One person has been killed in a 'Houthi rebel' drone strike on Tel Aviv after the Israeli military detected the aerial weapon but didn't shoot it down 'due to human error'.

Yemen's Houthi group claimed responsibility for the attack that caused an explosion at a building near the US embassy, which along with one dead, left at least a further 10 injured, according to reports.

An Israeli military official told a briefing that 'a very big drone that can travel long distances crashed into an apartment building' at 03.12am local time.

The official, who remained anonymous, said the aim was 'terrorism', with the rebel group's 'main goal to kill civilians in Israel'.

The dismal contrast between Joe Biden and Donald Trump was laid bare for CNN viewers by Van Jones after he tasted the mood at the RNC ahead of their nominee's speech this evening.

The progressive commentator grimly summed up the gulf between the candidates' standing as Trump prepared for a rapturous reception and Biden holed up in Delaware to nurse his Covid.

'A bullet couldn't stop Trump. A virus just stopped Biden,' the former Barack Obama adviser noted.

'You've got the nominees of this party getting their butts kissed, Biden is getting his butt kicked by his own party.

'The Democrats are coming apart. The Republicans are coming together.'

Multiples sources outline the apparent state of play on Biden at this time:

  • Plans to announce withdrawal from nomination as early as this weekend, with Sunday most likely
  • Jon Meacham polishing up remarks
  • Biden with NOT resign the presidency
  • Biden will NOT endorse Harris
  • Open convention with Harris and about 3 others
  • Super delegates will not be allowed to vote on 1st ballot
  • Harris is vetting at least four possible running mates, including Andy Beshear and possibly Shapiro

Biden's odds of getting the party nomination have now utterly collapsed, barely above those of Newsom as Kamala is the lead...

Update (1130ET): It appears the situation is escalating fast in Democratic Party central this morning.

Axios reports that President Biden may decide to drop out of the presidential race as soon as this weekend, according to several top Democrats who believe the rising pressure will persuade the incumbent.

The 81-year-old president, now self-isolating with COVID, remains publicly dug in.

But privately he's resigned to mounting pressure, bad polls, and untenable scrutiny making it impossible to continue his campaign, the Democrats tell us.

The notorious Venezuelan migrant who encouraged other border crossers to squat in US homes and collect benefits may have once been a spy.

Leonel Moreno was allegedly a sergeant of the Venezuelan general directorate of military intelligence prior to crossing in Eagle Pass, Texas on April 23, 2023, federal authorities told the New York Post.

They said they have been looking into Moreno's past since he was arrested in March, but are having difficulty finding any information about him, as the Venezuelan government has been uncooperative with US authorities.

One Border Patrol agent even told the Post they have 'no access to anything international.

'I wanted to get into Border Patrol and protect from terrorists,' the unidentified agent said. 'And it's like, well, I probably let terrorists into the country.'

Hunter Biden is desperately trying to throw out his criminal gun conviction charges and a separate tax evasion case by claiming the person prosecuting him was unlawfully appointed.

The younger Biden's lawyers referenced a federal judge's decision Monday dismissing charges against Donald Trump for illegally holding onto classified documents after office.

In that decision, Florida District Judge Aileen Cannon found the appointment of Jack Smith, the special counsel in the classified documents case, violated the Constitution because he was not authorized by Congress to pursue the charges.

The legal maneuver comes after the Supreme Court's decision weeks ago to grant Trump presidential immunity in the documents case in which Justice Clarence Thomas wrote that Smith was improperly appointed.

Thomas Crooks threatened to 'shoot up' his high school when he was just 15-years-old in an incident that wasn't taken seriously at the time but is now being probed by the FBI, DailyMail.com can reveal.

Federal officers on Thursday visited Crooks's former classmate Vincent Taormina, 20, to quiz him about the shooter's 'hatred' of politicians and the threats he made as a freshman at Bethel Park High School.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com Taormina said, 'We had like this anonymous place you could post things or tell on someone on our computers at school and he posted something like 'Don't come to school tomorrow,' and something else that made it sound like he'd put bombs in the cafeteria bathrooms.

'Half of us just didn't come to school the next day – I didn't. But it wasn't taken seriously.

The CIA said Thursday it gave false information to Congress about the “Spies Who Lie” who suggested incriminating documents from Hunter Biden’s laptop were Russian disinformation.

In the stunning twist that’s heightening congressional doubts about the impartiality and reliability of America’s premier spy agency, the CIA said in a letter acquired by The Post that former agency acting director Michael Morell was not a contractor at the time he organized the October 2020 laptop statement.

