The protests are a reaction to Pelosi's support for Israel during its ongoing defensive conflict with Hamas in Gaza.

Last week, a pile of manure was dumped outside Pelosi's San Francisco residence. In addition, two activists from the anti-war group Code Pink were charged in connection with a protest that resulted in damage to Pelosi's garage door and the surrounding street and sidewalk, which were splattered with red paint. Code Pink has been staging protests at Pelosi's home for over a decade, but the intensity of these demonstrations has increased since Hamas launched an attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

More Americans believe former President Donald Trump will win the 2024 presidential election rather than would pick President Joe Biden, should that matchup officially materialize, the latest survey from the Economist/YouGov found.

The survey asked respondents,” Regardless of who you prefer, who do you think would win the presidential election if Joe Biden were the Democratic candidate and Donald Trump were the Republican candidate?”

While the two are tied with 44 percent each in a head-to-head matchup, more believe Trump would actually emerge as the victor. Forty-five percent said they believe Trump would win, compared to 34 percent who expressed the same confidence in Biden. One in five, 21 percent, remain unsure.

Trump maintains his advantage among registered voters, specifically, as 44 percent believe he would win compared to 37 percent who said the same of Biden. Republicans are more confident that Trump would win than Democrats are confident that Biden would win, with 84 percent confidence and 73 percent confidence, respectively.

Evidence including sworn impeachment inquiry testimony, confirmed emails and financial records increasingly show that President Joe Biden’s meetings with his son’s foreign clients were closely followed by payments and agreements that advanced his family’s business deals.

House Republicans on Thursday subpoenaed new financial records belonging to Hunter Biden, his associates, and companies in a growing effort to find evidence that Joe Biden benefited personally from his son’s foreign dealings.

Rep. Greg Steube agreed on the "Just the News, No Noise" television show on Thursday that Joe Biden played a “rainmaker” role in Hunter Biden’s business ventures.

Order is breaking down all over the western world as governments lose control of their populations.  Farmers have been holding angry protests throughout Europe, enormous groups of migrants have been rioting on a regular basis, looting has become a way of life in many communities in the United States, and now truckers are calling for a historic boycott of New York City.  We are witnessing very alarming explosions of anger and frustration all over the western world right now, and there are no easy answers because most of us have lost faith in those that are governing us.

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley is seeing double standards in Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and former President Donald Trump’s case and he is hoping the whole world can see it.

Speaking on Friday, Turley pointed to Willis’ actions during her Thursday testimony on allegations surrounding her romantic relationship with Nathan Wade, a special prosecutor whom she hired to work on Trump’s election case.

Drawing parallel to the way Trump acted when he gave his own testimony, Turley stated, “Trump went on the stand and in a couple of proceedings attacked counsel, attacked the motivations of the proceedings and called people liars. She did exactly that. She was out-trumping Trump. He was repeatedly sanctioned. In her case, the judge seemed to throw in the towel. It’s not that he’s a bad judge, I thought he was doing a good job overall, but towards the end he seemed to sort of just give up control of those proceedings.”

(Deroy Murdock, Headline USA) Democrats constantly crow about their faith in “the right to choose.” But this applies to little beyond abortion.

Any woman who chooses to buy a gun or send her child to a charter school should expect “pro-choice” Democrats to stand in her way.

Democrats crave control and uniformity, even when it comes to medical care for America’s veterans. Democrats want vets in the Department of Veterans Affairs, not getting cured in the private sector.

Obama–Biden’s VA waitlist scandal found veterans dying before they could see their doctors. Donald J. Trump promised to fix this lethal mess. And he did.

President Trump signed the Mission Act on June 6, 2018. It holds that if the VA cannot book a primary medical appointment “within 20 days of the date of the request” by a veteran, or 28 days for specialty care, then that vet may seek therapy outside the VA, and the VA will foot the bill.

Trump opened an Office of Community Care to oversee the program, promoted it via a dedicated website (the now defunct MissionAct.VA.gov), and focused on reducing the pile of old cases that awaited adjudication.

This was just too much freedom and choice for President Joe Biden and his comrades. Soon after taking power, they started to lasso vets and haul them back into the VA Corral.

