A person should adhere to biblical principles and study the world experience of interest-free banking systems. Holy Scripture forbids lending money at interest and making profit from interest.
Archpriest Oleg Stenyaev, Church of the Nativity of St. John the Forerunner in Sokolniki, writer, theologian, & missionary
In the book of Exodus it says:
“If you lend money to any of My people who are poor among you, you shall not be like a moneylender to him; you shall not charge him interest.” (Ex. 22:25).
The same prohibition is repeated in the book of Leviticus:
“If one of your brethren becomes poor, and falls into poverty among you, then you shall help him, like a stranger or a sojourner, that he may live with you. Take no usury or interest from him; but fear your God, that your brother may live with you. You shall not lend him your money for usury, nor lend him your food at a profit. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan and to be your God.” (Lev. 25:35-37).
"You shall not charge interest to your brother — interest on money or food or anything that is lent out at interest." (Deut. 23:19).
The New Testament also has instructions that are indirectly related to usury. The Gospel of Matthew says:
"Give to the one who asks from you, and do not turn away from those who want to borrow from you" (Matt. 5:42).
The US sanctions policies will not achieve the stated goal, with Russian industries increasingly relying on their own strength, Russia’s embassy in Washington said in a comment on Wednesday.
Commenting on the latest sanctions, announced by the US Treasury, targeting individuals and legal entities who Washington said played a role in circumventing anti-Russian restrictions, the embassy said, "The flywheel of the sanctions machine, propelled to red heat by the US authorities, continues to generate numerous restrictions with side effects for third parties. <…> It looks like the authors of such decisions don’t think about their legitimacy. And also about the consequences for other countries, including partners and allies of the US. Such a widespread use of secondary measures cannot be explained in any other way,"
"They don’t seem to understand that many nations see Washington's proposals to cooperate accompanied by threats of punishment for interactions with Russia as a mockery," the embassy said in its comment.
"We can only confirm that such illegal steps by the United States will not achieve the stated goal. The Russian economy remains far from being `in tatters’, as some in the West hope. The same goes with Russia’s industry, which, thanks to - and despite - all economic barriers, is increasingly relying on its own strength," the embassy emphasized.
NATO should stop their Pontius Pilate hand-wringing about sending their upgraded Tiger tanks to Ukraine’s wrecking yards as they are damned whether they throw good tanks after bad, or if they do not. The best NATO can do is to form a line of defense stretching from the brothels of Romania in the south up through Poland’s and onwards to the pimple states of the Baltic and the big mouthed women leaders of Sweden and Finland. Ukraine, like Vietnam and Afghanistan before it, is a lost cause. NATO should end this war by packing its bags, going home and allowing Zelensky’s thugs await their fate on their own.
The Americans can send their Bradleys, the British their Challenger tanks, the French their Leclercs and the Germans their Leopards. Russia will destroy all of them and all crews unfortunate enough to man them. If Hitler’s Tigers could not stop the Russian tide, nor will they.
Though the British can boast to their hearts’ content about their invincible Challengers, those British wunderwaffe weapons will break down and need repair when they reach Ukraine’s killing fields. That is assuming Russia does not send them to Hades before they first see action. Showcasing your wunderwaffe weapons in Ukraine is one thing. Prevailing, as the Wehrmacht discovered, is another.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the Georgian authorities intend to kill former Georgian President and current citizen of Ukraine Mikheil Saakashvili.
“I think that today the Georgian government is killing him. You know that they poisoned him and now, excuse me, they are killing him little by little,” he stressed.
In this regard, Zelensky asked: “Georgia, its leadership, who are they for today?” “Are they neutral or are they for Russia? Since Russia treats its politicians in the same way as today the Georgian leadership treats not its politicians anymore, but the citizens of Ukraine. And so once again: are they neutral? Or are they for Russia? Or are they just against Ukraine, etc.?” the president said.
Any attempt by China to change the status quo in the Taiwan Strait will cause “severe consequences” for regional and global security, NATO’s secretary general said Wednesday.
