After the US was essentially forced to conduct a major and rapid draw down of forces from the Gulf and Mideast region in the wake of Iran's 'unexpectedly' large retaliation for Operation Epic Fury, it seems all that Washington is left to do is arm regional allies to the teeth and wish them the best.

BRICS leaders issued a joint call for “maximum restraint” in the Middle East as the United States and Iran edge closer to a wider war that could rattle trade, energy, and global security.

A planned meeting for Monday morning between several Gulf nations and Iran has been postponed. The meeting was supposed to hammer out a possible deal on a temporary shipping route through the Strait of Hormuz.

"In the interests of consensus, the regional meeting set for tomorrow in Salalah has been postponed. We remain committed to fostering dialogue that supports stability and lasting cooperation in our region," Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi wrote on X late Sunday.

Following weeks of offensives against the Ali al-Taher Ridge, Israeli forces carried out massive underground detonations against what they say were tunnels belonging to Hezbollah. The detonations were said to involve 1,000 tonnes of explosives, and created a detectable earthquake that could be felt as far away as Sidon.
