That’s a serious question and deserves serious consideration by investors. A wave of analysts and commentators have warned that the war in Ukraine could spin out of control and escalate into World War III.
One variation on that theme is that the war could escalate into a nuclear war with tactical nuclear weapons deployed. Most point a finger at Russia as the party that will launch a nuclear strike out of desperation at a failing campaign in Ukraine.
Actually, the opposite is true.
The Russian campaign is not failing (it has been on hold for several months awaiting the right conditions to launch a winter offensive). You just don’t hear about it in the mainstream media, which is essentially a propaganda outlet for Ukraine.
And the party most likely to use nuclear weapons first is the U.S. in order to save face and destabilize Russia once Ukraine is on the brink of collapse.
When the system begins to fail, society can quickly crumble. Two such events have occurred recently...
Let’s reflect on the Brumadinho mining dam disaster and see about the recent cartel attack in Culiacán, Mexico, in order to discuss how these kinds of events can affect our daily lives, particularly during times of crisis.
In his work, Selco explains what occurs to individuals and society as a whole when the system completely fails. He’s unmatched and possibly one of the greatest sources to look at because of how effectively his blunt and honest style is to convey the drama and urgency of the unthinkable.
I haven’t experienced a civil war, but I can speak about other SHTFs, such as Thirdworldization, or crime that occurs when a crisis arises.
Mississippi residents are consistently told that renewable energy sources, like solar panels, are now the lowest-cost ways to generate electricity, but these claims are based on creative accounting gimmicks that only examine a small portion of the expenses incurred to integrate solar onto the grid while excluding many others.
When these hidden expenses are accounted for, it becomes obvious that solar is much more expensive than Mississippi’s existing coal, natural gas, and nuclear power plants and that adding more solar will increase electricity prices for the families and businesses that rely upon it. One of the most common ways of estimating the cost of generating electricity from different types of power plants is a metric called the Levelized Cost of Energy, or LCOE.
The LCOE is an estimate of the long-term average cost of producing electricity from a power plant. These values are estimated by taking the costs of the plant, such as the money needed to build and operate it, fuel costs, and the cost to borrow money, and dividing them by the amount of electricity generated by the plant (generally megawatt hours) over its useful lifetime.
In other words, LCOE estimates are essentially like calculating the cost of your car on a per-mile-driven basis after accounting for expenses like initial capital investment, loan and insurance payments, fuel costs, and maintenance.
We can estimate the LCOE of new solar facilities in Mississippi by using overnight capital cost estimates from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) Electricity Market Module and other state-specific factors. We can then compare the cost of solar to the real-world cost data for the coal and natural gas generators at the Victor J. Daniel Jr. Generating Plant, and the Grand Gulf nuclear power plant using the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Form 1 database.
The graph below shows that electricity generated by new solar panels would cost $50.67 per megawatt hour when accounting for the fact that monopoly utilities are allowed to increase electricity prices to cover the cost of building any new solar facilities that receive approval from the Mississippi Public Service Commission, plus a ten percent rate of return, shown as “utility profits,” below.
The harshest winter since 2008 is contributing to shortages of staple vegetables across Central Asia and sending prices north in a region still suffering from COVID-induced food inflation.
In Uzbekistan, record frosts have highlighted the shortcomings of the national energy system as even residents of the capital spent days on end without power. But the cold has also hammered the agriculture sector in the region’s most populous country.
On January 20, the Uzbek agriculture minister announced a four-month ban on exports of onions after prices doubled in three weeks.
The title of the ministry’s press release – “there are reserves of onions in Uzbekistan” – hints at panic.
Given the fire-hose disgorgement of revelations about the behavior of the FBI, the CIA and their infiltration of the mainstream media, there is ample justification for believing that we are living in some dystopian, distinctly unfunny version of The Truman Show.
In the movie, the gormless Truman Burbank grows up thinking he is living a normal, happy life in a normal, happy town. Only gradually does he realize that something is amiss. Slowly, piece by piece, the awful truth dawns on him: his entire social world is a fabrication, a gigantic product-placement concession with him as the unwitting MacGuffin.
The deception is played for laughs, mostly. There are not many laughs in our Truman Show, the one in which the FBI hatches a fake plot to kidnap Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer, enlists some pathetic lowlifes to participate, then blows the cover and arrests the saps who joined them. One was just sentenced to sixteen years in the big house, another to nearly twenty.
