"Nobody gets up one day and decides to be a terrorist for no reason. They don't hate us for our freedoms. They hate us and commit acts of terror because one day, as they are going about their normal lives, there is a horrendous blast and people they have known all their lives are lying in bloody shreds at their feet, mixed in with shrapnel stamped 'Made in the USA.'" -- Michael Rivero

The world's largest producer of uranium issued a warning about production delays and escalating shortages of essential chemicals needed for extracting the heavy metal, predicting a near-term decrease in production levels. This development is likely to support higher uranium prices.

NAC Kazatomprom wrote in an earnings report Thursday that 2024 uranium production volumes are expected to be in the range of 21,000 to 22,500 tons. It reduced its production guidance for the year by 12% to 14%.

"Adjustments to the previously announced production intentions are due to challenges related to the availability of sulphuric acid and construction delays at the newly developed deposits," Kazatomprom said. As a result, production at most of its uranium-mining operations will be 20% below the levels allowed by permits for this year.

The company pointed out inventory levels are at "comfortable levels" to fulfill "existing contractual commitments in 2024."

"However, a swift return to a 100% production volume level relative to subsoil use agreements may be at risk," it said.

Spot prices for uranium concentrate used in nuclear power generation have recently been hovering over $100 per pound - a 16-year high.

Just as American Zennials took to social media a few months ago to express their outrage after rumors swirled about a possible military draft, younger Brits are also not happy after multiple government officials hinted that national conscription might be necessary in the near future to combat Russia.

Chief of the General Staff, General Sir Patrick Sanders, has suggested that British men and women could face a call-up to the army in the event of a war.  The head of the British Army said UK citizens should be "trained and equipped" to fight in a potential conflict between NATO and Vladimir Putin's forces.  The problem that is apparently stumping British military brass and political leaders is their ever dwindling recruitment numbers.  They just can't seem to fathom why no one wants to fight for them.

Claire's Observations; Could it possibly be that these kids see war as a catastrophic failure of imagination, and not something any country collectively in its right mind would do?!? And war against a very formidable foe, (read:  Russia) which still conscripts; has weapons UK engineers can only dream of; and has an economy which as grown 5.5% over the last quarter, even with massive sanctions leveled against it?!?  In the face of all this, were I a younger Brit, I would most probably be saying, "Fuggetaboutit!!" as well.

Democrats talk a big game about 'Republican attacks on Social Security,' but 75% of House Dems just voted against deporting migrants who commit Social Security fraud.

Image removed.

Introduced by Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) in December, H.R. 6678 passed with 172 "yea" votes, and 155 "nay" votes - all Democrats, with 55 of them voting with the Republicans.

As former Trump adviser and head of the America First Legal Foundation Stephen Miller posted on X, "155 HOUSE DEMOCRATS — 75% OF THEIR CONFERENCE — JUST VOTED AGAINST DEPORTING CRIMINAL MIGRANTS WHO COMMIT SOCIAL SECURITY FRAUD AND ROB OUR SENIORS."

Claire's Observations:  The degree of utter contempt in which some Congressional Representatives hold their constituents, is absolutely breath-taking.

If we’ve learned one thing over the last three years, it’s that abiding by centuries-old medical ethics, like asking questions, is what White Supremacists™ and domestic terrorists do.

Via the soon-to-be-memory-holed American Medical Association webpage on informed consent:

Informed consent to medical treatment is fundamental in both ethics and law. Patients have the right to receive information and ask questions about recommended treatments so that they can make well-considered decisions about care. Successful communication in the patient-physician relationship fosters trust and supports shared decision making.

The process of informed consent occurs when communication between a patient and physician results in the patient’s authorization or agreement to undergo a specific medical intervention.”

That was then.

This is now, when respecting the Science™ requires that you shut your filthy masked mouth and do whatever corporate media news actors and Public Health™ technocrats tell you to do.

Via Federal Register:

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA, the Agency, or we) is issuing a final rule to amend its regulations to implement a provision of the 21st Century Cures Act (Cures Act). This final rule allows an exception from the requirement to obtain informed consent when a clinical investigation poses no more than minimal risk to the human subject and includes appropriate safeguards to protect the rights, safety, and welfare of human subjects. The final rule permits an institutional review board (IRB) to waive or alter certain informed consent elements or to waive the requirement to obtain informed consent, under limited conditions, for certain FDA-regulated minimal risk clinical investigations.

Dobrograd, a new city in the Vladimir Region of Russia, is being built according to the concept of a slow city, where everything necessary for a person is within a 15-minute walking distance. Judging by the information on the website, construction has been underway for a year, Redko Da Metko wrote. Dobrograd is not the only one. On Sberbank’s website, you can find a detailed presentation of another “smart city,” and the title of the article hints at the same 15-minute city model from the World Economic Forum. In August 2021, the 15-minute triangle project of the Moscow city plan came in the top 30 of the 15-minute city international ‘Urban Design Competition’. The size of the “15-minute area” is 3 by 3 kilometres.

While America has chosen to ignore most COVID policy failures, unless they can be used to score partisan political points, the British government has been running a COVID Inquiry, examining mistakes the government made to better prepare for the next pandemic. The proceedings took an interesting turn in recent days, when top government advisor Mark Woolhouse at the University of Edinburgh lambasted the BBC for misrepresenting COVID risks to promote harmful lockdowns, while senior government advisor Devi Sridhar, also at the University of Edinburgh, kind of admitted that she maybe, perhaps gave poor advice—alerting several reporters who began calling her out on social media and documenting her blatant lies.

A news website launched just 8 months ago with $50 million and tall ambitions to rival the likes of the Los Angeles Times suddenly halted operations on Wednesday. In so doing, The Messenger became the latest outlet to generate its own grim headlines about the financial state of journalism in the United States. "By closing less than a year after it launched, The Messenger will now be one of the biggest busts in the annals of online news," writes Benjamin Mullin at The New York Times. By Wednesday evening, all content had been stripped from themessenger.com, which now only displays the outlet's name and a general-contact email address. There are no severance packages for terminated employees, whose health insurance will come to a screeching halt.

Rubber bullets and water cannons were deployed against hundreds of European farmers protesting outside the EU Parliament building in Brussels on Thursday. The farmers threw eggs, set off fireworks, and started fires near the building while demanding that European leaders stop punishing them with more taxes and rising costs imposed to finance a so-called 'green agenda.'

TAPACHULA, Mexico (AP) — A new, smaller caravan of about 1,500 migrants began moving north from southern Mexico on Thursday, a week after a larger group that set out on Christmas Eve largely disbanded. Most of the migrants from Central and South America said they were tired of waiting in Mexico's southern city of Tapachula, near the Guatemala border. He said there is a lot of work at processing centers for asylum or visa requests and the process can take months.

The latest Supreme Court decision in Texas' battle with the Biden White House has set up a showdown over the Lone Star State's constitutional right to defend itself and the federal government getting in the way. On Monday, in a 5-4 decision on an emergency appeal, the Supreme Court ruled to temporarily overturn a lower court injunction that prohibited the federal government from cutting the razor fence erected by Texas along the border near Eagle Pass. Did it while the trial was going on.

Goldie Hawn's Famous Kids Reveal How Kurt Russell Became Part of the News Coverage When O.J. Simpson went on the run after the 1994 murders of Simpson's ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

During Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson's recent joint appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the famous actress' two children — who have been with Russell since 1983 — said the "Overboard" star has "always crossed paths with killers." That's a weird way of doing it. Like, serial killer.
