Most people rarely think about where their electricity comes from—until it’s not there. Long-term power outages remain relatively infrequent. But with aging infrastructure, ever-worsening extreme weather events, and geopolitical instability increasing, long-term blackouts are becoming more common. When a long-term power outage does hit, it can create havoc.

The last few years have shown that even long-reliable electrical grids can experience catastrophic problems—leaving many thousands of homes without power for hours and sometimes even days. With global climate change worsening, power outages are poised to become a much more common event in our daily lives.

But just because blackouts are becoming more frequent doesn’t mean you can’t protect yourself. Preparation is critical to surviving a long-term power outage.

Webmaster addition: This is because the power grid, like the rest of our infrastructure, is neglected and decaying!

Google’s recent introduction of AI-generated overviews in search results has sparked a debate about the accuracy and potential consequences of this new feature as it returns inaccurate and often hilarious responses.

SFist reports that Google’s search engine has long been the go-to resource for millions of users seeking information on the internet. However, the company’s latest addition of AI-powered overviews at the top of search results has raised eyebrows due to concerns over the accuracy of the information provided and the potential impact on content creators and Google’s own ad revenue.

The AI-generated overviews, part of Google’s ultra-woke Gemini AI rollout, aim to provide users with succinct answers to their queries without the need to click through to other websites. While this may seem like a convenient feature, multiple instances of inaccurate information have been reported since its introduction. For example, a search for “the first inaugural ball” resulted in an AI overview that incorrectly stated the event took place at “Dolley Madison’s hotel” in Washington, DC, when in fact, it occurred at Long’s Hotel.

In another example, Google suggested that users add glue to their pizza sauce when cooking:

Washington Square Park is going from bad – to wurst.

The city is looking to combat the park’s notorious outdoor drug bazaar by parking a food truck in the green space’s northwest corner and approving permits for activities in the narcotics-riddled area.

William Morrison, parks administrator for Washington Square Park, revealed the latest Hail Mary attempt to snuff out the persistent drug activity during the 6th Precinct Community Council meeting.

“There are ways to positively change your space and don’t rely on force,” he said, later adding that one way to change “use in certain areas of a park is adding a concession.”

Over several decades of illegal immigration, Democrats have claimed there are 11 to 13 million illegal aliens in this country. It’s far more than that, but however many there are, Schumer demanded amnesty for them. That’s not a surprise.

We have no idea who these people are, yet he wants them all to vote. A recent poll showed that more than 88% of the illegals would vote for Democrats. It would give these unAmerican, authoritarian Democrats a permanent electoral majority.

Chuck Schumer says Democrats want to pass an immigration bill because “we have a population that is not reproducing on its own with the same level that it used to.”

Schumer then calls for amnesty for “all 11 million or however many” illegal immigrants in the U.S.

The city of Westbrook, Maine, is considering a new ordinance that would permit private homes, churches, and community centers to serve as homeless shelters. Most housing assistance applicants are recent migrants, and the proposal comes after the city’s welfare program official acknowledged that “90 to 95 percent” of welfare recipients are migrants, referred to as “New Mainers” by open borders activists.

Jennie Franceschi, Westbrook’s Director of Planning and Code Enforcement, indicated that the ordinance would enable single-family homes and churches to become emergency shelters if community needs dictate. The proposal does not mandate homeowners or churches to house homeless individuals but allows them to register as official homeless shelters voluntarily.

Several major U.S. companies continue to flout First Amendment freedoms, according to a legal group’s new analysis and rankings.

Alliance Defending Freedom’s annual Viewpoint Diversity Score Business Index ranks dozens of corporations based on their “respect for free speech and religious freedoms” both inside and outside of the companies.

In its third edition, announced Tuesday, the Top 10 list of shame for flouting those freedoms includes many companies on the same list last year. The companies’ scores ranged from 1% to 100%, measuring 43 different factors, including employee trainings, charitable donations, and various policies for consumers that reveal ideological bias.

