Thought for the day

"In whatever arena of life one may meet the challenge of Courage, whatever may be the sacrifices he faces if he follows his conscience – the loss of his friends, his fortune, his contentment, even the esteem of his fellow men – each man must decide for himself the course he will follow. The stories of past courage can define that ingredient – they can teach, they can offer hope, they can provide inspiration. But they cannot supply courage itself. For this each man must look into his own soul." -- Profiles in Courage

Ukrainian service members have been deserting their positions in the special military operation zone after a statement by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen who earlier this week revealed the number of Ukrainian losses over the past nine months, Andrey Marochko, an officer with the Lugansk People’s Republic’s (LPR) People’s Militia, said on Friday, citing intelligence data.

According to him, the scandal over the losses sustained by Ukraine in the course of the special military operation that was provoked by von der Leyen’s remark affected very negatively the morale of Ukrainian troops. "There has been increasingly more saboteurs and people deserting their positions [in the special operation zone], as well as more wrangling with commanders and hazing. Incidents of taking drugs and alcohol have also increased. Besides, social tensions have grown sharply in Ukraine," Marochko said. The families of Ukrainian service people have been storming military commissariats in their cities, defying the risk of arrest.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza has held a press conference near the Israeli controlled Erez crossing in northern Gaza. The aim was to demand the entry of badly needed medical equipment and diagnostic devices into the blockaded Gaza Strip.

The Israeli regime refuses to allow the entry of medical equipment as well as spare parts for devices that are needed to treat thousands of patients in Gaza. Hospitals in the besieged coastal territory are in dire need of such equipment.

Gaza’s health sector has been suffering under years of the Israeli blockade. Israel refuses to allow new medical equipment as well as spare parts to fix vital equipment especially those that are needed to treat cancer patients and diagnose severe illnesses.

The territory’s biggest medical center, Gaza's Shifa hospital, is struggling to provide health services due to lack of medical equipment. Hundreds of medical devices are currently out of order due to lack of spare parts.

The head of Basij volunteer forces says the Islamic Republic of Iran successfully managed to thwart hybrid war planned by 47 foreign spy agencies during the recent foreign-backed riots in the country.

Addressing an event in the capital Tehran on Wednesday, Brigadier General Gholamreza Soleimani spoke about recent deadly riots in the country, which claimed many innocent lives, including those of security forces.

“Forty-seven spy agencies launched an all-out hybrid war against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he said, adding that “disappointed with face-to-face war,” the enemy opted for “hybrid war” using media and psychological operations to deceive the Iranian nation into going with their tide.

Two former American diplomats have called on the administration of US President Joe Biden to no longer provide offensive weapons or military aid to Israel’s new regime, expressing fear that the far-right extremists would further aggravate the situation in the occupied cities of al-Quds and the West Bank.

Former US ambassador to Israel, Daniel Kurtzer, and former US State Department negotiator, Aaron David Miller, made the remarks in an opinion article published in the Washington post on Wednesday, following the victory of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the general election early this month.

Kurtzer and Miller-- who have worked on the so-called Palestinian-Israeli peace process--further stressed that while Washington should continue to support Tel Aviv's "legitimate security needs," it should oppose efforts to change the status of the West Bank, the al-Aqsa Mosque Compound and illegal settlement outposts.

They also expressed concern that the incoming regime will increase settlement activity, settler violence and allow the use of force by the Israeli security forces, arguing that such actions would lead to the end of the two-state solution.

A Chinese government propaganda outlet is quietly pushing content about U.S. politics over TikTok even as U.S. officials work with its Chinese ownership to address mounting national security concerns.

Some in the U.S. government have long warned that TikTok, the first foreign social media service to take hold in the country, could be used by the Chinese Communist Party to spy on American data or influence culture through content recommendations.

The U.S. is currently negotiating a contract with TikTok aimed at resolving national security concerns without requiring its Beijing-based owner, ByteDance, to sell the hugely popular app, as reported by the New York Times.

Now Forbes has revealed an account racking up millions of views with politically charged coverage of U.S. news, and it’s run by a U.S.-based branch of the CCP’s main TV broadcaster, China Central Television.