In an interview with Nikkei Asia in Tokyo, Jens Stoltenberg said the bloc is concerned about China’s threatening rhetoric and “coercive behavior” in the Taiwan Strait. He stressed that preventing Beijing from using military power was crucial.
The United States made a strategic mistake as they actually provoked a conflict with two nuclear powers, namely Russia and China, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said speaking on Russia’s Channel One television.
"It seems to me that the United States made an important strategic mistake," Antonov said. "They have, in fact, started a conflict with two nuclear powers, or putting it into simple words - they are trying to fight on two fronts."
"One should take a look at news reports delivered by Pentagon via major US media outlets in which they state that Washington prepares for war with China over Taiwan," he noted. "Once again, red lines were mentioned there, however there are no red lines, and frankly speaking, I can hardly imagine how Americans will start direct hostilities with China over Taiwan."
"At the same time, Americans keep reiterating that they are committed to their policy of One China [principle]," the Russian ambassador said.
On January 30-31, Oleg Serebrian, Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration visited Georgia where he met with the Prime Minister of Georgia, the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation as well as the Minister of Health, and Parliament officials. Moldovan Deputy PM’s discussions with the official Tbilisi included topics related to bilateral cooperation and the countries’ reforms agenda. Serebrian also visited the village Odzisi in the vicinity of the occupation line and discussed the developments regarding the occupied territories of Georgia and Moldova.
[B]oth sides underscored the importance of peaceful conflict resolution and both leaders reaffirmed their strong mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each other’s countries.
“The conversation also touched on the process of EU integration of the Associated Trio member states. Attention was paid to the implementation of the European Council’s recommendations, steps taken so far, and plans for the future,” the Government Administration reported.
The West’s intellectual property is now fair game for retaliation against the ongoing sanctions, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said on Tuesday on his Telegram channel.
"All that remains is to adopt rules on the use of their [Western - TASS] intellectual property. Without any licenses and payment of royalties. Among other things, these will be our retaliatory sanctions against their property rights. On everything, from movies to industrial software," Medvedev commented.
Further lampooning the West, Medvedev sarcastically commended "developers of various programs for the unlicensed use of their expensive intellectual products," saying this is "the unlicensed use under conditions of personal sanctions."
"So what, a la guerre comme a la guerre," he argued.
The COVID data that I’ve read through and analyzed this week is so shocking that I had to check my math twice. I must have made a mistake, I thought. Out of the 1,195,000 active duty military members in the USA and the 778,000 reserve troops, 863,013 developed nervous system diseases in the six-month period between August of 2021 and this past January. That’s 43% of the troops.
That’s according to data from an attorney named Thomas Renz, who just presented the military vaccine data to a US Senate committee. Renz has also put the US government on notice with a warning: All COVID vaccine mandates from the US government must end immediately.
The US government has a well-documented history of backing extremist groups as part of a panoply of foreign policy misadventures, which inevitably end up blowing up in the American public’s face. In the 1960s, the CIA worked with Cuban anti–Fidel Castro radicals who turned Miami into a hub of terrorist violence. In the 1980s, the agency supported and encouraged Islamic radicals converging in Afghanistan, who would go on to orchestrate the September 11 attack. And, in the 2010s, Washington backed Syria’s not-so-“moderate” rebels who ended up cutting a swath of atrocities through civilians and the Kurdish forces that were meant to be US allies.
Based on a new report, it looks like we may soon be able to add another to that list of fatally unlearned lessons: Ukrainian neo-Nazis.
According to a recent Yahoo! Newsreport, since 2015, the CIA has been secretly training forces in Ukraine to serve as “insurgent leaders,” in the words of one former intelligence official, in case Russia ends up invading the country. Current officials are claiming the training is purely for intelligence collection, but the former officials Yahoo! spoke to said the program involved training in firearms, “cover and move,” and camouflage, among other things.
As the conflict between Ukraine and Russia continues to escalate and dominate the world’s attention, the increasing evidence that the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is and has been working to create and arm an insurgency in the country has received considerably little attention considering its likely consequences. This is particularly true given that former CIA officials and a former Secretary of State are now openly saying that the CIA is following the “models” of past CIA-backed insurgencies in Afghanistan and Syria for its plans in Ukraine. Given that those countries have been ravaged by war as a direct result of those insurgencies, this bodes poorly for Ukraine.
