"Finally, history has shown that all opposition to entrenched oligarchy arises from the middle classes, who have the surplus of funds needed to challenge the ruling classes. Communism survived for as long as it did because their system designed the middle class out of existence at the very start. The New World Order will have to, indeed already is, following the same model. If the general population only has enough to pay for the next day's rent and food, they will do as they are told." -- Michael Rivero

Under a repressive new act, British nationals could face prison for undermining London’s national security line. Intended to destroy WikiLeaks and others exposing war crimes, the law is a direct threat to critical national security journalism.

It was the afternoon of May 17 2023 and I had just arrived at London’s Luton Airport. I was on my way to the city of my birth to visit my family. Before landing, the pilot instructed all passengers to have their passports ready for inspection immediately upon disembarking the plane. Just then, I noticed a six-strong squad of stone-faced plainclothes British counter-terror officers waited on the tarmac, intensely studying the identification documents of all travelers.

As soon as the cops identified me, I was ordered to accompany them into the airport terminal without explanation. There, I was introduced to two officials whose names I could not learn, who subsequently referred to each other using nondescript callsigns. I was invited to be digitally strip searched, and subjected to an interrogation in which I had no right to silence, no right to refuse to answer questions, and no right to withhold pin numbers for my digital devices or sim cards. If I asserted any rights to privacy, I faced arrest and up to 48 hours in police custody.

Joe Biden and the Democrats are fighting tooth-and-nail for more than $60 billion for Ukraine to further its war with Russia. If only they fought with the same tenacity to help the homeless and mentally ill in America.

Webmaster addition: Yes, let's pour more good money after bad! Biden is bankrupting this nation rather than admit he's lost another war before the election.

The Ukrainian Army has continued to face a worsening deficit of frontline personnel, according to multiple officers recently interviewed by the Washington Post, with the seriousness of the issue raising the growing possibility that the frontlines could soon collapse. The manpower shortages are causing “exhaustion and diminished morale” as many units are unable to rotate from the front, according to the Post, which is exacerbated by increasingly serious shortages of munitions. The deputy commander of one infantry battalion, identifying himself as Nikita, informed the Post regarding the issue: “We have direct trouble with personnel… I’m talking with my friends, also officers in other units, and those in infantry; it’s almost the same situation everywhere.” 41-year-old platoon commander fighting in Avdeevka, identifying as Sergey, said most of his men were over 40 years old and feeling growing strain. “You can feel it; people are exhausted both morally and physically,” he said. The “nearly a dozen” officers and soldiers the paper interviewed concealed their identities, fearing retribution at home for exposing the increasingly desperate state of the country’s armed forces.

Israel is reportedly preparing to launch a ground assault on Rafah, the southernmost part of the Gaza Strip where Gazans have been pushed to flee to. Israel has instructed the 1.4 million refugees sheltering there to evacuate, along with the hundreds of thousands of people who were already living there before, but there doesn’t seem to be anywhere for them to go. This could wind up being the single deadliest phase of Israel’s onslaught to date.

So to summarize, the IDF has been packing the population of Gaza into the southernmost part of the enclave like toothpaste toward the end of a tube, and now they’re going to attack that southernmost part, but it’s totally not genocide and you’re an evil Nazi if you say it is.

This genocide is not a genocide. Ceci n’est pas une pipe.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, referred to Ukraine as an "artificial state shaped at Stalin's will."

The two-hour, seven-minute interview, recorded on February 6th, was released in full on Thursday. This marked Putin's first interview with a Western media figure since the invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022.

During the interview, Putin reiterated his argument that Ukraine was not a legitimate country and was instead formed by the "will" of Soviet leader Josef Stalin. When Carlson suggested that jailed Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich be allowed to return to the US as a show of "goodwill" from Putin, the Russian leader expressed his frustration with the lack of reciprocity from the West, stating that his "goodwill" had run out.

On Thursday, Special Counsel Robert Hur, who had been investigating US President Joe Biden’s handling of classified documents following his time as Vice President, announced that he would not bring charges against the president.

What should have been cause for celebration for Democrats quickly turned into horror as Hurr’s reasoning for not bringing charges spread across the internet. Hur noted Biden’s cooperation with investigators and the nature of the documents as reasons not to bring charges, but also noted Biden’s failing mental capabilities as a reason they would have difficulty convincing a jury that there was intent behind Biden’s removal of the documents, saying his defense would present him as a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”

“Who blew up Nord Stream?” Carlson asked Putin at the midpoint of his two-hour-long interview. “You, for sure,” Putin jokingly replied. “I was busy that day. I did not blow up Nord Stream,” Carlson assured. “You personally may have an alibi, but the CIA has no such alibi,” Putin answered.

