Speaker Mike Johnson insisted legislation to make voters prove their citizenship could be one of the 'most important' bills to go through Congress in a lifetime.

The SAVE Act aims to force election officials to verify citizenship in elections. It's not yet clear when it will come up for a vote.

Johnson, speaking alongside Trump world heavyweights Stephen Miller and Hogan Gidley and Rep. Chip Roy, did not give a full accounting of how many non-citizens have voted in elections, but warned the number could be 'dangerously high.'

'We all know, intuitively, that a lot of illegals are voting in federal elections. But it's not been something that is easily provable. We don't have that number. This legislation will allow us to do exactly that.'

Non-citizens who vote in federal and state elections are already breaking the law and putting themselves at risk of jail or deportation. A small handful of municipalities in California, Maryland and Vermont allow illegal immigrants to vote in local elections

Webmaster addition:  U.S. Code, Title 18, Section 611, makes it a crime for non-citizens to vote in federal elections, and violations can result in fines, imprisonment, or deportation.

A bill that extends the authority of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) expires Friday, but lawmakers are still trying to attach their pet projects into the legislation.

The FAA bill is set to expire Friday evening at midnight, but the House stepped in to pass a one-week extension Wednesday, leaving the rest up to the Senate.

However, if a short-term extension isn't cleared through the Senate by Friday, airports across the country would slam to a halt as funding for air traffic controllers and other critical aviation roles could run out.

Further complicating the matter, the FAA reauthorization is one of the last must-pass bills that Congress has to address this year.

As a result, Democrats and Republicans are trying to attach amendments to the already 1,000-page bill to secure funding for their personal 'pet projects.'

Republicans will move to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress, DailyMail.com confirmed, after the Department of Justice refused to hand over audio tapes of Joe Biden's interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur.

The attorney general had until April 8 to hand over requested materials from Robert Hur's interviews with Biden that led him to conclude the president is 'elderly' and 'well-meaning' but has a 'poor memory.'

They subpoenaed transcripts, notes, audio and video files largely related to Hur's interview.

While the DOJ has handed over transcripts of Hur's interviews with Biden as well as the transcript and audio recordings of an interview with Biden's ghostwriter Mark Zwonitzer, Republicans are unsatisfied.

They have insisted they need audio from Hur's interview too.

But nearly a month after the deadline to send the audio tapes passed, the House Judiciary Committee is now moving to hold Garland in contempt of Congress, DailyMail.com confirmed.

In early April, at the six-month mark of the Israel-Hamas war, numerous headlines focused on Israel's international isolation.

A headline in The Guardian blared: "Isolated abroad, torn apart at home," while the Associated Press declared somberly that "After six months of war, Israel's isolation grows." For creative competition, Reuters ran "Six months into Gaza war, Israel faces deepening isolation."

The examples were alarming. Israel has faced proceedings against it in the International Court of Justice; the UN Security Council passed a cease-fire resolution in late March; and even Israel's allies were emitting signals of disapproval. The United States, Israel's greatest ally and patron, conveyed a strong preference for Israel to change course – abstaining in the Security Council vote, sanctioning some settlers, and issuing angry statements particularly regarding the humanitarian situation in Gaza and Israel's strike that killed seven World Central Kitchen aid workers. Individual countries and the European Parliament have voted on various measures calling on Israel to change course.

April may have felt unusually cold but the Met Office has suggested it may all be in your head.

Although it has felt unseasonably cold all month, dominating conversation and causing havoc with the transition to a spring/summer wardrobe, April has in fact been warmer than the UK average.

The UK mean temperature for April so far is running at 0.7C above the long-term average from 1991 to 2020, making it relatively warm by comparison with the last 30 years, the Met Office said.

Graham Madge, spokesman for the Met Office, said April “certainly won’t be regarded as a cold month meteorologically”.

Shark Tank star and investor Kevin O’Leary said that former President Donald Trump’s $350 million-plus fraud ruling is making him rethink investing in the “mega loser state” of New York.

“I’m not different than any other investor. I’m shocked at this. I can’t even understand or fathom the decision at all. There’s no rationale for it,” O’Leary said during an interview on Fox Business Network’s “Cavuto Coast To Coast.”

“It does not matter what the governor says. New York was already a loser state, like California is a loser state there are many loser states because of policy, high taxes, uncompetitive regulation it was already on the top of the list to be the loser state. I would never invest in New York now. I’m not the only person saying that,” O’Leary said.

