Back live Wednesday!
With a 13-7 vote, the bill passed the state Senate in June. According to Center Square, it prohibits the possession, sale, transfer, and manufacture of large-capacity magazines. While it exempts law enforcement and military members, the law also put a buyback program in place for large-capacity magazines.
According to the Daily Caller, a gun rights advocacy group, the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) filed the latest of three lawsuits against a high-capacity gun magazine ban in a release on Thursday. Two other lawsuits were filed in June 2022 by two private citizens and the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC).
According to SAF founder and Executing Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb, Senate Bill 6 (SB6) “literally criminalizes one of the most common and important means by which Delaware citizens can exercise their right of self-defense.” In a release, Gottlieb noted, “In effect, SB6 makes self-defense a potentially criminal act, and that must not be allowed to stand.”
A massive bronze sculpture honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. and his wife, Coretta Scott King, was officially unveiled on the Boston Common on Friday.
The work, titled “The Embrace,” was created by Washington state conceptual artist Hank Willis Thomas. It is his interpretation of a photo of the two taken on the day King learned he’d won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.
A woman was raped by an African suspect in broad daylight just hours before an elderly female was raped at home by another man in the same jurisdiction in France last week, according to reports.
The first of the horrifying attacks unfolded at around 10 a.m. on January 8 in Le Havre, a port city in the Normandy region.
A woman whose clothes had been torn off sought refuge at a fire station on rue Sergent-Goubin.
“Three witnesses heard the victim scream while she was in the nearby undergrowth,” a source told Actu 17.
“She had been undressed and was struggling. The intervention of these passers-by was decisive."
Firefighters managed to capture and hold the suspect until police arrived.
He was identified as a 29-year-old migrant from Sierra Leone who was already known to authorities.
The US government (or any foreign government) could instantly end the safety debate by doing a couple of studies.
Why they don’t is a mystery to me.
Could they have something to hide?
For years, Disney has been its special District in Florida.
This lets it govern itself. However, DeSantis talks of a plan to strip Disney of that privilege, which will cost Disney millions. Now, employees are backing DeSantis.
Disney has been its District since 1967, allowing it to govern its land. It can even issue land taxes. According to The Western Journal, “According to the Orlando Sentinel, the District provides its public services, such as utilities, and can issue bonds, levy taxes, and oversee land use and environmental protections.”
However, in April 2022, DeSantis signed a bill to stop that privilege. The bill will dissolve the District, known as the Reedy Creek Improvement District. The District will see a new team of management staff in June and will then be forced to pay the $700 million they have accumulated in unsecured debt.
Last week, an all-ages drag show was held in Roanoke, Texas that quickly turned into a heated culture war between armed Antifa members and conservative protesters. The event, which was hosted by drag queen Trisha Delish, was met with protests from both sides of the political aisle.
Local conservative activists rallied against the event, arguing that it was inappropriate for children to attend. One conservative protester said, "This is about protecting our children from being indoctrinated with a liberal agenda. We have to draw a line somewhere."
Meanwhile, Antifa members showed up armed with assault-style rifles, claiming that they were there to protect the event from any possible violence. Taylor Hansen, a reporter for the Texas Family Project, was on the scene and said, "The goal of Antifa was to protect the event and make sure that those who oppose the event were unable to disrupt it. It was a tense situation, but they were successful in keeping the peace."
A 2-year-old child died suddenly after receiving both the Covid vaccine and the annual flu vaccine, according to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), a national early warning system to detect possible safety problems in US-licensed vaccines, which is co-managed by the CDC and FDA.
According to the data from the CDC’s VAERS WONDER System, a two-year-old girl from New Hampshire died suddenly one day after receiving one dose of the Moderna vaccine and FluLaval Quadrivalent vaccine.
The young child was vaccinated on December 15 with the Covid and flu vaccines.
She died the next day, December 16, 2022.
Tanks, shipped by NATO to Ukraine, will remain in the Donbass soil as scrap metal, a DPR military-political expert Yan Gagin told TASS Monday.
"All this will remain as either scrap metal in the Donbass soil or as trophies," the expert said.
According to Gagin, Western vehicles shipped to Ukraine are mostly used, with insufficient maintenance seriously affecting their quality.
"Our forces destroy all kinds of armored vehicles rather successfully. I cannot say that [German-made] Leopards are much better than T-80s or T-90s. They are vehicles just like any other," the expert underscored.
Hundreds of firefighters are battling a huge blaze that broke out this evening, Monday, January 16, as the result of an explosion at a facility belonging to Bollore Logistics. Located near the city of Rouen, in the Normandy region of Grand-Couronne in northern France, the building reportedly houses thousands of lithium batteries.
Ukraine has turned into a “lab” for Western arms as the war has given the US and its allies an opportunity to see how their weapons fare in a conflict with a major military power like Russia, CNN reported on Monday.