Yet, this insurgency is poised to have consequences that reach far beyond Ukraine. It increasingly appears that the CIA sees the insurgency it is creating as more than an opportunity to take its hybrid war against Russia ever closer to its borders. As this report will show, it appears the CIA is determined to manifest a prophecy propagated by its own ranks over the past two years. This prediction from former and current intelligence officials dates from at least early 2020 and holds that a “transnational white supremacist network” with alleged ties to the Ukraine conflict will be the next global catastrophe to befall the world as the threat of Covid-19 recedes.
Russian Kornet, Vikhr and Ataka anti-tank missiles as well as 125 mm Mango armor-piercing shells can effectively destroy German-made Leopard 2 main battle tanks set to be delivered to Ukraine, Russia’s state tech corporation Rostec told TASS on February 1.
“The Leopard 2 is a modern and well-protected vehicle but cannot be called invulnerable. Combat experience has shown that these tanks can be obliterated even with old man-portable anti-tank missile systems that are considerably inferior by their performance to weapons operational in the Russian Army, in particular, Kornet anti-tank missile systems,” Rostec told the Russian news agency.
The corporation was likely referring to the tank’s bad experience in Syria, where at least eight Leopard 2A4s of the Turkish military were destroyed by ISIS terrorists with Soviet-made Fagot and Konkurs guided missiles in 2016.
Compared to Russian tanks, the Leopard 2s lack explosive reactive armor (ERA), which will make them more vulnerable to high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) guided missiles and tank-fired armor-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot (APFSDS) shells.
Apparently, being in favor of peace in Europe is reason enough for the Ukrainian neo-Nazi regime to threaten the someone’s life. After criticizing the German Foreign Minister’s irresponsible pro-war remarks and emphasizing the importance of peace with Russia for European stability, Croatian President Zoran Milanovich has been added to Myrotvorets, the Ukrainian government’s public kill-list. The case shows how the Ukrainian regime deals with its own international “allies” – since Croatia is a member of NATO and EU.
Croatian President Milanovich “disappointed” Ukrainian and Western leaders with his realistic statements. He has long asserted that Moscow is an important point for European stability and supported talks that take Russian interests into account. Recently, he criticized Annalena Baerbock’s pro-war statements, saying: “The German foreign minister says we must be united, because I quote, we are at war with Russia. I didn’t know that, Maybe Germany is at war with Russia, but then, good luck. Maybe this time it turns out better than 70-odd years ago. If we are at war with Russia, then let’s see what we need to do. But we won’t ask Germany for its opinion”.
In the last week of January, Milanovich’s name appeared on the website of the “Myrotvorets” group, in the “list” section, which is intended to expose the data of the people the Kiev regime wants to kill. The site also informs the groups that helped it to obtain the data of the listed. The information is provided by various intelligence agencies, both Ukrainian and Western ones, including American institutions such as the CIA and FBI. In the case of Milanovich, this was provided by Ukraine’s GRU.
Another video from the front line somewhere in the Donbass showed the storming of the positions of the Ukrainian military by Russian servicemen. According to reports, the video was shot by a group of Russian soldiers who were mobilized several months ago and recently arrived at the front line.
The footage once again confirmed the attitude of Russian servicemen to their enemies. All Ukrainian servicemen remained alive, none of them were wounded. They were asked to lay down their weapons and lie down on the ground. After they submitted, the Russians promised not to harm them.
On the other hand, the video reportedly shows the first experience of mobilized Russian servicemen storming a Ukrainian stronghold. Russian kindness posed a great threat to their own safety. Instead of throwing a grenade into the trenches, they entered the stronghold and began asking the enemy to come out. There is no necessary control over the surrendered Ukrainian soldiers.
Redacted as learned that the same Blackwater mercenaries responsible for war crimes in Iraq are now operating in Ukraine under Pentagon funding. They've changed their name, but the players are the same.
