After nearly 20 years in which members of the U.S. Army’s Delta Force had remained silent about the capture of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, retired Army Master Sergeant Kevin Holland spoke publicly of Hussein’s December 13, 2003, arrest.
The J6 Proud Boy Leadership trial, where jurors will decide whether leaders of the Proud Boys are guilty of sedition and serve up to 20 years in prison, began jury selection on December 19 with US District Judge Timothy E. Kelly presiding.
Judge Kelly initially predicted the litigation of the case patriot groups are calling “The Trial of The Century” would require only 2 to 3 days to complete the Jury Selection process. But after a full week in the courtroom, just 21 of 46 jurors have been selected, less than half of the potential jurors needed have been qualified to serve.
Throughout the jury selection process so far, there has been increasingly evident that finding an unbiased jury pool within Washington DC – ESPECIALLY in a trial with Proud Boy defendants – will prove to be a very arduous and tumultuous task on several levels. Contention between the government prosecutors and the attorneys representing the 5 defendants has flared up nearly each of the 5 days thus far.
As has frequently been the case in America’s recent wars, in Ukraine a largely hidden clandestine conflict is paralleling the actual fighting on the ground. One should assume that a variety of western spies using various kinds of cover are operating at all levels as well as in adjacent areas in Poland and the Baltic states. The Russians certainly have their own informants inside the Ukrainian government itself and Kiev has proven itself capable of carrying out so-called covert actions in Moscow, to include the car bombing assassination of Darya Dugin on August 20th. At the same time, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Britain’s MI-6 are known to be working assiduously to collect information that suggest vulnerabilities in the Russian offensive capabilities while also seeking to identify those potentially recruitable individuals who do not support President Vladimir Putin’s intervention to liberate Donbas. The activities of spies and the agents that they direct should be considered a major part of the overall war effort by both sides.
Recently there have been some interesting articles revealing what some of the spies and their political masters have been up to over the past six months. Bear in mind, however, that the business of spying is 50% dissimulation to conceal what is actually taking place, so what the various intelligence services have been revealing is more than likely to include at least some deliberate misdirection. One recalls how in February 1981 Bill Casey, the new CIA Director appointed by President Ronald Reagan, famously quipped “We’ll know our Disinformation Program is complete when everything the American public believes is false.”
The contentious fight among Republicans as to who will be the next speaker of the House took another turn as nine House Republicans penned a harsh warning against electing House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to the position. McCarthy needs 218 votes, but the GOP has only 222 seats, and a defection of five votes would prevent him from gaining the position.
You may have come to the conclusion that there is a racism problem in America, and that white people are to blame, due to the recent abundance of national media coverage, protests, and popular phrases such as ‘White Silence is Violence.’
But this is not what any of the official statistics say.
New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind recently tweeted a video from the Hate Crime Accountability Project, a group that has documented hate crimes in New York City to determine which group is most likely to perpetrate and if there have been consequences for the perpetrators.
The group found that 94% of Anti-Jewish Assaults in New York City from 2018 through 2022 were against Orthodox Jews, and 97% were perpetrated by other minorities.
The Nazi regime is known for strict censorship and suppression of ‘the arts,’ but the main target of Nazi censorship was books that contained sexually explicit material. The Nazis believed that such material was immoral and had a negative influence on German culture. As part of their ‘cultural restoration effort, they burned large numbers of books that contained any kind of sexual content.
The Nazis targeted books that contained explicit descriptions of sexual acts, as well as books that contained any kind of sexual references. This included books that contained positive portrayals of homosexuality, as well as those that contained erotic content or explicit scenes of violence. The Nazis believed that the books they burned contained “filth and degeneracy” and were a danger to German culture and morality.
As such, they conducted large-scale book burnings throughout Germany, destroying thousands of books in an effort to cleanse German culture of any kind of sexual content or references. In addition to books, the Nazis also burned other kinds of material such as posters, photographs, and films that contained sexual references or content.
Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-MS) and Vice Chairwoman Liz Cheney (R-WY) wrote to Richard Sauber, special counsel to President Joe Biden, saying they “fully share” a “concern for the safety, security, and reputations” of its witnesses as the panel dissolves and Republicans take control of the House this week.
Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) will vacate her congressional seat on Tuesday after becoming a wealthy woman during her six years of serving Wyoming.
Cheney, who lost her Republican primary by nearly 40 points in August, will depart Congress on January 3 and return home as a defeated 56-year-old never Trumper.
Cheney will not depart Congress empty-handed. During her six years in Congress, she has become very wealthy. Breitbart News reported in August that Cheney’s net worth ballooned from an estimated $7 million when she first took office in 2017 to possibly more than $44 million in 2020. Depending on the specifics of her latest financial disclosure form, Cheney’s net worth could have skyrocketed up to 600 percent in Congress.
According to her 2020 Personal Financial Disclosure form, Cheney declared a net worth between $10,422,023 and $44,140,000, stemming from assets valued between $10,432,024 and $44,155,000. She reported no earned income, gifts, or transactions. She did, however, declare she held three posts, including a trustee position at the University of Wyoming, membership of a holding company, and what appears to be a position in her family’s trust.
