Thought for the day
"Silence, they say, is the voice of complicity. But silence is impossible. Silence screams. Silence is a message, just as doing nothing is an act. Let who you are ring out & resonate in every word & every deed. Yes, become who you are. There's no sidestepping your own being or your own responsibility. What you do is who you are. You are your own comeuppance. You become your own message. You are the message." -- Leonard Peltier
According to a report from ABC News, this week, Del Rio, Texas, was the location of the first federal lawsuit to be filed regarding the Uvalde elementary school shooting.
According to ABC News, the police force, the Uvalde school district, and gun distributors are the defendants in the lawsuit. Two public officials, Mandy Gutierrez, the former Robb Elementary principal, and former school district police chief Pete Arredondo are part of the lawsuit, along with the Oasis Outback gun shop and the gun manufacturer, Daniel Defense.
In an article by the New York Post, Motorola Solutions allegedly manufactured a dispatch communications system that failed to function, complicating police response. The lawsuit includes the company.
For eight years, NATO has backed puppet rulers in Ukraine, funded attacks on Donbass, repeatedly violated the Minsk Treaties, outlawed the speaking of Russian in the Luhansk and Donetsk Republics, and has destroyed democratic opposition and free media in Ukraine, leaving it a one-party government, essentially owned and financed by the US and administrated by US operatives.
Not much subtlety there.
Yet, somehow, the US has managed to convince the people of the US and other Western countries that Russia is the bad boy, is out of control and must be stopped.
In spite of all the above, Russia remained stoic and sought continually to keep a lid on the situation. It did, however, state firmly that the “red line” would be if Ukraine were to go nuclear, becoming a direct threat to Moscow. That would not be tolerated.
Surely, this was a sober heads-up to any sensible country that the one thing that must not happen would be for Ukraine to go nuclear. After all, once that Pandora’s Box was opened, the last barrier to possible nuclear war would be crossed.
In the constitutional republic of the United States of America, truth is not ascertained or defined by a simple majority of votes.
A functioning constitutional republic is built on principles — not solely on the will of the majority. Those principles are still there in the Constitution for all Americans to see — that is, for all Americans who have not been blinded by new ideologies that seek to discount those principles.
The Constitution is there to provide checks and balances, to guard against the will of majorities that go rogue under the influence of radical new dogma.
“Any Use Of Nuclear Weapons Against Russia Or Its Allies, Small-Range, Medium-Range, Any Kind Of Attack Will Be Regarded As A Nuclear Attack Against Russia, And In Response, We Will Take Action Instantaneously, No Matter What The Consequences Are.”
Those were the chilling words of Russian President Vladimir Putin during his annual State of the Union address to the Citizens of Russia and their elected officials.

On September 2oth, an ex-con vagrant with a long rap sheet, brutally beat a women at a New York subway station. The suspect, 41-year-old Waheed Foster, already had two prior arrests for assault before attacking Elizabeth Gomes. Gomes was on her way to work at Kennedy Airport when the attack occurred.
Tara Reade, the former staffer who accused Joe Biden of sexual assault, blasted Biden after giving a speech on “decency.”
Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana released a new ad blasting “Defund The Police” advocates.
A woke Minnesota high school is addressing comments from a school administrator, Vice Principal Laura Wagner, at Farmington High School. Wagner suggested staff to use their “straight, white privilege” to defend new gender neutral prom titles.
Iran has faced two weeks of civil unrest following the death of a 22-year-old woman named Mahsa Amini in religious police custody under suspicious circumstances. Tehran released CCTV footage debunking protesters’ claims that the woman was beaten into a coma, and accused the US and others of trying to foment a color revolution.
Hezbollah secretary general Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has ripped Washington for engaging in a “satanic” campaign to try to bring down the Iranian government and divide the Islamic world.
“The constant incitement against Iran and the painting of its people as an ‘enemy’ is a satanic deed aimed at ripping the nation apart,” Nasrallah said in a televised address Saturday.
“The United States exploits any incident in Iran in order to provoke the nation against the Islamic establishment, the latest of which is the protests that have broken out following Ms. Amini’s tragic death,” Nasrallah said. “US-backed vandals took advantage of the unclear circumstances surrounding her death to challenge the Islamic Republic after America’s campaign of so-called ‘maximum pressure’ failed dismally,” he added.
The United States sees no evidence suggesting that Russia has decided to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Saturday.
"I don't see anything right now that would lead me to believe that he [Russian President Vladimir Putin] has made such a decision," Austin told CNN interviewer Fareed Zakaria.