In October 2021, Team Biden padlocked the Office of Community Care and replaced it with a “new integrated access and care coordination model.” How appetizing!

The pro-Mission Act website dropped off the VA’s front page. Those who could track down the link found it connected to a “Choose VA” page that sang the praises of government-sector veterans’ care.

While these two steps backward were inconvenient, Biden’s reversal of Trump’s progress on improving the case backlog truly hurt veterans. The pertinent statistics are jarring.

The VA’s relevant database is a bubbling, jet-filled hot tub for public-policy geeks. Its Monday Morning Workload Reports indicate the level of paperwork facing VA benefits bureaucrats as they sit down at their desks and begin each week.

According to these figures, the day after Trump began his presidency, the Jan. 21, 2017 report found the VA with a backlog of 91,742 claims nationwide that had languished without conclusion for more than 125 days.

By Jan. 18, 2020, two days before Trump’s third anniversary as president, the equivalent figure was 68,911—down 24.9%.

Three days after Joe Biden took office, the Jan. 23, 2021, MMWR backlog was 211,443, reflecting the devastating effects of COVID-19, for which Trump and Biden are blameless. (China’s Xi Jinping is as culpable as anyone.) The Jan. 20, 2024, data, exactly three years into Biden’s presidency, reflect a backlog of 406,864 claims—up 92.4%.

In short, Trump spent three years cutting the VA’s case backlog by one quarter. Biden spent as much time nearly doubling it.

Evidently, this is how Joe “Nice Guy” Biden proves to be the adult in the room who returned everything to normal.

The VA also is ignoring the 20-day primary/28-day specialty care wait time before vets can seek community care. Rather than start the clock when the veteran makes the request, as the Mission Act requires, VA schedulers may begin each countdown whenever they want. This traps vets on the VA plantation and limits their access to private-sector options.

Now, to abuse America’s beloved veterans even further, the VA spent $63.6 million in Fiscal Year 2022 to process illegal-alien health claims, even as the medical paperwork of U.S. citizens gathered dust.

Claire's Observations:    Absoflippinglutely unbelievable, but perfectly predictable from Bi-di Bye's Administration.

This just another way of holding our Vets in total contempt, with the understanding that medical neglect can actually kill  some of these people, or horrifically  limit the quality of life they have left.

There are moments I wish I could manifest in the dreams of all the VA pencil-pushers who collectively concocted this insanity, and sing very badly in their dreams for the rest of their miserable lives. I haven't quite figured out how yet; but I am working on it!!! :-)

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson says the city will not be spending more federal pandemic relief funds on migrant care.

Reporters questioned Johnson Thursday, after state and county leaders announced plans to spend another $250 million on migrants. Johnson decided against committing another $70 million, saying the deal is not just about financial resources.

“Remember that the state of Illinois committed to 2,000 beds back in November, and we are still working out and flushing out the details around that,” Johnson said.

The mayor has proposed raising the city’s real-estate transfer tax to address homelessness, while more than 70% of the city’s federal American Rescue Plan Act pandemic assistance money remains available. He dismissed the notion of using ARPA funds for migrants.

Early Sunday morning at the Greenbrier Apartments, a woman fatally shot a man in what is being considered a case of self-defense, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department. Deputies, who responded to the incident around 5 a.m., found that the woman had shot the man inside her apartment, where she lives with her two children.

The woman reported that she was alerted by loud banging at her door. When she approached, a man forcibly entered her home. In response, she grabbed her gun from her purse and demanded the intruder to identify himself. As he continued to advance towards her, she shot him, resulting in his death at the scene.

Immediately following the shooting, the woman contacted the authorities. After conducting an initial investigation and questioning at their headquarters, the woman was released. They concluded that her actions were in self-defense.

A recent Gallup poll shows that while Democrats still hold a significant advantage over Republicans with Black voters, their 47-point lead is the “smallest Gallup has recorded in its polling, dating back to 1999.”

When asked what political party they identify with, 19% of Black adults said Republican or lean Republican, compared to 66% who said Democrat or lean Democrat.

