Salaries: According to Moneywise, salaries have fallen by an average of 8.2% over the last five years. This decline in salaries can have significant implications for individuals and households, affecting their purchasing power and financial stability. House Prices: Despite the decline in salaries, house prices have risen by an average of 56% during the same period. The increase in house prices can be attributed to various factors, including demand-supply dynamics, low interest rates, and speculative investment in real estate.

Turkey closed the Bab al-Hawa crossing on Syria's northern border amid clashes between occupying Turkish forces and armed demonstrators, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported Tuesday.

Turkey announced the closure of the crossing to travelers, patients, commercial trucks, and humanitarian aid convoys until further notice without specifying a date for its reopening. crossing is the most important between Turkey and northern Syria, where Turkish forces established a buffer zone to prevent the presence of US-backed Kurdish forces near the Turkey border.

The Bab al-Hawa crossing is also the only artery for the entry of UN aid trucks and the exit of patients to receive treatment in Turkish hospitals.

Turkey additionally closed the Bab al-Salam, Al-Rai, and Jarablus border crossings as protests erupted against the Turkish presence in northern Syria following mob attacks on Syrian refugees in central Turkey

House Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) has become the first House Democrat to publicly urge President Biden to quit the 2024 race following last week's debate performance which showed the commander-in-chief's obvious dementia on full display.

Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX)

Doggett, who has been a member of the House since 1995, says he had hoped the debate against Trump would "provide some momentum" to sagging poll numbers, but that "Instead of reassuring voters, the President failed to effectively defend his many accomplishments and expose Trump’s many lies."

"My decision to make these strong reservations public is not done lightly nor does it in any way diminish my respect for all that President Biden has achieved," said Doggett. "Recognizing that, unlike Trump, President Biden’s first commitment has always been to our country, not himself, I am hopeful that he will make the painful and difficult decision to withdraw. I respectfully call on him to do so."

Claire's Observations:  Representative Doggett, a word, please.  What Biden (actually, his handlers, very much including former President Obama) has "achieved" is the following:  Two wars, one of which  which will possibly result in World War III; a completely broken border, with at least hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants who must be fed; clothed; housed, taken care of medically, and educated, to the tune of billions of dollars the US government the US government doesn't have (carrying a debt of $35 trillion); and massive inflation.

You can certainly call these "accomplishments" if you want; I call all of this a deep, lasting betrayal of the American people, for which you and the other By-di-Bidenistas should be thoroughly ashamed.

Ukraine is too corrupt to join NATO, the US is set to tell leader Volodymyr Zelensky in a major blow to his nation's security ambitions.

The defence bloc will request at its annual summit next week, in Washington DC, that Ukraine takes 'additional steps before formal membership talks progress', a senior US official told the Telegraph

Zelensky has been pushing for NATO ascension after Russia's brutal invasion ends to protect itself from future invasion, as the pact compels its members to militarily defend allies if they are attacked.

But corruption, among other issues, has been a major thorn in the Ukrainian leader's side, blocking further relations with the West from developing.

The fallout from the debate disaster just five days ago has left the party scrambling fro its immediate and long-term future, one that presumably wouldn't involve Biden.

Now, pollster Ipsos tested several elected an unelected Democrats head-to-head with Biden and only one would beat him, according to their survey.

A top pollster says there's only one Democrat who can beat Trump but they haven't even campaigned for Joe Biden yet this election season

Michelle Obama, the former First Lady of the United States, currently polls with a massive 50-39 lead over former President Trump.

Obama, 60, has never sought nor held any elected office but has often been seen as a dream candidate given her broad popularity.

Webmaster addition: BULL BISCUITS! As this article admits, Michelle has never held office and lacks the skills needed to be President. Of course, Michelle in the White House would in reality be Barack's fourth and possibly fifth term.

Jean-Pierre discussed her experiences working for two of the most notoriously disgraced men in Democrat Party history: Philanderer, ex-North Carolina Senator and failed presidential candidate John Edwards and former New York Congressman and convicted sex pest Anthony Weiner.

Weiner's name has remained in the news over the years, after he spent time engulfed in a number of high-profile scandals that doomed his political ambitions and sent him to jail.