My long-standing commitment is to “the value of human life”, “the criminalization of war” , “peaceful co-existence” between nation states and “the future of humanity” which is currently threatened by nuclear war.
I have been researching nuclear war for than more 10 years focussing on its historical, strategic and geopolitical dimensions as well as its criminal features as a means to implementing what is best described as “genocide on a massive scale”.
What is presented below is the history of nuclear war: a succession of U.S. nuclear war plans going back to the Manhattan Project and the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945.
Unknown to the broader public, the first U.S. Doomsday Blueprint of a nuclear attack directed against the Soviet Union was formulated by the US War Department on September 15, 1945 when the US and the Soviet Union were allies.
There is an element of political delusion and paranoia in the formulation of US foreign policy. The Doomsday Scenario has been on the drawing board of the Pentagon for more than 70 years.
Numerous US nuclear war plans have been formulated from the outset, leading up to “The 1956 Strategic Air Command SAC Atomic Weapons Requirements Study” (Declassified in December 2015) which consisted in targeting 1200 urban areas in the Soviet Union, Eastern Europe and China.
Much of what is presented below is the object of media censorship. It is either trivialized (casually compared to the imminent dangers of CO2), or it goes unreported.
The next time you hear a retired U.S. General who commanded U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan belittle and dismiss the Russian military as incompetents, remind yourself of two uncomfortable facts — Afghanistan and Ukraine are almost the same size in terms of land mass and the U.S. failed to defeat a bunch of Afghani goat herders who had no air power or artillery. The United States and NATO poured billions of dollars into Afghanistan and failed to vanquish the Taliban, who easily took control of Kabul in August 2021. These clueless generals remind me of Kevin Kline’s character in the film, A Fish Called Wanda:
In Ukraine, Russia continues to advance from the east and the south, chewing up Ukrainian brigades and steadily advancing against stiff fortifications, despite fighting a de facto NATO force that is flooding Ukrainian forces with NATO munitions, artillery and armored vehicles. Moon of Alabama provides an excellent summary of NATO performing hara kiri, er I mean, “its disarmament mission.”
French Defence Minister Sebastien Lecornu’s announcement that France will send 12 additional Caesar howitzers to Kyiv is “clearly important for the Ukrainians, particularly the Caesar artillery system”, said FRANCE 24 Chief Foreign Editor Robert Parsons.
“They’ve been very successful in Ukraine, so the Ukrainians will be delighted, I am sure, to get another 12. I think that brings that total to over 40 now, closing on 50 Caesars in Ukraine.
Massachusetts Democrats have a bold new proposal for prisoners: donate your organs or bone marrow, and get as little as a couple of months off of your sentence. The legislation, which has attracted five cosponsors in the state House, raises major bioethical concerns for the 6,000-plus people currently held in the Bay State’s prisons. In essence, the bill would ask prisoners which is more important to them: their freedom, or their organs and bone marrow.
The bill appears to go significantly beyond other organ-donation policies for prisoners. The Federal Bureau of Prisons says that prisoners may donate their organs while incarcerated, but only to immediate family members. In 2013, the state of Utah allowed organ donation from prisoners who died while being incarcerated. Most other states do not allow organ donations from prisoners at all.
In the United States, dozens of food processing plants suspiciously caught fire over the past year. Remarkably, no one was present at the time of the fires. The Eco Health Alliance whistleblower, bioterrorism expert, military veteran, and scientist Dr. Andrew Huff has a possible explanation for the food supply fires.
Huff has access to government information about simulating a food supply attack. The information comes from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Food and Agriculture Sector Criticality Assessment Tool (FASCAT). This also includes which places are particularly at risk.
According to Huff, who authorities have harassed due to the nature of his work since 2019, the U.S. government coordinated the attacks on the food facilities. But, in addition, something remarkable happened: the hard disk with the FASCAT data disappeared.
Since then, there have been about 200 food factory attacks around the world, most of them in the U.S., he explained.