US appears to be in the process of transferring its Patriot air defense missile system to Ukraine. CNN in its article, “Exclusive: US finalizing plans to send Patriot missile defense system to Ukraine,” claims the US will approve and then quickly ship the system or systems into Ukraine in just days after the decision is made.
Paradoxically, CNN admits that training the large numbers of Ukrainians necessary to operate the system will take months. This has left analysts speculating that in fact NATO personnel already familiar with the system will operate it merely posing as “Ukrainians.”
This represents a significant escalation. While Western forces are believed to be covertly operating across Ukraine against Russian forces in a variety of roles, Western personnel operating an ever-growing number of sophisticated weapons may lead to mission creep in terms of other sophisticated Western weapons including Western aircraft and tanks entering the conflict with Western operators behind the controls.
The decision to send Patriot missiles follows a now steady tempo of Russian missile and drone strikes across Ukraine targeting military and dual-use infrastructure including the power grid. The Western media admits Ukraine’s own Soviet-era air defense systems are dwindling in number and running low on interceptor missiles.
Jonathan Cox faced an agonizing decision. He was scheduled to teach two classes this past fall at the University of Central Florida that would explore colorblind racism, the concept that ostensibly race-neutral practices can have a discriminatory impact. The first, “Race and Social Media,” featured a unit on “racial ideology and color-blindness.” The second, “Race and Ethnicity,” included a reading on “the myth of a color-blind society.” An assistant sociology professor, Cox had taught both courses before; they typically drew 35 to 40 undergraduates apiece.
As recently as August 2021, Cox had doubted that the controversy over critical race theory — which posits, among other things, that racism is ingrained in America’s laws and power structure — would hamstring his teaching. Asked on a podcast what instructors would do if, as anticipated, Florida restricted the teaching of CRT in higher education, he said that they would need to avoid certain buzzwords. “What many of us are looking at doing is just maybe shifting some of the language that we’re using.”
But a clash with state law seemed inevitable, once Florida’s governor, Ron DeSantis, proposed what he called the strongest legislation in the nation against “the state-sanctioned racism that is critical race theory.” Last April, DeSantis signed the Individual Freedom Act, also known as the “Stop Woke Act,” into law. It bans teaching that one race or gender is morally superior to another and prohibits teachers from making students feel guilty for past discrimination by members of their race. And it specifically bars portraying racial colorblindness — which the law labels a virtue — as racist. A DeSantis spokesperson, Jeremy Redfern, told me in an email that the law “protects the open exchange of ideas” (italics in the original) by prohibiting teachers from “forcing discriminatory concepts on students.”
Recently, a school District came under fire for implementing a rule that many said discriminated against transgender students.
Of course, the case wound up in a higher court. This time, the court has backed the red school District.
Fox News reports, “The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals announced its 7-4 decision on Friday, ruling that the St. Johns County School Board did not discriminate against transgender students based on sex, or violate federal civil rights law by requiring transgender students to use gender-neutral bathrooms or bathrooms matching their biological sex.”
The decision was divided by political party. Republicans sided with the School District, stating that there was no discrimination. However, Democrats sided with Drew Adams. Drew Adams is a biological female that sued the school District after being denied access to the boy’s bathroom.
A man is charged with murder after he allegedly attacked a dollar store employee with a machete in northwest Ohio Sunday afternoon. Officers with the Upper Sandusky Police Department were called to the Dollar Tree at 1120 East Wyandot Avenue for a report of a man waiving a machete around inside the store.
Officers arrived at the store and found 22-year-old Keris Riebel dead at the scene. The man, who police identified as 27-year-old Bethel Bekele, left the store before police arrived. One of the officers found the suspect a short time later on South Fifth Street and arrested him. Investigators learned Bekele entered the store with the machete and struck Riebel multiple times. The weapon was found at the scene.
Police said the motive behind the fatal machete attack is unclear. Detectives are looking into whether Riebel and Bekele knew each other. 10TV spoke with the victim’s family who said they are devastated by the loss of Riebel. They say she was a newlywed and describe her as “an amazing, kind and sweet young woman who lit up the world with her smile.” Residents of the tight-knit community say they are horrified by this loss. “It’s like terrifying to see something like this in Upper Sandusky, because this is a nice community,” said resident Jason Pierce. The Chief of Police Jason Lucas said nothing like this ever happens in Upper Sandusky. The last murder was in 2001. The Wyandot County Major Crimes Unit is currently investigating the incident. Police said additional charges could be forthcoming once the investigation is complete.
Southwest Airlines left thousands of travelers stranded over the holidays.
While there were other flights from other airlines that were canceled, the vast majority of them were from Southwest airlines. According to one Fox News contributor, it’s because of capitalism.
The Blaze reports, “Outdated systems and brutally cold winter weather are being blamed for the problems, but that is no consolation to stranded travelers.”
Some blame the transportation department. According to The Blaze, “Republicans, and even some Democrats, are partially blaming Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg for the meltdown. They argue he has abdicated his vocational responsibilities, which include responding to transportation crises.”
