The FBI and IRS investigated criminal campaign violations involving Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign and a politically connected lawyer who paid Hunter Biden’s large tax debts.

However, according to congressional investigators, federal prosecutors inside US Attorney Dave Weiss’s office blocked agents from pursuing the campaign finance violation case.

Was the politically connected lawyer’s payoff of Hunter Biden’s tax debt a contribution to Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign?

Hollywood attorney Kevin Patrick Morris paid off Hunter Biden’s past-due tax debts according to CBS.

“A source familiar with the arrangement between Morris and Hunter Biden said the attorney paid Hunter Biden’s past-due tax debts,” CBS reported.

According to the New York Times, Hunter Biden told business associates that he had to take out a loan to pay off more than $1 million in past-due taxes.

Regular readers here know that I'm certainly nowhere close to being a master or guru of finance and economics. If I were, I'd be rich, and I'm definitely not rich. And I freely admit, this current system and its woes make no sense to me because... well, because it makes no sense.  Bond prices go up, yields go down, inflation goes up, while there are signs of a deflationary future, and there's more yellin' from Yellen(whom I'm convinced cannot possibly be as stupid as she acts, because if she is, you might as well make her the "vice president" and put the  Ayatollah Kamala in charge of the Fed). We produce ... well, pretty much nothing other than "financial instruments" which in turn produce more and more nothing other than financial instruments, and this all means it's a perfect time for the United Auto Workers to strike so that what few cars we still do produce will not be produced, and we're told we're better off under "president"  Bai Den Dhzao and his hand-puppet act than before.

Uh-huh.

It looks like one of those bizarre and overly complex Rube Goldberg contraptions that are designed to do very simple things and do them with a maximum of inefficiency and probability of breakdowns.   In short, I gone way beyond the threshold of anger. I'm now so far into the "I just don't care what you say" territory when it comes to the Uniparty ru(i)nning this country that I just don't pay any attention to any them any more. As a nation, and for that matter, as a civilization, we've  now reached the point of the alcoholic: we are close to hitting bottom (if we haven't already), and none of our remedies or bandaids will fix the problem, because the problem is bigger than any of us or any group of us to fix. We are helpless before the problem, and we need God's help and grace to get through it.

Polish President Andrzej Duda has said Kiev should not forget the crucial role Poland plays in Western military aid to Ukraine. The veiled threat came after cash-strapped Ukraine launched legal action against Warsaw over Poland’s embargo on imports of Ukrainian grain. 

“It would be good for Ukraine to remember that it receives help from us and to remember that we are also a transit country to Ukraine,” Duda told reporters on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday. 

Speaking about the need to protect Poland’s domestic markets from the influx of Ukrainian grain, Duda compared the neighboring country to “a drowning person [who] is extremely dangerous because he can pull you to the depths.”

The Polish president said Warsaw has a duty to defend itself against businessmen who “would like to sell grain as quickly as possible at the lowest possible cost.”

The Vatican announced Tuesday it will generate a carbon credit to offset the climate debt incurred by its upcoming synod of bishops in Rome.

“The General Secretariat of the Synod intends to make its contribution to the conservation of creation by choices that will offset the residual CO2 emissions produced by the upcoming XVI General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops,” the Vatican declared.

Part of the CO2 emissions from the October synod will be offset thanks to “a carbon ‘credit,’ thus balancing the accumulated ‘debt,’” the Vatican statement said.

The statement said that the Vatican will be assisted in this endeavor through the financial support of the SOS Planet Foundation and the technical contribution of LifeGate.

The project chosen to compensate Vatican emissions will entail the distribution of “efficient cooking stoves and water purification technologies to households, communities and institutions” in Nigeria and Kenya, the statement said.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced that his Tory government will scale back some of the green agenda policies that have become a staple of the neo-liberal Conservative party, arguing that families should not be forced to endure “unacceptable costs” to meet Net Zero goals.

In a speech from Downing Street, Mr Sunak said on Wednesday evening that his government will push back the ban on the sale of new petrol and deisel cars from 2030 to 2050, as well as delaying a scheduled prohibition on gas and oil home boilers.

Taking on two pillars of the Great Reset green agenda, Sunak went on to announce that he has scrapped proposals to tax meat and air travel, in addition to abandoning plans to limit the number of people allowed in a car.

Branding the new guidelines a “new approach to Net Zero”, the PM said: “Reaching our targets does not need to come unnecessarily at the expense of people facing higher costs – and that’s why today we can ease the burden on working families.”

Despite the scaling back, Mr Sunak claimed that the intention is to see the UK reach net zero carbon emissions by the year 2050, saying: ““Why am I confident in saying that? Because over the last decade so far, we’ve massively over-delivered on every one of our carbon budgets, despite regular predictions we’d miss them.”

Saudi officials have reportedly held direct talks with a delegation from Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement over a permanent ceasefire to end the war, leaving its allied parties in the cold.

Citing informed sources, the Lebanese al-Akhbar daily reported that Omani-mediated negotiations have been taking place between Saudi Arabia and the Sana’a government in Riyadh.