The Pentagon chief said that Washington had previously communicated these concerns to Moscow via top-level channels. When asked if he had any recent contacts with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Austin responded negatively.
An international team of scientists has hit upon evidence of considerable quantities of water between the Earth’s upper and lower mantle, feeding into the theory that our planet boasts another “ocean” besides the ones covering its surface.
A reservoir of water three times the volume of all the oceans on Earth has been discovered beneath the surface of our planet, according to an international study, the findings of which were published in the journal Nature Geoscience.
The ‘ocean’ was found between the transition zone of the Earth's upper and lower mantle as part of research carried out by a German-Italian-American team. The study lends evidence to support the theory that ocean water accompanies subducting slabs and thus enters the transition zone (TZ). In other words, our planet's water cycle includes the Earth's interior.
US law enforcement agencies across the country are increasingly seeking and gaining access to US citizens’ private movements, at times without search warrants, via third-party tracking tools, warns Just the News, particularly citing the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) findings.
A trove of records revealed through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and obtained by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) have indicated that local and state US police departments, as well as federal entities, are buying a cellphone tracking tool in order to monitor people's movements.
"Reporting and a recent investigation by EFF confirms that law enforcement across the country is regularly getting access to our private movements — with the ability to retrace our daily lives — often without a warrant," Aaron Mackey, senior staff attorney for EEF, told Just the News.
Thursday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Hannity,” Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) argued an effort was underway by the Biden Justice Department to “chill the speech” of whistleblowers stepping forward to discuss
Jordan spoke about the reported memo Garland sent out advising Department of Justice employees against cooperating directly with members of Congress and their staff.
“[I] think it’s interesting, and you pointed this out: A few weeks ago, when I was on your show, we talked about the 14 whistleblowers, FBI agents come to our office. The very next day, the very next day, Merrick Garland sends that memo out saying here are the rules if you’re going to speak to Congress. It was a memo designed to chill the speech of brave whistleblowers who want to come forward and tells the truth. We also know that some of those whistleblowers have had their security clearance revoked, which is always the first step in terminating someone at the FBI.”
UN nuclear watchdog chief Rafael Grossi is expected to hold talks in Moscow and Kyiv next week on the creation of a protection zone around the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (ZNPP) in Ukraine, the watchdog said on Saturday.
"Director General Grossi continues his consultations and other efforts aimed at agreeing and implementing a nuclear safety and security zone around the ZNPP as soon as possible. He is expected to travel to Kyiv and Moscow next week," the International Atomic Energy Agency said in a statement.
Female students at a Vermont high school have reportedly been banned from using the girls' locker room after objecting to a transgender student changing there.
Members of the Randolph Union High School girls volleyball team were banned by school officials from using the locker room pending an investigation after some members objected to a biological male changing with them, WCAX-TV reported.
One of the female students told WCAX-TV that the dispute began when the trans student made an inappropriate comment as the volleyball team was changing in the locker room, triggering an incident between students.
Webmaster addition: Here is a suggestion. Let's have three sets of locker/bathrooms. One is male only. One is female only. And the third is for those boys and girls who want to shower with anyone!
Pennsylvania Republican gubernatorial candidate and state Senator Doug Mastriano announced last Friday his plans to introduce legislation that would prohibit gender transition surgeries for children, as part of his efforts to "protect Pennsylvania’s children from the unintended consequences of fringe progressive ideologies."
"These experimental medical procedures risk the health and wellbeing of our children," Mastriano said in a press release. "I can't stand by as medical providers across the country cave to the pressures of militant leftists committed to distorting the concept of gender so that it defies the bounds of science and logic."
Moscow has repeatedly warned European nations that the decision to cut themselves off from Russian energy would mean the collapse of entire sectors of the European Union’s economy. On Friday, President Putin accused the perpetrators of the attacks on Nord Stream of embarking “on the destruction of Europe’s entire energy infrastructure.”
Without Russian gas, Europe’s dependence on America is all but guaranteed, Welt business observer Daniel Wetzel has indicated.
In a piece this week exploring the European Union’s precarious energy situation, Wetzel pointed out the that bloc’s room for maneuver is extremely limited when it comes to finding vast quantities of gas at reasonable prices to replace those traditionally provided by Russia.
The observer cited a study recently commissioned by German gas industry association Zukunft Gas by Cologne University’s Energy Economics Institute, which modeled scenarios for Europe’s gas demand and the ability by countries outside the region to deliver.