Israel and its supporters are frightened by the public outpouring of support for and solidarity towards the Palestinian people living in Gaza at American college and university campuses – so much so that they just sent a letter to the United States Congress demanding the passage of a new censorship law.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) in coordination with the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations is demanding that Congress renew special provisions in the controversial FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) to allow for the silencing of anyone who in any way criticizes Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

Infamously described as “the biggest expansion of domestic surveillance since the Patriot Act,” the new FISA bill being pushed by the Jewish lobby contains added language that would basically criminalize free speech that upsets Zionists. It also compels “an enormous range” of U.S. businesses to start acting as NSA (National Security Agency) spies on behalf of Israel.

Many Americans have no idea that the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations even sent the letter, nor are they aware of the legislation being pushed. Once word gets out, there is likely to be a major outpouring of opposition to it – so do your part to spread the word in defense of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which is under attack by the Jewish lobby.

Hillary Clinton’s feminist Broadway musical Suffs is struggling at the box office despite receiving a bounty of Tony Award nominations and an outpouring of adulatory coverage from the mainstream news media.

Suffs — a nearly three-hour musical about the rise of the suffragette movement, featuring a cast comprised entirely of women and gender “non-binary” performers — played to 81 percent capacity last week, while dipping to 78 percent capacity the week before, according to data from The Broadway League.

Those figures spell potential trouble for a new show that should still be drawing big crowds during Broadway’s peak season — the month before the Tony Awards.

To put the Suffs numbers in perspective, the new Broadway musical Lempicka just posted a closing notice after playing to 83 percent capacity last week.

Fox News legal analyst and George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley blasted New York Judge Juan Merchan for losing control of the courtroom following Tuesday’s disastrous testimony of adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Daniels on Tuesday gave testimony about her alleged affair with former President Donald Trump. Trump’s lawyer objected to her testimony and asked Merchan not to allow her to testify on the intimate details of their alleged affair. Merchan, however, overruled that defense’s objection.

Following Daniels' testimony, her former attorney Michael Avenatti posted a scathing statement on X. Avenatti, who had been disbarred and is currently serving time in a federal penitentiary, claimed Daniels had committed the same crime Trump was being accused of in the case.

He explained that he was contacted last year by a producer working on a documentary about Daniels. He had considered participating in the documentary until he learned that Daniels was getting paid for it, calling it "a clear indication to me that the project lacked integrity, would be one-sided, and controlled by Daniels."

Additionally, Avenatti claimed that the producer told him that Daniels was going to be "secretly paid" to hide the money because "she owed Trump hundreds of thousands of dollars" following a defamation suit.

"Among other things, [the producer] told me that they had fictionally 'optioned' the rights to Daniels' book and then routed the money Daniels demanded through a fabricated 'trust' that had been set-up in the name of Daniels' daughter — all to hide the money from Trump and avoid paying the judgment," Avenatti wrote.

He added that if the information he was told was accurate, "How can DA Bragg possibly rely on the testimony of Daniels, who is herself guilty of fraud and recently falsifying business records to cover-up a crime (i.e. fraudulent transfer and wire fraud)?"

Just as Russia had started to bring back some refinery capacity damaged by Ukrainian drone attacks earlier this year, a new wave of drone attacks hit a major refinery owned by Rosneft, for a second time.

Rosneft’s Ryazan refinery southeast of Moscow caught fire after the overnight drone attack, an anonymous Ukrainian military source with knowledge of the situation told Bloomberg News on Wednesday.

The refinery in the region of Ryazan, whose main city of the same name is some 120 miles southeast of Moscow, was first attacked by drones in the middle of March. The first attack also led to a fire.

This year, Ukraine has stepped up attacks on oil refineries in Russia, which have reduced Russian refining capacity, and, reportedly, have the White House concerned about rising international prices.

The United States has repeatedly urged Ukraine to halt its drone attacks on Russian oil refineries due to Washington’s assessment that the strikes could lead to Russian retaliation and push up global oil prices, the Financial Times reported in March, citing sources familiar with the exchange.

Yet another little-known policy implemented by President Joe Biden last year allows migrants in the U.S. on parole to serve as sponsors for other parolees – and border hawks are not happy with the revelation.

While the number of migrants in the country who are only allowed in because they are being supported by other parolees is unknown, it's thought at least hundreds of thousands could be utilizing this policy.

Any migrants on Temporary Protected Status (TPS) or in the U.S. on asylum claims, as well as parolees, refugees and recipients of deferred action, Deferred Enforced Departure or DACA are all able to serve as the support for other migrant parolees, according to policies implemented in January 2023.

This creates a 'chain parolee' system where parolees are able to bring into the U.S. other parolees by promising to financially support and sponsor them.
