A bunch of women basketball players who most people don’t even know will be representing the US Olympic team in Paris in 2024. Caitlin Clark will not be one of them.

CBS Sports reported (per The Gateway Pundit):

Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark is expected to be left off the Team USA women’s basketball roster for the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris, David Eickholt of 247Sports confirms.

USA Today’s Christine Brennan first reported shortly after midnight Saturday.

Clark became the college basketball all-time leading scorer earlier this year, and she is currently putting up some impressive numbers in the WNBA.

In her first 14 games, she has averaged 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game. She has also already put up two 30-point games — one of them being during the Fever’s 85-83 win over the Washington Mystics in which she reached a career-high seven 3-pointers. With that performance, Clark became the fastest rookie in WNBA history to record 200+ points and 50+ assists.

The Mexican government has funded a lawsuit for illegal migrants in Florida who are facing human smuggling charges and prison time under Gov. Ron DeSantis’s law curbing illegal migration.

DeSantis signed Senate Bill 1718 (SB 1718), into law in May 2023, which requires employers to use an E-verify system to check potential candidates’ employment eligibility, prevents undocumented migrants from receiving a driver’s license, and increases penalties for human smuggling.

After the law went into effect last July, several migrants, including Raquel Lopez Aguilar, 41, were arrested by Florida law enforcement and highway patrol officials. Aguilar has been imprisoned since his arrest for transporting illegal aliens working as roofers and faces up to 20 years in prison, but the Mexican government has been paying for his legal bills, according to the Guardian.

In a 6-1 decision on Thursday, the Florida Supreme Court sided with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) over his controversial removal of State Attorney Monique Worrel from her position in August 2023. DeSantis had accused Worrel of “dereliction of duty” due to her lenient approach to crime, a move that sparked a legal battle when Worrel sued the DeSantis Administration, demanding reinstatement and claiming her firing was an “arbitrary, unsubstantiated exercise of the suspension power.”

The majority opinion of the court firmly rejected Worrel’s arguments, stating, “We cannot agree with Worrel that the allegations in the Executive Order are impermissibly vague, nor that they address conduct that falls within the lawful exercise of prosecutorial discretion.” The court further clarified that a suspension order does not infringe on a state attorney’s lawful exercise of prosecutorial discretion when it alleges that such discretion is not being exercised in individual cases and that generalized policies have resulted in categorical enforcement practices.

As former President Donald Trump continued to fight back against what he called the “rigged” trial and his conviction in New York City, he gained allies to support him. Trump has called out everyone from the prosecutor to the judge in the case and even alleged Democrat connections all the way to the White House.

Donations to Democrats’ election coffers and liberal candidate claims to “get Trump” have been tied to key players who worked overtime to convict the former president. These ties haven’t gone unnoticed by groups that want the truth about the people who convicted a president for the first time in history.

Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) faces a legal challenge to its denial of public records related to the case. If the challenge is successful, the DOJ could be exposed for protecting a Biden loyalist who went after Trump.

From Fox News:
A conservative nonprofit is suing the Department of Justice after it failed to release records requested under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) pertaining to Matthew Colangelo, a key figure in the New York criminal trial of former President Trump.

America First Legal (AFL) alleged in the lawsuit filed Monday that New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg – the lead official in Trump’s prosecution – hired Matthew Colangelo in December 2022 to reportedly “jump-start” his office’s investigation of Trump, reportedly due to Mr. Colangelo’s “history of taking on Donald J. Trump and his family business.”

When liberals and conservatives, two factions often at odds, find common ground on a specific point of contention, it’s a noteworthy event. In an era of deep political division, such alignments are rare and therefore, their occurrence holds significant weight.

It’s a rare sight indeed when a liberal, known for their progressive views, aligns with a conservative and then proceeds to critique his own group. This act of dissent, particularly from prominent liberals, who are challenging the radical extremists dominating the liberal narrative, is a testament to their courage and independent thinking.

Comedian Jon Stewart, a figure known for his liberal views, made a significant statement when he voiced agreement with former President Donald Trump on a controversial issue. His subsequent critique of liberals was delivered with the force of a comedian taking down a heckler in a nightclub, underscoring the gravity of his stance.

From Breitbart:
In a recent appearance on fellow comedian Tom Segura’s podcast, Jon Stewart spoke about the recent guilty verdict in Trump’s business records case in deep-blue New York City.

Stewart agreed with Trump’s repeated contention that the system is “rigged” against him though the comedian disagreed on what to do about it.

“Somebody can be right about a diagnosis and wrong about the remedy. So he can diagnose the system as rigged, and it obviously is,” Stewart said. “The interesting thing is once that gets exposed, a reformer comes in and says, I’m going to straighten this out and make it fairer.”

Former President Donald Trump has faced unprecedented challenges in his bid to regain the White House. He has fended off historic attacks from the leftist mainstream media establishment and legal cases that have created black marks on the nation.

