The attorney for actor Alec Baldwin has shockingly claimed that the gun the actor used when he fatally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the movie Rust was destroyed by New Mexico's state government.

Alex Spiro dropped the bombshell in the case during a hearing conducted virtually and streamed on YouTube by the court Thursday. 

'I think I should tell the court that the firearm in this case, that's a great subject of it, was destroyed by the state,' Spiro said. 'So that's obviously an issue.'

The US Government and its political apologists have repeatedly called the Seymour Hersh expose of what really happened, the who, how, and why of Nordstream 1 and 2 fantasy, fiction and completely false.  All of a sudden, “US government investigators” have identified a vessel from which the Nord Stream sabotage was committed and …wait for it…. traces to a company owned by Ukrainians, according to new reports in Die Zeit and the New York Times, and well, everywhere!

Who’d a’ thunk it?

The pipeline sabotage was an act of war by the United States, as explained and documented a few weeks ago by Seymour Hersh with his extensive range of deep state sources. A major question remains: Was this an unlawful US Executive Act of War against Russia, against Germany, or horrifyingly, both? It is unlikely that German intelligence has not known the basic facts of the pipeline attacks for many months, but until Hersh’s reporting the German Chancellor and his party could simply remain silent, and they did.

Once Hersh’s report could no longer be suppressed by mainstream Western media, the US and its media apologists needed an alternative explanation – one that leaned away from the unlawful US act of war against German industry and economy, and towards something could be explained as a rational, if unfortunate, act of a Ukrainian patriotic group opposing the Russian aggressor. The story needed to make logical sense to the casual observer, and shift the blame away from Grandpa Joe Biden and his mad neoconservative national security team.  In no way could it paint this as an attack against Germany, by either the US, or by the US proxy regime in Kiev. The story also needed to glamorize and laud Ukrainian patriotism without damaging the Zelensky government’s access to continued free and unencumbered Western fiat and weapons shipments.

The amateur statesmen and spymasters in Washington DC barely conceived of this story in time for Scholz’s visit, and it appears they may have needed the German Chancellor’s advice and consent, before providing the wholly unsubstantiated and vague storyline to friendly media. Simultaneous reporting of the story by the US state organ, the NYT, and the German state organ Die Zeit, couldn’t hurt, right?

As we’ve all heard many times, history never repeats exactly. This time around, commercial real-estate is where all the naked swimmers are showing up, and the big reveal has arrived almost overnight like a tsunami, sucking all the water out of the bay. carrying more than a few swimmers out with it.

While home mortgage interest is rising, the rise is having little impact on most Americans because the number of mortgages affected by high rates is only 1%. Ninety-nine percent of US homeowners purchased their homes when rates were extremely low, and the great majority were smart enough to lock into fixed rates. That is a huge safety factor for the overall housing market this time around compared to the last earth-shattering real-estate bust. It means there are far fewer of those adjustable-rate mortgages that turned into time bombs that set off a housing crisis when rates started adjusting upward.

Fortunately, my take on the left or the right of current politics is fairly agnostic, as I view nearly all politicos as crooked as a dog’s hind leg.

Thus, as I turn my lens toward the state of California and its failed governor, I hope readers of the left or right can dispense with politics and just stick to math so that we can all get past the swamp of red vs. blue opinions and respect the objective facts of red vs. black balance sheets.

And when it comes to the State of California, she’s deeply in the red, and serves, ironically, as yet another broader yet applicable metaphor of the world economy in general and the United States in particular.

So, let’s dig in.

Opposition to “woke” ESG corporatism is snowballing, as Joe Biden and Larry Fink found out this past week. Fink is the billionaire CEO of BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager with $8 trillion under management. He is also one of Biden’s biggest boosters and the most prominent corporate promoter of ESG, the controversial rating system that is pushing companies to adopt “progressive” Soros-style policies rather than carry out their legal and fiduciary responsibilities to their shareholders. ESG, which stands for Environment, Social, and Governance, is a scheme aimed at pressuring businesses into joining the politically correct stampede on climate change, decarbonization, sustainable development, and so-called social justice and racial justice issues such as gun control, abortion rights, LGBTQ equity, and critical race theory.

The US government, Western media, and supposed “human rights” organizations are condemning Cambodia for recently sentencing Kem Sokha, the former leader of the opposition party “Cambodia National Rescue Party” (CNRP), to 27 years in prison. While the arguments being made publicly revolve superficially around upholding “human rights” and “democracy,” the actual reason for the West’s condemnation is Kem Sokha’s role as a long-time US government proxy Washington invested heavily in over many years.