“Most of the decline has been recent, with the net-Democratic ID for this group falling 19 points from a 66-point advantage in 2020,” Gallup said. “At that time, 77% of Black adults favored the Democrats and 11% the Republicans, so the 2023 findings represent an 11-point decrease in Democratic affiliation since 2020 and an eight-point increase in Republican affiliation.”

Overall, Gallup concluded in its “bottom line” that the data should be “especially concerning” for Democrats.

Independent journalist Michael Shellenberger has broken a story on Substack this week exposing Barack Obama’s CIA both before and after the 2016 election:

 1. Lying about Trump and Russia and Clinton (Hillary was actually Russia’s preference, but the CIA manipulated their own intelligence findings to stand the real conclusions on the head and point to Trump as the Russian preference; and.

 2. Using international intelligence networks dominated by the U.S., to put out queries/ a.k.a. commit espionage upon 26 of Trump’s associates -- including Ben Carson.

Tom Fitton brings up a solid point on the Shellenberger bombshells: it is the U.S. Congress that now must secure the hidden CIA documents, referenced by reliable witnesses, on the agency's efforts to undermine Trump before the 2016 and 2020 elections. Further, it is necessary that Obama be subject to the same investigative furor to which Trump has been subject to -- undoubtedly under Obama's direction. Shellenberger summarizes the CIA surveillance scheme, what he describes as a two-part strategy:

“Now, multiple credible sources tell Public and Racket {Matt Taibbi’s site} that the United States Intelligence Community (IC), including the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), illegally mobilized foreign intelligence agencies to target Trump advisors long before the summer of 2016.

The new information fills many gaps in our understanding of the Russia collusion hoax and is supported by testimony already in the public record.

Until now, the official story has been that the FBI’s investigation began after Australian intelligence officials told US officials that a Trump aide had boasted to an Australian diplomat that Russia had damning material about Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

In truth, the US IC asked the “Five Eyes” intelligence alliance to surveil Trump’s associates and share the intelligence they acquired with US agencies, say sources close to a House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HSPCI) investigation. The Five Eyes nations are the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.”

Remember the raid on Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago?

“After Public and Racket {Matt Taibi’s site} had been told that President Barack Obama’s CIA Director, John Brennan, had identified 26 Trump associates for the Five Eyes to target, a source confirmed that the IC had “identified [them] as people to ‘bump,’ or make contact with or manipulate. They were targets of our own IC and law enforcement -- targets for collection and misinformation.”

Unknown details about the FBI’s investigation of the Trump campaign and raw intelligence related to the IC’s surveillance of the Trump campaign are in a 10-inch binder that Trump ordered to be declassified at the very end of his term, sources told Public and Racket.

If the top-secret documents exist proving these charges, they are potentially proof that multiple US intelligence officials broke laws against spying and election interference.”

Parliamentary Debate on “Dérive Sectaire”,  Sectarian Drift

The draft law had first been debated on February 13.  2024

“A coalition of oppositions rejected the article [IV] on Tuesday evening [February 13], as the Senate did at the end of 2023. MPs LFI, LR and RN denounce a threat to “public freedoms” and to “whistleblowers” who criticize the pharmaceutical industry.

The following day (February 14, 2024) late into the night, following the question period,  a narrow vote was taken (116-108) repealing the vote of the previous day. There were about 40% of the 577 members of the National Assembly present when the vote was called.

After long debates, the deputies adopted at first reading the draft law against “sectarian abominations” [dérive sectaire]  on February 14, in which they reintegrated the controversial article 4, which creates a new crime of “provocation to abstention from medical care”.(“provocation à l’abstention de soins”)

Article 4 of Chapter III, proposes to amend the Criminal Code to punish “provocation” on a sick person to “abandon or refrain from following medical treatment”, if this abandonment is presented as beneficial when it could lead to dangerous consequences.

According to France Info:

Article IV, “aims to fight against “charlatans” and “gurus 2.0”, who promote on the Internet methods presented as “miracle solutions” to cure serious diseases such as cancers. Often without scientific training and in defiance of science, they can drift towards behaviors of sectarian influence.

The “dérive sectaire” (sectarian drift) has allegedly increased dramatically, …”in particular because of the Covid-19 epidemic and the use of social networks.”