“You know, I won’t go into details, but people always say in such cases: ‘look for someone who is interested’. But in this case we should not only look for someone who is interested, but also for someone who has the capabilities. Because there may be many people interested, but not all of them are capable of going to the bottom of the Baltic Sea and carrying out this explosion,” Putin continued. “It is clear to the whole world what happened, and even American analysts talk about it directly,” Putin said, citing evidence laid out publicly about Washington’s responsibility for the Nord Stream attack.

Exhibit One is something for the ages. It deserves a full quote – complete with colorful English translation:

“Western politicians who have shat their pants and their mediocre generals in NATO have once again decided to scare us. They launched the largest military exercises since the Cold War.

These involve 90,000 soldiers from 31 countries of the Alliance and ‘almost block’ Sweden, about 50 warships, 80 aircraft, 1,100 ground combat vehicles, including 133 tanks.

Some stages are expected to take place in the most blatantly Russophobic and most disgusting countries to us, such as Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, that is, in close proximity to Russia’s borders.

The NATO blabbers were afraid to directly say who these exercises are aimed against, and limited themselves to empty chatter about ‘practicing defense plans and deterring potential aggression from the nearest opponents’.

But it is quite obvious that this convulsion of flabby Western muscles is a warning to our country. It’s like they’re saying, shouldn’t we properly threaten Russia and show the Russian hedgehog a fat transgender European ass.

It turned out not scary, but very significant.

British rulers think they can start a war against Russia. They can’t even contain Yemeni fighters in the Red Sea. And its top-notch aircraft carrier just got towed away before it even saw action.

Delusions about “Great Britain” and its military power are laughable. Britain is nothing but a rogue state whose arrogance and delusions are – like its American overseer – a danger to global security and peace.

Britain’s Royal Navy flagship, the recently built aircraft carrier Queen Elizabeth, has embarrassingly been forced to pull out of a major NATO war drill due to a mechanical breakdown.

HMS Queen Elizabeth is supposed to be the showpiece of Britain’s military firepower. Built for $5 billion, the warship is spanking new. It is billed as a “super-carrier”. The vessel is not just a flagship for the Royal Navy. It is a flagship for Britain.

In the depths of the pandemic, as global supply chains buckled and the cost of shipping a container to China soared nearly twentyfold, Marco Villarreal spied an opportunity.

In 2021, Mr. Villarreal resigned as Caterpillar’s director general in Mexico and began nurturing ties with companies looking to shift manufacturing from China to Mexico. He found a client in Hisun, a Chinese producer of all-terrain vehicles, which hired Mr. Villarreal to establish a $152 million manufacturing site in Saltillo, an industrial hub in northern Mexico.

Mr. Villarreal said foreign companies, particularly those seeking to sell within North America, saw Mexico as a viable alternative to China for several reasons, including the simmering trade tensions between the United States and China.

“The stars are aligning for Mexico,” he said.

It’s no secret that the border crisis will fundamentally change the United States. Under President Biden, over six million illegal aliens have entered the country in just 3 years. Evidence has long suggested that illegal immigration hurts black and working Americans more than anyone else.

Despite all the warning signs, President Biden appears unwilling to use the authority he already has to shut down the border.

A bi-partisan study from Congress took a look at the toll this border crisis will have on the country. They looked at a variety of factors, including how it will affect many American families. And they made this sobering prediction.

From Breitbart:
President Joe Biden’s flood of migrants will force down Americans’ wages over the next 10 years, says a report by the Congress’ non-partisan team of economic experts.

"As you know, initially, the president of Mexico, el-Sisi, did not want to open up the gate to allow humanitarian material to get in," Biden said during a press conference at the White House. "I talked to him. I convinced him to open the gate."

Special counsel Robert Hur's report said "[Biden] did not remember when he was vice president" and forgot "when his term began."

"He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died."

Judging by Biden's comments above, he seems to have also forgot he's funding Israel's ethnic cleansing campaign and bypassed Congress to send Israel tons of bombs to drop on their civilian population.

As the Israeli attack on Gaza, Lebanon and Syria intensifies, the U.S. public watch on aghast. A new poll finds that Americans support a permanent ceasefire by a more than 2:1 ratio (including the vast majority of Democrats and a plurality of Republicans).