According to a recent report from Redfin, less than half (47%) of newly constructed apartments completed in the fourth quarter of 2024 were rented within three months. This figure represents a significant decline from the previous year when 60% of new apartments were rented within the same timeframe. In fact, it’s the lowest seasonally-adjusted share on record aside from the first quarter of 2020, during the onset of the pandemic.

A confidential polling memo circulating among anxious Democrats is confirming some of their worst fears: President Joe Biden’s support has started to tumble in key electoral battlegrounds in the wake of his disastrous debate performance in Atlanta, and Biden’s diminished standing is now putting previously noncompetitive states like New Hampshire, Virginia, and New Mexico in play for Donald Trump. What’s more, Biden has taken such a reputational hit that he is polling behind other alternative Democratic candidates—including Kamala Harris and Gretchen Whitmer—in hypothetical one-on-one matchups against Trump.

Hunter Biden has joined White House meetings this week after spending the weekend at Camp David with his dad on the heels of President Joe Biden's disastrous debate performance.

NBC News reported Tuesday on Hunter's presence on calls and in meetings on the White House campus as the 81-year-old president's political future hangs in the balance.

Hunter was convicted last month on felony gun charges and is still under indictment for tax crimes though 'popped into' a couple of meetings, one source said.

'What the hell is happening?' has been the reaction of some senior staff, another source told the network.

Hunter's addiction to crack cocaine and his foreign business dealings have been a years-long political headache for his father, yet Biden has kept his only living son close.

President Joe Biden blamed his globetrotting ahead of Thursday's disastrous debate for his poor performance.

The 81-year-old president made the concession during a fundraiser in the ritzy D.C. suburb of McLean, Virginia Tuesday night.

He told the crowd he 'wasn't very smart' for 'traveling around the world a couple times' before his showdown with presumptive Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump.

'I decided to travel around the world a couple of times … shortly before the debate …I didn’t listen to my staff … and then I almost fell asleep on stage,' the president said

He added, 'It's not an excuse but an explanation.'

Webmaster addition: Biden had several days at Camp David to rest up before the debate.

This is presidential power on life support – and Jill Biden is refusing to pull the plug.

For someone who ridiculously insists on being called 'Dr.' — Jill is not a medical doctor, or even a PhD, just America's most famous community college teacher — well, Jill seems quite the opposite.

What she is doing to her husband is arguably elder abuse, and what she's doing to the nation is unforgivable.

It's not enough that The New York Times, the day after last Thursday's calamitous debate, called on President Biden to step down.

Or that the New Yorker, The Economist, the Chicago Tribune, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution have all, too, called for Biden to go.

A group of former United States government officials have claimed that Washington’s support for Israel’s war in Gaza puts national security at risk.

The 12 officials, who resigned over the last nine months protesting against the US policy, said in a letter released late on Tuesday that President Joe Biden’s support for Israel means that Washington has “undeniable complicity” in the killing and starvation of Palestinians in Gaza. They labelled the White House policy on the war in the enclave “a failure and a threat to US national security”.

Israel’s top generals want a ceasefire in Gaza even if it keeps Hamas in power, putting them at odds with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, The New York Times reported on Wednesday.

The report, which cited current and former security officials, said one reason Israel’s top brass favored a pause in Gaza was so that the Israeli military could recuperate to prepare for a full-blown war against Hezbollah in Lebanon

They also believe a ceasefire in Gaza could reduce tensions on the Israel-Lebanon border and make it easier to reach a deal with Lebanon, although Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has previously said a pause in Gaza would be an escalation in Lebanon.

The Israeli military also believes a deal with Hamas is the best way to safely free the remaining Israeli hostages in Gaza. “The military is in full support of a hostage deal and a ceasefire,” former Israeli National Security Advisor Eyal Hulata told the Times.

Nine members of the same family who evacuated Khan Younis were killed by an Israeli airstrike on Tuesday in an area of the central Gaza city of Deir al-Balah that Israel declared a so-called “safe zone,” The Associated Press has reported.

Around a dozen members of the Hamdan family fled Khan Younis after Israel gave an evacuation order for the eastern portion of the city, which the UN said will impact about 250,000 Palestinians. The Hamdans found refuge with extended relatives in Deir al-Balah, only for most of them to be slaughtered.