ADF, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based legal nonprofit that advocates for First Amendment free speech and religious rights, analyzed the businesses’ overall histories and broke down what it regards as each company’s shortcomings. “Vague and subjective terms of service” emerged as a common factor.

1. X Corp.

The company running Elon Musk’s popular social media platform X, formerly Twitter, received the worst score in ADF’s index at 2%, dropping from 5% last year. ADF faulted the platform for maintaining a “hateful conduct” policy that continues to regulate users’ speech. The policy broadly says users may not engage in “hate speech,” which ADF flagged under “unclear or imprecise terms.”

The company’s score also suffered due to a lack of clear protections for employees’ personal beliefs, decisions by prior leadership before Musk took over, or because the company did not provide requested information to ADF.

Denial of civil liberties, accompanied by punishment for anybody who exposes those violations, has become commonplace in contemporary America.

Yet, nothing that the nation has experienced — and that the more discerning protest — prepared us for the grotesque spectacle on display in the brutal suppression of free speech on university campuses.

What we witness is the iron fist of autocracy employed to intimidate, to hurt, to deter those who would question — however peaceably — the right of the powers-that-be to impose their confected version of the truth on the public. Moreover, it is grounded on an arbitrary assumption of power having no basis in law or customary practice.

Two singular features of this situation focus our attention. First, there is the stunning near unanimity of agreement by all segments of society’s elites on the rightness of the ruling narrative — and on the actions they take to enforce it.

That is to say:

1) casting the issue as the dangerous radicalization of students by nefarious forces;

2) smearing demonstrators as “anti-Semites” — despite the large numbers of Jewish participants;

3) blanking out any reference to the cause and motivations of the protest: Israel’s genocide against the Palestinians; and

4) the need to crack down hard on these seditious students — physically by rioting police, and administratively by summary expulsions and suspensions without a semblance of due process.

These assertions emanate from the mouths of elected officials, police commissioners, media personalities, pundits and — most distressing — university presidents as well as boards of regents and trustees.

A section of the $320 million floating pier built and erected off Gaza's coast has broken off and floated onto an Israeli beach. The Saturday mishap is the latest setback for the US humanitarian aid project, after three US troops were reported injured aboard the pier two days prior, including one critically.

The Times of Israel's military correspondent Emanuel Fabian has reported that "An American vessel used to unload humanitarian aid from ships into the Gaza Strip via a floating pier disconnected from a small boat tugging it this morning due to stormy seas, leading it to get stuck on the coast of Ashdod, eyewitnesses say."

The recovery operation has not gone well either, as "Another ship was then sent to try and extract the stuck vessel, but also got beached," Fabian writes.

And yet a second US Army vessel also got stuck in shallow waters while trying to rescue the pier section. Overnight US ships had been moving two pieces of the floating pier to the Port of Ashdod in southern Israel when the now beached section detached and drifted away. American troops can be seen in footage standing helplessly on the beach.

An official US Central Command (CENTCOM) statement says the following:

This morning four U.S. Army vessels supporting the maritime humanitarian aid mission in Gaza were affected by heavy sea states. The vessels broke free from their moorings and two vessels are now anchored on the beach near the pier.

The third and fourth vessels are beached on the coast of Israel near Ashkelon. Efforts to recover the vessels are under way with assistance from the Israeli Navy.

The pier operation was already last week off to a rough start -- and was paused for two days -- after desperate Palestinians mobbed and ransacked the first trucks transporting aid unloaded from the pier before they could reach a distribution warehouse managed by the World Food Programme.

Emanuel Fabian/Times of Israel

The pier has been center of controversy, given a number of land routes for aid into Gaza are possible, but have been blocked by Israel's military.

Now, to mitigate that devastation amid reports of famine the US government has spent $320 million to build a pier to bypass its own beneficiary's land-route blockade. But operating it has proven tricky especially due to inclement conditions in the eastern Mediterranean

At best, the pier will only put a dent in the daunting humanitarian challenge. "I just want to be clear that this humanitarian maritime corridor alone is not enough to meet the staggering needs in Gaza, but it is an important addition," said USAID Levant response management team director Daniel Dieckhaus. "It is meant to augment, not replace or substitute for land crossings into Gaza."