In our Truman Show, various police and intelligence entities, including the FBI and the CIA, are in cahoots with Twitter, Facebook and other social media companies. We wouldn’t have known much about this except for the courageous action of Elon Musk, who everyone thought overpaid to acquire Twitter — $44 billion of the crispest — but who has been demonstrating almost daily that the deal was cheap at the price.
The journalists he has given access to Twitter’s files — including Bari Weiss, Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger — have ripped the putrid bandage off a suppurating orifice of deception, lies and politicized interference.
CNN commentator Van Jones has sparked a backlash for suggesting the cops who beat Tyre Nichols may have been 'driven by racism' - despite them all being black.
The video released on Friday night shows Nichols, 29, crying out for his mother multiple times during the brutal January 7 assault, which took place just a few blocks from his home. He died three days later.
Jones, one of CNN's star liberal commentators, wrote Friday that black people 'are not immune' to the effects of anti-black racism and that the narratives of police violence should never be as simple as 'white cop kills unarmed black man.'
We see the wokeness in movies and television shows. It was prevalent in awards ceremonies. However, according to her words, this black director didn’t get an Oscar and blamed it on Hollywood upholding whiteness.
Those in charge announced the nominees for the 95th Academy Awards on Tuesday. However, the Oscar nominees didn’t include any nominations for the movie “Till.” The film is about Mamie Till-Bradley and her quest for justice after the murder of her 14-year-old son. The critically acclaimed film did not get a nomination in any category for any award.
The decision by the United States and several allies to supply Ukraine with main battle tanks is paving a “direct path” to a full-scale war in Europe, Russia’s deputy envoy to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) warned.
In a statement issued on Thursday concerning the “dangerous policy of the Western Alliance countries to escalate tensions” in Ukraine, deputy OSCE representative Maxim Buyakevich said foreign arms deliveries to Kiev would only prolong the current conflict, or kick off a larger regional war.
“The leaders of the US and their NATO client states have come close to a red line. Their deliberate actions to escalate the military confrontation in Ukraine – provoking the regime into military action against the Russian population using Western heavy weapons and NATO intelligence – is a direct path to a full-blown military conflict in Europe,” he said, arguing that all people on the continent “definitely stand to lose” from such a war.
Drawing on a national database of over four million people, researchers in New Zealand have found a strong association between Pfizer’s mRNA Covid shot and kidney injuries.
In the three weeks after a mRNA jab, the risk of acute kidney injury rose 60 percent, the researchers found. They reported almost 1,800 extra cases – the equivalent of over 100,000 extra cases of kidney injury in the United States.
The finding was posted as a “preprint” in The Lancet’s database on Friday, Jan. 20. It is the third signal from a large government-managed database linking the Pfizer’s mRNA shots to serious side effects in only the last six weeks.
We have confirmation from the highest sources that Russia and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) are considering using gold for pan-Asian trade settlements, fully replacing dollars and euros.
In an article written for Vedomosti, a Moscow-based Russian newspaper published on 27 December, Sergey Glazyev, a prominent economic adviser to Vladimir Putin who is heading up the Eurasian Economic Union committee charged with devising a replacement for dollars in trade settlements sent a very clear signal to that effect. It appears he will drop earlier plans to design a new commodity-linked trade currency because it has been superseded.
Furthermore, increasing numbers of nations have joined or have applied to join the SCO as dialog members, including Saudi Arabia and other important Gulf Cooperation Organisation members. The economic benefits of discounted energy, China’s investment capital, and sound money are the ingredients for a new, Asia-wide industrial revolution, while the economies of the western alliance sink under rising prices, rising interest rates, collapsing financial markets, and collapsing currencies.
While it will mark the end of the road for the western alliance and its fiat currencies, Putin must be careful not to take the blame. Now that the alliance is racking up tanks and other equipment for the Ukrainians, they are actively promoting a new battle, with NATO getting almost directly involved. It is that action which will drive up commodity prices, undermine western financial markets, undermine government finances, and ultimately collapse their currencies.
Putin is likely to use NATO’s impetuous action in defence of Ukraine as cover for securing Russia’s future as an Asian superstate, which will be the west’s undoing.
Russia announced it will consider the use of depleted uranium akin to a nuclear attack.
Konstantin Gavrilov, head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna Negotiations on Military Security and Arms Control, said during a plenary meeting of the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation,
“We know that Leopard 2 tanks, as well as Bradley and Marder armored fighting vehicles, can use depleted uranium shells, which can contaminate terrain, just like it happened in Yugoslavia and Iraq,” he said. “If Kiev were to be supplied with such munitions for the use in western heavy military hardware, we would regard it as the use of ‘dirty nuclear bombs’ against Russia, with all the consequences that entails.”
