined five operational areas for its military activities, namely land, sea, air, space and cyberspace. But for the thinking heads of the alliance, the present and future conflicts will no longer be only “kinetic”, that is to say confined to movement and physical destruction, but will be located – and will be won – elsewhere.

According to Hervé Le Guyader, the “Five Brains Initiative” will be launched in 2024. Le Guyader is Professor of Evolutionary Biology at the Institute for Cognitive Science in Bordeaux and has studied “weapons of neuroscience”. The author concluded that “indeed, the human mind should be NATO’s closest area of operation”.

The goal of cognitive warfare is to make everyone a weapon. Based on this observation, François du Cluzel, a French officer who in 2013 participated in the creation of the NATO Innovation Hub (iHub), discussed at length his vision of the conflicts of tomorrow in a publication entitled “The cognitive war”.

Moqtada al-Sadr, the Muslim Shi'ite cleric who dominated Iraqi politics for two decades, seems isolated for now after his move to step back from formal politics emboldened his Iranian-backed rivals and raised the prospect of fresh factional flare-ups.

Iran, which already controls dozens of heavily-armed Shi'ite militias in its oil-producing neighbour, may now have an opportunity to expand its influence over Iraq's government, a worst case scenario for the United States and its allies.

Although Sadr won a parliamentary majority in a 2021 election, he chose to withdraw in August after his failed, year-long bid to form a cabinet without rivals close to Iran.

Paris and Brussels are banning Russian media outlets for fear that audiences will see an alternative point of view concerning global and Ukrainian events and draw their own conclusions, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.

"In fact, Europeans are being deprived of their right to free access to information. It seems that Paris and Brussels are afraid that the audience, having seen a different point of view and world picture, which does not correspond to the Western media mainstream, will draw their own conclusions about what is happening in the world and in Ukraine in particular," the diplomat said in a commentary distributed by the Russian Foreign Ministry in connection with the ban on the broadcasting of a number of Russian TV channels introduced both in France and throughout the EU.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in the program "The Big Game" on Channel One, said that the United States would not send specialists to Ukraine along with Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMs), since Washington does not intend to directly fight against Russia.

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the official refusal became known after a request through diplomatic channels. The agency asked whether the decision to transfer the complexes to Kiev also means sending American military personnel, since the SAMs are difficult to use.

Armed raids in a region of South Sudan plagued by ethnic clashes have forced around 30,000 civilians to flee their homes, the UN's emergency response agency said Thursday as international partners demanded an end to the violence.

On December 24, armed men from Jonglei state, an eastern region beset by gun violence, attacked communities in nearby Greater Pibor Administrative Area, the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a statement.

The violence followed clashes last month in South Sudan's far north that uprooted thousands in Upper Nile state.

"People have suffered enough. Civilians, especially those most vulnerable -- women, children, the elderly and the disabled -- bear the brunt of this prolonged crisis," said Sara Beysolow Nyanti, the UN humanitarian coordinator in South Sudan.

Iran’s army begins Thursday military exercises in strategic southern regions east of the Strait of Hormuz, state news agency IRNA reported.

Joint drills involving air, land, and naval forces — including both drones and submarines —  will take place around the southeastern port of Jask “east of the Strait of Hormuz,” deputy coordinator of the armed forces Admiral Habibollah Sayyari told IRNA.

The Strait of Hormuz is the strategic chokepoint at the head of the Gulf through which a fifth of world oil output passes.

Exercises will involve “infantry, armoured and mechanised units of the ground forces, defence systems of the air defence force (and) subsurface and surface vessels,” he said.

Naval forces with the support of “strategic bombers of the air force” will also take part.

Sayyari said that drones will practice “information-gathering operations against attacking forces as well as reconnaissance operations.”

Hundreds of protesters descended on the Knesset Thursday, starting in the morning, to demonstrate against the new government and denounce what they said were its corrupt leaders and extremist policies, which they claimed will endanger the future of the country.

Amid a raucous atmosphere, protesters blasted foghorns and shouted through megaphones, condemning incoming prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu over his corruption trials and castigating his government’s plans to curtail the authority of the High Court of Justice.

Demonstrators carried Israeli and LGBTQ pride flags, as well as placards with a wide variety of slogans lamenting the entry into power of a right-wing, religious government.

