It has been evident to many of us since the genocide in Gaza began Oct. 7 that Israel risked asking too much of those inclined to take its side. The Zionist state would ask what many people cannot give: It would ask them to surrender their consciences, their idea of moral order, altogether their native decency as it murders, starves and disperses a population of 2.3 million while making their land uninhabitable.

The Israelis took this risk and they have lost. We are now able to watch videos of Israeli soldiers celebrating as they murder Palestinian mothers and children, as they dance and sing while detonating entire neighborhoods, as they mock Palestinians in a carnival of racist depravity one would have thought beyond what is worst in humanity—and certainly beyond what any Jew would do to another human being. The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports, as American media do not, that the Israel Defense Forces covertly sponsor a social media channel disseminating this degenerate material in the cause of maintaining maximum hatred.

It is a psychologically diseased nation that boasts as it inflicts this suffering on The Other that obsesses it. The world is invited—the ultimate in perversity, this—to partake of Israel’s sickness and said, in a Hague courtroom two weeks ago, “No.”

Philippe Lazzarini, the head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, admitted to employing a "reverse due process" approach in dismissing nine staff members accused by "Israel" of having a hand in Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7.

Lazzarini acknowledged that the employees were terminated before investigating "Israel's" accusations against them and prior to the initiation of any investigation.

During a press conference in al-Quds, when asked about examining evidence against the employees, Lazzarini responded, “No, the investigation is going on now.”

He characterized the decision as “reverse due process," adding, “I could have suspended them, but I have fired them. And now I have an investigation, and if the investigation tells us that this was wrong, in that case at the UN we will take a decision on how to properly compensate [them].”

Egypt is threatening to suspend its peace treaty with Israel if Israeli troops are sent into the densely populated Gaza border town of Rafah, and says fighting there could force the closure of the besieged territory's main aid supply route, two Egyptian officials and a Western diplomat said Sunday.

The threat to suspend the Camp David Accords, a cornerstone of regional stability for nearly a half-century, came after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said sending troops into Rafah was necessary to win the four-month war against the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

Over half of Gaza's population of 2.3 million have fled to Rafah to escape fighting in other areas, and are packed into sprawling tent camps and U.N.-run shelters near the border. Egypt fears a mass influx of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees who may never be allowed to return.

Thousands of veterans exposed to Agent Orange while serving in the United States will for the first time be eligible for fast-track disability benefits under plans unveiled by the Department of Veterans Affairs on Friday.

The move represents another major expansion of toxic exposure benefits for veterans, this time for individuals suffering from illnesses dating back to the Vietnam War era. The changes follow mandates included in the Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act — better known as the PACT Act — passed by Congress in August 2022.

Over the last two years, a combination of administration moves and new legislation opened access to disability benefits for millions of veterans who incurred injuries from burn pit smoke, radiation contamination and other military toxic exposure events.

Mass media outlets like The Guardian, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal have been allowing the publication of some amazingly racist pieces these last few days. All are directed at middle easterners and those of middle eastern descent, just as the western empire drops more and more bombs on more and more countries in the middle east.

On Monday The Guardian published a political cartoon which would be indistinguishable from Nazi propaganda of the 1930s, except that it happens to depict a Muslim instead of a Jew. (See feature image above).

The cartoon features Iranian leader Ali Khamenei holding puppet strings to so-called Iranian proxy groups in the middle east like the Houthis, Hezbollah and Hamas, in exactly the same way Nazis used to depict Jews as malignant puppet masters manipulating world affairs.

Compare this to Nazi propaganda about Jews puppeting world leaders during the lead-up to the Holocaust.

For more than two weeks, Israeli forces have laid siege to Al-Amal Hospital in the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis, blocking all roads to the facility and deepening an already dire humanitarian crisis.

The hospital is run by the Palestine Red Crescent Society, which has been raising alarmOpens in a new tab about the 18-day siege, during which at least one Red Crescent volunteer was killed. On Tuesday, Israeli forces ordered thousands of people to evacuate the hospital, most of whom were displaced from other parts of Gaza throughout the monthslong war. Hundreds of medical workers and wounded or disabled patients remain stranded inside.

Last month, the World Health Organization reported that more than 600 people had been killed inside health care facilities since Israel launched a retaliatory war on Gaza on October 7. The “ongoing reduction of humanitarian space plus the continuing attacks on healthcare are pushing the people of Gaza to breaking point,” a WHO spokesperson saidOpens in a new tab.

Federal prosecutors have disclosed the existence of secret recordings in the bribery case against Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ). The allegedly incriminating recordings were made by a confidential informant and reportedly go to the core of the allegations against Menendez and his wife, Nadine. The pair is accused of operating a years-long bribery scheme to enrich themselves while violating the public trust.

This latest twist, detailed in a 196-page legal brief filed on Monday, sheds new light on the charges against the New Jersey Democrat. The recordings include conversations between Menendez and three New Jersey businessmen with ties to Egypt.

Following the press conference, President Biden and his top aides gathered in the Treaty Room, the President's study in the executive residence. It was at this point that the First Lady entered the room. According to Rogers, the look on Jill Biden's face indicated that she was not pleased with how the press conference had unfolded. She reportedly asked the aides, "Where were you guys? Where was the person who was going to end the press conference?"

Rogers suggests that this incident demonstrates Jill Biden's role as her husband's "fiercest protector." However, this interpretation has been met with criticism. Some argue that it raises questions about the President's ability to handle situations independently and the extent to which the First Lady is controlling him.

Gallagher, who has been serving Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District, stated, "Eight years ago, when I first ran for Congress, I promised to treat my time in office as a high-intensity deployment. Through my bipartisan work on the Armed Services and Intelligence Committees, chairing the Cyberspace Solarium Commission, and chairing the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, we’ve accomplished more on this deployment than I could have ever imagined."

However, he believes that the Founding Fathers intended for citizens to serve in Congress for a limited period before returning to their private lives. Gallagher continued, "Electoral politics was never supposed to be a career and, trust me, Congress is no place to grow old. And so, with a heavy heart, I have decided not to run for re-election."

There’s a certain particularly toxic personality type which thrives on being hated. They behave in wildly odious and destructive ways, and then when people react to this with hostility they plunge into poor-me victimhood, which they then use to justify more odious and destructive behavior.

You may have been unfortunate enough to have encountered such personalities in your own life. They behave atrociously, and then when people react to it they say “See?? I really AM being persecuted!”

Hillary Clinton is a perfect example of this personality type taken to the extreme. People hate her because she’s a phony, egomaniacal sadist who has spent her entire political career pushing for mass military bloodshed at every opportunity, but she then frames this hatred as evidence of widespread misogyny and far-right extremism, which is why the world desperately needs Hillary Clinton to help fight those things.

Any remotely normal person who was both as wealthy and as despised as Hillary Clinton would have simply retired from public life to enjoy their hundreds of millions of dollars, blissfully sheltered from the vitriol and condemnation of the common riff raff. But Clinton keeps showing up, adamantly refusing to go away, because the hatred she receives is actually what fuels her entire personal dynamic.

Joe Biden yesterday called on Israel to 'not proceed' with military action in southern Gaza without planning for the evacuation of Palestinian civilians.

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is facing growing international warnings over his army's planned offensive in Rafah amid its war with Hamas.

According to the White House, Mr Biden told Mr Netanyahu last night that the Israel Defence Forces 'should not proceed without a credible and executable plan for ensuring the safety of and support for the more than one million people sheltering there'.

But Mr Netanyahu has rejected concerns about civilian casualties in Rafah, declaring: 'Victory is in reach.'