The USG and NATO have stocked depleted beryllium and uranium ammunition in Europe. Bradley Fighting Vehicles, according to the CIA’s propaganda conduit, Voice of America, will soon arrive in Ukraine. The M242 gun mounted on the Bradleys uses Depleted Uranium (DU) ammunition. Additionally, the Challenger tanks the UK is sending use 120 mm sabot rounds surrounded by a jacket of DU.
“DU is used throughout Afghanistan and Iraq, mostly in aircraft, tank, and Bradley Fighting Vehicle ammunition,” reports Iraq Veterans Against the War.
During the Iraq invasion, the USG fired DU rounds into civilian neighborhoods. “Coordinates revealing where US jets and tanks fired nearly 10,000 DU rounds in Iraq during the war in 2003 have been obtained by the Dutch peace group Pax,” The Guardian reported in 2014.
According to [the IKV Pax Christi] report, which is due to be published this week, the data shows that many of the DU rounds were fired in or near populated areas of Iraq, including As Samawah, Nasiriyah and Basrah. At least 1,500 rounds were also aimed at troops, the group says.
On January 23rd, 2023 Bill Gates joined Lowy Institute Executive Director Dr Michael Fullilove in Australia to talk about global health, pandemic preparedness, food security and climate change.
In the interview, Bill Gates admits that the vaccines are not blocking infection, they don’t stop variants and they have a very short duration. This, after he and his cohorts spent the past three years demanding that we take the vaccine or be ousted from society because the vaccines “stopped the spread” and were “effective”.
Several sources of data emerged in 2021 pointing to a biopharmaceutical public health disaster with the COVID-19 vaccine campaign.
Pfizer recorded 1223 deaths occurring shortly after administration of their product within the first 90 days of use starting December 10, 2020. Pantazatos and Seligmann reported an excess in all-cause mortality from vaccine administration and US census data during 2021 between 146k and 187k, with a midpoint of 166k deaths.
By the end of December, 2021, the CDC VAERS system had reported ~8K with an under-reporting factor of 30, the casualty estimate from that source was 240k. In a recent paper published in BMC Infectious Diseases, Dr. Mark Skidmore used a valid representative survey to learn from population reporting. A total of 22% knew of someone who was seriously injured by the vaccine and the estimate based upon deaths attributed to the vaccine by respondents was 278K deaths.
JESSE WATTERS:The Bidens are all over FBI wiretaps talking to China. The FBI was investigating Patrick Ho, a Chinese bagman who eventually got caught for bribing African leaders and helping Iran evade sanctions. Real nice guy.
What does Ho have to do with the Biden family?
Ho was the VP for the Chinese energy company that was getting the Bidens rich, but Ho was also a spy and Hunter knew he was a spy. Hunter's on tape calling Ho the effing spy chief of China. Ho handed Hunter and Jimmy the Chin millions in dirty Chinese money — consulting fees, that's what they call that. Hunter and the Chin were bribed with Chinese consulting fees.
The FBI knew Ho was an intelligence agent and they were listening to his phone calls and the FBI finally picked him up at JFK, slapped the cuffs on him and booked him right here in Manhattan. So, Ho gets his one phone call. Of all people, Ho calls the Chin and the Chin calls Hunter and Hunter picks up the phone and Ho asks him to be his lawyer. How much? says Hunter. A million bucks, says Ho. Deal, says Hunter.
On Friday, Antifa called for activists to riot in New York City in the wake of five former officers of the Memphis Police Department being charged with the murder of 29-year-old Tyre Nichols.
According to the Daily Mail, the outlet obtained a poster that told Antifa to assemble at various locations throughout NYC and then "Burn It All Down."
The Memphis Police Department said they will release the body cam footage from the incident Friday night at 7pm, EST.
The Daily Mail reports that Antifa has ordered its followers to bring "a list of weapons including rocks, kerosene and pipes." The body cam footage was said to be "worse than Rodney King" the outlet reports and the family's lawyer said it shows Nichols was beaten like a "human pinata."
The campaign video Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) released to announce his 2024 Senate campaign became the subject of an ethics complaint within a single day.
On Thursday, Schiff announced he is running to replace Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.) in the Senate in 2024. By Friday, a nonprofit organization called the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) had filed an ethics complaint against Schiff’s very first Senate campaign ad.
