Nearly 200 mobile devices were used by those who visited Jeffrey Epstein’s infamous “pedoph*le island” in the years leading up to his death left. The cell-phone signals left an undetectable trail of data going back to the visitors’ homes and businesses.

Maps of these visits were created by a controversial multinational data broker with military sector links, Wired reported. Those trails show the repeated excursions of affluent and prominent persons who seemed unconcerned with Epstein’s position as a convicted sex offender.

Near Intelligence, a location data broker embroiled in allegations of mismanagement and fraud, has gathered data that reveals with high precision the residences of many guests of Little Saint James, a property in the United States Virgin Islands where Epstein is accused of grooming, assaulting, and trafficking numerous women and girls.

Members of the Hollywood elite are furious as squatters continue to host “massive parties” after taking over a $4.5 million Beverly Grove home, which is located just outside Beverly Hills and Bel Aire.

According to USA Today, the Beverly Hills neighborhood of Hollywood celebrities, producers, executives, and other wealthy residents has been plagued by squatters who moved into an empty house in October and started hosting “massive parties” with “cocaine and orgies.” The New York Magazine’s Curbed reported that the squatting issue has led neighbors, including NBA star LeBron James, to complain about the behavior of the squatters and the condition of the neighborhood.

An anonymous Hollywood producer recently complained to The New York Magazine’s Curbed, asking, “Who the f-ck are these people squatting in the most exclusive Zip Code in America?”

Supermarkets and high street stores risk penalising older and vulnerable shoppers by reserving their best deals for customers who use smartphone apps, experts have warned. Major retailers are increasingly encouraging shoppers to download apps to access special deals and lower prices, which are only available to members of their loyalty schemes. Four out of five shoppers are a member of at least one loyalty card scheme, according to retail analyst Mintel. But with many schemes becoming digital-only, experts are warning those who choose not to – or cannot – use a smartphone could be paying “disproportionately more” for their weekly shop. A third of over-75s do not use the internet – approximately 1.6 million people in the UK – according to the charity Age UK.

The FBI is trying to bury famed Boston mobster Whitey Bulger’s file forever.

“It’s as if Bulger never existed,” The Boston Herald’s Joe Dwinell said.

The Boston Herald requested Bulger’s law enforcement records through a FOIA lawsuit, but the FBI came back and said they are no longer releasing any files related to the deceased mobster.

“The records responsive to your request are law enforcement records; there is a pending or prospective law enforcement proceeding relevant to these responsive records, and release of the information could reasonably be expected to interfere with enforcement proceedings. Therefore, your request is being administratively closed,” the FBI stated in a letter to the Boston Herald.

The Herald said they will appeal.

Fujitsu is set to win the UK’s Digital ID contract despite their past failures. The Post Office Scandal involving the IT system Horizon, developed by Fujitsu, was said to be one of the biggest miscarriages of justice n the country’s legal history. The system errors wrongfully showed shortfalls in Post Office accounts affecting 2,700 postmasters. The consequences of this included the wrongful prosecution of over 900 sub-postmasters, imprisonment, financial ruin, community shaming, and in some cases, suicides. Digital ID’s is an attack on our personal freedoms as it is, but how much worse could it be when entrusted to a company such as Fujitsu?

Two high-speed military cargo ships are stuck in the Port of Baltimore following Tuesday morning's collapse of the 1.6-mile-long Francis Scott Key Bridge. The major US East Coast port has been paralyzed for several days as the bridge collapse prevents inbound and outbound vessel traffic along the harbor's channel.

Using the automatic identification system, or AIS, data that tracks commercial vessels, three bulk carriers, two general cargo ships, one vehicle carrier, one tanker, and four Ready Reserve Force vessels (RRF), along with the container ship Dali that struck the bridge, are trapped in the harbor, according to the shipping blog gCaptain

The three bulk carriers include:

  • The Liberian-flagged JY River, owned by JIADE INTERNATIONAL SHIP and managed by WAH KWONG SHIP MANAGEMENT HK of Hong Kong.
  • The Thailand-flagged Phatra Naree, owned by PRECIOUS STONES SHIPPING LTD and managed by PRECIOUS SHIPPING PCL of Thailand.
  • The Portuguese-flagged Klara Oldendorff, owned and managed OLDENDORFF CARRIERS GMBH & CO of Germany.

The vehicle carrier is:

  • The Swedish-flagged Carmen, owned by WALL RO/RO AB and managed by WALLENIUS MARINE AB of Sweden.

The general cargo ships include:

  • The French-flagged Saimaagracht, owned by REDERIJ SAIMAAGRACHT and managed by SPLIETHOFF'S BEVRACHTINGS BV of the Netherlands.
  • The Panama-flagged Balsa 94, owned by EASTERN CAPITAL MARINE INC and managed by HIONG GUAN NAVEGACION CO LTD of Hong Kong.

The tanker is:

  • The Marshall Islands-flagged Palanca Rio, owned by MINSHENG RUIYANG TIANJIN SHPG and managed by PUMA ENERGY SUPPLY & TRADING of Singapore.

The US Maritime Administration (MARAD) Ready Reserve Force vessels include:

  • The Cape Washington, a Cape W Class roll-on/roll-off vessel.
  • The Gary I. Gordon, a Gordon-class roll-on/roll-off vessel.
  • The SS Antares (T-AKR-294), a Algol-class fast sealift vehicle cargo ship.
  • The SS Denebola (T-AKR-294), another Algol-class fast sealift vehicle cargo ship.

According to the military blog The War Zone (TWZ), Algol class vessels are "some of the fastest cargo vessels of their general size anywhere in the world." These ships are part of the RRF, a subset of vessels within Mar-ad's National Defense Reserve Fleet (NDRF) that provide surge sealift capability to the Pentagon for overseas conflicts.

Image removed.

TWZ said the activation process of RRF vessels takes about five to ten days. The vessels are operated with a skeleton crew until called upon.

RRF are stationed at major marine ports around the world.

Claire's Observations:  OUCH!! And our military doesn't have a "Plan B", when this kind of situation happens?!?    Will these cargoes just sit in the harbor until the ships can leave  And yes, these circumstances are rare, but they still do occur.