Still, the president understands that what he has faced doesn’t compare to the struggles and pain endured by arguably the Greatest Generation in U.S. history. This generation succeeded against unfathomable destruction and tyranny during World War II. Their accomplishments are celebrated each year on June 6, the anniversary of Allied troops storming into Europe.

During a video call this week, Trump spoke with a group of World War II veterans. The veterans encouraged him, and he made a huge promise to them.

From the Daily Caller:
The former president spoke digitally with veterans Donald Cobb, Steve Melnikoff, George Cross and Harold Radish on the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the Allied Forces’ most notable victory during the war. The president attended the video call while aboard Trump Force One en route to Arizona.

“Well, it’s an honor to listen to you. It’s a real honor,” Trump said. “Go ahead, let me hear. And I have all the time you want. I hope you can hear me okay.”

“I can hear you … stay healthy and keep up a good fight in November,” one veteran said.

“I think we’re going to, and I just want to thank you all, and I’ll make you a deal. I’ll see you in the White House in January, okay? You’ll be my first group. I’ll see you in the White House in January, okay?”

Joe Biden enjoyed some runaway wins in key states during the 2020 presidential election, which helped him slip into the White House. He and Democrats have maintained that the incumbent can win those states again going into the 2024 presidential race.

What Joe and the Democrats didn’t expect after all the attacks from the media and legal cases against Trump is the fact the former president has gained ground heading into the November vote. As Biden mumbled and stumbled in the public eye, Trump gained ground against the incumbent across voter demographics and in crucial swing states.

It is unlikely that Biden and his team expected to gain so much ground with voters, especially in states where Biden won going away in the last presidential cycle. Virginia is one of the most crucial swing states to win, and Biden has watched his 2020 standing with voters erode before his eyes.

Joe Biden has created the most chaotic border crisis that no one could have imagined when he first took office. More than 7 million people have flooded the country with little to no oversight from the U.S. government regarding where these people relocate.

The judicial system charged with processing, monitoring, and even convicting illegal immigrants is feckless at best and complicit at worse with Biden’s plans to repopulate the U.S. Tens of thousands of convicted criminals from other nations are now inside the country, and many have committed crimes against U.S. citizens.

And, according to one former Washington, D.C. insider, what happens next could be more disturbing than anyone could expect. Biden’s open border policy has attracted bad actors from around the world who want to cause destruction on U.S. soil.

The Bezos Earth Fund, a philanthropic organization backed by multi-billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, has committed $100 million to facilitate the development of alternative protein products as he interferes with food production in the name of climate extremism.

The fund has partnered with North Carolina State University (NC State) to establish the Bezos Center for Sustainable Protein, which will receive $30 million over five years to build a research and development hub for fake meat products and components.

The center will focus on developing plant-based products, fermented cells that can be used in food products, and lab-grown meat from cultivated animal cells. It aims to advance alternative protein production and commercialization to address the projected global protein supply gap in the coming decades.

Webmaster addition: In the old west, the Native Americans lived primarily on buffalo meat. But the cattle ranchers wanted the Native Americans to buy their meat from the ranchers. So the ranchers hired hunters to slaughter the buffalo and remove it as a competing food source. The same thing is being done today. All naturally produced food is being eliminated to force dependence on corporations that make synthetic foods.

President Joe Biden’s recent trip to France to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day invasion has been marred by accusations of plagiarism. During his speech at Pointe du Hoc on Friday, Biden appeared to have lifted passages directly from Ronald Reagan’s famous address delivered at the same location 40 years ago.

The similarities between the two speeches were striking, leading many to question whether Biden’s team had intentionally copied Reagan’s words in an attempt to capture the same oratorical magic and political impact. Just a day before Biden’s speech, Politico reported that the president’s aides were openly studying Reagan’s 1984 trip and looking to “take from Reagan’s playbook” for a breakthrough moment in Normandy.

According to the report, Biden’s team was eager to follow Reagan’s example both oratorically and politically, hoping to capture the attention of a distracted and disillusioned public and remind them of the stakes at hand. The Democratic president’s aides even conceded that they had closely studied Reagan’s trip and aimed to emulate his success in paying homage to the climactic battles for freedom and democracy.

However, what may have been intended as a tribute to Reagan’s iconic speech has instead backfired, drawing criticism and rekindling memories of Biden’s past plagiarism scandals. During his first year in law school, Biden was accused of plagiarizing a law review article, and his 1988 presidential campaign was derailed by multiple accusations of lifting passages from the speeches of John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy and former Labour Party leader Neil Kinnock.

Germany is helping to fan the flames of the Ukraine conflict by allowing Kiev to launch long-range strikes into Russia, veteran left-wing politician Sahra Wagenknecht has said.