In the ad, Schiff featured a variety of news clips from his time in office, including floor footage from his involvement in the February 2020 Senate impeachment trial against then-President Donald Trump.
Our democracy is at great risk. Because GOP leaders care more about power than anything else.
And because our economy isn’t working for millions of hard working Americans.
Following the release of Schiff’s campaign video, FACT sent a complaint to the House Ethics Committee, asking it to “immediately investigate whether Representative Adam Schiff abused official resources for political purposes.”
On Wednesday, Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) asked the Biden administration's judicial nominee, Kristen Clarke, a simple question about the Constitution, only to be met with a long silence and a pause. The question was simple: "Name two rights that are guaranteed by the Constitution."
Clarke, who is the current President and executive director of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, was taken off guard and paused in her answer, finally asking for a few moments to consider her response. After some time, she was able to provide a partial answer, citing the First and Fourth Amendments.
According to Senator Kennedy, the question was “not a trick” and was intended to be a way to gauge the nominee’s understanding of the Constitution.
Idaho Governor Brad Little has won a lawsuit against an illegal encampment that had been set up outside of the state Capitol building in Boise. The encampment, which had been set up by a group of individuals who were protesting against racial injustice and police brutality, had been causing disruptions and safety concerns for both state employees and visitors to the Capitol.
According to Fox News, Governor Little had filed the lawsuit in early January, arguing that the encampment was blocking the public from accessing the Capitol and its grounds, and that it posed a health and safety risk to those in the area. In addition, the Governor's office argued that the encampment was causing damage to the Capitol grounds and that the protesters were engaging in activities that were in violation of state laws and regulations.
In response to the lawsuit, the protesters argued that they had a First Amendment right to freedom of speech and assembly, and that the Governor's efforts to remove them were a violation of their rights. However, a judge sided with Governor Little, stating that while the protesters had a right to freedom of speech, they did not have the right to block access to the Capitol or engage in activities that were in violation of state laws.
The embargo is not only harming Cuban healthcare. It is also blocking Americans from life-saving Cuban treatments, Natalia Marques reports.
Scientists in Cuba believe that the breakthroughs they have made in the healthcare and technology sectors should be used to save and improve lives beyond the country’s borders.
This is why the island nation has developed important scientific and medical partnerships with organizations and governments across the globe, including with those in Mexico, Palestine, Angola, Colombia, Iran and Brazil.
However, such collaborations are difficult due to the blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States, which has now been in place for the last six decades.
In a conference, “Building Our Future,” held in Havana in November 2022, which brought together youth from Cuba and the United States, scientists at the Cuban Center of Molecular Immunology (CIM) said during a presentation that the blockade hurts the people of the United States, too.
By lifting the sanctions against Cuba, they argued, the people of the United States could have access to life-saving treatments being developed in Cuba, especially against diseases such as diabetes, which ravage working-class communities each year.
In a recent interview with the Associated Press, Pope Francis said that homosexuality is not a crime. The comments come after posthumous allegations by Pope Benedict that the church was being pushed by a progressive agenda under Francis, and that Catholic seminaries were being used as "gay clubs."
Francis said in the interview that laws criminalizing homosexuality are "unjust," and called on Catholic bishops to welcome LGBTQ people into the church.
Tyre Nichols screamed for his mother and Memphis police officers struck him multiple times – including in the face while his hands were restrained – toward the end of the Black man’s deadly encounter with the officers this month, video released by the city shows.
And although paramedics arrive minutes after officers disengage, Nichols appears to be left multiple times on the pavement without assistance before an ambulance comes.
The city on Friday night released body camera and surveillance video of the January 7 traffic stop and beating that led to the 29-year-old’s death in hospital from his injuries three days later. The release comes a day after five Memphis police officers, who also are Black and have been fired, were charged with murder.
Canadians pride themselves on the beauty of their country and the generosity of their people.
And as you pass by rows of sparkling glass towers framed by the snow-capped Rockies and the Pacific waters of the Burrard Inlet, Vancouver is undeniably breathtaking — widely regarded as one of the world’s most ‘desirable’ cities to live in.
But drive down East Hastings Street and all such optimism is dispelled.
For block after block in this downtown neighbourhood has been surrendered to hundreds of desperate drug addicts.
Top George Soros director has frequent Biden White House access, records show
A high-level director at George Soros’ Open Society Foundations (OSF) who is tied to a group bankrolled by the billionaire and quietly working with President Biden’s administration on policy has close access to the White House, records show.