US President Joe Biden on Friday directly addressed his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, urging him not to “misunderstand” that Washington and NATO are ready to defend “every single inch” of NATO territory.
Biden’s remarks came as a response to a speech that Putin delivered earlier on Friday before signing treaties paving the way for four former Ukrainian regions to join Russia, a move the US and its allies condemned in the strongest of terms.
“America is fully prepared with our NATO allies to defend every single inch of NATO territory. Mr. Putin, don’t misunderstand what I’m saying. Every inch,” Biden said without elaborating about which specific statements by the Russian leader he was responding to. In his speech Putin, among other things, blamed the US for creating “a precedent” by using nuclear weapons against Japan in 1945.
The damage to Russia’s Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines means Europe is indefinitely deprived of one of its key gas supply routes, Gazprom spokesman Sergey Kupriyanov said on Friday.
Technical data “allows [Gazprom] to say with certainty” that the sharp pressure drops were caused by physical damage, the spokesman stressed.
According to him, at the time of the incident, the pipelines were not transporting gas, but both were filled with 800 million cubic meters of gas and ready for service, equivalent to Denmark’s consumption for three months.

Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger has said that Washington’s attempts to incorporate Ukraine into NATO after the collapse of the Soviet Union were not prudent.
Speaking on Friday to the Council on Foreign Relations, Kissinger said that “it was not a wise American policy to attempt to include Ukraine into NATO.”
He said Russia regarded its sphere of influence in Eastern Europe as a “safety belt” and US efforts to encroach upon former members of the Soviet bloc under its umbrella after the Berlin wall fell basically compromised Russian security.
He, however, claimed that the US-led NATO move to encroach on former members of the Soviet Union did not justify attempts by Russian President Vladimir Putin to re-incorporate Ukraine into Moscow’s sphere of influence by a “surprise attack.”
Kissinger said he does not know if it is possible to make peace with the Russian leader, but stressed that the West “must seek an opportunity for an arrangement that guarantees Ukrainian freedom” and keeps the country part of the European system.
Webmaster addition: I wonder what is the purpose of this broadcast. Technically, the nuclear missiles are ready to go on all sides. But only yesterday there was that story that the Pentagon was making plans to target Putin personally. But such plans are always being considered. So the Pentagon story may have been a warning to Putin to back off or face death. Thus, this story may well be Russia's message not to try to attack the Kremlin!
For the umpteenth time, a witness called to testify by Democrats during hearings on abortion laws claimed that biological men are capable of getting pregnant and giving birth.
They’re the party of science!
During a House Oversight Committee hearing Thursday, Planned Parenthood’s Medical Director for Primary and Trans Care (yep that’s a thing) made the claim.
GOP rep Andrew Clyde asked Dr. Bhavik Kumar “So can biological men become pregnant and give birth?” to which Kumar replied “Men can have pregnancies, especially trans men.”
Clyde followed up, “So, are you saying that a biological female who identifies as a man and therefore becomes pregnant is, quote, a man? Is that what you’re saying?”
Kumar responded, “These questions about who can become pregnant are really missing the point, and I’m here to talk about what’s happening in Texas.”
“This is me asking a question and you answering,” Clyde interjected, adding “I’m asking the question, sir, not you.”
“Right, and I’m answering the question,” Kumar replied, further stating “Somebody with a uterus may have the capability of becoming pregnant whether they’re a woman or a man, that doesn’t make a difference.”
“Ok, we’re done,” an exasperated Clyde responded adding “This isn’t complicated. Let me tell you: if a person has a uterus and is born female, they are a woman. That is not a man, and the vast majority of the world considers that to be a woman, because there are biological differences between men and women.”
“I Can’t believe it’s necessary to say this, but men cannot get pregnant and cannot give birth regardless of how they identify themselves,” Clyde asserted, adding “Why in the world would Democrats bring in a person whose title is director of trans care for an abortion hearing when only biological women can become pregnant?”
It's not just heating that could be missing across Europe this winter: cell phones may be the next to go. That's because if power cuts or energy rationing knocks out parts of the mobile networks across the region, mobile phones could go dark around Europe this winter according to the latest doomsday reporting from Reuters.
While everyone knows by now that Europe's chances of rationing and power shortages have exploded ever since Moscow suspended gas supplies, in France, the situation is even worse as several nuclear power plants are shutting down for maintenance. And the cherry on top: telecom industry officials told Reuters they fear a severe winter will put Europe's telecoms infrastructure to the test, forcing companies and governments to try to mitigate the impact (i.e., more bailout demands).