A Tennessee boutique owner wants landlords to remove a giant Joe Biden campaign banner from above her shop — saying it caused sales to plunge and forced her to bring a gun to work for protection against folks fired up about politics.

Angie Monahan, who owns Honey Blossom Boutique in Lenior City,  was gobsmacked when she arrived at work Saturday and spotted the roughly 20-foot-by-10-foot sign hanging from the upper floor of the building where she rents her shop, she told The Post.

America’s highly esteemed president who should be called Doodle-Head every time he opens his mouth came out with a beauty last Tuesday, claiming that if it weren’t for the existence of Israel “every Jew in the world would be at risk.” No Joe, you got it wrong. The reality is that Israeli behavior is precisely what fuels anger directed against what might be referred to as the “International Jewish Conspiracy,” whereby the wealthy and powerful Jewish diaspora enables Israel to literally get away with war crimes and mass murder without any consequences. Joe has also said the he has done more for the Palestinians than anyone, which means that he finds some benefit in watching them die under relentless bombardment by Israel with US provided munitions.

This ability to twist perceptions of what is going on in the Middle East and also at home based on a grossly exaggerated standard narrative of perpetual Jewish suffering means that Jewish groups benefit from a double standard that enables them to avoid condemnation for their over-the-top manipulation of government and other institutions with avoidance of any penalty for their activity. Matt Brooks, the CEO of the Republican Jewish Coalition spoke Tuesday at the RNC, providing the standard line about poor suffering American Jewry, saying “President Trump will bring back law and order so that American Jews can once again wear a kippah and walk the streets without fear,” while waving a kippah with Trump’s name embroidered on it. This playing the perpetual victim is true in the United States most particularly, but it also works in Britain, France, Canada and Germany where fundamental rights like freedom of speech are under attack to protect the state of Israel.

On Wednesday, an image that went viral on X noted that some of the most prominent Republicans were not taking part in the Republican National Convention.

The names included former President George W. Bush, former Vice President Mike Pence, 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, former Rep. Liz Cheney (Wy.) and 2012 vice presidential nominee and former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.

Each of these Republicans were, and are, committed to the neoconservative version of the GOP that guided and defined their party two decades ago. A fantasy world in which the Bush-Cheney administration remained the Republican archetype, the U.S. invading Iraq was the right decision, and, in that spirit, America’s number one mission today is to send taxpayer dollars to Ukraine to fuel an indefinite proxy war with Russia.

In their time, hawkish foreign policy was the primary definition of what it meant to be a Republican. That agenda is still definitely part of the party, particularly among its entrenched establishment. But at the top, the Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has said the Bush administration “lied” Americans into Iraq in 2003. His vice presidential choice, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, served in Iraq, now fiercely opposes that war, and also loudly rejects the U.S. funding of the Russia-Ukraine war.

Something is different now.

The New York City Department of Health (NYC Health) is solidifying its erroneous stance that preborn babies are not human beings, as it plans to toss a requirement on how their bodies should be handled.

According to the New York Post, in a unanimous vote, NYC Health has decided to throw away the requirement that babies aborted at or after 24 weeks (that’s approximately six months of pregnancy) be treated as human beings and sent to funeral homes for a proper burial or cremation. Instead, the abortion facilities can keep the bodies on-premises to do what they please with them. There will be a public hearing on the matter on August 15. Comments must be submitted by August 1.

“The Department is proposing to amend the Health Code Articles 203 and 205 to eliminate the requirement that any conceptus that has completed 24 or more weeks of gestation be disposed of as human remains,” the proposal reads. “Disposition as human remains would remain available upon request by those who desire burial or cremation.”

The nation was shocked by the failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Even Democrats spoke out supporting the Republican candidate, disavowing any form of violence against him. Some media outlets changed their tune (at least for now), showing Trump and his family some basic, human decency. It is likely this harrowing event will alter the political climate of the country.

The attack on Trump has also thrown the Democrats’ plans for 2024 for a loop. It seems they fear how much this event will help Trump’s chances.

Biden was already a weak candidate, due to his cognitive decline. But now? How is he going to beat a man who survived an attempt on his life? Will Democrats work even harder to get rid of him before their convention? I guess that all depends on whether this assassination attempt is really going to help Trump’s chances, right? Well now, we are getting our first post-assassination polls. How are voters viewing the election, after a gunman tried to kill Trump? All we can say is, Biden might want to back his bags.

The Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle somehow thought it would be a good idea to show up to the Republican National Convention on Wednesday just days after an assassination attempt on the former President Donald Trump happened on her watch.