It said the Saudi-appointed Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) in Yemen and the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) “appear to have no role in the negotiations,” predicting that the pair’s role “will not go beyond signing and attending the [upcoming] ceremony.”

Saudi Arabia, the report added, is ignoring the STC’s secessionist aspirations and has rejected its demands to be included in the Riyadh talks.

The discussions are almost at a “final” stage with “great progress,” particularly in relation to humanitarian issues, it noted.

House Republicans will unveil legislation Thursday to ban the Department of Homeland Security from forming another Disinformation Governance Board after the panel was shuttered last year amid censorship concerns from conservatives.

The bill, which is being introduced by Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX) along with Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Ronny Jackson (R-TX), aims to mandate that federal funds cannot be "authorized to be appropriated or otherwise made available" to the DHS for establishing a governance board. The agency in August 2022 notably terminated its panel, which claimed it would be focused on thwarting alleged misinformation, "malinformation," and disinformation in the United States, just months after launching.

“Partisan government officials running a 'disinformation board' sounds ridiculous to most people, but yet the Biden administration tried to control the speech of American citizens," Pfluger, who along with Greene sits on the Homeland Security Committee, told the Washington Examiner. "DHS should be focused on securing the border and preventing terrorist attacks, not fact-checking social media and censoring Americans."

Republicans have increasingly pursued avenues to restrict the Biden administration's ability to track purported disinformation, including by backing appropriations bills that seek to choke off federal funding for related programs.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced a new Homeland Security Intelligence Experts Group Tuesday and its 17 members. 

"Experts Group to provide advice and perspectives on intelligence and national security efforts to the Office of Intelligence and Analysis and the Office of Counterterrorism Coordinator to support DHS’ vital work to protect our country," DHS released in a statement.

Mayorkas claims the Experts Group will work to address "complex" problems and "threats" facing the country. 

“The security of the American people depends on our capacity to collect, generate, and disseminate actionable intelligence to our federal, state, local, territorial, tribal, campus, and private sector partners,” Mayorkas released in a statement. 

Given the weaponization of government by the Biden administration against domestic political opponents, the language being used and the scope of the group's work is highly alarming. 

A new biography of Elon Musk by biographer Walter Isaacson released this past week reveals how Elon Musk found out that former FBI general counsel Jim Baker was overseeing Twitter’s legal department. For any naysayers out there that don’t believe the giant tech company formerly known as Twitter was an extension of the FBI, they can no longer hide under delusion.

Investigative journalist Bari Weiss was researching the company’s books after Elon Musk made good on his promise of allowing select journalists to dig through them once he took over the company. The journalists’ work turned out to be the salacious “Twitter Files” by former Rolling Stone journalist Matt Taibbi, whose first installment revealed that the FBI and other government agencies were pressuring Twitter to suppress disfavored political content.

When Weiss showed up to continue the reporting, she made the revelation that Baker, was actively trying to prevent Musk’s transparency efforts. Baker, the former FBI general counsel under Director James Comey, played a pivotal role in Twitter’s decision in October 2020 to suppress the distribution of the Hunter Biden laptop story written by the New York Post.

Former U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund made a startling revelation during congressional testimony on Tuesday that echoes a claim made previously by former President Donald Trump.

During testimony, Sund claimed that three days before the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol Building, U.S. House Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving rejected Sund’s request to deploy hundreds of National Guard soldiers because Irving told him then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) would “never go for it,” The Epoch Times reported.

Sund made his revelation to the House Oversight Committee during a 90-minute hearing, the outlet added.

In what was his first testimony before a House committee since he was forced to resign on Jan. 8, two day after the incident — he wasn’t called at all to testify before Pelosi’s hand-picked Jan. 6 Committee — Sund said he was frustrated by the refusal of the offer of troops because their presence that day, he believes, would have been a “game-changer.”

Rishi Sunak has slammed the old approach to climate policies, describing them as an eco "diktat". He pledged to slash a whole host of policies - including four you may have never known existed.

The PM used his speech to promise to bring an end to "heavy-handed policies", including taxes on eating meat, taxes to discourage flying, being forced to sort your rubbish into seven different bins and compulsory car sharing.

But reacting after the speech, a swathe of people on social media pointed out that they werent aware any of those policies existed.

A federal court of appeals ruled earlier this month that the White House, surgeon general, CDC and FBI “likely violated the First Amendment” by exerting a pressure campaign on social media companies to censor COVID-19 skeptics — including Stanford epidemiologist Dr. Jay Bhattacharya.

“I think this ruling is akin to the second Enlightenment,” Bhattacharya told The Post. “It’s a ruling that says there’s a democracy of ideas. The issue is not whether the ideas are wrong or right. The question is who gets to control what ideas are expressed in the public square?”

The court ordered that the Biden administration and other federal agencies “shall take no actions, formal or informal, directly or indirectly” to coerce social media companies “to remove, delete, suppress or reduce” free speech.

Bhattacharya, a professor of medicine, economics and health research policy at Stanford University, co-authored the Great Barrington Declaration in the fall of 2020 with professors from Harvard and Oxford.