The problem, as four telecoms executives put it, is that currently there are not enough back-up systems in many European countries to handle widespread power cuts, raising the prospect of mobile phone outages. Realizing that in just weeks Europe could be cell phone free, countries including France, Sweden and Germany, are scarmbling to ensure communications can continue even if power cuts end up exhausting back-up batteries installed on the thousands of cellular antennas spread across their territory.
Two weeks ago the US took the historic step of lifting defense trade restrictions on Cyprus. This will take effect for the fiscal year 2023, and the policy will be amended October 1st, according to prior statements of Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Like with the recent upgraded US F-16 transfer to Greece, Turkey isn't happy, also as military tensions continue to build over Ankara's charge that the Greek army is militarizing islands off the Turkish coast. Turkey now says it will send more troops and weapons to the Turkish-occupied territory of northern Cyprus.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday lashed out at the US-Cyprus partnership, warning that Washington's opening of weapons transfers will trigger an arms race on the divided island.
August 31, 2022, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized the reformulated COVID bivalent booster shots by Moderna and Pfizer1 — all without the required convening of its Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee (VRBPAC), which would typically discuss or vote on the authorization or approval of a new vaccine.
Instead, the FDA pushed the matter before the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). ACIP met for eight hours September 1, 2022, and authorized the untested boosters 13-to-1.2 3 CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky endorsed the recommendation later that evening.
Pfizer’s new booster, authorized for people age 12 and older, is a bivalent injection targeting Omicron subvariants BA.4 and BA.5, which are the two currently in circulation.
Moderna’s shot, authorized for adults only, aged 18 and older, targets the already extinct Wuhan strain and Omicron subvariant BA.1.4 The two bivalent boosters is only be available to those who have already received the primary two-dose series and/or a monovalent booster at least two months ago.5
Disney is laying off 28,000 workers. American Airlines and United Airlines plan to cut 31,000 workers. Last week's disappointing unemployment report shows that we have a long way to go. Perhaps a lot longer than we think.
I’m going to quote at length from my friend David Rosenberg, who I believe is absolutely spot on:
"You tally up these sectors and before the crisis, they supported 32 million jobs, or about a third of the private sector workforce, and it looks to me as though half of them are not going back to their old jobs.
"And I’m not sure many people understand that amusement parks, airlines, hoteliers and restaurants cannot stay in business at 50% capacity (or even 75% in the case of restaurants).
"… As it stands, the US Chamber of Commerce said that 25% of small businesses have already shut down. Another survey by Ipsos concluded that two-thirds are still nervous about leaving their homes; 59% say they intend to remain locked down on their own until signs emerge that the virus is 'fully contained.' A YouGov/CBS poll concludes that 85% of American households say they wouldn’t get on an airplane even if they could. That’s why the industry needs a bailout!
Hurricane Ian obliterated areas of southwest Florida this week – leaving a trail of death and destruction. The current death toll is at least 45 people, but that number is expected to rise as search-and-rescue teams access areas that have been isolated from the devastating effects of the Category 4 hurricane.
Hurricane Ian made landfall near the island of Cayo Costa with winds of 155 mph – just 2 mph short of a Category 5 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale. Only three other hurricanes that hit Florida were stronger: Labor Day Hurricane (1935): 185 mph, Hurricane Andrew (1992): 165 mph, and Hurricane Michael (2018): 160 mph.
State regulators Friday asked a judge to place a property-insurance company in receivership, making it the sixth Florida property insurer declared insolvent this year amid widespread financial problems in the industry.
The Florida Department of Financial Services sought to be appointed receiver for FedNat Insurance Co., which canceled 56,500 policies in May and reached an agreement to transfer about 83,000 policies to another company in June.
Despite shedding the policies, FedNat remained responsible for claims and other types of obligations from before June 1, according to court documents. It notified the state Office of Insurance Regulation on Sept. 13 that it did not have enough money for what is known in the insurance industry as a “runoff” of the obligations.
Microsoft founder Bill Gates warned that political polarization in America could lead to civil war and “bring it all to an end.”
Gates’ comments came while speaking at this year’s Forbes 400 Summit on Philanthropy. The basis for his argument includes future election controversies.
“I admit that political polarization may bring it all to an end, we’re going to have a hung election and a civil war,” he predicted.
Gates also suggested that conspiracy theories involving vaccines and misinformation and his own role in their distribution are a contributing factor to the animosity felt across the country.
