The US has sent the war ship Bataan as well as two support ships with 2,500 Marines onboard into the Eastern Mediterranean after Iran launched a drone attack on Israel

US Congressional sources say the amphibious war ship Bataan is leading a US naval task force in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The Bataan has two support ships and together they have about 2,500 Marines onboard. The US also has several guided missile destroyers including the Carney in the area.

US bases in Iraq have been placed on full alert and will also attempt to shoot down missiles and drones aimed at Israel.

It cost Israel more than $1bn to activate its defense systems that intercepted Iran's massive drone and missile attack overnight,  according to a former financial adviser to Israel's military.

"The defence tonight was on the order of 4-5bn shekels [$1-1.3bn] per night," estimated Brigadier General Reem Aminoach in an interview with Ynet news.

Aminoach highlighted that the staggering price tag stands in contrast to the relatively low amount that Iran had spent to launch its assault, which some estimates have put at less than 10 percent of what it cost Israel to stop the attack.

Iran launched more than 300 drones and missiles towards Israel on Saturday, in response to an Israeli attack on its consulate in Syria that killed two senior Revolutionary Guard commanders earlier this month.

Israel said its military forces and its allies had intercepted 99 percent of the missiles, but some ballistic missiles penetrated Israeli defences and hit the Nevatim Airbase in southern Israel.

Webmaster addition: Clarification. It cost YOU over a billion dollars!

The Saturday evening fireworks show in the Middle East marked Tehran's first full-scale military attack on Israel. Although largely unsuccessful, concerns mount that US military bases in the region might be targeted with ballistic missiles and suicide drones if the US supports an Israeli retaliation strike.

Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari told The Washington Post that Iran launched 300 drones and missiles at Israel, adding that "more than 99 percent" had been intercepted by either Israel or the US. President Biden condemned Tehran's "brazen attack" on Israel and told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about America's "ironclad commitment" to Israel's security. However, the US president warned Netanyahu that the US won't support counterattack strikes against Iran.

Ahron Bregman, a political scientist and expert in Middle East security issues at King's College in London, told The New York Times that Iran's direct attack on Israel last night was the first of its kind from its own territory, calling it a "historic event."

Over the years, Tehran has used foreign proxies such as Lebanon's Hezbollah militia and Yemen's Houthi rebels to strike Israeli interests. At the moment, the Houthis are targeting US, UK, and Israeli-affiliated commercial vessels in the Southern Red Sea. And early Saturday, Iran seized an Israeli-affiliated container ship near the Strait of Hormuz

John Kirby said the U.S. has communicated to Iran 'what we would do' if American troops or facilities are targeted amid rising conflict in the Middle East.

President Joe Biden's National Security Council (NSC) Spokesman reiterated that the U.S. does not plan to get involved with counter attacks against Iran on behalf of ally Israel – but will continue to help defend the Jewish nation.

Amid Israel's ongoing war with Hamas terrorists in Gaza, some Republican lawmakers are not pleased with the Biden administration response so far with the escalating conflict and want a direct response to the attacks last night from Iran and its proxies.

'The president has made it clear: We do not seek a war with Iran. We don't seek a wider war in the region,' Kirby told NBC host Kristen Welker Sunday morning.

Webmaster addition: Kirby has rolled out the red carpet for Israel to repeat the 1967 false-flag attack on USS Liberty, where Israel tried to sink the ship and blame Egypt for it!

Whistleblowers from the D.C. National Guard will testify before Congress next week in ‘bombshell’ testimony that Donald Trump pre-authorized the service members to be deployed during the Capitol riots, but the Army delayed ordering them to mobilize.

At least three service members will testify before a House subcommittee on Wednesday and give accounts that will essentially exonerate the former president on his January 6 response.

The whistleblowers will reveal their accounts were disregarded by the Democrat-led J6 committee because they were devastating to the left’s argument that Donald Trump was complicit in an “insurrection.”

The witnesses contend that the main purpose of the January 6 panel was to place the responsibility for the events of that day on Trump, rather than investigate the root of the communication breakdown and strengthen military readiness for future emergencies.

The Congressional hearing’s stated purpose is to substantiate the claims made by Christopher Miller, the Acting Defense Secretary at the time, that Donald Trump had pre-authorized the deployment of the D.C. National Guard. The hearing is headlined “Three Years Later: D.C. National Guard Whistleblowers Speak Out on January 6 Delay.”

The far-left New York Times has admitted that growing numbers of voters are looking back “more positively” on Donald Trump’s presidency as the Biden administration continues to fail at everything it does.

In an article published Sunday, the Times conceded that voters have a “rosier picture” of Trump’s tenure when compared with Biden, particularly on issues such as immigration, the economy and law and order.

The paper reported:

Views of Donald J. Trump’s presidency have become more positive since he left office, bolstering his case for election and posing a risk to President Biden’s strategy of casting his opponent as unfit for the presidency, according to a new poll by The New York Times and Siena College.