The Guardian in its article, “US condemns ‘fabricated’ case as Cambodian opposition leader is jailed for 27 years,” would report:

The former leader of the dissolved opposition party the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) was arrested in 2017 and accused of conspiring with the US to oust Cambodia’s authoritarian leader, Hun Sen, who has ruled for almost four decades. 

US ambassador W Patrick Murphy said the allegations, which Kem Sokha denied, were “fabricated conspiracy theories”.

The Biden administration is determined to provoke China on the issue of Taiwan. The White House now believes that they must take a more aggressive approach to China in order to contain their development and preserve America’s role as regional hegemon. The irony of Washington’s approach, however, is the fact that tens of thousands of US corporations have fled the US over the last 3 decades to take advantage of China’s low-paid work force. In fact—according to Registration China—there are now more than 1 million foreign-owned companies registered on Mainland China, many of which are owned by Americans. These corporations are largely responsible for China’s meteoric economic rise over the same period of time. So my question to you is this: Why is China being blamed and targeted for the explosive growth for which US corporations are mainly responsible? 

It isn’t just artists and teachers who are losing sleep over advances in automation and artificial intelligence. Robots are being brought into Hinduism’s holiest rituals – and not all worshippers are happy about it.

In 2017, a technology firm in India introduced a robotic arm to perform “aarti,” a ritual in which a devotee offers an oil lamp to the deity to symbolize the removal of darkness. This particular robot was unveiled at the Ganpati festival, a yearly gathering of millions of people in which an icon of Ganesha, the elephant-headed god, is taken out in a procession and immersed in the Mula-Mutha river in Pune in central India.

Ever since, that robotic aarti arm has inspired several prototypes, a few of which continue to regularly perform the ritual across India today, along with a variety of other religious robots throughout East Asia and South Asia. Robotic rituals even now include an animatronic temple elephant in Kerala on India’s southern coast.

Yet this kind of religious robotic usage has led to increasing debates about the use of AI and robotic technology in devotion and worship. Some devotees and priests feel that this represents a new horizon in human innovation that will lead to the betterment of society, while others worry that using robots to replace practitioners is a bad omen for the future.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams wants to send migrants to college on the taxpayer dime.

The New York Post learned the mayor “plans to provide as many as 100 migrants with 12 months of classes, room and board in upstate Sullivan County.” It could last indefinitely.

The Office of Asylum Seeker Operations, Adams’s new city agency, will be in charge of the program:

The pilot program — to be overseen by Adams’ newly created city agency, the Office of Asylum Seeker Operations — involves both SUNY Sullivan community college in tiny Loch Sheldrake and The Center for Discovery, a special education school in nearby Harris.

The cost to taxpayers hasn’t been disclosed but will likely exceed $1.2 million in the first year, based on the price tag for two semesters at SUNY Sullivan alone.

“The mayor’s office is giving us money for things like supplies for people to live on, and the dorms and food,” said spokesman Michael Rosen of The Center for Discovery.

Inflation in Egypt shot to a five-and-a-half-year high in February, according to data released by statistics agency Capmas on Thursday.

The annual urban consumer inflation rate in February leapt to 31.9 percent from 25.8 percent in January.

It comes in the wake of a series of currency devaluations since March 2022. The value of the Egyptian pound has since collapsed by 50 percent.

Inflation is the highest since August 2017 - nine months after a steep devaluation - when it reached 31.92 percent.

February 27 through May 8 marks the 50th anniversary of the occupation by the American Indian Movement (AIM) of Wounded Knee on the Oglala Lakota Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota, the site of the last great massacre of the Indian Wars in December 1890.

In a 2019 documentary that aired on PBS, From Wounded Knee to Standing Rock: A Reporter’s Journey, filmmaker Kevin McKiernan interviewed Tom Parker, an FBI agent working for the FBI’s counter-intelligence operation (COINTELPRO), who admitted that the FBI had helped to fracture and disrupt AIM during its 1973 Wounded Knee occupation.

“[W]e wanted them to kill each other, as we were in a war against AIM,” Parker said.

According to Parker, a main goal of COINTELPRO was to infiltrate informers into AIM and to publicly identify AIM activists with the FBI so that others in AIM would turn against them.

In this way, Parker said, dissension would grow among AIM, and AIM members would become paranoid about FBI infiltration and turn against one another, and there would be violence.

There is a cardinal difference between the Washington Post report of June 18, 1972 by Alfred Lewis breaking the news of the Watergate burglary and the sensational claim by the New York Times on Tuesday — per a CNN report — that “intelligence suggests that a pro-Ukrainian group” sabotaged the Nord Stream gas pipelines. 

The WaPo reported on Watergate several months after Richard Nixon’s thumping victory for a second term as president, while the Times’ claim has been advanced even before Joe Biden has announced his candidacy for the November 2024 election. 