At this point, with a section of the pier stuck on an Israel beach, and coming over two months after President Biden first unveiled the ambitious project, the whole initiative is becoming a bit of an embarrassment involving setback after setback.

Claire's Observations:  This has to be a double palm-to-forehead moment for the engineering staff which created it, moving at warp speed!!!

A functional survey was carried out at the General Staff, based on the results of which a decision was made to optimize the staffing levels of some structural units and military command and control bodies. This process includes the disbandment of a number of military organizational structures, the formation of new ones, as well as the optimization of existing ones. These measures will eliminate duplication of functions, as well as reduce staffing by 60 percent

Senate Democrats have found their latest tantrum to attack the Supreme Court since its conservative majority - the fact that Justice Samuel Alito reportedly flew two flags outside his homes they say makes him unfit to weigh in on matters concerning Donald Trump.

In mid-January 2021, Alito flew an upside down American flag - historically used by the military as a distress signal, while in July and September of 2023, he displayed an "Appeal to Heaven" flag - commissioned by George Washington in 1775 for maritime use - outside his New Jersey vacation home.

The flags have caused uproar among Democrats, who have been scheming for years to dilute the conservative power of the Supreme Court (see: court packing). In a Friday letter to Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, Democrat Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin and subcommittee head Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse urged Roberts to take steps to ensure Alito recuses himself from cases related to the 2020 presidential election and Jan. 6 attack. The Court currently has two such cases pending before it - one concerning federal prosecutors' use of an obstruction charge against Jan. 6 defendants, and another which addresses whether Donald Trump is entitled to immunity from criminal charges stemming from his actions following the 2020 election.

Now, the New York Times and Obama's law professor Lawrence Tribe are engaging in what people are referring to as "High-brow QAnon" conspiracy theories (aka 'BlueAnon)

Ever since the special military operation (SMO) started, one of the most persistent tropes has been the one about Western “wunderwaffen” defeating the “evil Russian shovel-wielding hordes“. And yet, the only result of these ludicrous delusions has been that museums across Russia have drastically increased their collections of weapons that various foolish invaders have tried using against the Eurasian giant. However, in this particular case, it will be effectively impossible to find the weapon in question in any Russian museum. The reason? Well, quite simple – getting blown out of the sky makes it exceedingly difficult to collect all the tiny pieces of the said weapon. And yes, you’ve guessed it, it’s a fighter jet. And yes, you’ve guessed it again, it’s an F-16. The hype over the US-made aircraft has been going on for well over two years, with the mainstream propaganda machine trying to portray it as the “ultimate wunderwaffe“.

To say these are delusions would be an understatement. However, even in the political West, there are times, no matter how seldom, when the words of actual professionals can be heard. And those nearly always stand in stark contrast to what the mainstream propaganda machine is claiming. For instance, back in late February, Politico interviewed Tom Richter, a retired US military pilot, who stated that the F-16 is “highly engineered” when compared to the MiG-29, even calling the former “a prima donna” and stressing that it’s “very sensitive and needs high maintenance”. He described Soviet-made aircraft as “more rough and tumble”, capable of “fly[ing] off poorly maintained airfields” and “need[ing] less maintenance”. It should be noted that Ukrainian pilots themselves openly stated that they preferred the Soviet-made jets they inherited, as they consider them superior, particularly the venerable Su-27.

Hunter Biden is not being arrested for multiple crimes because he is connected to the CIA.

Mike Benz lays this out in a video from a short time ago.  Benz explains the CIA’s purpose and makeup and how the CIA works with the military and Big Corporates in its efforts around the world.

In Ukraine, the CIA wanted to take over its oil and gas business.  This is why Hunter was placed on the Burisma Board even though he didn’t know a thing about oil and gas, says Benz.