And yet, despite this, only 4% of elected members of the House support even a temporary ceasefire, and the United States continues to veto U.N. resolutions working towards ending the violence. Walter Hixson, a historian concentrating on U.S. foreign relations, told MintPress News:

Unfettered support for Israel and the lobby consistently puts the United States at odds with international human rights organizations and the vast majority of nations over Israel’s war crimes and blatant violations of international law. The current U.N. vote on a ceasefire in Gaza [which the U.S. vetoed] is just the latest example.”

Here, Hixson is referring to the pro-Israel lobby, a loose connection of influential groups that spend millions on pressure campaigns, outreach programs, and donations to American politicians, all with one goal in mind: making sure the United States supports the Israeli government’s policies full stop, including backing Israeli expansion, blocking Palestinian statehood and opposing a growing boycott divestment and sanctions movement (BDS) at home.

Internationally, Israel has lost virtually all its support. But it still has one major backer: the United States government. Part of this is undoubtedly down to the extraordinary lengths the lobby goes to secure backing, including showering U.S. politicians with millions of dollars in contributions. In this investigation, MintPress News breaks down the top ten currently serving politicians who have taken the most pro-Israel cash since 1990.

Claire's Observations:  When "Deep throat" told Woodward and Bernstein to "Follow the money" on the Watergate debacle, nothing could be  more true now, than  with the bought and paid for" Israel-Firsters" in our  government; why, in heaven's name, are they NOT required to register as "an agent of a foreign country"??!?!?!?

Scientists have used artificial intelligence to decode text on papyrus that was rolled and charred 2,000 years ago. So AI now looks back as well as forward.

Three young scientists have won the grand prize in the Vesuvius Challenge for deciphering passages on a previously unreadable Herculaneum scroll.

More than a thousand scrolls were buried and covered in volcanic debris when Mount Vesuvius erupted about 2,000 years ago. They were in a library at a Roman villa in the ancient city of Herculaneum and discovered in the 1800s by a local farmer.

Many people have tried to read the ancient papyrus scrolls since then, but most attempts have destroyed the documents, which were left underground rolled, carbonized and fragile, for centuries.

The winners — Youssef Nader, Luke Farritor and Julian Schilliger — overcame this challenge by managing to read four passages without ever unrolling the scrolls.

Winning the Vesuvius Challenge

They used machine learning, a form of artificial intelligence, to read the ancient Greek text. Nadery, Farritor and Schillinger independently contributed to the Vesuvius scrolls community and now share the grand prize of $700,000 (€650,000).

The object was to decipher four passages of text, each of at least 140 characters, with at least 85% of characters "recoverable" — or readable.

Their work has revealed what are believed to be unknown texts by Philodemus, the villa's so-called philosopher-in-residence.

In the text, Philodemus writes about living a good life through the pleasures of beauty, music and food. Researchers say this and future discoveries in the texts will give them a "unique window into the classical world."

How scientists used AI to read a Herculaneum scroll

The scrolls were digitally "unwrapped" using computed tomography (CT) — or X-ray photos — and machine-learning technology.

First, in late 2023, the prize organizers had the scrolls imaged at the Diamond Light Source particle accelerator near Oxford in the UK. That produced high-resolution CT scans of scrolls.

The scans were then turned into a 3D volume of voxels. Voxels are 3D pixels, similar to the building blocks used in the video game Minecraft.

The second step is known as segmentation. They traced crumpled layers of the rolled papyrus in the 3D scan. That allowed them to unroll, or flatten, the images.

And the third step was detecting ink on papyrus. They used machine learning to identify regions of ink in the flattened segments of the papyrus.

But this is where it gets very clever. The machine-learning model was not trained to spot ancient Greek letters, optical character recognition (OCR), or any other language models.

Instead, it simply detected spots of ink in the CT scan and then combined and reconstructed each individual spot — and where letters appeared, that's where there was writing.

Claire's Observations;  that these young people used contemporary technology to help unravel the past, is a wonderful, and brilliant application of AI, which will ultimately have universal applications for a better understanding of human history;  well done, all, well done!!

MSNBC host Al Sharpton said Friday on “Deadline” that he believed Special Counsel Robert Hur’s “political report” on President Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents is meant to “impact an election.”

Host Alicia Menendez said, “I wanted to have you on with us because I want to know what you thought about what was in the report?”