While the memories of Mr. Trump’s tumultuous and chaotic administration have not significantly faded, many voters now have a rosier picture of his handling of the economy, immigration and maintaining law and order. Ahead of the 2020 election, only 39 percent of voters said that the country was better off after Mr. Trump took office. Now, looking back, nearly half say that he improved things during his time as president.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was asked by the Department of Justice (DOJ) to resolve “inconsistencies” in how her office reports federal funding, a spokesperson for the federal department said this week.

Earlier this year, reports emerged that a former Fulton County employee revealed that some federal funding that was sent to the office was used for different expenses, which is now being probed by House Republicans. It comes as Ms. Willis continues to work on a case targeting former President Donald Trump and more than a dozen others for an alleged scheme to illegally overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.

Now, the DOJ, in a statement issued this week, confirmed that it had discovered inconsistencies in how Ms. Willis’s office reported that grant money and that the agency is now working to receive the correct reports.

“During our review of the award to respond to this inquiry, we have noticed some inconsistencies in what Fulton County has reported ... and we are working with them to update their reporting accordingly,” a DOJ spokesperson told the Washington Free Beacon.

Israel attacked the USS Liberty using UNMARKED AIRCRAFT. This is the single fact which proves Israel knew exactly who they were attacking. Israel's story is that they thought USS Liberty was an Egyptian ship and therefore a legitimate target of war. Were that true, there would be no reason to attack a supposedly Egyptian ship with unmarked aircraft. The only possible reason to use unmarked aircraft to attack the ship is that Israel knew it was an American ship and intended to sink it, then to blame the attack on Egypt.

Moorer, who as top legal council to the official investigation is in a position to know, agrees that Israel intended to sink the USS Liberty and blame Egypt for it, thus dragging the United States into a war on Israel's behalf. This seems to be a common trick of Israel. Starting with the Lavon affair, through the USS Liberty, to the fake radio transmitter that tricked Reagan into attacking Libya, to potentially 9-11 itself, Israel's game is to frame Arabs and set them up as targets for the United States.

The official US investigation is discredited. And with it, every claim of innocence for Israel that relied on the official investigation as a source.

The real question facing the American people is why the US Government seems more concerned with protecting Israel after they are caught playing these dirty tricks, rather than doing something to convince Israel not to kill any more Americans.

"Evidence linking these Israelis to 9/11 is classified. I cannot tell you about evidence that has been gathered. It's classified information." -- US official quoted in Carl Cameron's Fox News report on the Israeli spy ring and its connections to 9-11.

Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, is a legal scholar, the first woman to hold this pivotal position, and an all-round pain in the neck for genocidal Zionists from Tel Aviv to London to New York.

Today, she is the voice of the global conscience speaking truth to the vulgar warmongers committing atrocities in Gaza.

The bold, brilliant and thoroughly researched report Albanese recently issued, aptly titled “Anatomy of a Genocide”, has inspired much admiration around the globe for her tireless work - but also horror and fury among Zionists who do not want Israel’s genocide in Palestine to have such an eloquent, precise and detailed account.

This is the second such account after the one prepared by South Africa’s legal team against the unfolding Israeli genocide at the International Court of Justice. That equally compelling document now foregrounds Albanese’s report as two solid records holding the Israeli settler colony to account for the crime of genocide against the Palestinian people.

After almost two years of military service on the front lines of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Alina’s husband is “enraged” about the new mobilization law.

Ukraine’s parliament adopted the law on Thursday after months of debates and almost 4,300 revisions.

Alina said her husband, who requested anonymity, and brothers-in-arms are dumbfounded by the scrapping of service limits. Earlier versions of the law had envisaged demobilization after 36 months of service.

Without the limits – and with the failure of last year’s counteroffensive and months-long delays of Western military aid – they realize that their service may only end with their disability or death.

Carrying Palestinian flags, the protesters called for an immediate ceasefire in the blockaded territory, and criticized the UK’s stance on Israel.

“Free Palestine,” and “Stop the genocide” were two of the many slogans chanted by pro-Palestine protesters during the march that continued towards Parliament Square.

Modern weapons have become so accurate and lethal that soon armies will not be able to maneuver rapidly on the battlefield.

Instead, they will trudge forward under the protection of defensive "bubbles" designed to stop drones and missiles. According to this vision, swift battlefield maneuvers will be replaced by grinding wars of attrition where victory goes to the side that has the most firepower as well as the most resources to replace losses.

It's a grim vision of warfare that has more in common with the slaughter of the First World War than the mechanized blitzkriegs of World War II and Desert Storm, where infantry and armor backed by airpower seized vast territory. But it's a future the West must prepare for, warns Alex Vershinin, a retired US Army lieutenant colonel, in an essay for Britain's Royal United Services Institute think tank.