Webmaster addition: The whole idea of freedom of speech is to allow people to speak to try and influence their fellow citizens politically, especially when it comes to elections. That's the whole point of that amendment. If the US tries to stop people from  sharing their political views, that is a violation of the First Amendment that delegitimizes the whole government! As for China, it is hypocritical for the United States, which regularly interferes in foreign nations' politics, to point fingers!

A German nurse was accused of injecting more than 10,000 patients with saline solution rather than the COVID-19 vaccine.

She was sentenced to 6 months probation this week.

The nurse was identified as Antje T, the 40-year-old Red Cross nurse from the German district of Friesland.

It is still unclear how many who were injected with the saline eventually came down with COVID-19.

Look for authorities to hide this number from the public.

Imagine if the Mexican army started bombarding American ex-pats living in Mexico with heavy artillery-rounds killing thousands and leaving thousands more wounded. What do you think Joe Biden would do?

Would he brush it off like a big nothingburger and move on or would he threaten the Mexican government with a military invasion that would obliterate the Mexican Army, level their biggest cities, and send the government running for cover?

Which of these two options do you think Biden would choose?

There’s no doubt what Biden would do nor is there any question what the 45 presidents who preceded him would do. No US leader would ever stand by and do nothing while thousands of Americans were savagely slaughtered by a foreign government. That just wouldn’t happen. They’d all respond quickly and forcefully.

But if that’s true, then why isn’t the same standard applied to Russia? Isn’t the situation in Ukraine nearly identical?

The high cost of living crisis in the United Kingdom has prompted Britons in some cities to eat pet food.

British media reported on Thursday that people were “eating pet food” because they can’t afford real food anymore.

According to the report, parts of Wales were hit so hard by poverty that people were forced to stoop to the lowest levels to just feed their families.

The American leadership intends to work closely with Europe, helping it diversify energy resources and transition to clean energy in the future, US President Joe Biden said.

At a joint press conference with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron following the meeting at the White House, Biden stressed that the United States will work in close partnership with the European Union. "The United States is helping Europe to diversify its energy resources and abandon Russian natural gas in the near future," he stressed. In his opinion, this will accelerate the transition to environmentally friendly energy sources.

Earlier, US Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Jeffrey Pyatt said that the United States supplies 70 percent of all exported American liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Europe. According to him, Washington is mobilizing its LNG export resources to meet the needs of Europe.

A representative of the French Foreign Ministry said that he was preparing, together with his European and Ukrainian partners, to create a tribunal to investigate Russia's actions in Ukraine. According to him, the work has already begun.

"We have started working with our European and Ukrainian partners," RT quotes him as saying.

In addition, according to the representative of the French Foreign Ministry, France supports the investigation of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, conducted with the participation of the Ukrainian side. He believes that it is necessary to bring to justice those responsible for war crimes.

The United States is instigating violations of international law by its speculations about the need for resuming the production of military equipment in Europe under Soviet licenses for subsequent supplies to Ukraine, the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation said on its website.

The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in an interview with CNN on November 30, came up with an idea of resuming the production of Soviet-designed combat systems at enterprises of the countries once affiliated with the former Warsaw Treaty Organization in order to supply these weapons to Kiev. As the service said, within the framework of cooperation with the USSR, the member-states of the Warsaw Treaty Organization did receive fraternal assistance in organizing the production of Soviet models of weapons and military equipment on their territory.

Washington and Paris reaffirm their support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and will continue to provide assistance to Kiev "as long as it takes," according to a joint statement adopted at a meeting between Presidents Joe Biden of the United States and Emmanuel Macron of France on Thursday.

Biden and Macron reaffirmed "their nations’ continued support for Ukraine’s defense of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, including the provision of political, security, humanitarian, and economic assistance to Ukraine for as long as it takes." "This includes the provision of significant resources to support Ukrainian civilian resilience through the winter, including stepping up the delivery of air defense systems and equipment needed to repair Ukraine’s energy grid," the document said.

The US and France "also intend to continue providing robust direct budget support for Ukraine, and to urge the international financial institutions to scale up their financial support."