A source familiar with Western intelligence on the war told CNN that Ukraine is “absolutely a weapons lab in every sense because none of this equipment has ever actually been used in a war between two industrially developed nations.” The source described it as “real-world battle testing.”
Back in July, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov offered his country as a “testing ground” for Western arms makers. “We are interested in testing modern systems in the fight against the enemy and we are inviting arms manufacturers to test the new products here,” he said.
If you don’t want to socialize with people who support Israel, or you think Israel treats Palestinians the way Nazis treated Jews, you’re antisemitic, according to a new survey of antisemitism from the Anti-Defamation League.
The survey goes further than ever in the effort by the Israel lobby to brand “highly negative” views of Israel as bigotry. Released last week, and promptly seconded by the American Jewish Committee, it reports that 40 percent of Americans believe that Israel treats Palestinians as Nazis treated Jews — a remarkable indication of Israel’s sinking reputation in the U.S.
Americans’ belief in antisemitic ideas of Jewish conspiratorial influence have doubled just in the last three years, the survey says, with a correspondent “surge” in antisemitic acts. But surprise– the ADL links that increase to Israel.
A Member of the European Parliament (MEP) has accused the European Union of pushing “horrible propaganda” after a project described paedophiles as “people with a sexual interest in children”, accusing the bloc of seeking to rebrand them with a term that is both “more appealing and morally neutral”.
Cristian Terhes, a Romanian MEP who sits with the European Conservatives and Reformists group, has slammed the EU for allegedly pushing for the term “paedophile” to be replaced with something “more appealing and morally neutral”.
It comes after controversy surrounding an EU project’s use of the term Minor-Attracted People (MAPs) to describe paedophiles, despite the fact that the term is highly controversial, and seen by some as overly sympathetic towards predators.
However, despite the use of the term prompting huge backlash only last month, Terhes claims that the EU still seems to be trying to soften the language around paedophiles, with another EU project on child protection repeatedly referring to them as “people with a sexual interest in children”.
The words are a part of everyday conversation — “swinging” by an address and going out in the “field.”
But in the twisted mind of Virginia gunman Vester Lee Flanagan II, they were pure racism — and saying them became a death sentence for Alison Parker.
The 24-year-old white reporter, who was murdered on live TV along with her cameraman, used the phrases as an intern at WDBJ TV in Roanoke in 2012, according to an internal complaint filed by Flanagan, who was black.
“One was something about ‘swinging’ by some place; the other was out in the ‘field,’ ” said the Jan. 21 report by assistant news director Greg Baldwin, which refers to Parker as Alison Bailey (her middle name).
Parker was never disciplined over the remarks, but Flanagan never forgot them.
Hours after gunning her and Adam Ward down during their broadcast Wednesday, Flanagan revealed in tweets that the comments were still fresh in his mind.
If there was any doubt that China is back - or was back even when it was still largely mostly locked down with various now defunct Covid zero restrictions - all those doubts were magically whisked away moments ago when Beijing's not-so-random number goalseekatron published the data dump for Q4 which - drumroll - not only beat across the board, but absolutely smashed expectations.
Here is what China's National BS (which stands for Bureau of Statistics of course), reported moments ago for a quarter when Covid Zero was still all the rage (before China mysteriously called time on the worst economic policy of the past three years):
The mainstream media of the collective West, in unison, will be spinning non-stop, for a week, all the “news” that are fit to print to extol new declinations of The Great Reset, re-baptized The Great Narrative, but actually framed as a benign offer by “stakeholder capitalism”. These are the main planks of the shady platform of a shady NGO registered in Cologny, a tony Geneva suburb.
The list of Davos attendees was duly leaked. Proverbially, it’s an Anglo-American Exceptionalist fun fest, complete with intel honchos such as the US Director of National Intelligence, Avril “Madam Torture” Haines; the head of MI6 Richard Moore; and FBI director Christopher Wray.
Remixed Diderot and D’Alembert Encyclopedias could be written about the Davos pathology – where a hefty list of multibillionaires, heads of state and corporate darlings (owned by BlackRock, Vanguard, State Street and co.) “engage” in selling Demented Dystopia packages to the unsuspecting masses.
But let’s cut to the chase and focus on a few panels next week – which could easily be mistaken for Straight to Hell sessions.
The Tuesday, January 17 list is particularly engaging. It features a “De-Globalization or Re-Globalization?” panel with speakers Ian Bremmer, Adam Tooze, Niall Ferguson, Péter Szijjártó and Ngaire Woods. Three Atlanticists/Exceptionalists stand out, especially the ultra-toxic Ferguson.
After “In Defense of Europe”, featuring a bunch of nullities including Poland’s Andrjez Duda, attendees will be greeted with a Special Season in Hell (sorry, Rimbaud) featuring none other than EC dominatrix Ursula von der Leyen, known by a vast majority of Germans as Ursula von der Leichen (“Ursula of Cadavers”) in a tag team with WEF mastermind, Third Reich emulator Klaus “Nosferatu” Schwab.