Wagenknecht made the remarks at a rally in Berlin on Thursday ahead of European Parliament elections. The theme of the Ukraine conflict featured prominently at the demonstration, which was attended by hundreds of the politician’s supporters carrying banners bearing Wagenknecht’s face and the words “War or peace? It’s your choice now.”

The firebrand, who earlier this year split from the Left Party to form the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) – a party that is left-leaning on economic issues but closer to the far-right on several hot-button issues such as immigration – blasted German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s government over its Ukraine policy.

The recent decision by Washington and its allies in Europe to allow Kiev to use Western-supplied weapons for long-range strikes deep into Russian territory shows that Ukraine’s backers “do not want peace,” Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said on Saturday.

His was referring to a recent series of statements from the US, UK, Germany, and other Western nations, in which their leaders said that Kiev can now use weapons supplied by them in strikes targeting internationally recognized Russian territory.

Earlier this week, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called the move a way to ensure peace, claiming that Russia’s potential success on the battlefield is the biggest threat to peace on the continent.

The Kremlin responded to the Western statements by accusing NATO of provoking a new “round of tensions.” In May, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that using long-range weapons against Russia would have “serious consequences” for the West.

The German government has finalized new plans for a potential war, including reinstatement of compulsory military service and deployment of NATO troops on its eastern flank, citing rising concerns over perceived threats from Russia.

The country’s new defense framework was approved by Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s cabinet on Wednesday, replacing guidelines that dated back to 1989. “As a result of Russian aggression, we have a completely changed security situation in Europe,” Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said in a statement.

The new defense plan spells out such details as mandatory conscription and forcing manufacturers to produce only war goods. Parts of the country could be evacuated, and subway stations, underground parking lots, and other subterranean facilities would be used as temporary shelters.

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko is now listed as a wanted person in Russia, according to the Interior Ministry’s database. She currently leads the opposition Fatherland (Batkivshchyna) party in the parliament.

The bulletin on the 63-year-old veteran Ukrainian politician, who has run for president three times, entered the media spotlight on Friday, though it only said that Timoshenko “is wanted under an article of the Criminal Code,” without providing further details.

Timoshenko served as Ukraine’s prime minister for several months in 2005 after co-leading a series of protests known as the ‘Orange Revolution’, sparked by the disputed results of the 2004 presidential election. The upheaval resulted in the victory of Viktor Yushchenko, a NATO- and Western-leaning presidential candidate.

The EU's foreign policy chief has faced days of increasing backlash over his controversial remarks on geopolitics.

After days of mounting international backlash, Josep Borrell, the European Union's outspoken foreign policy chief, has apologised for his controversial remarks in which he described Europe as an idyllic "garden" of prosperity and the rest of the world as mostly a "jungle."

"Some have misinterpreted the metaphor as 'colonial Euro-centrism'," Borrell wrote in a blog post on Tuesday evening. "I am sorry if some have felt offended."

But he did not reject the figure of speech and instead doubled down on it, arguing the term jungle is an apt illustration of the lawlessness and disorder that currently rule world politics.

The concepts of hegemony and global dominance, which the Collective West clings to, have no place in the multipolar world order – which is already becoming a reality, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Saturday.

Speaking at a panel discussion on new norms of international relations at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Zakharova slammed Western governments for resisting the structural changes which have already started with regard to the self-organization of nations and their interactions with other states.

“We are talking about polycentrism, a departure from previous norms, and we see the desperate resistance of the Collective West... They see the norm differently – as their own dominance, as a world order based on one rule – that they must dominate as before, and everyone must do only what the dominant allows them to do,” she stated, adding that the drive for dominance has only ever “led humanity to monstrous tragedies,” including colonialism and Nazism.

The West is “within centimeters of a direct conflict” with Russia, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has warned, noting that both the EU and US need pro-peace forces to replace those currently in power in order to avoid this scenario.

In an interview with TV2 on Friday, just two days before the European Parliament elections, Orban said that with all the discussions regarding sending additional weapons and even troops to Ukraine, the West “is on a straight road to war.”

The prime minister noted that when the conflict began in 2022, most EU countries, including Germany, vowed to only send non-lethal aid to Kiev, such as helmets – and “there was no question of supplying equipment suitable for killing human life to the Ukrainians.” Since then, however, the Western powers have supplied Kiev with a wide range of weaponry and ammunition.

Hamburg MP Olga Petersen has sought refuge in Russia, telling Bild that she feared having her children taken by the German state over her perceived support for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Petersen left Hamburg with her children last month, prompting widespread speculation about her whereabouts. Several weeks before her disappearance, her party – the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) – expelled her from its Hamburg faction for traveling to Russia as an election observer in March and declaring the vote “open, democratic, and free.”

Alexander Brod, a member of the Russian Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights, told TASS last week that Petersen had settled in Russia with three of her four kids.

Petersen broke her silence on Friday. “I have indeed taken my children out of the country,” she told Bild. “I want to know that my children are safe and that they remain in my care. Without my children, I would no longer see any meaning in life.”