According to AP, a total of 12 people were killed in the Israeli strike on the “safe zone,” including five children and three women. Israel has repeatedly bombed areas it declared safe in Gaza, including the al-Mawasi camp on the coast, which is where the Israeli military said Palestinians evacuating Khan Younis should go.

A former US military intelligence analyst has warned that Israel is risking a major war in Lebanon for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s political survival.

Former US Army Maj. Harrison Mann resigned from the Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency earlier this year over the US’s backing of the Israeli slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza and has been speaking out against President Biden’s policy of full-throated support for Israel.

In comments to The Guardian, Mann said, “We know specifically that the Israeli prime minister must continue to be a wartime leader if he wants to prolong his political career and stay out of court, so that motivation is there.”

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin hosted his Ukrainian counterpart in Washington on Tuesday and said the US would soon announce a $2.3 billion weapons package for Ukraine.

“I am proud that the United States will soon announce more than $2.3 billion in new security assistance for Ukraine,” Austin said alongside Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

Austin said the package would include air defense inceptors, anti-tank weapons, and other munitions. It will be provided through Presidential Drawdown Authority, which allows the US to ship weapons directly from Pentagon stockpiles.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban made his first wartime visit to Ukraine on Tuesday and suggested to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that he agree to a ceasefire with Russia.

Zelensky’s so-called “peace formula,” which he has been pushing as a way to end the war, requires a full Russian withdrawal from Ukraine before negotiations can even happen, a non-starter for talks with Moscow. Orban said he told Zelensky that he should consider agreeing to a ceasefire first.

“I asked the president to think about whether we could reverse the order, and speed up peace talks, with making a ceasefire first,” Orban said at a joint press conference with the Ukrainian leader. “A ceasefire connected to a deadline would give a chance to speed up peace talks. I explored this possibility with the president and I am grateful for his honest answers and negotiation.”

Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has reiterated the death penalty for Palestinian detainees as a “much simpler solution” to overcrowding in Israeli jails, as officials continued to trade accusations over the issue sparked by the release of the director of Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital.

Shin Bet, the General Security Service, accused the Israeli government and Ben-Gvir of ignoring months of warnings that huge amounts of additional detainee space were needed to absorb thousands of new detainees due to the ongoing military offensive in Gaza, reported the Anadolu news agency.

In the West Bank, 100 students were killed and 494 others were injured.

In addition, around 349 students were detained.

A group of Republican lawmakers has introduced legislation that seeks to force US universities to fully disclose how they will manage Gaza solidarity encampments that have swept the nation's schools over the past several months.

If it passes, the legislation will change some language within the Higher Education Act of 1965 to mandate that universities receiving federal funds disclose the measures it takes to "respond to incidents of civil disturbance occurring on the campus".

The legislation, introduced by Elise Stefanik and Jim Banks, joins a chorus of other bills and attempts by Republicans in Congress to stifle pro-Palestinian activism on college campuses, which has spiked since Israel's war on Gaza began last October.

Russia’s gas giant Gazprom shipped 23% higher volumes of natural gas via pipeline to Europe in June compared to the same month last year, according to estimates by Reuters.

Gazprom’s pipeline gas deliveries averaged a daily volume of 81.8 million cubic meters (mcm) in June, up from 66.8 mcm in June last year, per the Reuters calculations based on data from European gas transmission group Entsog and Gazprom’s daily reports on gas transit via Ukraine.

Gazprom’s export volumes in June 2024 declined from the 89.5 mcm daily volume in May, due to maintenance on TurkStream in early June.

The US Army has received the first batch of armored vehicles at its newest military storehouse in west-central Poland.

Opened in April 2023, the Powidz Army Prepositioned Stocks-2 (APS-2) was established to keep, sustain, and distribute allied armored brigades for their respective forces deployed on NATO’s eastern flank.

The facility’s placement reduces logistics timelines for training, operations, and response in the event of a conflict in the region.

The Powidz APS-2 facility accepted 14 M1A2 Abrams main battle tanks, an M88 recovery vehicle, and associated equipment to prepare the center for full operational capability in 2025.