It’s safe to say the world has gotten used to mind-blowing statements coming from the detached Kiev regime, as this has become their common theme. Apart from boastful claims of supposed “victories” of the Neo-Nazi junta forces against the Russian military, talks of how much financial assistance is necessary is the usual topic in Kiev. The regime frontman Volodymyr Zelensky is never tired of demanding yet another few billion dollars (euros and pounds are good enough, too) per month to support the political West’s favorite puppet regime. However, his most recent statements make every other demand look entirely “reasonable”. Namely, the Kiev regime frontman now wants over $1 trillion for the supposed “reconstruction” of the country.

During a video address on November 29, Zelensky stated that it would cost more than $1 trillion to “rebuild” Ukraine. If the number sounds astounding, that’s quite expected, given that it’s over five times the country’s 2021 GDP. However, even this sounds laughable when the second requirement is listed – this “reconstruction” plan would come into effect only after the military superpower with over 6,000 thermonuclear warheads next door is somehow “defeated”. Many have ignored Zelensky’s mind-boggling statements regarding this matter, but he keeps insisting that this is precisely what the Kiev regime needs.

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has said federal officials could seek to launch a review into billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk’s recent purchase of Twitter if it were deemed to carry national security risks.

Speaking at an event hosted by the New York Times on Wednesday, Yellen claimed she “misspoke” when she said there was “no basis” to investigate Musk or his finances during an interview earlier this month, now clarifying that the government could take that step after all.

“I’m not going to say specifically what we are looking at. We don’t comment on what’s in progress,” she said, but added the Treasury “does look at transactions that involve foreign investments in the United States to see if they create national security risk.”

The Lebanese parliament on Thursday failed for the eighth consecutive time to elect a new president, as a majority of lawmakers continue to oppose the options laid on the table.

During the first round of voting on Thursday, 111 votes were cast in the 128-seat parliament, with 52 lawmakers casting blank votes, while 37 voted in support of Michel Moawad, the son of the late president René Moawad

The 37 votes cast for Moawad are a drop from last week’s session, when 42 lawmakers voted for the candidate who is backed by the anti-Hezbollah bloc made up of the Lebanese Forces (LF) party, the Progressive Socialist Party (PSP), the Kataeb party, and a few ‘independent’ lawmakers.

Some lawmakers even wrote in mock choices on their ballots, with one vote cast for Brazil’s socialist president-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Following the voting session, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri announced that a ninth attempt to elect a president will take place next week.

The Lebanese presidency, which has been reserved for the country’s Christian Maronite sect since the National Pact of 1943, has remained empty since the end of Michel Aoun’s term in September after six years in power.

Western nations’ commitment to “net zero” CO2 emissions is one of the greatest follies in world history. It is not just the fossil fuel industries that are under attack by liberals–although that would be bad enough, since it is fossil fuels that have created the modern world. They are the reason we are not going around in donkey carts. But it gets worse: agriculture is in the crosshairs, too.

We have seen it in Sri Lanka, where the government mandated “organic” farming and as a result, the Prime Minister’s residence was stormed by a mob and he was forced to flee the country. We have seen it in Canada and in the Netherlands, where the government is making war on that country’s highly successful ag industry. In fact, the Netherlands is second only to the U.S. in the value of food exports. But not for long: its government is moving to shut down farms.

Most natural health advocates do not believe in the allopathic approach, also known as Western Medicine, for addressing immunity against viruses, bacteria, pathogens and parasites. Because of this stance, Big Pharma likes to label us as “conspiracy theorists” and “anti-vaxxers,” among other false labels. Those labels don’t seem like enough torture anymore, so the pill pushers and vaccine zealots are now labeling healthy folks as mentally ill, simply because we don’t comply with vaccine and medication mandates, or this latest push for everyone to mutilate their genitalia in the name of “LGBTTIQQ2SA” gender fluidity, or something like that.

In Canada, Big Pharma Ontario wants to put every Canadian who is fully unvaccinated on psychiatric medications for being “mentally ill” for not desiring to have millions of toxic spike prions clogging their vascular system and cleansing organs. Doctors in Canada are literally being advised to consider medicating all patients who are fully unvaccinated with dangerous psychiatric SSRI drugs right now.