Sharpton said, “I thought that when I read what Hur said, that Hur is being a 21st century, or 24, I should say, 2024 version of James Comey. He is clearly trying to effect an election, impact an election. Because you have to ask yourself, why would he even be questioning Joe Biden about when did his son die? If somebody is coming and questioning me, thank God none of my two children are dead, but why would they ask me when my mother died? Do I remember the date? So to even ask it is suspect. Then to put it in a report that has nothing to do with that and then to go through other things, it’s clearly a political report.”

He added, “The good news, though, is it’s done in February, not right before an election. I think that the American people are smarter than they think they are.”

Claire's Observations:  Reverend Sharpton, a word, please; you are right about the American people "being smarter than "THEY" (read:  the Dementocrats in charge of Biden's re-election bid) think they are.  And Reverend, let's get down to brass tacks here, shall we?!?  It wasn't just the report:  it was the Biden news conference which followed, in which the grumpy, combative, confused, and dementia-addled Biden appeared at his absolute worst. Are these the qualities we want in the so-called "Leader of the Free World"?!?  Sir, respectfully, I do not believe so.

And the Dementocrats have a real problem this year; they can't keep Biden in the basement forever this time, as Trump is calling for a one-on-one debates with Biden soon, and this is something the American people want to - and deserve - to see.

And as the dementia progresses, (because it is not a disease which can actually be stopped, only arrested for a time with medication), all of this country will see the absolute truth about Biden's mental state.  And the question about the date of the son's death?!?  One might surely think that was a question about an horrific  "landmark moment" in Biden's life, as it would be in any parent's memory who lost a child,  something etched indelibly on their minds and souls; yet he could not remember it.

But Reverend, instead of attempting to "scorch the report", which Americans knew would be your best, and only card to play, I have another proposal; why don't you and your Party actually find a candidate all of American would like to see as President?!?  Because the smarter, thinking folks right now would rather elect an orangutan as President than re-elect Biden, after his handlers' string of disastrous domestic and foreign policies.  A national deficit which is blowing up on a daily basis; wars all over the place (with another about to start between Venezuela and Guyana over oil), and a non-existent Southern Border; are these the hallmarks of a successful  US administration?!?  Reverend, again, I think not!!!

This week, 17 Senate Republicans joined Democrats to approve sending Ukraine another $60 billion. Twelve of those Republicans previously suggested they would not help send Ukraine any more American taxpayer money until the United States’s border was secure from illegal immigration.

On Thursday, Sens. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Susan Collins (R-ME), John Cornyn (R-TX), Joni Ernst (R-IA), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), John Kennedy (R-LA), Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Jerry Moran (R-KS), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Mitt Romney (R-UT), Mike Rounds (R-SD), Dan Sullivan (R-AK), John Thune (R-SD), Thom Tillis (R-NC), Roger Wicker (R-MS), and Todd Young (R-IN) joined every Senate Democrat excluding Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) to send billions more in taxpayer dollars to Ukraine.

The money, if approved by the House, will fund weapons and military training, among other things, for Ukraine in its war with Russia.

Claire's Observations:  I have to wonder how being so vilely traitorous to the real needs and concerns of one's constituents, has become so lucrative that these people signed off on these billions for Ukraine, and chose to completely ignore the state of this country's (non-existent) Southern border.  But hey, dirt cheap labor" uber alles"  must be firmly established to appease their Corporate donors,. right?!?  Of course, right!!!!!

Biden, 81, 'plans to make AG Merrick Garland fall-guy for bombshell special counsel report that branded him senile old man,' as aide releases panicked statement and insiders claim better MAKE-UP could help solve age issue

  • Department of Justice released its investigation into Joe Biden's mishandling of classified documents, delivering a damning assessment of his limited memory
  • But the president, 81, has informed his aides and advisers that Garland didn't do enough to rein in the report written by Special Counsel Robert Hur
  • Democrat insiders have also claimed more time working on Biden's makeup could help ease concerns about his age

Claire's Observations:  Dear Lord, just make this stop!!  It's not the bloody makeup; it's the bloody dementia, and no amount of the world's best makeup can cover this up!!!

I am having a double face-palm moment, at velocity, upon reading this.  Are the Demonocrats in charge of his "re-election campaign" so blindly stupid, that they don't understand that thinking voters would rather vote for an orangutan, than trust him with another 4 years of utterly botched, flamingly failed foreign and domestic policies?!?  Absolutely unflipping believable!!!!!!
