Democratic Senator John Fetterman's office has been accused of smoothing over transcripts of his congressional appearances to hide the stroke victim's struggles to articulate himself. 

During a session about the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank Tuesday, Fetterman was filmed saying: 'The Republicans want to give a work requirement for SNAP. You know, for a uh, uh, uh, a hungry family has to have these, this kind of penalties, or these some kinds of word — working uh, require — Shouldn't you have a working requirement, after we sail your bank, billions of your bank?,' the liberal senator said during the session. 

'Because you seem we were preoccupied, uh when, then SNAP requirements for works, for hungry people, but not about protecting the tax, the tax papers, you know, that will bail them out of whatever does about a bank to crash it,' he continued in the verbatim transcript. 

The Belgian politician Connor Rousseau and his social-democratic Vooruit party want to require parents to send their children to day care and kindergarten. There are still politicians who think of the children. And the logic is conclusive: the first six years of life are decisive for the future life of the child. That cannot be left to the parents. The state must take its responsibility and release money. A few billion is enough to get the job done.

No one knows where that money will come from. But if necessary, some additional printing can be done. That is actually a way to make the population pay more taxes without them realizing it. Citizens nowadays pay barely 53 percent taxes. A little more loyalty to the state is welcome. Moreover, it is for their own good, and that of their descendants. Citizens do not realize enough how important it is that their children are brought up well. Just as they do not realize that they cannot actually do that themselves and that the state must do it for them.

And if inflation leads to the collapse of the financial system, then a solution is already at hand: the introduction of the CBDC—the digital currency of the central banks. This will be linked to the digital passport and a social credit system. In this way, the state will educate not only the child, but the parents as well, according to a system of punishment and reward that Pavlov tested on dogs.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued an alert for monkeypox (mpox) after multiple cases popped up in Chicago, with even vaccinated individuals found to have been infected.

There is a “potential risk for new mpox cases,” the agency said in its May 15 emergency alert. “This week, CDC and local partners are investigating a cluster of mpox cases in the Chicago area. From April 17 to May 5, 2023, a total of 12 confirmed and one probable case of mpox were reported to the Chicago Department of Public Health. All cases were among symptomatic men. None of the patients have been hospitalized.” Nine out of the 13 cases were identified among men who had received two doses of Jynneos—the licensed vaccine for monkeypox.

Billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk on Tuesday defended his recent criticism of globalist political donor George Soros, as well as the central ideal of free speech, saying he won’t be cowed into hiding his opinions even if it costs him money. Musk also responded to a question about whether he regretted voting for Joe Biden in 2020, joking he would prefer if America could elect “a normal human being as president.”

The Group of Seven (G7) will decide at its summit in Hiroshima, Japan, to restrict Russia's access to the global financial system, reduce dependence on its energy sources, freeze its assets in the West and take a number of other measures against Moscow in connection with its special military operation in Ukraine, a senior US administration official said at a special telephone briefing for journalists in connection with US President Joe Biden's participation in the G7 conference.

According to the official, the G7 intends to block previously frozen Russian assets until Moscow ends its special military operation. "You’ll see, one, some significant efforts to further disrupt Russia’s ability to source inputs for its war (special military operation - TASS). Two, you’ll see efforts to close evasion loopholes. Three, you’ll see further steps to reduce reliance on Russian energy. Four, you’ll see continued efforts to squeeze Russia’s access to the international financial system. And, five, you’ll see an ongoing commitment to keep Russia’s sovereign assets immobilized until the end of the war. There will be actions to back up those principles that will be articulated in the Ukraine statement," the official said.

A 95-year-old great-grandmother who was tasered by police is receiving end of life care - as a sombre assistant police commissioner insists that she was slowly approaching officers with her walking frame while 'armed' with a steak knife.

Clare Nowland - who suffers dementia, is 157cm tall (five foot two inches) and weighs just 43 kilograms - was blasted with a taser by police at the Yallambee Lodge aged care facility near Cooma, in the NSW Snowy Mountains, about 4am on Wednesday. 

According to a police account, Mrs Nowland was by herself in a treatment room with the knife at the time, having collected it from the kitchen earlier. 

Officers claim Mrs Nowland was approaching police 'at a slow pace', with her frame, when she was blasted with the taser by a senior constable with 12 years' experience. 

The Taser blast caused her to fall and hit her head. 

The most senior adviser to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Mikhail Podoliak, has declared that his country “hates” representatives of the Russian state and will persecute them “always and everywhere.” His twitter post came after Moscow complained to the UN about a confession by Kiev’s military intelligence chief that his organization carries out targeted assassinations against Russian citizens.

Podoliak unleashed the angry tirade against Russia on Twitter on Thursday. He was reacting to Moscow’s rebuke of General Kirill Budanov, the head of the Ukrainian military intelligence service GUR, who told journalists earlier this week that his agents had murdered some Russian public figures and pledged that they “will keep killing Russians anywhere on the face of this world.”

On the night of May 18, Russian forces launched another massive attack on Ukrainian military facilities across the country. It was largely rated as one of the most massive recent attacks.

At night, air alert sounded in all regions of Ukraine. The main areas of the strikes were the southern and central regions of the country, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are accumulating military reserves for their further transfer to the front lines. Throughout the night, Russian missiles, kamikaze UAVs and guided bombs have been targeting the Ukrainian military.

There were two wave of massive strikes. In the late evening, explosions thundered in the areas of concentration of military personnel and equipment in the Kherson, Zaporozhye, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Kirovograd, Ternoopil and Cherkasy regions, as well as in Odessa, Kharkiv and Kramatorsk. In the early morning, Russian Kalibr missiles struck their targets in the Khmelnitsky, Zhytomyr and Kiev regions.

According to some approximate estimations, in total, up to 50 cruise missiles of various types and UAVs targeted Ukraine.

On the evening of May 18, Wagner sources reported that the last stronghold of the AFU in the western part of Bakhmut, known as the Domino area (“New” microdostrict), came under Russian control.

The remaining units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were escaping from the area in recent days, leaving their strongholds mostly at night. Ukrainian servicemen are leaving their weapons, running from the city on foot, climbing on a hill located through the forest area on the outskirts. Their retreat is not coordinated. Some Ukrainian servicemen run to Ivanovskoye (Krasnoe) through the ruins of the farm, others go to Chasov Yar.

Wagner fighters are securing the captured buildings that were mined by the retreating Ukrainian forces.