The College of Physicians and Surgeons put out that request in writing, suggesting anyone who denies the clot shots is suffering from mental illness. It sounds like these doctors are all suffering from Vaccine Derangement Syndrome themselves, or they know the truth about the immune-compromising gene-mutating jabs and just want to create more patients-for-life.

So far, it’s just a “suggestion,” like the Covid masks at the beginning of 2020, and then the quarantines, and then the vaccine passports, and then kidney-decimating Remdesivir, and then the choke-you-to-death-in-less-than-4-days ventilators.

The Inflation Reduction Act gives the IRS an additional $80 billion to hire 87,000 more agents with the hope of bringing in about $200 billion in additional tax revenues over the next 10 years. But in 2021 alone, the federal government spent $279 billion of taxpayers’ money on improper payments.

This glaring double standard—cracking down on taxpayers who have to navigate a 7,000-page tax code as the federal government fails miserably at making the proper payments in the programs it designs and administers itself—shouldn’t exist.

At a cost of more than $2,000 per household, Americans are paying more for bureaucrats to send faulty payments—to the wrong people or in the wrong amounts—than they are for some of the core functions of the federal government.

NASA's Artemis 1 Orion spacecraft is coming home.

The uncrewed Orion spacecraft successfully completed a lunar departure burn on Thursday (Dec. 1) to begin heading home after successful moon orbits. The burn began at 4:54 p.m. EST (2154 GMT) and lasted just under two minutes, according to NASA Television commentator Shaneequa Vereen.

"Orion has had a successful and nominal, 1 minute and 45 second, distant retrograde orbit departure burn," Vereen announced during the agency's broadcast of the burn. The spacecraft's solar panels could be seen gently rocking back and forth on NASA Television's live broadcast as a "tiny Earth" glowed in the background.

Orion now begins its ten-day trek home. If all goes according to plan, the capsule will splash down in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California on Dec. 11. NASA and the United States Navy have already begun training for the recovery operation that will mark the end of the Artemis 1 mission.

The Chagos Islands may be little more than specks in the middle of the Indian Ocean, but they are at the center of a looming diplomatic row over a key American military base and the rise of Chinese power.

Lawmakers on both sides of the Atlantic have raised fears that the British government's decision to begin negotiations to hand over the islands to Mauritius could allow China the chance to build its own military facility on the archipelago — right under the nose of American forces at Diego Garcia.

The issue is one of the most important strategic locations in the Indian Ocean, from where U.S. B1 and B52 bombers can reach maritime chokepoints, vital sea lanes and even potential Chinese bases everywhere from Djibouti to Pakistan

superficial take of today's jobs report would note that both jobs and earnings "blew past expectations, flying in the face of Fed rate hikes", and while that is accurate at the headline level, it couldn't be further from the truth if one actually digs a little deeper in today's jobs numbers.

Recall that back in AugustSeptember, and October we showed that a stark divergence had opened between the Household and Establishment surveys that comprise the monthly jobs report, and since March the former has been stagnant while the latter has been rising every single month. In addition to that, full-time jobs were plunging while part-time jobs were surging and the number of multiple-jobholders soared.

Fast forward to today when the inconsistencies not only continue to grow, but have become  downright grotesque.

There’s an idea rooted among some libertarians that the Federal Reserve was originally a sound institution but has grown corrupt. As a bankers’ bank, it was fine, they believe, but not as the monster it has grown to be. If we could only go back to the Fed’s founding charter, all would be well.

I’m thinking of two well-known financial analysts who are unsurpassed in their analytical brilliance and knowledge of markets and who rightly regard the bureaucratic Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) as the father of bubbles, busts, stagnation, and market privilege. In their articles, Peter Schiff and David Stockman hammer the Fed relentlessly and rightfully for its cluelessness, corruption, and threat to our material and spiritual well-being. They have authored engaging bestsellers on the state of the economy and place blame where it belongs, on the monetary policies of the Federal Reserve.

Yet, strangely, their recommendations stop short of eradicating the cancer altogether. They want the Fed reformed, not abolished. In each case they believe the Fed in its infancy was an institution compatible with free markets. Peter Schiff writes:

The role of a central bank is limited: to control the currency so as to keep prices and interest rates fairly stable. . . . This sort of central bank is one I could have supported. But the Federal Reserve Bank of the United States never functioned this way, and it probably was never meant to. . . . We never should have trusted the Fed to respect its boundaries.