Huff had another backup and analyzed the attacks. It turned out that the attacks exactly matched the most critical systems in his data set. He reported this to the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI but never received a response.
Webmaster addition: Looking for confirmation on this.
Pakistan continues to face what some call a national security crisis.
Recently, in northwestern Pakistan, a suicide bomb resulted in a massacre at a mosque. The body count continues to rise from the horrific incident; now, it’s at least 100. CNN reports, “Police suspect that a suicide bomber used 12 kilograms (26.5 pounds) of explosives, Inspector General of Peshawar Police Moazim Jah Ansari said. The attack left 217 injured, Ansari added.”.
CHD earlier this month appealed a New Jersey district court’s dismissal of the lawsuit, filed in August 2021.
Rutgers has 30 days to respond to CHD’s brief, filed in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit. CHD will have 21 days to file a final response after that. The court will then set up a panel that may hear oral arguments. The court can rule anytime after that.
The appeal seeks to demonstrate the court failed to accept the plaintiffs’ allegations as true, which is the legal standard in a motion to dismiss, said Julio C. Gomez of Gomez LLC, lead counsel in the case.
At the recent annual gathering of global elites in Davos, Saudi Foreign Minister Mohammad Al-Jaddan suggested that the kingdom was open to selling its energy exports to China in Renminbi.
This got the attention of petroleum economists and central bankers alike as both know that, for the last 48 years, Saudi Arabia and the other Persian Gulf Arab states have been pricing and selling their crude exports exclusively in U.S. dollars.
Indeed, it was Richard Nixon’s Treasury Secretary William Simon who struck what was then a secret plan with the Saudis to essentially bankroll America’s widening trade deficits by pricing their oil sales in greenbacks and thereby increasing the amount of dollars in circulation and enhancing the dollar’s position as the global reserve currency. In return, Saudi Arabia would have unique access to U.S. military assistance and equipment.
This bargain made a lot of sense when the United States was the world’s largest importer of Saudi crude. This is no longer the case today, however, as it has been supplanted by China. In fact, China is not only the largest importer of crude and petrochemicals from the kingdom, it is also the largest purchaser of crude and petroleum products from all the Persian Gulf countries.
The past month has been nothing less than traumatic for the Palestinian people.
The massacre in Jenin, ongoing invasions, arrests, home demolitions; 36 people have been killed, eight of them children. Adam Ayyad, 15, was aware that a Palestinian under Israeli apartheid is always a potential target. The handwritten will he carried in his pocket the day he was shot began with the following words: “There were a lot of things I wished I could do, but we live in a country where realizing your dreams is impossible.”
Palestinians are enduring the rise to power of one of the most brazenly racist and brutal governments in the Israeli state’s history.
As soon as Prime Minister Netanyahu had received congratulations from Italy’s fascist prime minister Georgia Meloni and Hungary’s far-right prime minister Victor Orban, who encouraged him that “hard times require strong leaders […] It’s time to do big things,” and had sent condolences to his “dear friend,” India’s Prime Minister and hindutva strongman Narendra Modi, the government went straight to work against Palestinians.
The 1619 Project’s most harebrained idea is that the American Revolution was fought to preserve slavery. Slavery was barbaric, especially in the more southern states. But there was little slavery in the northern colonies, and they would not have risked their lives for its preservation.
The 1619 storyline could not have passed the laugh test unless many Americans were clueless on the British brutality that sparked the war.
Arthur Schlesinger Jr., President John F. Kennedy’s court historian and a revered liberal intellectual, declared in 2004, “Historians today conclude that the colonists were driven to revolt in 1776 because of a false conviction that they faced a British conspiracy to destroy their freedom.” But the British imposition of martial law, suspension of habeas corpus and censorship were not simply deranged fantasies of Thomas Jefferson.
Slavery did help spark the revolution, but it was “slavery by Parliament” — a common derisive phrase in founding-era America. The Declaratory Act of 1766 announced that Parliament “had, hath, and of right ought to have, full power and authority to make laws and statutes of sufficient force and validity to bind the colonies and people of America, subjects of the crown of Great Britain, in all cases whatsoever.”
