Thought for the day

"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of 'Men who wanted to be left alone'.
They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love.
They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it.
They know, that the moment they fight back, the lives as they have lived them, are over.
The moment the "Men who wanted to be left alone" are forced to fight back, it is a small form of suicide. They are literally killing off who they used to be.
Which is why, when forced to take up violence, these "Men who wanted to be left alone", fight with unholy vengeance against those who murdered their former lives.
They fight with raw hate, and a drive that cannot be fathomed by those who are merely play-acting at politics and terror. TRUE TERROR will arrive at the left's door, and they will cry, scream, and beg for mercy...but it will fall upon deaf ears." ~ Lt. Col. Jeff Cooper

Federal Judge Glenn Suddaby blocked parts of a sweeping New York gun legislation package that went into law in September that involved strict application requirements for obtaining concealed carry permits and locations where concealed carry was prohibited on Thursday.

According to CNN, Judge Glenn T. Suddaby of the US District Court for the Northern District said that that law "further reduced a first-class constitutional right to bear arms in public for self-defense" into a "request." The judge struck down many of the locations where the law previously said concealed carry firearms were prohibited and it cast away the need for a gun applicant to provide a social media history. Governor Kathy Hochul signed the legislation into law in July.

Wall Street slid on Friday after solid job growth and a drop in the unemployment rate last month raised the probability the Federal Reserve will to stick to jumbo-sized interest rate hikes, while a revenue warning from Advanced Micro Devices hit chipmakers.

The Labor Department’s closely watched employment report showed nonfarm payrolls increased by 263,000 jobs last month after rising 315,000 in August.

The report also showed the jobless rate fell to 3.5% in September, lower than expectations of 3.7%. Traders now see a 92% chance of 75 basis-point hike by the Fed, up from 83.4% before data.

Iran’s Legal Medicine Organization has released the results of its investigation into the case of Mahsa Amini, saying that her controversial death was caused by an illness rather than alleged blows to the head or other vital body organs.

The official medical report was released on Friday, some three weeks after the 22-year-old Iranian woman fainted at a police station and was pronounced dead days later on September 16 at a Tehran hospital.

“According to hospital documents, the study of CT scans of the brain and lungs, results of physical examination of the body and an autopsy, and pathological tests, the death of the individual was not caused by blows to her head, vital organs and limbs,” said the report.

Amini had undergone a craniopharyngioma surgery at the age of eight which led to the eruption of disorders in the hypothalamus and hypophysis gland, said the report, adding that the deceased used to take hydrocortisone, levothyroxine, and desmopressin as medication.

According to the report, Amini fainted on September 13, leading to a heartbeat interruption and blood pressure decrease as her body was not able to adjust to the new conditions considering her illness.

Former White House strategist Steve Bannon is making a major prediction ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

Bannon laid out his vision for what is likely to come in the near future with former President Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

“2022 is how we are going to stop this. We are going to have a sweeping… I think we can have a 100-seat pickup in the House of Representatives. I think we can flip the Senate. We intend to destroy the Democrat party as a national institution, from school boards all the way up to state legislatures, attorney generals, secretaries of state, to the House and the Senate. Trump is definitely running in 2024,” Bannon predicted.

The records were received in in response to an August 2021 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)lawsuit filed after HHS failed to respond to a April 19, 2021 request for records related to the Biden HHS’ “COVID-19 Community Corps” program (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (No. 1:22-cv-02315)).

Judicial Watch is asking for all records regarding the application process; all organizations asking to be chosen to participate; all grants; and all communications of representatives of the Department of Health and Human Services regarding the program.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams declared a state of emergency Friday in response to the continued arrival of illegal migrants from southern states.

More than 17,000 migrants have been bussed to the city since the spring, a small fraction of the migrant encounters at the border over that timeframe.

Adams said that 1 in five of people in the city's shelter system is a migrant, which is creating a "crisis," he said.

Most voters believe violent crime is getting worse and expect the issue to be important in next month’s midterm elections.

That's according to the latest Rasmussen Reports.

The survey found that 62% of likely U.S. voters believe the problem of violent crime in America is getting worse.

Only 11% think the crime problem is getting better, while 24% think the problem is staying about the same.

These findings are almost unchanged since April.

Eighty-three percent (83%) of voters believe the issue of violent crime will be important in this year’s congressional elections, including 52% who say the crime issue will be "very important."

Only 15% don’t think the issue will be important in the midterms.

On Twitter, the Associated Press’ motto is “advancing the power of facts, globally.” That slogan assumes the AP has gathered the facts in advance.

On Thursday, Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’ campaign roasted the AP for failing to get the facts part right.

On Wednesday, Gov. DeSantis issued a tweet noting that a bridge connecting the mainland to Pine Island, the largest barrier island off Florida’s Gulf coast, had been rebuilt and reopened within three days after being destroyed by Hurricane Ian.

DeSantis heralded the occasion with a video of a convoy of Publix trucks rolling over the bridge.

On Thursday, the AP fired off its own tweet with a video indicating the bridge was still out of commission. The AP also filed a story on Wednesday that said “small motorboats” were the only way to get to the island. Oddly, the story was written by a reporter in Minneapolis.

President Joe Biden's pardon on all prior simple marijuana offenses is "timed for the election," according to strategists who consider the new move to be a distraction tactic from the Democrats as the midterms started looking grim for the party.

Biden announced Thursday that he would be pardoning thousands of marijuana convictions. "No one should be in jail just for using or possessing marijuana," he stated in a clip shared to Twitter.

"I think this is part of the electric car, student loan, marijuana strategy all timed for the election. Don’t think it overcomes particularly the growing issue of crime and drug related crime in the country," said Mark Penn, a former advisor to President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton.