Unfortunately for her, however, it didn’t take long before it became apparent that she had made a huge mistake.

Video is going viral showing a group of Republican Senators angrily confronting Cheatle. They represent the millions of conservatives who blame the Secret Service’s incompetence for allowing the shooting against Trump to happen in the first place.

The Secret Service has rightfully received tons of backlash in recent days. Despite this, Cheatle has still defiantly refused to step down. After seeing the reception that she got at the RNC, however, we wouldn’t be surprised if Cheatle is regretting that now.

Things seemingly keep getting worse for President Joe Biden by the day. He hit a new low-point on Wednesday, when a poll revealed that nearly two-thirds of Americans want him to drop out of the presidential race.

That’s why it came as no surprise on Thursday when Biden made a move that shows that he’s reached a new level of desperation. Feeling that they had no other option to win over voters, the Biden administration announced today that they will forgive another $1.2 billion in student loans.

This move will cover the debt for 35,000 people through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. It means that a total of 4.76 million people have received relief from the Biden administration.

Biden wasted no time in taking a victory lap after announcing this.

Former President Barack Obama has told allies that President Joe Biden should seriously consider whether he should stay in the race, as speculation grows he could drop out within days.

The Washington Post reported Thursday that Obama - who's only spoken to Biden once since the disastrous debate - believes Biden's path to victory has greatly diminished, but thinks the president needs to make the decision to quit himself.

Obama's view on the state of the race comes after Axios reported that Democratic sources believe the drumbeat to exit the race from party leaders and friends will push Biden to make the decision to step aside as early as this weekend.

'It feels the most real it's ever been,' one senior House Democratic aide told DailyMail.com. Another senior Democratic Hill aide told DailyMail.com that chances are 'high' that Biden pulls the plug but the timing is 'fluid.'

A defiant Biden has insisted publicly that he will be the Democratic nominee and only God or a 'medical condition' would compel him to bow out. So far, he's been supported by family members, first lady Jill Biden and son Hunter, in the decision to stay put.

The letter highlighted the increasing opposition on the left to Netanyahu’s speech. Several Democratic lawmakers have announced plans to boycott the address, while others say they will attend solely out of respect for "Israel".

Scientists were stunned on May 30 when a rock that NASA’s Curiosity Mars rover drove over cracked open to reveal something never seen before on the Red Planet: yellow sulfur crystals.

Since October 2023, the rover has been exploring a region of Mars rich with sulfates, a kind of salt that contains sulfur and forms as water evaporates. But where past detections have been of sulfur-based minerals — in other words, a mix of sulfur and other materials — the rock Curiosity recently cracked open is made of elemental, or pure, sulfur. It isn’t clear what relationship, if any, the elemental sulfur has to other sulfur-based minerals in the area.

While people associate sulfur with the odor from rotten eggs (the result of hydrogen sulfide gas), elemental sulfur is odorless. It forms in only a narrow range of conditions that scientists haven’t associated with the history of this location. And Curiosity found a lot of it — an entire field of bright rocks that look similar to the one the rover crushed.

In the 1948 presidential race, the Chicago Tribune printed one of the greatest errors in journalism when the morning headline read “Dewey defeats Truman.”  In an effort to get ahead of the competition, the Tribune printed that headline based on polling and early election reports.

If President Biden withdraws, the headline atop this commentary will be one hundred percent accurate.  President Trump will have forced Biden out of the race because he has been determined to be a sure loser by virtually every major leader and donor in his Democratic Party – and most of the left-wing media.  Trump WILL have beaten Biden – not in the election but because they threw in the towel in the face of a terrible beating.

If Biden resists the seemingly insurmountable pressure to pass the baton, whether Trump beats Biden in November is an unresolved question, but not a completely unforeseen outcome.  The fact is that many top Democrat leaders believe Biden will surely lose – and lose so badly that he will cost Democrats the Senate … surrender any hope of taking control of the House … and kick off a tsunami of Democrat losses downstream.  That is not my assessment, but the predictions of the most knowledgeable people in the Democratic Party – the people who are letting it be known to Biden and the American people that they want him out … period.

And why not?

According to the criminal indictment made public in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday, Terry, 54, failed to register as a foreign agent and conspired to violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

Prosecutors claim that, beginning in 2013 and continuing for a decade following, Terry received luxury gifts provided by South Korean intelligence officers in return for her promoting South Korea’s policy positions and disclosing nonpublic government information. Prosecutors also allege that Terry wrote opinion pieces at the request of South Korean officials, using information provided by them.