The CIA and those involved could claim that this was all to kick Russia out of the oil and gas business and hurt Russia.  George Soros is also involved.

See the short clip below that lays this all out.

The United States military is actively preparing to go to war with China over growing fears of an invasion of Taiwan

Marines from the US and the Philippines have been carrying out ominous war games on small islands a short distance from Taiwan, reports the Wall Street Journal

The exercises include deploying teams of marines from Chinook helicopters, readying unarmed assault rifles, and scoping out terrain that would hypothetically be used if conflict erupted.

The developments are a disturbing glimpse into the perspective of US military leaders as the hostile nation continues to threaten to invade Taiwan. Any direct conflict between the US and China could easily spiral into World War Three, with both nations in possession of nuclear weapons that could destroy the planet.

Governors from 24 states have joined together to speak out against treaty negotiations being conducted by the Biden administration, which “would purport to grant” the World Health Organisation (WHO) “unprecedented and unconstitutional powers over the United States and its people.”

The World Health Organization (WHO) logo is seen at the entrance of their headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, on March 9, 2020. (Fabrice Coffrini/AFP via Getty Images)

In a March 22 letter, the governors stated that they “stand united in opposition to two proposed instruments” currently under negotiation.

The objective of these instruments is to empower the WHO, particularly its uncontrollable Director-General, with the authority to restrict the rights of U.S. citizens, including freedoms such as speech, privacy, travel, choice of medical care, and informed consent, thus violating our Constitution’s core principles,” the governors wrote. “If adopted, these agreements would seek to elevate the WHO from an advisory body to a global authority in public health.”

The documents they refer to are a new treaty called the WHO pandemic agreement and amendments to the existing International Health Regulations (IRS), which together would centralize a significant amount of authority within this United Nations subsidiary if the WHO declares a state of “health emergency.”

Claire's Observations:  the concerns of these governors are absolutely correct; however, these concerns mean nothing to By-di-Bye or his minions. so watch for this document to get signed, no matter how many US citizens get sickened and die because of it.

Rather than work towards negotiating a peace deal in diplomatic fashion, the United States Congress is begging for World War III with Russia.

Following a meeting with Ukrainian members of parliament (MPs) this week, members of Congress issued a plea for Kiev to receive a much larger war chest to continue fruitlessly fighting back against Russia.

There is no way the Zelensky regime can win the war, of course, but that does not mean Western backers are planning to stop pouring your tax dollars into trying. After all, what do they have to lose? It's your cash they're stealing.

The grouping of congressmen is pushing Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to not only expand Ukraine's war chest but also give the green light for Ukraine to start striking Russian territory with American weapons.

In a letter, these and other requests were made that are sure to lead the U.S. straight into WWIII.

In a May 21 interview that appeared on the Islamic of Iran News Network (IRINN), Gholam Hossein Esmaili, chief of staff of the late Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi, described the final moments as he recalled them before the helicopter the leaders were in crashed. And according to his account, there was no fog as the Western media claimed.

There were three helicopters in the convoy – Esmaili was on one of the two that safely reached its destination – but the one Raisi, his foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and seven of their companions were on crashed near the Iranian border with Azerbaijan.

Esmaili revealed that after saying their noontime prayers, the convoy departed towards Tabriz. The weather was clear with "no weather condition to be worried about," he said.

"After half an hour of being in the air, prior to reaching the Sungun copper mine, there was a small patch of clouds," Esmaili continued.

"So there was no fog?" the interviewer asked in response.

"Not at all," Esmaili responded. "There was fog on the ground, but not up in the air where we were advancing with the helicopters. However, in one small compacted area, there was a small patch of clouds above a cliff. In terms of height, this cloud was at the same height as our flight's height."

Imagine a technology that could genetically rewire organisms in real-time, silencing critical genes across entire ecosystems with unknown effects. Sounds like science fiction? It’s not. It’s the reality of a new class of pesticides harnessing RNA interference—or RNAi—and they’re already being deployed in our fields and food supply with minimal testing or oversight. According to organic producers and non-GMO (genetically modified organisms) advocates, the risks could be catastrophic.