War fever has strongly affected thinking about the conflict in Ukraine. US Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger warns that this could lead to another dangerous global conflict. In a recently published notable article, he calls for rapid negotiations and urges politicians to develop a strong vision and political courage.

When it comes to foreign policy, Henry Kissinger is one of the most important voices in the US. For many years he was national security adviser. He also served as Secretary of State under the Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. In the early 1970s, he masterminded the rapprochement between the US and China in order to isolate and weaken the then Soviet Union.

The 99-year-old Kissinger is not a wimp. He was directly involved in the 1973 coup in Chile and also in the extremely brutal Vietnam War.

The first three were the direct result of US intelligence agencies’ anti-Russian information warfare campaign and attendant political weaponization of the false perceptions that were instilled in the minds of the European elite. The last two then built upon the preceding progress to geostrategically re-engineer the continent via a clever divide-and-rule system that’s upheld by the Damocles’ sword of catalyzing cascading crises across Africa that would inevitably spill into Europe as punishment if the US’ vassals ever dare to seriously rebel.

The successful reassertion of the US’ previously declining unipolar hegemony over Europe was one of the most important developments of the past year. The objectivity of this assessment is evidenced by Director General of the prestigious Russian International Affairs Council Andrey Kortunov extensively elaborating on that trend in his report about “A New Western Cohesion and World Order” that he published in late September. It’s worth reading for those who aren’t yet familiar with his thoughts.

The present piece won’t rehash that esteemed expert’s insight, but build upon it in the geostrategic direction. The overarching trend that Kortunov devoted considerable time to investigating has some additional facets that he either glossed over or completely missed in his report. This analysis will therefore aim to correct those shortcomings, while humbly acknowledging that it too is far from comprehensive and admittedly overlooks some details as well.

What follows are the five ways that the US successfully reasserted its hegemony over Europe in 2022. These factors contributed to the past year being transformational for Russian grand strategy since they forced the Kremlin to decisively oppose the US-led West’s Golden Billion after realizing that any potential rapprochement with this de facto New Cold War bloc was now impossible even if it undertook some pragmatic compromises to that end. Here’s how the US made this outcome inevitable:

A comet not seen since Neanderthals walked the Earth is set to make a return trip - and astronomers have shared the first detailed image of the 'cosmic snowball.'

Formally known as C/2022 E3 (ZTF), the comet orbits the sun every 50,000 years and is set to make its closest approach to our planet on February 1, 2023.

E3 was discovered in March, but scientists recently snapped the first detailed photo revealing its brighter greenish coma and a yellowy dust tail.

While the comet is too dim to see without a telescope, it should be visible to the naked eye when it is roughly 26 million miles away.

In early March, astronomers discovered Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) using the wide-field survey camera at the Zwicky Transient Facility.

Since then, the new long-period comet has brightened substantially and is now sweeping across the northern constellation Corona Borealis in predawn skies.

The comet is currently 117 million miles from Earth and is set to reach the sun on January 1, loop around and make its closest approach to our planet.

And E3 will be the first comet seen to the naked eye since the NEOWISE comet in July 2020.

Las Vegas is one of the largest cities for Southwest Airlines. And with the carrier cancelling thousands of flights every day over the holidays, many of those who happened in Vegas have been forced to stay in Vegas.

Southwest has said they’ll cover reasonable expenses for affected travelers. That likely covers modest meals and hotel accommodations. But what about immodest expenses? For those, Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club has Southwest passengers covered offering:

  • Free transportation to the club
  • Waived cover charge
  • One free drink
  • And a lap dance

According to the club’s General Manager,

With the current state of Harry Reid International Airport, many holiday travelers have been left stranded and may not make it home for the unforeseeable future, possibly until after the New Year. We are doing our part by opening our doors to travelers who are most affected to ensure their extended stay in Las Vegas is a memorable one.

All that’s needed is “proof of having a canceled or delayed flight” for dads to go and learn whether they’ve failed the Chris Rock test.

Republican Kari Lake highlighted a story in a tweet about a recent ruling in Georgia ordering a new election there after a hearing found that state elections officials identified so many “systemic irregularities” that it likely changed the results of the election.