Rumors are that Lucifer, in his privileged underground abode, is green with envy.
Russia and Belarus have kicked off joint aerial drills over Belarusian skies on Monday, in a worrying prospect for neighboring Ukraine given the exercises will last for a full two weeks, until Feb.1.
Minsk, however, has called the drills "defensive in nature" amid accusations from Kiev that Belarusian armed forces are about to join the Russian invasion. Seeking to downplay that this signals escalation in Ukraine, Minsk also called the exercises mere "technical drills" which seek greater compatibility among the allies' air forces.
An Al Jazeera correspondent in Moscow said that "We all know that last month President Vladimir Putin went to Minsk, where he met his counterpart [Alexander] Lukashenko, where they agreed that Russia will provide the Belarusian air force with training to be able to use what they described as aircraft that could carry unconventional weapons."
But the correspondent noted: "there are many concerns with the role Belarus is playing with respect to the war, whether this is going to have [an] impact."
As of last week, the Pentagon said it had yet to observe any Russian troop movements in Belarus that would indicate the two countries are staging a fresh attack on Ukraine together. Over the last weeks there have been widespread reports of Russian heavy equipment moving across the border by train into Belarus.
An aggressive quantitative tightening (“QT”) pace would set the stage for another spike in rates, but this time further out the curve. During QT, the U.S. Treasury increases its borrowing from the private sector to repay Treasuries held by the Fed. While the Fed can be repaid with cash held in either the RRP or banks, the current issuance structure suggests repayment will largely come out of the banking system. The lesson of the prior QT was that reducing the cash balances of banks directly impacts markets that were recipients of that cash. In 2019, banks were pouring their extra cash into the repo market amidst surging demand for repo financing. The repo market broke when QT siphoned that extra cash away. This time around banks have poured their cash into Treasuries and Agency MBS amidst surging issuance. In this post we explain why QT will primarily drain bank cash balances, review the September 2019 repo spike and suggest that the stage is set for a potential spike in longer dated rates.
As most of you know, me and a bunch of other people are monitoring VAERS data very closely week-by-week. This week (11.18.22), the first thing I noticed was that the Foreign data set was less than a fraction of the size it was last week (11.11.22): down from 283.51 MB to 96.81 MB. There is a disclaimer under the VAERS data that states the following, so this is not mistake.
Figure 1: https://vaers.hhs.gov/data/datasets.html.
I decided to process the data as I always do on Fridays.
The first thing I do when I analyze the VAERS data (after downloading) is compile the Domestic data set. Then I compile the Foreign data set. The I merge them along with the 2021 COVID-19 data. Then I count the numbers of VAERS IDs in both and do some basic descriptive statistics - like how many males versus females, age demographics, dose data and more. Then I start my grouped queries like death counts and severe adverse event counts, etc..
In the case of myocarditis, I always run the code over the Domestic, the Foreign and the combined data sets independently.
The first thing I noticed is that the myocarditis dose 3 response signal is gone. There is a 49% decrease in the number of myocarditis reports.
With each new release of the “Twitter Files” we learn more and more about the deep corruption in Washington. We sensed during Covid that something was really wrong – for example the bizarre denial of natural immunity. But thanks to Elon Musk’s decision to open the books, our worst fears have been proven true. Each new release seems to show something even more criminal inside America’s rotten ruling class.
In the latest release, thanks to the excellent reporting of independent journalist Matt Taibbi, we see outgoing Chair of the House Intelligence Community, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), continuously pressuring Twitter to validate his fantasies of “Russian bots” manipulating US politics.
The short version of what Taibbi reported comes from around the time then-Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) was about to release his Committee’s findings about the FBI misuse of the FISA Court to spy on the Trump presidential campaign. The FBI, it turns out, relied exclusively on the widely-discredited “Steele Dossier” – paid by the Hillary Clinton campaign – as justification to spy on the Trump campaign.
In her cramped breeze-block home on the outskirts of El Salvador’s capital, across an alley from a school currently occupied by soldiers, 65-year-old Francisca Alas rolls down her sock to show a scar from the machete of a gang member. The maras, as gangs here are known, were attacking her son, a factory worker, for refusing to pay an extortion demand. They were smashing his face in with rocks when she stood in the way and was hacked down. Shortly after the attack in 2016, her son fled to the United States, while Alas had to live with the maras operating brazenly on her street, carrying out murders, rapes and shakedowns, and deciding who could enter the neighbourhood.
This situation has radically changed since March, however, when President Nayib Bukele launched an unprecedented and brutal crackdown on gangs, involving mass imprisonment. “It’s a huge improvement,” Alas tells me, explaining that the maras on her block have disappeared. “Now we can go outside when we like. Our family can come and visit us. No president has cared about us here before.”