By punishing these behaviors, the crime of “provocation to abstention from care” would therefore serve to “fill a real gap in our arsenal by equipping us with effective means to fight against therapeutic excesses of a sectarian”… Up to three years in prison for these “provocations”

After long debates, the deputies adopted at first reading the draft law against “sectarian abominations” [dérive sectaire]  on February 14, in which they reintegrated the controversial article 4, which creates a new crime of “provocation to abstention from medical care”.(“provocation à l’abstention de soins”) (France Info, emphasis added)

It’s a totalitarian concept.

Claire's Observations:  This is utterly NOT about public health, but engineered to preserve the profits of the pharmaceutical companies creating and distributing this poison, and those who profit greatly from peddling it, as it appears many members of the French Parliament have done/are doing.

Another huge breakthrough has occurred in Avdeevka that may have put the final nail in the coffin of the bitterly disputed town. Though Avdeevka is smaller than Bakhmut, Mariupol, and many other captured towns, it actually—in some ways—represents a crowning offensive achievement of the war because it has been fought for continuouslythe longest, and as a consequence, was the most fortified of any town.

I posted ‘Sitrep’ maps and updates from literally 2015 before, showing how the same exact areas like Yasinovskaya to the east of ‘Tsar’s Hunt’ was being contested with footage of battles nearly a decade ago. So for Avdeevka to fall now would be a monumental and symbolically watershed moment of this conflict.

The latest news brings us confirmation from both sides that Russian forces have broken through to the ‘Industrial Avenue’ and beyond, which has entirely severed the city into two parts, cutting the supply route:

Webmaster addition:  It's time for someone to stand up and say this war is lost. Zelensky cannot defeat Russia even with the billions of dollars given to him, and it is time to stop pouring good money after bad into this fiasco!

More and more evidence is emerging about illegal US biomedical activities in ex-Ukrainian territories. In addition to the topic of biological weapons, it was recently discovered that Western Big Pharma companies were conducting drug tests on ethnic Russian citizens in a psychiatric hospital in Donbass with approval and support from Ukrainian authorities.

According to recently discovered documents published by Russian media, patients at a psychiatric hospital in Mariupol (Donetsk People’s Republic) were being subjected to irregular medical tests by agents linked to Western Big Pharma companies.

The hospital “No. 7″ in Mariupol is currently undergoing restoration work. During the repair activities, local employees found documents in the basement of the psychiatric sector’s facilities which prove that foreign companies were unofficially testing rheumatological drugs on local patients.

The objective of the research was to evaluate the effectiveness of medicines according to the standards established by the American College of Rheumatology (ACR). Several companies participated in the experiments, including large Big Pharma corporations, such as “Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Celltrion, Novatris International AG, IQVIA, Sanofi, Galapagos NV, Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Abbott Laboratories, Covance, Merck KGaA, Centocor Biopharmaceutical and [even] a branch of Samsung that produces medical equipment.”

In the same place where the documents were stored, boxes containing biomaterials were also found. The materials were apparently ready to be sent to laboratories in the US, UK and Switzerland. With this, the Russian authorities were able to obtain biological evidence, not just documentary one, about such research – showing that the experiments were in fact carried out

Among the puzzling questions that the media chooses to ignore is asking high government officials why they are exercising the illegal use of power that violates the rule of law which they are required to obey.

This week, the Veterans for Peace (VFP) made it very easy for reporters to pose questions by sending an open letter (see veteransforpeace.org) to the inspector general of the U.S. State Department and Antony Blinken, secretary of state, invoking several U.S. statutes that require the “termination of provision of military weapons and munitions to Israel.”

Josh Paul, a former senior official in the State Department’s office charged with reviewing weapon transfers to foreign countries, said:

“The secretary and all relevant officials under his purview should take this letter from Veterans for Peace with the utmost seriousness. It is a stark reminder of the importance of abiding by the laws and policies that relate to arms transfers.”

What laws are being violated by the State Department daily as it approves ships and cargo planes full of weapons of mass destruction to be used in Israel’s war crimes and genocide against hundreds of thousands of Gaza’s civilians, mostly children and women?