A common thread, though, could be that while the Lewis story was followed up a day later by two young Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, the Times report also hopes to be a developing story but with a contrarian purpose. 

If Watergate wiretapping forced Nixon to resign eventually, the big question is whether the Nord Stream sabotage will also be the undoing of the Biden presidency?

Norfolk Southern — the railway company whose train derailed last month in East Palestine, Ohio, contaminating the surrounding area with toxic chemicals — announced Thursday night that it had determined that some of its railcars, of a specific make and model, had loose wheels.

During its cleanup of the derailment site, Norfolk Southern investigators discovered that a "specific model and series of railcars had loose wheels," the company said in a news release Thursday night, calling the discovery "an urgent safety issue."

The wheels came from "a series of recently acquired cars from a specific manufacturer," Norfolk Southern said.

A message warning of a nuclear missile strike on Russian soil momentarily interrupted TV and radio broadcasts in Yekaterinburg, Moscow, and the Sverdlovsk regions of Russia, Telegraph reported.

Virginia's attorney general has written to a middle school in the state demanding they stop selecting students for a college preparation program 'based on race, color and national origin'.

AG Jason Miyares wrote to Cooper Middle School in McLean after the school sent an email to eighth grade parents asking if they children would benefit from a scheme to help them with college applications.

'Please cease and desist the illegal conduct of soliciting and selecting applicants to the College Partnership Program based on race, color and national origin,' he wrote.

Officials knew the San Bernardino County mountains were going to be hit by a bad storm days before an unprecedented blizzard rolled in.

But they found themselves unprepared for the historic amount of snow and the disruptions it would bring. More than 100 inches of snow fell in back-to-back storms over the course of a few days, shutting down most mountain roads and leaving multiple communities stranded, some for nearly two weeks since.

Some of the snowplows local officials had available proved no match for the massive accumulation of snow. And because much of California was also experiencing record-setting wintry weather, supplemental supplies from other counties were unavailable, officials said.

The series of storms and the damage they inflicted on the mountain communities proved to be a harsh lesson for local officials who were tested like never before by the extraordinary challenges.

Former January 6 Chairman Bennie Thompson claimed he never had access to January 6 footage after Fox News host Tucker Carlson released never-before-seen footage.

Bennie Thompson told CNN that he is not aware of any January 6 Committee members having access to the J6 footage.

“I’m actually not aware of any member of the committee who had access. We had a team of employees who kind of went through the video,” Bennie Thompson told CNN.

Via CNN: “Bennie Thompson, former chair of the Jan. 6 committee, said lawmakers were never given that type of access to the footage last Congress. “It’s strictly a new policy that the new speaker has put in place,” he told CNN.”

A former Department of Defense official from the Trump administration has warned that China relied heavily on stolen US technology to build its J-20 Mighty Dragon stealth fighter, calling for greater safeguards on secret weapon systems.

Former Acting Under Secretary of Defense for Policy James Anderson said China has pilfered US secrets for many years, basing the J-20 on technology from the F-22 Raptor and Joint Strike Fighter program. 

'What we know is that because of the espionage efforts, the J-20 is more advanced than it otherwise would be, and that's the important point here,' Anderson told Fox News Digital in an interview published on Thursday.

Students are electing to avoid college in the hundreds of thousands since before the pandemic, with many choosing to take jobs amid fears of tuition and debt. 

What first looked like a pandemic blip has turned into a crisis. Nationwide, undergraduate college enrollment dropped 8% from 2019 to 2022, with declines even after returning to in-person classes, according to data from the National Student Clearinghouse. 

The slide in the college-going rate since 2018 is the steepest on record, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Protecting Speech from Government Interference Act states that it is intended to “prohibit Federal employees from advocating for censorship of viewpoints in their official capacity, and for other purposes.”

The bill passed by a vote of 219-206.

“It is the policy of the Congress that employees acting in their official capacity should neither take action within their authority or influence to promote the censorship of any speech, nor advocate that a third party, including a private entity, censor such speech,” the text of the bill reads.

The bill’s lead sponsor was Rep. James Comer, who said in a statement that “the Biden Administration has eroded Americans’ First Amendment rights by bullying social media companies to censor certain views and news on their platforms. The Oversight Committee is taking action to protect Americans’ constitutional right to free speech from government censorship.”

'Equity', a key focus, was mentioned in the context of racial equity, equal access to healthcare, and equity for veterans.

Xi Jinping was handed a third term as Chinese president on Friday, capping a rise that has seen him become the country's most powerful leader in generations.

The appointment by China's rubber-stamp parliament comes after Xi locked in another five years as head of the Communist Party and the military - the two more significant leadership positions in Chinese politics - in October.