(Dejan82/Shutterstock)

Environmental Organization Warns of RNAi Pesticide Dangers

In 2020, a groundbreaking report from Friends of the Earth (FOE) rang the alarm on the dangers posed by gene-silencing RNAi pesticides. According to the non-governmental environmental organization report, these products can genetically modify organisms in the open environment, with risks of unintended effects on non-target species, human health, and the integrity of organic and non-GMO agriculture. Despite these threats, RNAi pesticides face little to no regulatory scrutiny in most countries, and some have already been approved for use.

In June 2017, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency green-lit the RNAi corn developed by Monsanto and Dow, now being marketed under the trade name SmartStax Pro.

In a press release announcing the approval of SmartStax Pro, regulators praised the product for its value to the farmer and the low impact it has on the environment.

“The ribonucleic acid interference (RNAi) technology found in SmartStaxPro works through a process of gene control that occurs naturally in plants, animals, and humans alike. Scientists harnessed this control process to create the product, which works as a pesticide by silencing or turning off the activity of a gene critical to corn rootworm survival, resulting in the death of the corn rootworm. This product is so specific that it only affects the corn rootworm,” states the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) press release.

RNAi works by using small RNA molecules to interfere with and “silence” the activity of specific genes. While that may sound precise, the FOE report emphasizes that RNAi technology is prone to “off-target effects,” meaning it can unintentionally silence genes in non-target organisms. Since many genes are conserved across species, a pesticide designed for one insect could end up harming beneficial pollinators, soil microbes, or even humans. What’s more, the alteration caused by RNAi can sometimes be passed down to future generations, meaning that a single application could spark uncontrollable ripple effects.

Claire's Observations:  The last thing I want on the dinner table for this little family of 2, is FRANKENFOOD!!!!

I want this stuff labeled as RNA-TAMPERED WITH, so that I can avoid like a plague which has been evolved through "gain of function" research!!!!!!!

In California, clam fish are more worthy of life than unborn babies, as proved by the fact that a mom was fined nearly $90,000 after her kids accidentally collected 72 clams from the beach. So while you have the right to abort your own child, you don’t have the right to do such a thing to shellfish.

The day was as normal as any other. A mom packed some sandwiches and took her family to Pismo Beach, also known as the “Clam Capital of the World.” The kids grabbed their buckets and started collecting seashells…or so they thought….

It turns out, they accidentally collected 72 clams. Dun. Dun. Dun.

Rather than focus on the retail theft epidemic, authorities would rather crack down on clam thieves, or clam poaching, if you will.

President Biden has been accused of repeating a long running lie that he was appointed to a Naval Academy in 1965.

The president had been delivering the commencement speech at the Military Academy at West Point, New York, when he made the remarks to 1,036 cadets.

During the ceremony, Biden told the crowd of graduates that he had been 'appointed' to the Naval Academy.

Biden said: 'I was appointed by a fella I ran against when I was 29-years-old to the Naval Academy. I was one of ten, I wanted to play football.

'The day I was supposed to go down for the interview, a class mate of mine who was also one of the ten appointed to be chosen from.'

The president had been delivering the commencement speech at the Military Academy at West Point, New York, when he made the remarks to some 1,000 cadets

Biden continued: 'He came to pick me up, I found out two days earlier that they had a quarterback named Roger Staubach and a halfback named Joe Bellino. I said oh I'm not going there, I went to Delaware.'

Biden had previously made this same claim while addressing graduates of the U.S. Naval Academy in 2022.

Biden said that Delaware Sen. J. Caleb Boggs, who he ran against in 1972, had tried to get him into the Annapolis school seven years previously.

The New York Post reported at the time that curators for the Delaware Historical Association went 'box-by-box' searching for Academy nominations.

Chief curator Leigh Rifenburg had told the outlet that the claim made by the president was 'unlikely'.