These are the laws highlighted in the VFP letter:

American Veterans Demand Termination of Weapons to Israel

  • The Foreign Assistance Act, which forbids the provision of assistance to a government which “engages in a consistent pattern of gross violations of internationally recognized human rights.”
  • Arms Export Control Act, which says countries that receive U.S. military aid can only use weapons for legitimate self-defense and internal security. Israel’s genocidal campaign in Gaza goes way beyond self-defense and internal security.
  • The U.S. War Crimes Act, which forbids grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions, including wilful killing, torture or inhuman treatment, willfully causing great suffering or serious injury to body or health, and unlawful deportation or transfer, perpetrated by the Israeli Occupying Forces.
  • The Leahy Law, which prohibits the U.S. Government from using funds for assistance to units of foreign security forces where there is credible information implicating that unit in the commission of gross violations of human rights.
  • The Genocide Convention Implementation Act, which was enacted to implement U.S. obligations under the Genocide Convention, provides for criminal penalties for individuals who commit or incite others to commit genocide

Under these laws, the State Department has a “Conventional Arms Transfer Policy” which, the letter notes, “prohibit [U.S. weapons transfers when it’s likely they] will be used by Israel to commit… genocide, crimes against humanity, grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions of 1949, [including attacks intentionally directed against civilian objects or civilians protected] or other serious violations of international humanitarian or human rights laws.”

FoxNews host Jesse Watters has observed that the five hours of recorded testimony President Joe Biden gave in his recent federal case could scuttle his reelection efforts.

Special Counsel Robert Hur conducted an investigation into whether the president mishandled classified documents. He concluded that the president likely did commit the crimes as described — but that he is too old and memory-challenged to stand trial.

“It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him — by then a former president well into his eighties — of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness,” Hur stated in his report.

Of course, this poses a significant dilemma of “you can’t have it both ways” to Biden’s supporters. If he is too feeble-minded to stand trial, one wonders how he can function as president of the United States.

Israel's home front is preparing for a possible escalation in its conflict with Lebanon's militant group Hezbollah, fearing attacks on the power grid and the deployment of devastating "Volcano" (Iranian-made Burkan) missiles.

According to Nayef Zidani, a reporter with The New Arab's Arabic service Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, Hezbollah could target Israel's electricity infrastructure in an upcoming war, causing prolonged outages and impacting hospitals.

Israel has held unpublicised emergency meetings recently to survey contingency plans that include backup generators, according to the report, particularly in communities near the border with Lebanon.

Discussions in Israeli government meetings tackled evacuation plans for respirator-dependent patients and communication strategies if internet and phone networks fail, including deploying SMS messaging over internet-based alerts.

Israel has yet to make these concerns public, according to the reporter, fearing causing panic and tipping off Hezbollah.

Claire's Observations:  Even if Hezbollah doesn't know this, their Iranian sponsors do. Iranian leadership is many things; stupid is not one of them.

Bari Weiss of The Free Press sat down with Harvard Economics Professor Roland Fryer at the University of Austin last week to discuss what it means to pursue the truth.

Fryer, a highly respected economist, told Weiss about the intense blowback that was dealt to him after he published a study in 2016 showing there were "no racial differences in officer involved-shootings."

After the study was published, in a matter of days, the professor said, "All hell broke loose," and people were "losing their minds when they didn't like the result."

The study found that police were over two times more likely to use physical force, such as manhandling or beating, against black and hispanic individuals compared to people from other races. On the other hand, the findings also revealed that police were 23.8% less inclined to use firearms against black individuals and 8.5% less inclined to do so against Hispanic individuals, compared to whites.

“We made independent candidates — who had leads of 70,000-80,000 votes — lose by putting on fake stamps,” he added.

Israel was behind attacks on natural gas pipelines that occurred inside Iran last week, The New York Times has reported, marking an escalation of Israel’s covert operations.

The Times report cited two unnamed Western officials and a military strategist affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). They said the attack, which hit two pipelines in the provinces of Fars and Chahar Mahal Bakhtiari, required deep knowledge of Iran’s energy infrastructure.

The Western officials said the attack was meant as a symbolic move and didn’t cause much damage, but Iranian officials said the attack caused disruptions in at least five provinces across Iran. According to the Times, energy experts estimate the sabotage knocked out about 15 percent of Iran’s daily natural gas production.