Everyone has lost their fucking mind. Propaganda has made madness look like sanity and sanity look like madness, has normalized cheerleading for nuclear world war and abnormalized calls for de-escalation and detente. It's truly as bat shit insane as anything could possibly be.

Over and over again we're being fed the message from the US and its proxies that this game of nuclear chicken can only escalate and never de-escalate. They are lying. They are playing games with all our lives in service of a dark god named unipolarism, and we gain nothing from it.

The only positive I can see in this mess is that any further movement toward madness will have to be a move into sanity, because we've taken madness as far as we can possibly take it and we'll necessarily have to circle back round again. You can only turn 180 degrees away from the light before you're turning back toward it again. You can only run halfway into the woods before you're running out of it.

Guest is Alexandra (Sasha) Latypova, former pharmaceutical industry executive with 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical research and development. She started a number of successful companies — primarily focused on creating and reviewing clinical trials. She was born in Ukraine and moved to the United States in the 1990s.

This session is about all safeguards and regulations that the public has relied on for years and assumed to be in place for pharmaceutical products that have been effectively removed for mRNA-based vaccines. She found the reason how this is even possible: she obtained Department of Defense contracts for COVID vaccines, therapeutics, diagnostics, and all related products.

Pfizer and Moderna violated all rules because the products they are making are, according to the contracts, manufactured under defense prototype agreements, with no accountability and no real requirements for safety or efficacy. The DOD contracts remove all liability as long as manufacturers and everyone involved “follow orders” under PREP Act.

The Senate is already on a knife's edge.

Democrats are in control by the tiniest of margins, using Vice President Kamala Harris as a tie-breaker in the chamber that's split 50-50.

On November 8, all Republicans need to do is flip one seat and guard their current territory to give Senator Mitch McConnell the opportunity to become majority leader again.

However, thanks to a number of Trump-backed candidates and potent issues like abortion, flipping control of the upper chamber looks easier said than done.

In August, McConnell warned that 'candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome.' Last week, he said he didn't believe abortion would be the central issue in the midterms - pointing to inflation, crime and open borders.

Recent polling has shown that in some Senate races, Republicans have been able to expertly hammer Democrats on crime.

Congress is considering several radical bills that, if enacted, would be significant steps toward the federalization of our local police — severely threatening liberty.

One of the worst of these bills is H.R. 6448, titled the Invest to Protect Act of 2022. Sponsored by U.S. Representative Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.), it is cosponsored by 86 representatives, including 27 Republicans. A Senate companion bill, S. 3860, has also been introduced — it is sponsored by Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) and cosponsored by 18 senators, including seven Republicans.

On September 22, the House voted 360-64 in favor of H.R. 6448; 153 Republicans voted in favor of this radical, unconstitutional bill. H.R. 6448 now goes to the Senate for consideration. Although the Senate is on recess, it will return for an “extremely busy” lame-duck session after the midterm elections — it could consider H.R. 6448 during this time!

H.R. 6448 would expand federal grants to local law-enforcement agencies with fewer than 125 officers. Under the bill, these grants would be required to be used only for specific issues, such as de-escalation training, “victim-centered training,” signing bonuses for new hires, and retention bonuses to lower the number of resignations. While some of the funds may be used for needed or wanted police equipment, training, and retention programs, it is still inappropriate seeing as the Constitution makes no provision for funding local law enforcement. Federal funds always come with strings attached, which are in turn used by the federal government to “mold” or govern the conduct of local law enforcement in order to meet unconstitutional and arbitrary “federal standards.” This is paramount to a gradual federal takeover of local police departments, sheriffs’ offices, and other local law enforcement agencies. Ultimately, H.R. 6448 would strengthen the federal government’s stranglehold over local police departments, further reducing their independence.

As researchers at the Minnesota Department of Health in St. Paul have discovered that the monkeypox virus is mutating. The researchers were sequencing samples of the monkeypox virus a few months ago when they made the discovery.

In one sample collected from an infected person, a large chunk of the virus’s genome was missing, and another chunk had moved to an entirely different spot in the sequence, according to a report by Nature.

Crystal Gigante, a microbiologist at the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia, was called in to help examine the monkeypox mutations. She and her colleagues found similar deletions and rearrangements in a handful of other monkeypox genomes collected in the United States, according to a report that they posted on 17 September on the preprint server bioRxiv that has not undergone peer review.

North Korea has launched two more missiles, this time over South Korea. This is the second missile launch the nation has fired off in three days.

The first missile was launched on Tuesday and was a short-range weapon fired east over Japan. This was allegedly in response to the United States redeploying an aircraft carrier close to the Korean Peninsula. The missile flew well over Japan and was heading toward Hawaii when it landed in the Pacific Ocean.

Thursday’s launches were reported by South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) and the Japanese government. They followed Tuesday’s test of a suspected intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) over Japan, the first missile launch since 2017. The first was launched at 6:01 am from Pyongyang and the second missile was fired 22 minutes later.

“This is the sixth time in the short period just counting the ones from the end of September,” Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida told reporters. “This absolutely cannot be tolerated.”

The DHS has previously claimed that online misinformation is a terror threat and these grants were made in a similar vein and doled out as part of a “Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant Program.”

In total, over $3 million of taxpayer money was handed over to universities, think tanks, and nonprofits who will use the money to fund projects that fight what they deem to be misinformation and disinformation.

The University of Rhode Island was given $701,612 for its “Media Literacy and Online Critical Thinking Initiatives” and “Youth Resilience Programs.” The description for this grant claims that “disinformation, conspiracy theories, and propaganda have become large-scale social problems” and says that part of the funds from the grant will be used for “online and face-to-face dialogues [that] help demonstrate how to critically analyze propaganda, disinformation, and domestic extremism.”

Webmaster addition: Propaganda by any other name...