Lake’s recent tweet about the GA election update, was made just days after a judge ruled not to overturn the result of her race in Arizona or hold a new election in Maricopa County, even after hearing testimony that the same set of circumstances occurred in her own Arizona race.

The similarities to her own situation were notable.

In Gerogia, two sitting county commissioners, a candidate for local office, and two residents sued Screven County election officials over the November 8 General Election certification there.

In mid-November, GA Attorneys representing the GA parties being sued over the handling of the results of the election in Screven County, Georgia, filed their first answers to the lawsuit.

“The point of contention is over the county’s decision to certify election results in Screven County in a county commission race with a margin of just seven votes. In that race, the opponents of the certification now say proper ballots with the correct county commission districts were not given to voters who changed districts thanks to the redistricting earlier this year,” local GA news reported.

China has sailed one of its three aircraft carriers near the U.S. territory of Guam, Japanese officials confirmed, ending an already combative year with a rare move that Beijing signaled as a clear warning to the Biden administration over Taiwan.

The Chinese fleet, led by the aircraft carrier Liaoning, had already spurred several clashes with U.S. allies in the region with its tour of the western Pacific, most recently by conducting roughly 260 takeoff and landing drills near the Japanese island of Okinawa, home to a major U.S. military presence. The operations prompted the Japanese air force to scramble fighter jets and helicopters, as well as a destroyer and other elements of its self-defense forces.

But Japanese officials also confirmed Thursday that the Chinese vessels had transited to the south, near the western edge of territory the U.S. claims as part of the remote island of Guam – a critical element of America’s ability to project military might in the region as both a stopping point and a base for strategic Air Force bombers and Navy submarines.

Chinese state news framed the deployment as an overt provocation to the U.S. and a warning against continuing behavior this year that has outraged Beijing.

Months before the New York Times published a December article suggesting Rep.-elect George Santos (R-N.Y.) had fabricated much of his résumé and biography, a tiny publication on Long Island was ringing alarm bells about its local candidate.

The North Shore Leader wrote in September, when few others were covering Santos, about his “inexplicable rise” in reported net worth — from essentially nothing in 2020 to as much as $11 million two years later.

The story noted other oddities about the self-described gay Trump supporter with Jewish heritage, who would go on to flip New York’s 3rd Congressional District from blue to red, and is now under investigation by authorities for misrepresenting his background to voters.

“Interestingly, Santos shows no U.S. real property in his financial disclosure, although he has repeatedly claimed to own ‘a mansion in Oyster Bay Cove’ on Tiffany Road; and ‘a mansion in the Hamptons’ on Dune Road,” managing editor Maureen Daly wrote in the Leader. “For a man of such alleged wealth, campaign records show that Santos and his husband live in a rented apartment, in an attached rowhouse in Queens.”

The Catholic Jesuit order, of which Pope Francis is a member, has been rocked by claims a prominent priest abused several women, a case raising questions about how the Church sanctions offenders.

Father Marko Rupnik, a 68-year-old Slovenian priest and world-renowned artist, is accused of abusing a number of women at a religious community in Ljubljana in the early 1990s, in what press reports said involved sexual and psychological violence.

The case first emerged in the Italian media, before the Jesuits — one of the main Roman Catholic orders, founded in 1540 — revealed it had sanctioned Rupnik, denying him the right to hear confession.

The Vatican’s dicastery (ministry) for the doctrine of the faith was involved in the case but said it could not put Rupnik on trial because the statute of limitations had expired.

Disgraced cryptocurrency mogul Sam Bankman-Fried met with four Biden officials this year before the collapse of his FTX empire and his arrest in the Bahamas.

The Democratic donor, 30, awaiting trial for what prosecutors say is one of the biggest financial frauds in U.S. history held talks with senior White House advisor Steve Ricchetti on September 8, Bloomberg reported on Thursday.

He has had at least two other meetings with Ricchetti on April 22 and May 12 and another with top aide Bruce Reed.

Bankman-Fried's brother Gabriel also participated in a meeting on his own on May 13.

The latest report is further evidence of the deep ties Bankman-Fried had with Washington before he was charged with swindling investors out of at least $1.8 billion.

The White House has refused to say whether Biden will give back some of the $5.2 million in donations from the fallen FTX founder gave to his campaign and connected groups in 2020.