He adds,

The ultimate destroyer of the U.S. dollar was the Federal Reserve System, which was supposed to be the guardian of the currency. As I discussed in chapter 2, the original idea of the Fed was a good one: providing a uniform currency backed by gold.

The European Union reached a deal on Friday to cap Russian oil at $60 a barrel, paving the way for G7 nations to launch an 'unprecedented mechanism,' as the Wall Street Journal reports.

The move came after overcoming a last-minute push by Poland to lower the cap, for which the European Commission had originally proposed between $65 and $70 per barrel. In short, the EU came down to Poland's price, which had become a point of contention for more than a week..

The cap - designed to punish Russia financially for invading Ukraine, while still allowing enough oil into the market, is significantly below benchmark Brent prices, which traded around $86 a barrel Friday morning, but bear in mind that Urals crude trades basically around these levels...

The United States Department of Health and Human Services has expressed support for using taxpayer funds to cover the cost of body mutilating "gender transition" surgeries for minors.

In written responses to Rep. Mary Miller, R-Ill., U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra said that the Biden administration supports using taxpayer dollars to cover the costs of elective body-deforming surgeries on youth, such as mastectomies and vaginoplasties. His responses were submitted Tuesday to the U.S. House Committee on Education and Labor Tuesday.

Becerra responded to a series of questions inquiring as to whether the administration believes “taxpayers should pay for chemical castration and sex-change operations” and if “doctors should be forced to perform sex change operations on minor children without their parents’ consent.” He responded, “The Department follows the law, and is working to ensure that all patients, everywhere can access care free from discrimination, stigma and barriers.”

The Starwood Capital-backed company listed assets and liabilities of approximately $10 billion each in the Chapter 11 filing. The bankruptcy classification will allow the firm to continue operating while they work on a plan to repay creditors.

The New Georgia Project had $11 million in its investment account in August when it set out to pay $2.45 million in cash for a sprawling Atlanta compound. Less than two months later, the organization dismissed half its leadership staff, citing a lack of funds.

A series of internal documents and correspondences obtained by the Washington Free Beacon reveals the bizarre circumstances surrounding the real estate deal, which several parties close to the matter say are indicative of a leadership crisis within the Stacey Abrams-founded group. The deal was spearheaded by Erin Ferguson, a junior New Georgia Project staffer who in a group text urged senior leadership in late August to sign a letter of intent to purchase the two adjacent properties and swiftly pay a $30,000 non-refundable deposit.

But a former New Georgia Project senior executive told the Free Beacon that the rush to purchase the properties was strange, noting that the buildings needed at least $288,000 in repairs to be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The group was already locked into a $15,000-per-month lease at its current office through 2025, the former senior executive said.

Senator Rand Paul: There is no public figure or public health figure who has made a greater error in judgment than Dr. Fauci. The error in judgment was to fund gain of function rsearch in a totalitarian country. Fund research that allowed them to create super viruses that accidentally leaked into the public and caused 7 million people to die. Think about it. This is right up there with decisions, some of them malevolent or military to kill millions of people. This accidental goes to judgment. Talk about errors? You think he might apologize to the world for funding research that allowed super viruses to be created in a lab, a lab that was not properly outfitted for safety that people were already reporting was dangerous, to support that type of research and then looking away and saying “nothing to see here!”

In April 2022, engineer Chris Gleason began working on his first data project involving elections.  The project was tied to the 2022 midterm election.  This was unique for Chris because he had been involved in tech and data for the majority of his adult career although he never used his expertise on a political project.

The goal was to determine who was most likely to vote for which candidate and how likely they were to support particular candidates and causes.

What he and a small group of others determined was that Washington State had a massive network of campaign finance mules.  They identified massive numbers of registered voters in Washington State who were making thousands of donations to Democrat party candidates nationwide and progressive PACs.  The individual donation amounts were not large. These donations were small and had been intentionally set up to avoid throwing up reg flags.
